Late Yildiz show rescues a point for Juventus against Inter Milan

093213097-9540a736-f345-4318-960c-729187caeeb0.jpg

Kenan Yildiz came on as a second-half substitute and helped Juventus secure a point in a thrilling 4-4 draw against Inter Milan this evening. ............

The men in black and white fell behind early after conceding a penalty that Piotr Zielinski converted. Given Inter’s reputation as one of the country’s top sides, it was no surprise that they took the lead.

However, Juventus responded just five minutes later through Dusan Vlahovic and then took the lead again seven minutes after that. It was a remarkable turnaround, especially considering they were playing away from home.

Juve’s advantage, however, was short-lived. Inter rallied to score twice before halftime, taking a 3-2 lead into the break in a topsy-turvy first half that saw five goals.

Inter extended their lead shortly after the interval, prompting Thiago Motta to make some changes. He introduced Yildiz, and the Turkish teenager made an immediate impact, scoring ten minutes after coming on to pull one back for Juventus.

Yildiz continued his impressive performance by netting another goal to level the score at 4-4. From there, Juventus looked the more likely side to find a winner, with Yildiz posing a constant threat. ............

Juventus Player Ratings vs Inter: Conceicao and Yildiz Shine in Marvelous Derby d’Italia

Kenan Yildiz, Inter vs Juventus

Juventus (4-2-3-1)

Michele Di Gregorio – 6.5

Despite conceding four goals, the Italian goalkeeper can leave the pitch with his head held high. After all, none of the goals were his fault, and he then produced a couple of jaw-dropping saves to keep his side in the match while the scoreline was 4-2.

Andrea Cambiaso – 6

The former Genoa man was often second best to his Italy teammate Federico Dimarco, but he still his moments, like playing a part in the last equalizer.

Pierre Kalulu – 5.5

The Frenchman has been highly impressive since joining Juventus, but looked shaky at the back this time. ............

Danilo – 5

Another torrid evening for the Juventus captain who was too slow to react to the ball and ended up giving away a penalty kick. Struggled all night against Marcus Thuram’s superior pace.

Juan Cabal – 6

 ............

Weston McKennie – 6

 ............

Manuel Locatelli – 6

The Euro 2020 winner didn’t make himself noticed when Juventus had the ball, but did his best to limit Barella’s danger. Kept a cool head when his team seemed lost on the pitch.

Francisco Conceicao – 8

A majestic display from the Portuguese who created the second goal for Weah almost out of nothing, and also delivered the assist for the last equalizer. Prior to Yildiz’s introduction, he seemed to be Juve’s solitary source of inspiration.

Nicolò Fagioli – 5

 ............

Timothy Weah – 6.5

The former Lille man sneaked behind the Inter defenders to poach the second Juventus goal, and almost found the top corner with a long-range screamer. Nevertheless, he was one of the culprits on the opener, as he couldn’t hamper Benjamin Pavard’s run.

Dusan Vlahovic – 6.5

The Serbian had only one chance to score, and although it wasn’t the neatest of finishes, he managed to find the back of the net on the half-volley. Worked hard for the cause before leaving his place for Mbangula.

Substitutes

Nicolò Savona – 6

 ............

Kenan Yildiz – 8

The teenager showcased why he inherited the iconic Juventus Number 10 with a sensational cameo. Revived what seemed to be a lost cause by scoring twice with his weaker foot.

Federico Gatti – N/A

Samuel Mbangula – N/A

Khephren Thuram – N/A

Thiago Motta on Juve’s thrilling 4-4 draw with Inter: “At 4-2, we stayed in the game”

The greeting between Simone Inzaghi, Inter coach, and Thiago Motta, Juventus coachThe greeting between Simone Inzaghi, Inter coach, and Thiago Motta, Juventus coachThiago Motta explains why Weah started over Yildiz for Juventus against Inter - Football Italia

In one of the most anticipated matches of the season, Inter Milan and Juventus played out a  4-4 draw in the Derby d’Italia at San Siro. Following the eight-goal thriller, Juventus manager Thiago Motta shared his thoughts on the game.

“We fell behind in the first half with two penalties. These were complicated situations, but we still managed to stay in the game,” Motta explained. “Inter deserved to score a fifth goal, but in the end we equalized and even deserved to take the lead.” ............

“Conceding four goals? We can improve on everything. Every match has a different story. Today we suffered a lot defensively, partly due to the technical quality of our opponents. We left too many chances.”

Despite these challenges, he was pleased with his team’s attacking response. “But on the other hand, we went on the attack and created many dangers,” he noted. “It was an open game and a clean match.” ............

He praised his players for their resilience: “We managed to stay competitive even when facing adversity.”

Juventus 4 - Inter Milan 4: Initial reaction and random observations

Just another relaxing Sunday in which your blood pressure never spiked even once.

Juventus Paksa Inter Imbang 4-4, Thiago Motta Jelaskan Strategi Comeback Manfaatkan Sayap Kanan

With his team trailing 4-2 and less than a half-hour to go in Sunday night’s Derby d’Italia at the San Siro, Juventus manager Thiago Motta brought on the biggest piece he had on the bench. It involved the young man who now calls the No. 10 jersey his own, with Kenan Yildiz coming on in the 62nd minute to somehow turn what was already a wild meeting of the two bitter rivals into an even crazier affair.

And what did Juventus’ young star boy do?

Only pull his team back in and be arguably the biggest reason why they were able to get a point out of their trip to Milan.

Ten minutes after coming on, Yildiz did exactly as he talked about in an interview entering the week — score a goal against Inter at the San Siro. But he wasn’t done there. Yildiz only added to his night that involved becoming the youngest-ever player to score a brace in the Derby d’Italia with a game-tying strike — his second with his left foot, no less! — capping a one-man comeback to give Juventus a point in a 4-4 draw with Inter, one of the highest Derby d’Italia nights we will ever come across............

Even with Dusan Vlahovic and Timothy Weah finding the back of the net in some quality combination play from Weston McKennie and Francisco Conceição, respectively, Juventus still found themselves down.

That’s because the defense was just a total mess. And that might be putting it lightly, too. ............

Thankfully — and I can’t stress that enough — Inter didn’t find a fifth goal.

That allowed Juventus to actually level the scoreline once and for all. Yildiz goal to cut the deficit in half was just a fantastic solo effort, showing off both his ability to control the ball as well as how just the simple threat of him cutting inside like he does so often is always going to be in a defender’s head no matter what the young Turk actually ends up doing. His second goal was obviously just as equally as important even though it came in a much different kind of way. It was, almost somewhat ironic that Denzel Dumfries — the man who scored the goal to put Inter up 4-2 — didn’t close out Yildiz after a failed headed clearance and the rest was done. ............

RANDOM THOUGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS

  • I like Kenan Yildiz a lot. Give him another contract extension!
  • I also miss Gleison Bremer a lot. ............
  • Within a two-minute span right after Yildiz came on, Michele Di Gregorio made a couple of great saves — the second arguably his best in his short Juve career — to keep the score 4-2. In hindsight, those two saves look absolutely massive to keep the deficit where it was and then see Yildiz cut the score to 4-3 just a few minutes later to begin the late-game comeback.
  • This kind of performance is not exactly going to support the case that Danilo should be playing more now that Bremer is out for the rest of the season. That was rough. ............
  • Watching Francisco Conceição dribble in those little pockets of space is so fun. He’s such an absolute menace in those situations.
  • I also don’t know how Conceição, in the 90th minute, is just still buzzing around like a total wild child with endless energy. Good to see him playing a full 90, too.
  • Bringing on Nicolo Savona at the same time in which Yildiz came on and pushing Andrea Cambiaso a little more forward rather than being pinned back with Federico Dimarco playing so high up the field certainly helped a little bit. ............

Del Piero admits Juventus stunned him with their comeback against Inter Milan

Player Ratings: Inter 4-4 Juventus: Yildiz changed the game

Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero admitted that he didn’t expect Juve to come back after falling 4-2 behind Inter Milan in the Derby d’Italia.

The Bianconeri showed courage from the start, responding quickly when Inter took the lead. However, when the Nerazzurri extended their advantage with two more goals, it seemed unlikely that Juve could stage a successful comeback.

Defying the odds, Juventus fought back to level the score, thanks to the brilliance of Kenan Yildiz, whose introduction from the bench surprised some fans. ............

Speaking in the Sky Sports studio, Del Piero confessed that he doubted Juve’s ability to mount a comeback and even thought Inter might score again to make it 5-2: “Did I expect Juventus to come back? No. After the 4-2 Inter came up strong, they had more than one or two chances to make it 5-2, I think this must be Inter’s great regret. Di Gregorio was the hero, then some balls went just wide of the post. In a match that seemed like a boxing match, Juve had this flash. Yildiz? You need things like that, one on one and the ball thrown in. Conceicao was the best on the pitch in my opinion.” ............

Journalist praises Thiago Motta for his substitutions against Inter Milan

Yildiz-Motta.jpg

Juventus delivered a thrilling 4-4 draw against Inter Milan, staging a remarkable comeback from two goals down to earn a point in a dramatic clash. This match came at a crucial time for the Bianconeri, who had just suffered their first competitive defeat of the season to Stuttgart earlier in the week. With several key players unavailable due to injuries, Juventus fans were looking for a strong response from their team, and they certainly got one. ............

Kenan Yildiz played a pivotal role in the comeback, coming on in the second half to make a significant impact on the game. His contributions helped inspire the Bianconeri’s resurgence, demonstrating why he is regarded as one of the club’s bright young talents. The decision to bring Yildiz on was one of several key substitutions made by Motta that altered the course of the match.

Journalist Nicola Gallo praised Motta’s tactical acumen, especially his substitutions, which proved to be game-changing:

“Juve is a very young team, they held the field and then took advantage of the drop in tension and probably physical condition of their opponents. Of course, Thiago Motta was also good because the substitutions changed the game, some seemed a bit strange but he was right.” ............

Motta’s tactical prowess and the team’s determination are positive signs that the Bianconeri are on the right path, even if there are still areas to improve as the season progresses.

Ciro Ferrara praises Juventus star for being difficult for Inter to stop

Yildiz-inter-milan.jpg

Former Juventus player Ciro Ferrara has lavished praise on Kenan Yildiz, following the teenager’s game-changing performance in the dramatic 4-4 draw against Inter Milan. Despite starting the high-stakes match on the bench, Yildiz made a crucial impact after coming on, scoring twice late in the game to help the Bianconeri come back from a 4-2 deficit and rescue a vital point. ............

Yildiz, who had not yet scored in the league this season, was electric from the moment he stepped onto the pitch. His dynamic play and eye for goal created problems for the Inter defence, who struggled to cope with his pace and skill. The youngster’s brace not only salvaged a draw for Juventus but also solidified his reputation as a player capable of delivering in critical moments.

Ferrara, watching as the action unfolded, was particularly impressed with Yildiz’s performance, describing him as a constant threat to defenders. The former Juventus defender commented:

“Yildiz? He scored a brace, the boy had not yet scored in the championship. Yildiz is an annoying player and difficult to stop.”

Ferrara’s choice of the word “annoying” highlights the youngster’s tenacity and persistence, qualities that make him a handful for opponents. ............

Di Canio praises Motta’s tactical approach in Inter-Juventus thriller

Thiago Motta Intervista Post Inter 4 vs 4 Juventus 27/10/2024

Paolo Di Canio, former Juventus and Lazio striker turned TV commentator, shared his insights on the thrilling 4-4 draw between Inter and Juventus from the Sky studios. He began by framing the result in context: “Half a defeat for Inter and half a victory for Juve? Given how things unfolded, yes. Normally, we would have been discussing the defensive disaster, with poor individual and unit choices. There was a real lack of quality at that level. But instead, the spectacle prevails.” ............

“On a tactical level, Motta got everything right because he switched McKennie with Locatelli and pushed Fagioli up, essentially turning him into a forward. This way, if they recover the ball, they have the technical ability to play a vertical pass to Vlahovic. And if the pressing line is breached, there are two reliable players in front of the defense who know how to do this job, while Fagioli often struggles in that role. Things were going well for them.” ............

“But I liked Juve’s character, desire, and DNA. They seem like a complete team, especially in terms of mentality.” ............

Yildiz-Inter.jpg

Juventus teenager Kenan Yildiz was unanimously named as the Man of the Match following his marvelous cameo in the Derby d’Italia. ............

However, Yildiz emerged as the ultimate hero by scoring twice with his weaker foot to force a 4-4 draw, much to Inter’s dismay. Curiously, The 19-year-old hadn’t scored in Serie A this season prior to this contest, only netting a strike against PSV in the Champions League. ............

Yildiz beaming: “Juventus believe in the Scudetto, proud to score against Inter

v9hmgrohstgo0ninhm9e.jpg

Juventus teenager Kenan Yildiz emerged as the ultimate hero for the Bianconeri faithful in the thrilling 4-4 draw against Inter.

While the young attacker has been a regular starter since the start of the season, Thiago Motta decided to drop him from the lineup for the Derby d’Italia, instead relying on Timothy Weah on the left flank. ............

“Is it better to start from the bench next time too? It wasn’t easy,” said the Juventus number 10 in his post-interview. “But I’m very happy and I thank my teammates and the coach. These goals make me happy.

“I’m proud to have scored against Inter. After the first one, I didn’t stick my tongue out because I had to keep my feet on the ground. But after the equalizer, I celebrated as I always do. I hope to score more. ............

“We have to remain on the positive track. In football, everything can change quickly, but we played as a team and it eventually went well for us. We believe in the Scudetto, but the season is still long.” ............

Motta’s Three game-changing maneuvers that rescued a point for Juventus against Inter

Thiago Motta

On Sunday evening, Thiago Motta appeared to be facing his first Serie A defeat as a Juventus manager, but somehow managed to escape unscathed by roaring back to earn a 4-4 draw against Inter at San Siro. ............

Motta deserves the credit as his second-half maneuvers turned the tide in the Old Lady’s favor. The report mentions three ploys that worked almost to perfection.

The first was replacing Timothy Weah with Yildiz. While the introduction of the Turkish youngster was a no-brainer at that point, taking off the American raised some eyebrows. ............

The second maneuver was the introduction of Nicola Savona which left many perplexed ............ Nevertheless, Savona’s entry freed up Andrea Cambiaso who got the license to roam forward. The latter played an instrumental part in the last equalizer.

Last but not least, Dusan Vlahovic’s exit was certainly a controversial decision with Juventus trailing in the score, but Samuel Mbangula’s entry meant that the Inter defenders no longer had fixed points to mark. ............

Juventus defence in crisis: From 1 Goal conceded with Bremer to 8 without him

Infortunio Bremer, è rottura del legamento crociato: stagione finita per il difensore della Juventus

Juventus’ defensive prowess has taken a dramatic turn for the worse since the injury of key center-back Gleison Bremer. The team that once prided itself on a near-impenetrable defense, conceding just one goal in eight Serie A matches, now finds itself struggling to maintain its defensive solidity.

Prior to Bremer’s injury in Leipzig, Juventus boasted the best defensive record among Europe’s top five leagues. ............

The statistics paint a stark picture of Bremer’s importance to the team. Before his injury, Juventus had conceded just one goal in seven matches. In the five games since his absence, they’ve allowed eight goals. Only in the match against Lazio did they manage to keep a clean sheet during this period.

This defensive collapse is further emphasized by the number of shots Juventus are now allowing. In the Champions League match prior to the Inter game, they conceded 24 shots, a significant increase from their previous total of 21 across all matches. Against Inter, they allowed 18 shots, with goalkeeper Di Gregorio making two crucial saves.

The team’s defensive record in Serie A has now slipped, with five goals conceded, putting them on par with Napoli. ............

Preview: Juventus vs. Parma - prediction, team news, lineups

Juventus v Parma Match Preview and Scouting - | Juvefc.com

After rescuing one point from a dramatic Derby d'Italia last weekend, Juventus will seek all three on Wednesday, when they welcome Parma to Turin. ............

Match preview

After trailing, then leading, then going in 3-2 down at half time, Juventus produced a remarkable comeback to draw 4-4 with reigning champions Inter on Sunday evening, as Italy's most prestigious Calcio contest produced a stone-cold classic.

Shortly after the break, Juve fell two goals behind, before surviving several scares, but Turkish teenager Kenan Yildiz emerged from the bench and scored twice to turn the game on its head at San Siro.

Incredibly, the four goals they conceded were as many as throughout all of their previous 10 league matches dating back to the end of last season - and Henrikh Mkhitaryan's first-half strike is the only one from open play so far this term. ............

Just one point behind Inter in the race to haul back early front-runners Napoli, Motta's men are still well-placed to contend for the title, and they can aid that quest with a midweek win.

As Juve have scored in every top-flight home game against Parma to date - across 26 previous meetings, at an average of 2.5 goals per game - history suggests they should prevail on Wednesday evening.

Such has been the Bianconeri's dominance, Parma have won only one of their last 14 league matches against Juventus, losing 10 times in the process.

On this occasion, the Gialloblu will arrive at the Allianz Stadium having taken just four points from seven games since upsetting AC Milan back in August. ............

Team News

Rarely reliant on the same starting XI from game to game, Thiago Motta is set to tinker with his team on Wednesday, ahead of a weekend trip to Udine.

Having pressed his claims for inclusion by making a massive impact on the Derby d'Italia, Kenan Yildiz could be recalled, as the 19-year-old forward seeks a first league goal at the Allianz Stadium - his four Serie A strikes so far have all come away from home.

As well as long-term absentees Bremer and Arkadiusz Milik, summer signings Teun Koopmeiners and Nico Gonzalez may miss out again, while Douglas Luiz remains a slight doubt due to a thigh problem.

While Dusan Vlahovic sets the standard for Juve in this season's Capocannoniere chart, Parma's last six goals have been scored by six different players. ............

Juventus possible starting lineup:
Di Gregorio; Savona, Kalulu, Gatti, Cabal; Thuram, Locatelli; Conceicao, Yildiz, Weah; Vlahovic

Parma possible starting lineup:
Suzuki; Coulibaly, Del Prato, Balogh, Valeri; Sohm, Bernabe; Man, Hernani, Mihaila; Bonny

We say: Juventus 2-0 Parma

Expect normal service to resume for Juventus, whose superb defensive record was disregarded by Inter last time out, as Parma lack a major goal threat.

At a venue where they generally hand over three points to their hosts, the visitors will not end their wait for a first away win of the season.

Motta pondering lineup changes ahead of Juventus vs Parma

Thiago Motta explains Juventus decisions in 4-4 Inter fight back

After registering a 4-4 draw in a historic edition of the Derby d’Italia, Juventus will hardly have time to catch their break, as their next Serie A encounter against Parma is just around the corner. The Bianconeri will host the newly-promoted side at the Allianz Stadium in Turin this Wednesday.

After expanding so much energy in the back-and-forth showdown at San Siro, Thiago Motta will be looking to rotate his starting lineup for the midweek contest, even though the injury crisis is leaving him with limited options. After all, the likes of Teun Koopmeiners, Douglas Luiz and Nico Gonzalez are unlikely to recover in time for the next one. ............

Motta could start by giving the nod to Mattia Perin following his heroics against Stuttgart last Tuesday. ............

Nicolo Savona and Federico Gatti will get the nod at the back from the start after earning cameos at San Siro. The latter will likely start given Danilo’s recent woes at the back.

In the middle of the park, Khephren Thuram should return to the starting formation, albeit it remains to be seen who would make way between Manuel Locatelli, Weston McKennie and Nicolo Fagioli.

Last but not least, Kenan Yildiz will certainly reclaim his starting berth following his exceptional cameo on Sunday. ............

Teun Koopmeiners unlikely to recover in time to face Parma

Juventus v Cagliari Calcio - Serie A

The thing that was generally assumed when it became known that Teun Koopmeiners was dealing with a cracked rib was that his exact return to action was going to be a complete question mark. That may sound little bit of an odd thing to think about, but cracked ribs are very much not like muscle injuries when it comes to recovery times — it just doesn’t fit into one exact timetable almost every single time.

And now, as we enter build-up to the final game before October turns to November, Koopmeiners’ return to Juventus’ lineup is still a waiting game. ............

When Koopmeiners was officially diagnosed with his broken rib a few days later, one very notable thing was missing from the announcement: just how long he was going to be out for.

Because this injury is more how the player feels rather than sitting out a couple of weeks and that’s that, Koopmeiners’ return continues to roll on and be Juve’s arguably biggest absence outside of Gleison Bremer. ............

In Koopmeiners’ absence, Thiago Motta has tried more than just a couple of players in the No. 10 role in which the 26-year-old Dutchman has occupied since signing from Atalanta late in August. We’ve seen Douglas Luiz — who is dealing with his own injury issues at the moment — played in the hole. We’ve seen Nicolo Fagioli played in the hole. Kenan Yildiz hasn’t gotten back to the spot he looked at home at prior to Koopmeiners’ arrival, but we’ve also seen Weston McKennie very much making runs forward into the final third like he did to set up Juve’s first goal against Inter this past weekend. ............

Juventus vs Parma: Preview and Prediction

Juventus vs Parma prediction and betting tips on October 30, 2024 – Ratingbet.com

Juventus will look to return to winning ways in Serie A when they host Parma, who have only won one league outing this season.

Juventus are unbeaten heading into this fixture, but they have already played out too many draws and won’t want to drop any more points against Parma, who have failed to win any of their last six league outings.

The Old Lady are currently third on the table with 17 points in nine outings thanks to four wins and five draws. They have only won two of their last five league games and played out a 4-4 draw in their last outing against Inter Milan. ............

Team News & Tactics

Juventus

Gleison Bremer and Arkadiusz Milik remain on the sidelines. Apart from the duo, summer signings Teun Koopmeiners and Nico Gonzalez could also miss this home game. Meanwhile, Douglas Luiz remains a major doubt for this fixture with a thigh problem.

Thiago Motta is expected to make a few changes to the team that started in their last outing. The Juventus manager will most likely go ahead with the 4-2-3-1 formation against Parma, with Michele Di Gregorio in goal.

Nicolo Savona and Jose Maria Cabal will feature as the full-backs, while Pierre Kalulu and Federico Gatti will feature in the heart of the defence. In the absence of Luiz, Khephren Thuram should partner Manuel Locatelli in the centre of the park. They will look to shield the backline and provide a base to attack from.

Francisco Conceicao and Timothy Weah could feature on the flanks, with Kenan Yildiz taking up the role of an attacking midfielder. Meanwhile, Dusan Vlahovic should continue to lead the line for Juventus against Parma.

Probable Lineup (4-3-3): Di Gregorio; Savona, Kalulu, Gatti, Cabal; Thuram, Locatelli; Conceicao, Yildiz, Weah; Vlahovic

Juventus vs Parma Predicted XI

Key Stats

  • Juventus have won 23 out of the last 40 matches against Parma, who only have six wins in those games.
  • The Old Lady are unbeaten in 13 out of their last 14 games against Parma in Serie A. Their only defeat came back in 2015.
  • The visitors have lost each of their last league games against the Turin-based club.
  • Juventus have scored a total of 65 goals in their 26 matches at home against Parma.
  • Parma have been winless in their last six league outings this season.

Player to Watch

Kenan Yildiz

The 19-year-old Turkish sensation was the one who saved the day for Juventus in their last outing against Inter Milan with a brace. With five goal contributions in his 12 outings, Yildiz has had quite an impact in the ongoing campaign, and the Old Lady will hope he helps them claim all three points against Parma.

Prediction

Juventus 3-1 Parma

Juventus have a dominant head-to-head record against Parma. While the Old Lady have not been at their best in the 2024/25 season, they still have a lot of quality in their ranks that can help them secure a positive result in this home fixture. The visitors have struggled to win games and they are unlikely to get it right against Thiago Motta’s men. The Hard Tackle predicts a 3-1 win for Juventus.

Serie A Preview: Juventus vs Parma – Team News, Line-ups & Prediction

Juventus_Parma_Preview.jpg

Juventus resume their Serie A title pursuit on Wednesday with a must-win home encounter against newly promoted Parma. There’s no margin for error if Thiago Motta’s men are to stay within striking distance of Napoli.

Following Napoli’s 2-0 win against out-of-sorts Milan on Tuesday, eight points separate Antonio Conte’s high-flying side from third-placed Juventus. Despite avoiding defeat in all nine league matches in charge of the Bianconeri, Motta’s habit of sharing the spoils has been a massive setback in the early season proceedings.

Juventus pulled off a stunning late fightback to haul back a 4-2 deficit in a see-saw 4-4 Derby d’Italia draw against Inter on Sunday. Kenan Yildiz couldn’t have picked a better moment to get off the mark in Serie A this season. The Turkish prodigy netted twice off the bench to salvage a point for his team at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. ............

Match Preview

Juventus

Title-chasing Juventus carry an eye-catching 17-game unbeaten league run into this matchday. However, that record doesn’t show the whole picture. Indeed, 11 of those 17 matches ended all square, underlining the home side’s notorious inability to turn stalemates into victories.

Such an eye-watering number of draws has started to frustrate Juventus fans, considering it continues to throw a spanner in the works as they bid to end a four-year Scudetto drought. Anything other than three points against Parma would intensify the pressure on the Bianconeri.

However, they seem well-positioned to return to the win column, having won five of the last six meetings with the Crusaders (D1). They’ve been particularly prolific in this fixture, netting at least two goals in six of the seven most recent clashes between the teams in Turin (W6, D1).

Adding to Motta’s confidence, Juventus boast an outstanding record of eight triumphs from their last nine Wednesday-held Serie A outings (L1).

Parma

 ............

Team News

Juventus are still without long-term absentees Paul Pogba, Arkadiusz Milik, and Gleison Bremer. This game will come too soon for marquee summer signings Nicolas Gonzalez and Teun Koopmeiners, while there’s a chance Douglas Luiz could return to the fold. ............

Juventus vs Parma Potential Starting Line-ups

Juventus (4-2-3-1): Michele Di Gregorio; Nicolo Savona, Pierre Kalulu, Federico Gatti, Juan Cabal; Marcus Thuram, Manuel Locatelli; Francisco Conceicao, Kenan Yildiz, Timothy Weah; Dusan Vlahovic.

Parma (4-2-3-1): Zion Suzuki; Woyo Coulibaly, Enrico Del Prato, Botond Balogh, Emanuele Valeri; Simon Sohm, Adrian Bernabe; Dennis Man, Hernani, Valentin Mihaila; Ange Bonny.

Juventus vs Parma Prediction

Parma can cause problems for every team in Serie A, as evidenced by their stellar win against Milan and a hard-earned draw against Fiorentina earlier in the season. However, they could be out of their depth in Turin as we back Juventus to return to winning ways.

Prediction: Juventus to Win

Parma hold Juventus to a 2-2 draw as Bianconeri struggle to regain winning form

Mckennie Weah v Parma

Parma secured a 2-2 draw against Juventus this evening, as the Bianconeri failed to return to winning ways following their draw with Inter Milan.

Parma sent an early message that they hadn’t come to the Allianz Stadium to concede defeat, opening the scoring inside three minutes. This quick goal put Juventus on the back foot, forcing them to chase an equaliser while Parma looked to exploit any defensive gaps left by the Old Lady. ............

Trailing at halftime, Motta needed to inspire a response from his team. Shortly after the break, Francisco Conceição set up Weah, who quickly equalised for Juventus, igniting hope among the home fans.

Juventus had chances to take the lead, with Dusan Vlahović heading just over the bar. Motta then replaced Weah with Kenan Yildiz, hoping the Turkish youngster might replicate his impact from the Inter Milan game. ............

Juve pushed for a late winner, with Teun Koopmeiners standing out after his introduction, but neither side managed to break the deadlock.

In the end, both teams settled for a hard-fought draw.

Juventus Player Ratings vs Parma: American Goals Not Enough for Disappointing Bianconeri

McKennie, Weah, Juventus vs Parma

At the Allianz Stadium in Turin, Juventus settled for their sixth draw of the season, this time sharing the spoils with Parma. ............

Juventus (4-2-3-1)

Michele Di Gregorio – 6

While some might argue that the Italian custodian could have done a bit more on the two Parma goals, he prevented a first defeat for the club by denying Gabriel Charpentier from close range.

Andrea Cambiaso – 6

............

Federico Gatti – 5.5

The Italy international had a torrid first half, as he was beaten in the air by the smaller Del Prato on the opener. But he atoned himself with a couple of crucial interceptions in the second period.

Danilo – 5

The Juventus captain showcased his vast experience on a few occasions, but his lack of pace is rendering him a liability in Thiago Motta’s system. He was one of the main culprits on the second Parma goal, and his fumbles could have cost his club even more.

Juan Cabal – 6

............

Manuel Locatelli – 6.5

A courageous showing from the Euro 2020 winner who won back possession on the play that led to the second ball. Picked up his teammates with precise passing and kept the ball rolling in the middle of the park.

Khephren Thuram – 6

............

Francisco Conceicao – 6.5

The Portuguese was once again the team’s main source of inspiration. Kept his opponents on their toes, but found a solid adversary in Coulibaly. Picked up Weah with a brilliant assist.

Weston McKennie – 6.5

The Texan was struggling to leave his mark on the encounter, but kept his composure to head home the first Juventus goal. Failed to prevent the second Parma goal, but at least he was doing his duty at the back while others were nowhere to be seen.

Timothy Weah – 7

The USMNT star produced an assist with a sublime cross for his compatriot on the first Juventus equalizer and then scored the second himself, but Motta preferred to haul him off early in the second half for Yildiz.

Dusan Vlahovic – 4.5

The Serbian wasted an absolute sitter on the rebound and never managed to make amends. His touch was often heavy and futile.

Substitutes

Nicolò Savona – 6

............

Kenan Yildiz – 5.5

The teenager had a magical cameo against Inter three days ago, but was far less impactful this time.

Teun Koopmeiners – 6

............

Nicolò Fagioli – N/A

Motta admits Juventus were not good enough against Parma

Errors in defence and attack cost Juventus against Parma, says Motta

Juventus drew once again this evening after a challenging match against Parma, which nearly saw the visitors claim all three points at the Allianz Stadium. Following their thrilling 4-4 encounter with Inter Milan, many supporters and analysts lauded the Bianconeri for their resilience and fighting spirit, fueling expectations to carry this momentum into a victory against Parma. However, instead of finding a breakthrough, Juventus encountered an organised and relentless Parma side intent on returning home with their own points.

Parma proved to be a tough opponent throughout the game, quickly responding to every Juventus error and seizing upon loose balls with determination. Each time Juventus’s attack faltered, Parma pounced, launching fast counter-attacks that created constant problems for the Bianconeri’s defence. The Emilian side’s strategy kept Juventus off balance and prevented them from gaining control of the match, nearly resulting in a surprising upset. ............

.

Head coach Thiago Motta admitted that the team’s approach was not ideal and pointed to specific areas for improvement. After the game, he commented on Juventus’s struggles, saying: “We want to do a lot and sometimes we can’t do what we have in mind. Now is the time to maintain balance and our idea. We suffered from Parma’s counterattacks because they ran away and managed to counterattack. This is not a good thing. We definitely have to do better and immediately counterattack. We gave our opponent the advantage.” ............

Juventus 2 - Parma 2: Initial reactions and random observations

Juve failed to generate any momentum from Sunday’s dramatic comeback and dropped points to a likely relegation battler.

Juventus v Parma - Serie A

After the emotion of Juventus’ comeback against Inter on Sunday, getting to play a team like Parma—who look likely to be hovering above the relegation zone for much of the year—looked like a perfect opportunity to bank three points and gain some momentum.

Unfortunately, Juve’s players didn’t get that memo.

The Bianconeri simply didn’t come to play at kickoff. They failed to accomplish the simplest of tasks on the field. Passes went everywhere but their intended destination. The defense left massive gaps that the Crusaders took ample advantage of. Juventus were down 1-0 within three minutes, and they were incredibly lucky not to be down by quite a bit more when they finally equalized just after the half-hour.

But any hopes that that would stabilize things for Juve were short-lived when a long ball and completely inept defending put Parma back in front.

Thiago Motta clearly read his charges the riot act, and Juve tied the game within minutes of the restart thanks to a slick move from one Francisco Conceição, who is proving to be the team’s best signing of the summer window.

Juve had 30 minutes to complete the turnaround and bag a winner, but couldn’t manage to break through Parma’s defense. It wasn’t for lack of trying. Juve took 13 shots in the final half hour. Only three hit the target, but that number is a bit deceiving. ............

Juve have had problems with playing down to their opponents for years now. The first half was simply abominable—one of the worst 45 minutes of football Juve have played in years. It looked pretty clear the team was running on fumes mentally after expending so much emotional capital at the San Siro on Sunday. Combine that with the physical exhaustion of a packed schedule and a short bench, and you have the recipe for what you saw in the first period today. Even at the end of the game, Juve made mistakes that could have cost them the game, and only a one-on-one save by Michele Di Gregorio saved them from an ugly defeat. ............

RANDOM THOUGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS

  • I think it’s time we face the fact that Father Time snuck up and hit Danilo with a stick over the summer. He’s been awful the last three games, and his struggles have magnified the absence of Bremer. He was simply outrun on the long ball that led to Parma’s second goal, and his badly timed tackle on another one was what gifted Gabriel Charpentier the one-on-one opportunity that Di Gregorio managed to stop. A new center-back to replace Bremer has always been the prioritie for the January transfer window, but as Danilo struggles it becomes increasingly critical. ............
  • In the meantime, the defensive pairing of Federico Gatti and Pierre Kalulu has to be the default going forward. I think installing them together again will ease some of the defensive issues we’ve seen the last few games. ............
  • As great as Conceição has been, he’s had a tendency to start playing hero ball as games have gone on. There were more than a few instances as the game went on where he started trying to do way too much when there just wasn’t anything there.
  • Juve have directed so many of their attacks through the wings lately, that they’ve almost ignored the middle of the field. That needs to change. For one thing, it makes the attack very predictable. For another, they’re actually pretty good when they go through the center. Some of Juve’s most dangerous attacks—including the one that led to the second equalizer—started in the middle. Couple that with the fact that Dusan Vlahovic has always been his best when running those center lanes, and it makes one wonder why the team has gone wide so much. The attack needs to diversify a bit. ............
  • Three goal contributions for Juve’s American contingent today—a goal for Weston McKennie, and a goal and an assist for Tim Weah. That’s after McKennie had two assists and Weah a goal over the weekend, making six over the last two games. ............

Juventus Defense Keeps Faltering Without Bremer

Juventus lose ground in title race after 2-2 draw with Parma - CNA

Juventus gave up two more goals against Parma and looked very wobbly, further sullying their previously stellar defensive numbers. They had already taken a big hit because of the 4-4 draw with Inter. They are no longer the stingiest side in the league. Napoli grabbed the baton solo in the midweek round.

Since Gleison Bremer went down with an ACL tear, the Bianconeri have secured a clean sheet only versus Lazio, which were hurt by an early red card. They have conceded in all the other matches.

Juventus had allowed just 11 shots in the first 8 matchdays. They gave up 9 in the San Siro clash, 10 versus Stuttgart, and 13 to Parma. The tally has risen to 54 in just 6 fixtures. Thiago Motta has rotated his three center-backs, but none has stood out. Even Pierre Kalulu, who was their best performer beforehand, has had some blunders. Federico Gatti returned to the XI midweek, but things didn’t improve. He and Danilo struggled to keep up with the Ducali speedsters. ............

It’s hardly a shocking development, as Bremer might not be too flashy or trumpeted, but he’s rock-solid and covers for a lot of mistakes. They should go with Gatti and Kalulu more regularly, as Danilo is justifying his previous lack of minutes with his latest showings.  ............
