Hellas Verona vs Juventus: Preview and Prediction

Hellas Verona vs Juventus Prediction, Betting Tips and News

Juventus are in danger of drifting further away from the title race, as Massimiliano Allegri will demand an urgent win over Hellas Verona.

Two teams on opposite ends of the table will take on each other, with Hellas Verona having much to lose and everything to gain should they manage a favourable result. Marco Baroni’s men could only earn a draw against Monza last weekend, which extended their winless run to four games in the division. ............

With the Bianconeri also coming into the clash in a low form, Verona might sense this is the opportunity to get something from this clash, although in truth, it’s against the odds.

Massimiliano Allegri will demand nothing but a win from his players, as he would have relayed to those stars the importance of three points at the weekend. For a brief moment, Juventus went top of the league when Inter Milan were away in Saudi Arabia, but things have gone downhill for the Turin giants since.

A morale-sapping draw against Empoli was followed by a direct clash with rivals Inter Milan, which Juventus lost by a single goal. While they were not much far from the San Siro rivals, last weekend’s disappointing loss to Udinese at home dealt a big blow to their chances of catching up with Inter Milan. .............

Probable Lineup (4-2-3-1) – Montipo; Tchatchoua, Magnani, Dawidowicz, Cabal; Duda, Serdar; Folorunsho, Suslov, Lazovic; Noslin

Juventus

There are some selection headaches for Allegri before he names his lineup for the Verona clash away from home. for starters, the manager will have key defender Danilo back into contention, although the Bianconeri have lost Gleison Bremer to a suspension.

In terms of injuries, only Moise Kean, Mattia De Sciglio, and Mattia Perin are missing from action, as Allegri will give a good enough squad to choose from. With Bremer absent, Daniele Rugani and Federico Gatti will join Danilo in that back three.

Adrien Rabiot should tag alongside Manuel Locatelli and Weston McKennie in that midfield, while Andrea Cambiaso and Filip Kostic are likely to keep hold of their wing-back position.

Up front, Dusan Vlahovic is still in considerable doubt with a thigh problem, although the forward might return to the squad and feature from the bench. Allegri might also choose Federico Chiesa in place of Kenan Yildiz upfront, as the Italian will likely partner with the experienced Arkadiusz Milik in the two starting front roles.

Probable Lineup (3-5-2) – Szczesny; Gatti, Rugani, Danilo; Cambiaso, McKennie, Locatelli, Rabiot, Kostic; Milik, Chiesa

  • Juventus have been drawing at half-time and winning at full-time in their last 3 matches against Verona in all competitions.

Prediction

Hellas Verona 0-2 Juventus

Verona have struggled since the turn of the year and they might continue to do so as well as keep their dreadful form against Juventus. However, while they might sense this could be the right time to face the Bianconeri, it could have the opposite effect, as Allegri will want an angry reaction from his players.

However, Juventus have enough firepower to bounce back from their recent impasse and get themselves back in the title race. That could come at the expense of Verona, who are struggling and could continue to fire blanks in the league.

Hellas Verona vs. Juventus match preview

Let’s see if the month of February can get a little better.

Kijk Hellas Verona - Juventus Live Stream | DAZN BE

No matter what the result of the second Derby d’Italia ended up being, the next few games after that massive rivalry matchup for Juventus were looked to be very favorable ones. They were not only against provincial sides, but also ones who were very much struggling and toward the bottom of the Serie A table. It was, in theory, a way to either keep pace with Inter or potentially change the scope of the Scudetto race. .............

Hellas Verona are very much in the same kind of rut that Udinese found themselves in entering Monday’s matchup in Turin. Hellas are 18th in the table and looking every bit of a threat to be relegated. They’ve won two games since the first day of September — which, when you do the math, is all of three weeks in the new Serie A season. Their two wins since September — which, for the record, have come over the last two months — have come against Italian heavyweights Cagliari (currently 19th) and Empoli (currently 16th), so it’s not like they’re pulling any sort of upset victories or anything like that.

Translation: It’s basically the same thing we said last week against Udinese — the last thing Juventus need to see happen is to drop points against a provincial side that is both struggling and statistically one of the worst in the league. .............

TEAM NEWS

  • This will be Allegri’s 406th appearance as Juventus manager, the second-highest total in the history of the club behind Giovanni Trapattoni.
  • Just as Danilo comes back into the squad following his one-game suspension due to yellow card accumulation, fellow Brazilian defender Bremer will miss the trip to Verona due to having to serve a one-game suspension after picking up a yellow in the loss to Udinese.
  • Dusan Vlahovic is back in the squad after missing the game against Udinese due to injury. .............
  • While Vlahovic is back in the traveling squad, Allegri said at his pre-match press conference he still has yet to decide who’s going to start in attack.
  • Allegri said that January signing Carlos Alcaraz is “working well” really like’s the Argeentine’s “desire to learn and his learning ability,” but felt like the loss to Udinese was not the right game for him. “I’m happy with what he is doing,” Allegri added.
  • Fellow January signing Tiago Djaló has yet to make his Juventus debut, but Allegri said that he “will be a useful player between now and the end of the season.”

JUVENTUS PLAYER TO WATCH

 .............

Juventus v FC Internazionale - Serie A TIM

Yes, today we are going to spend a few hundred words as we talk about Daniele Rugani, a guy who is the odds-on favorite to step in for Bremer as the hulking Brazilian serves his one-game suspension this weekend. .............

This season, Rugani’s playing time has very much been limited; he’s played all of 661 minutes over 11 appearances (six starts) in Serie A. Throw in his Coppa Italia start against Salernitana last month and Rugani’s 12 appearances have gone like this: 10 wins, two draws and just for goals conceded. Of course, all of those clean sheets are not solely because of Rugani, but it is a sign that there’s no major dropoff between the defense when Rugani’s on the bench and in the lineup. .............

The good thing in all of this is that Rugani stepping in for Bremer is happening against Hellas Verona — one of the one of the lowest-scoring teams in Serie A — and not a few weeks from now against Napoli or Atalanta. So that part is good, and in theory Hellas aren’t going to be the massive task of slowing down without Bremer as other clubs in Serie A, big or small. .............

Juventus slump continues at Verona as Bianconeri fail to win again

Goals and Highlights: Hellas Verona 2-2 Juventus in Serie A | 02/17/2024 - VAVEL USA

Juventus dropped two more points in Serie A this evening during their visit to Hellas Verona, effectively putting an end to their aspirations of winning the league.

Max Allegri’s team was anticipated to start the game with intensity, intending to secure nothing less than a victory. However, it was Verona who surprised the Bianconeri by taking the lead just 11 minutes into the match.

With Juventus aiming to stay in the title race and Verona striving to maintain their top-flight status, both teams had the desire to secure a win. Despite equalising through a penalty after 28 minutes, Juve’s situation didn’t change significantly, as Verona remained resolute in their efforts to challenge the black and whites. .............

Despite fans’ hopes for Juventus to build on this and secure the next goal, even the introduction of Federico Chiesa and Carlos Alcaraz couldn’t secure a winning goal for Juve. As a result, the Bianconeri will return to Turin with just a point.

With Juventus now out of the title race, there’s a possibility of being overtaken by AC Milan if they win their upcoming game.

Juventus 2 - Hellas Verona 2: Initial reaction and random observations

Another weekend in February in which dropped points are the overarching theme of the day.

FBL-ITA-SERIEA-VERONA-JUVENTUS

Heading into the final weekend of January, I sat here and wrote about how Juventus had enjoyed quite the pleasantly surprising runs that we’ve seen from them of Max Allegri’s second stint in charge. They were winning, they were scoring goals galore and they were racking up shutouts and they were putting serious heat on league leaders Inter Milan so much that they were spending a short time actually atop the table.

All of three weeks and four games later, Juve haven’t just fallen out of the Scudetto race and essentially handed the title to Inter, but come crashing back down to earth in the kind of fashion that you really have no idea where this team is going all of the sudden.

The latest confirmation of that came Saturday evening at the Bentegodi in Verona, as Juve had to fight back twice from being a goal down to get a point against Hellas Verona in a 2-2 draw. Sure, they scored their first two goals in the month of February, but it was another stark reminder that things are not right and that struggling against another relegation battler means that Juventus’ season has gone from Scudetto push to simply trying to hold on for dear life as the distance between where they are and those outside of the top four suddenly becomes smaller and smaller. .............

That’s all of two points collected in four games. Three of those opponents are ones that are actively trying to avoid getting relegated to Serie B a few months from now. And yet, they didn’t beat any of them. Not a single one. That’s something they avoided from taking place for much of the first half of the 2023-24 season, but as great as the first four weeks of the new year was, the same can’t be said about this second month of 2024.

It’s tiresome. It’s been tiresome. It’s only getting more tiresome as we watch Juventus’ advantage over Milan in third place shrinking to the slimmest of margins and run the risk of fully going away 24 hours from now. These types of results happened under multiple managers, but only exaggerated under Allegri for the simple notion that he was supposed to be the agent that made things better when compared to a rookie manager like Andrea Pirlo. Instead, we’ve seen uninspiring performances and dropped points galore, with this current four-game run featuring three relegation battlers on the schedule and no wins recorded.

That is where Juventus are at right now. They have crashed so hard and so quickly that they are now struggling to even get a point against teams that are either in the relegation zone or just outside of it. .............

Juve had 18 shots and put all of four of them on target, with one of those being Dusan Vlahovic’s PK to tie things up a half hour in. Nearly half of those shots were blocked. Another six of those were off target. Against one of the worst defenses in Serie A, Juve barely challenged Montipo in goal.

That’s not going to cut it against a relegation battler or a contender for the top four. And the same old problems of years prior are now coming back into the spotlight because they’re dropping points in four straight games. January was fun, man. February is the complete opposite.

RANDOM THOUGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS

  • What are the odds Milan beat Monza and Juve’s in third place at the end of the weekend? I feel like it’s a pretty good chance of happening .............
  • Juventus, statistically, has one of the best defenses in the league. On Saturday, they allowed Hellas Verona to record one of their highest shot attempted totals this entire season. I get that Juve’s defense was without their best player because Bremer was suspended, but you just can’t let that happen. It’s almost a little surprising with how this game was played and how Juve’s defense was stretched that it finished at 2-2.
  • Going off that, Wojciech Szczesny made a season-high seven saves against Hellas Verona. I get that a lot of them weren’t exactly tough saves and a lot of those shots were right at him, but the simple fact that Szczesny was called into action so many times is the worrying part. .............
  • Chiesa constantly missing scoring chances that we all know he would bury if he was in better form makes me sad. This is not the Chiesa we know. Bring me back the Fred Church we all know and love. Juve need him so bad.
  • Juve finished with an xG of 1.68. Nearly half of that total was on Vlahovic’s PK. Not great, folks!
  • Adrien Rabiot with one of those classic showings where he was having a complete stinker and then he pops up and scores a goal. I was seriously texting a Juve friend about how bad he was playing right before Manuel Locatelli jumped on the loose ball and sent in the cross to Rabiot. Sometimes, these things just work out like that.
  • Kenan Yildiz had some good moments against Hellas Verona. He also had some not so great moments. Kinda what you expect from an 18-year-old kid who’s still getting his footing as a player who is being relied on as one of the few creative outlets on this team. He’ll get there because of his talent level, but there’s going to be some obvious growing pains along the way.
  • We got the chance to see Chiesa, Vlahovic and Yildiz all on the field together! It lasted all of about eight minutes. Hope you enjoyed it! .............
  • This team is clearly not mentally there right now. That Empoli draw was the major blow and the subsequent games after that were more body shots that they couldn’t afford to take.
  • It was nice for Carlos Alcaraz to get some good minutes in a game in which Juve’s midfield was struggling to create much. He had some nice combination and passes in the final third, most notably with Chiesa down the left channel. Consider me intrigued, Charly. .............

“We don’t exploit” Allegri laments Juventus draw against Verona

Weston McKennie and Tim Weah's title dreams are over! Adrien Rabiot admits Juventus must settle for second place amid miserable Serie A run | Goal.com United Arab Emirates

Max Allegri openly acknowledges that Juventus has undone much of the positive work achieved at the start of the Serie A season, particularly after their 2-2 draw against Hellas Verona this evening.

Entering the game to rejuvenate their season following a three-game winless streak, Juventus faced a formidable Verona side equally determined to secure a victory for their battle against relegation. .............

After the game, Allegri said:

“In this phase we are long, we don’t exploit situations in the open field and we allow several counterattacks. Even against Udinese, we had five chances and we didn’t score a goal. In football, you take a long time to build and a little to destroy, now we have had two draws in four games.” .............

Journalist tips Allegri to make a significant formation change

allegri-locatelli.jpg

Max Allegri has consistently expressed his faith in the 3-5-2 formation at Juventus, prompting some players to adapt to this tactical setup. Notably, Federico Chiesa faced challenges initially, being deployed out of position as one of the two attackers, whereas he prefers a wider role in a 4-3-3 formation. ............

Journalist Sergio Baldini anticipates that Allegri might eventually revert to the 4-3-3 formation, considering it the most suitable setup for some of the Juventus players.

Baldini said:

“Against Udinese the coach also brought in Iling Junior, moving the Turkish midfielder. However, Juve has switched to 4-3-3 which I believe could be the formation of the future, as some transfer targets such as Felipe Anderson, Zaccagni and Gudmundsson himself suggest. Allegri had said that he would not change the 3-5-2, but a tactical shock could help in this difficult moment. First of all, the team needs a reaction from a psychological point of view, but this could also involve changes, perhaps to regain the lost enthusiasm.” ............

Former Juventus midfielder says it would be a shame if they finish fourth

Massimo Mauro rivela: 'Juventus-Massimiliano Allegri, c'è già un accordo' | ilbianconero.com

At the beginning of this season, Juventus set a clear target of finishing inside the top four. However, their strong performances throughout the campaign fueled hopes of contending for the league title. While Inter Milan has been the standout team, Juventus had a chance to compete closely. Unfortunately, in the last four games, the Bianconeri have failed to secure a victory, leading to a significant gap between them and Inter, bringing them closer to the fourth spot. ............

Former Juventus player Massimo Mauro expresses his reluctance to believe that Juventus will continue to struggle and finish in fourth position.

He said:

“The bad thing about Juve is that they had made the fans hope that they could stay alongside Inter for a long time. Instead, they have to watch their backs, because Atalanta has strength and enthusiasm. Allegri has always said they are aiming for fourth place, but at this point finishing fourth would be a shame.” ............

Juventus vs. Frosinone match preview: Time, TV schedule, and how to watch the Serie A

Max Allegri’s squad has one last chance to get a win in February. And it just so happens to come against a team that they’ve already beaten twice this season.

Juventus vs. Frosinone. Voorbeschouwing en Voorspelling - azscore.com

The good news as Juventus heads into Sunday’s lunchtime kickoff against Juventus B Frosinone is that the slate of fixtures in the month of February will be over in another 90 or so minutes of game time.

The bad news is what’s happened over these first three weeks of February.

By now, we all know the numbers that have been the end result of this suddenly terrible run of form — winless in four games, two points out of a possible 12 during that span, now nine points behind league leaders Inter Milan and just two points ahead of AC Milan in third place. Juventus’ first game of the month was a Derby d’Italia in which they could have jumped up into first place. But now, all of 20 days later, they head into another meeting with a relegation battler that’s sitting just outside the drop zone with the scope of this season having drastically changed.

And unlike last season when they had points snatched away from them by the FIGC, dropping so many points in such a short period of time is their own doing this time around. ............

In three of Juventus’ last four games, the opponents were ones like Juventus will be facing at Allianz Stadium on Sunday afternoon — at or near the bottom of the table and in pretty rough form. In those three games, Juventus did the following: draw against Empoli, loss to Udinese and, most recently, draw against Hellas Verona. On paper, these should have been games in which Juventus won and maybe even with a little bit of breathing room considering what they did against those same types of opponents just one month earlier in January. But nope, that’s not what happened, and a title race became anything but that. ............

And there’s also this simple fact: Sunday’s game against Frosinone will be one of the final matchups against a club that’s in the bottom half of the table. While the first two months of 2024 has been filled with relegation battlers and teams with double-digit table positions, the same can’t be said about Juventus’ schedule in March, April and May. There’s still top four battlers galore, with Milan, Atalanta, Fiorentina, Lazio and Roma still waiting for their second crack at Max Allegri’s squad this season. ............

Frosinone have only continued their struggles since Juve saw them two months ago right before Christmas. Starting with that 2-1 Juve win at the Benito Stripe, Frosinone have lost eight out of 10 games in all competitions, including a 4-0 beatdown from the Bianconeri in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals. They’ve allowed the most goals (18) over the last six games in the league. Over that same span, they’ve been outscored 18-7. ............

TEAM NEWS

  • ............ Allegri said Juve have two main goals for the rest of the season: “Qualification for the Champions League and trying to win the Coppa Italia.”
  • So how do you do that, Max? “We have to stay calm and focused and think about the months ahead,” he said.
  • When it comes to January signee Carlos Alcaraz making his first start in a Juventus shirt, Allegri said “he could play tomorrow although I have not yet decided whether from the start or not.”
  • Allegri said he wants to get back to winning. Same goes for us, Max.

JUVENTUS PLAYER TO WATCH

Something needs to change. Something, anything.

And while Allegri himself said there isn’t going to be any kind of drastic changes when it comes to his lineup, the Italian press is speculating that there could at least be one new name to jump into the fray against Frosinone.

So, with that, we say this: Hey, Charly!

Hellas Verona FC v Juventus - Serie A TIM

............ Alcaraz still has less than 30 minutes to his name in a Juventus jersey. His second appearance saw him play more than a couple of minutes, so that’s a start. It’s still far from what you would call an acceptable amount of time to actually form a first, genuine opinion on what kind of player he is as he settles in at Juventus, but it’s a start. ............

Alcaraz is the unknown. And that is why he’s interesting. He’s young and he’s talented, that is also why he’s interesting. We know what we’re going to get from just about every Juventus player on the roster ... except for Alcaraz simply because his first 25 minutes in bianconero are not nearly enough to actually form an opinion.

So if it’s Alcaraz coming into the lineup for somebody like Filip Kostic, which would then have Andrea Cambiaso out on the left and Weston McKennie kicked out onto the right wing, that feels like something that could work. You won’t actually know until you try it out, right?

Preview: Juventus vs. Frosinone

Juventus vs Frosinone - YouTube

Juve have picked up just two points from their last four Serie A matches, while the visitors lost a third straight game last week and are leaking goals left, right and centre.

Match preview

Trying to get back on track after two defeats and a draw, Juventus visited lowly Hellas Verona last weekend, when they had to respond twice after going behind at Stadio Bentegodi.

In-form Dusan Vlahovic scored from the spot, before Adrien Rabiot celebrated his 199th game for the club by levelling matters again shortly after the break - but there was to be more frustration for fans of the Bianconeri, who witnessed a disappointing 2-2 draw.

Only a subsequent slip-up by AC Milan saw Juve keep their grip on second place, and Inter Milan have moved further clear at the Serie A summit, so an overdue title challenge has slipped a little further from reach.

After putting together a series of five straight league wins - in addition to beating Frosinone in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals - Max Allegri's men have since failed to win any of their last four, including defeats to Inter and Udinese.

With Napoli and Atalanta BC next up - and a league-and-cup double-header with Lazio soon to follow - Juventus cannot continue in such a vein if they are to salvage something from a previously promising season.

Regardless of recent form, they will still expect to prevail in Sunday's lunchtime kickoff, having won their last four league meetings with Frosinone by an aggregate score of 9-1.

Not only is their record against Juve particularly bad, but Frosinone have also lost all nine previous games played against teams in Serie A's top two, scoring just once and conceding 25 times in the process.

On this occasion, Eusebio Di Francesco's squad - which features several promising players borrowed from bigger clubs, such as Juventus-owned trio Matias SouleEnzo Barrenechea and Kaio Jorge - will arrive at the Allianz Stadium aiming to end that trend and put a halt to their slide down the standings. ............

Team News

While Brazilian defender Bremer returns from a one-match ban, his compatriot Danilo is now out of action for Juventus due to an ankle injury, so either Daniele Rugani or Alex Sandro should feature in the hosts' back three.

Moise KeanMattia De Sciglio and Mattia Perin are still sidelined - all three may not be back until next month - but Max Allegri can name an otherwise unchanged XI if he so wishes.

Partnering either Federico Chiesa or Kenan Yildiz up front, Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic is Serie A's top marksman in 2024 - his seven strikes are already just three fewer than he managed throughout all of 2023. ............

Juventus possible starting lineup:
Szczesny; Gatti, Bremer, Sandro; Cambiaso, McKennie, Locatelli, Rabiot, Kostic; Yildiz, Vlahovic

Frosinone possible starting lineup:
Turati; Zortea, Monterisi, Okoli, Valeri; Mazzitelli, Barrenechea, Brescianini; Soule, Jorge, Harroui ............

We say: Juventus 3-1 Frosinone

After an unexpected delay, Max Allegri could finally become the first coach in Serie A history to top 1000 points. Currently on 999, his Juventus side have stumbled in recent weeks, but the off-colour Canarini could prove perfect opponents.

Pundit warns Juventus about underestimating Frosinone

Italia - Serie A: Juventus vs Frosinone Fecha 26 | Serie A | Futbolred

Juventus is set to face Frosinone in their upcoming Serie A game this weekend, and a cautionary note has been sounded against underestimating their opponents.

Having been promoted this season, Frosinone’s primary objective is to secure their place in the Italian top flight for the next season. Juventus currently has some players on loan at Frosinone, with standout performances, particularly from Matias Soule, contributing to a successful season for the club. ............

Pundit Stefano Impallomeni has issued a warning to Juventus, urging them not to underestimate the Frosinone team in the upcoming fixture.

He said:

“Certainly putting the three strikers on the field is a card that the Juventus coach could compete, but at the same time, he will have to pay attention to the balance. It is absolutely forbidden for Juventus to underestimate Frosinone, a team that often plays well and creates a lot, they can play a great match. A change of formation by Allegri In any case, I expect it, we’ll see what happens on Sunday.” ............

Juventus vs Frosinone Calcio: Preview and Prediction

Watch Juventus vs. Frosinone Calcio Online: Live Stream, Start Time | 2/25/2024

Juventus will aim to get their Serie A title challenge back on track when they take on Frosinone Calcio on Saturday.

Having picked up just two points from their last four Serie A matches, Juventus will welcome minnows Frosinone Calcio to the Allianz Stadium in a bid to get back to winning ways.

The visitors are not in great form themselves, having lost three league games on the spin. They are just three points off the drop zone and will be keen to end their poor run as soon as possible.

Frosinone have the third-worst goal difference in the league, something that could prove decisive given how close the teams are to each other in the lower half of the table. On paper, Juventus are the clear favourites going into the game. but Frosinone can take heart from the fact that the Bianconeri could only draw against 18th-placed Hellas Verona last weekend.

Juventus are nine points off Inter Milan at the top of the summit, having played a game more. Any further slip-ups will more or less end their chances of securing a first Scudetto in four years.

Both teams have faced off twice this season, once in the league and one in the Coppa Italia. Juventus won 2-1 in the reverse fixture at the Stadio Benito Stirpe, while also securing a 4-0 win in the Coppa Italia clash in Turin. They will now fancy a third triumph as they aim to get the league campaign back on track. ............

Team News & Tactics

Juventus

Juventus won a ninth straight Scudetto in 2020 but have since seen Inter Milan, AC Milan, and Napoli finish on top. The title race this season appeared to be between the Bianconeri and Inter Milan, but the former has fallen by the wayside in recent weeks.

A poor run of just two points from four games has seen Inter Milan open up a significant chasm at the summit of Serie A. Juventus will need to be near perfect for the remainder of the campaign to be in a position to take advantage of any of the Nerazzurri’s slip-ups.

Star centre-back Gleison Bremer will return after a one game suspension, while Danilo is out with an ankle injury. He joins the injured trio of Moise Kean, Mattia Perin, and Mattia De Sciglio, who are all sidelines for the game.

Massimiliano Allegri is likely to form up his side in a 3-5-2 formation, with Wojciech Szczesny in goal. He should be protected by the back-three of Federico Gatti, Gleison Bremer, and Alex Sandro. Andrea Cambiaso and Filip Kostic should act as the wing-backs providing width on the night.

Manuel Locatelli should act as the midfield anchor, with Adrien Rabiot and Weston McKennie making up numbers in the middle of the park. Dusan Vlahovic should start upfront alongside Kenan Yıldız. Federico Chiesa and Arkadiusz Milik should offer options off the bench if needed.

Probable Lineup (3-5-2): Szczesny; Gatti, Bremer, Sandro; Cambiaso, McKennie, Locatelli, Rabiot, Kostic; Yildiz, Vlahovic

Juventus vs Frosinone Calcio: Preview and Prediction.

Frosinone Calcio

Probable Lineup (4-3-3): Turati; Zortea, Monterisi, Okoli, Valeri; Mazzitelli, Barrenechea, Brescianini; Soule, Jorge, Harroui

Juventus vs Frosinone Calcio: Preview and Prediction.

Key Stats

  • Frosinone Calcio have never beaten Juventus in the Serie A.
  • Frosinone Calcio have lost all the games played against teams in the Serie A top two that particular matchday.
  • Failure to win on the night will see Juventus go five league games without a win for just the second time in the last 14 years.
  • Since December, Frosinone have conceded 31 goals in Serie A this season, more than nay other side this campaign.
  • Since December, Frosinone have lost nine games in Serie A this season, the joint-most for any side in the Italian top flight.

Player to Watch

Dusan Vlahovic

............ Vlahovic has eight goals and one assist in his last eight Serie A starts and is a man in form. He scored last time out against Hellas Verona and will be keen to keep that run going.

Prediction

Juventus 2-0 Frosinone Calcio

Juventus and Frosinone are going through a rut and will be keen to return to winning ways. Given the difference in quality between both the teams, Juventus are the heavy favourites for the match-up.

Frosinone defeated Napoli earlier this season, showing their ability to pull off a shock. However, Juventus are a far tougher opposition with a point to prove.

Allegri insists his team does not need any changes

Serie A 2023-2024: Frosinone-Juventus, the likely lineups - Sportal.eu

There have been numerous suggestions that Max Allegri needs to make changes to the Juventus system for the team to regain its form in the coming weeks. The current period represents Juventus’s worst run of form since the beginning of the season, with difficulties in securing victories over the past few weeks. ............

While there are expectations for Allegri to consider adjustments to the playing personnel or formation, the Bianconeri manager insists that his team does not require significant changes.

Asked if he will play with four at the back, Allegri said:

“No also because we always defend at 4 and we don’t have to change anything.” ............

Injury time Rugani strike ends Juventus winless run

Rugani-Frosinone.jpg

Juventus’ much-awaited game against Frosinone started with the Bianconeri taking the lead before some fans were even settled in their seats, as Dusan Vlahovic scored the opener after just three minutes. However, Frosinone was not going to make life easy for the Bianconeri and equalised eleven minutes later, stunning the Allianz Stadium.

Frosinone was inspired by that equaliser and scored the next goal to take the lead against a Juve side that lacked confidence. To make matters worse for the Old Lady, Adrien Rabiot pulled up after the goal and had to be replaced by Carlos Alcaraz. The Argentine made an almost instant impact as he was involved in the next goal, with Vlahovic scoring again to pull Juve level at 2-2. ............

Juve kept asking questions, and the Bianconeri finally scored with the last kick of the game, thanks to a poacher’s goal from Daniele Rugani. The Bianconeri have returned to form, thanks to an unlikely hero, and Inter Milan can feel the pressure again. :|

Juventus Player Ratings vs Frosinone: Rugani the Unlikely Hero

RRI.co.id - Juventus Vs Frosinone, Nyonya Tua Menang Dramatis 3-2

 ............

Juventus (3-5-2)

Wojciech Szczesny – 5

The former Arsenal man reacted slowly on the first Frosinone goal, but the power took it past him on the second. Frosinone never gave him the chance to atone afterwards.

Federico Gatti – 6.5

The former Frosinone man kept driving forward to support his team’s attacks. Instigated the opening goal and almost scored another himself.

Gleison Bremer – 6

The Brazilian seemed impeded by an early booking which forced him to remain on the safe side of the action. A decent outing overall, even if it wasn’t his most convincing.

Daniele Rugani – 7

The Italian defender emerged as the unlikely hero with a last-minute winner that even the most prolific of strikers would have been proud of given the acute angle. Perhaps he could have done better on Frosinone’s second goal, but he certainly made amends by claiming the first Juventus winner in several weeks.

Andrea Cambiaso – 6

 ............

Weston McKennie – 6.5

An action-packed day for the USMNT star who delivered two assists to Vlahovic, but almost gifted the opponents a goal with a careless pass at the back. He rectified his mistake with a suicidal block, but it earned him a shoulder injury.

Manuel Locatelli – 5.5

 ............

Adrien Rabiot – 5.5

The stand-in Juventus captain sustained a knock in the first half that cut his outing short before he could even produce anything noteworthy.

Filip Kostic – 5

 ............

Federico Chiesa – 5

The Italian is enduring a torrid run and just doesn’t seem to be capable of pulling off the spectaculars at the moment.

Dusan Vlahovic – 8

Kudos to Rugani for scoring the winner, but Vlahovic was easily the Man of the Match. Took his two goals exceptionally well, kept urging his teammates forward, and eventually flicked the header which proved to be the assist for the valuable winner.

Substitutes

Carlos Alcaraz – 5.5

The young Argentine lacked precision in his shooting and passing but always looked to advance the play.

Timothy Weah – 5.5

 ............

Kenan Yildiz – 5

A forgettable afternoon for the teenager who replaced Chiesa without providing any upgrade.

Samuel Iling-Junior – 6.5

The Englishman turned out to be the winning card for Juventus. Helped the team win a corner kick and his delivery culminated in the last-minute winner.

Arkadiusz Milik – N/A

Pundit insists Juventus struggled despite defeating Frosinone

juve-frosinone.jpg

Pundit Alessandro Santarelli insists he would have called for Max Allegri’s sacking if Juventus had not beaten Frosinone, emphasising that their performance was subpar. ............

Despite taking the lead, the home side found themselves pegged back, and Frosinone even led the game 2-1 at some point. Santarelli argues that Juve’s overall performance in the fixture falls short of that expected from a team aiming to re-enter the Serie A title race.

They eventually scored the winning goal through Daniel Rugani, but that did not satisfy Santarelli, who said:

“Despite Rugani’s goal, it was a difficult performance to comment on: in the event of a non-victory I would have asked for the coach’s immediate dismissal. He continues to be seriously worried after this performance which you can’t do against Frosinone at home.

“The second half disheartened me, only Vlahovic and Mckennie are saved who are on 8, after all, I don’t save anything. Alcaraz was also good and showed determination, but maybe there’s a reason if someone played in the Championship”. ............

Allegri insists the most important thing was to get three points

Allegri: 'Juventus must defend differently, no Chiesa problems' - Football Italia

Max Allegri insists that the most crucial aspect is Juventus securing a victory against Frosinone and earning all three points in their quest to secure a Champions League spot. ............

Acknowledging the significance of the match, Allegri stressed the importance of not losing to Frosinone. Despite a bright start with an early lead, the game proved to be challenging, and the Bianconeri could have settled for a 2-2 draw if Daniele Rugani had not scored the late winner.

Allegri is delighted his team won, and after the final whistle, he said:

“There are also these moments, we just need to work on it and start doing what we did before. At the moment it’s like this and we will try to reverse the trend, just as today it was important to win and because they are three important points for the Champions League race. And above all we remove ourselves from these four games where we only had two points.” ............

Juventus made winning the Scudetto easier for Inter says ex midfielder

Di-Livio.jpg

Angelo Di Livio has expressed disappointment with how Juventus has navigated this season after encountering a rough patch that effectively terminated their title challenge.

The Bianconeri have played second fiddle in Serie A for much of this season and earlier posed a serious challenge to Inter Milan.

However, in recent weeks, they have dropped valuable points, allowing Inter to establish a considerable gap between the two clubs. ............

He said:

“I’m angry with Juventus, they made Inter’s championship too easy. I knew that the Nerazzurri would win the Scudetto, but it could still have bothered the Nerazzurri. Thus they gave a free path to Inzaghi’s team. It’s a difficult moment for the Bianconeri and on Sunday against Napoli, it will be a very difficult match. Last year I ran home to see Napoli: from an aesthetic point of view, it was something spectacular. In fact, many great European coaches only spoke about Spalletti’s Napoli.” ............

Luciano Moggi gives his prediction on the Juventus-Napoli game

Ex-Juve chief gets jail - Eurosport

Luciano Moggi insists that Juventus will face a challenging match against Napoli this weekend, especially with the return of Victor Osimhen from the AFCON. While Osimhen’s first half of the season may not have been outstanding, his performance since returning from the AFCON has been formidable. ............

Napoli’s recent 6-1 victory against Sassuolo, in which Osimhen scored a hattrick, underscores his contribution to the team’s success.

While Juventus struggled to secure a 3-2 victory against Frosinone in their last game, Napoli’s impressive form, fueled by Osimhen’s return, has given them a boost. Moggi believes Napoli has a slight advantage in the upcoming match, making it a must-win for both clubs.

He said:

“It does not become a balanced match but becomes a match between the Napoli attack and the Juventus defence, and here it is a totally different matter. The Neapolitan team has now recovered self-esteem, even with the draw against Barcelona, and the presence of Osimhen practically gives courage to everyone, so it will be a difficult match for Juventus and a match which however could also end in a draw. However, if you ask me the prediction I see the slight favourite in Naples now”. ............

Napoli vs. Juventus: Head-to-head record and past meetings

PES 2024 - Napoli vs Juventus Gameplay PC | eFootball 2024 Concept - PES 2021 Mods - YouTube

Napoli and Juventus lock horns once more for a fixture that is always keenly anticipated in the Serie A calendar on Sunday night.

After the glory of claiming a first Scudetto in over three decades last season, Napoli have been unable to replicate that success, with their hopes of even finishing in the top four looking slim as they are now on their third permanent manager of the season in Francesco Calzona.

Juve's hope of a first Scudetto in four seasons also appear to be over given Inter Milan's form, ahead of a fixture that has so often got them over the line when chasing titles over the past decade. ............

Head-to-head record

Previous meetings: 181
Napoli wins: 46
Draws: 50
Juventus wins: 85

It was Napoli who got the better of the Old Lady last season in their two key battles which proved that Luciano Spalletti's men were the best in the land.

Before their 10-point deduction and in the midst of an excellent run of form, Juventus travelled to the Maradona with hopes of closing the gap, but were blown away as Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia put on a masterclass in 5-1 Napoli win last January.

Massimiliano Allegri's side never truly recovered from that humbling, and when they were beaten again by the Partenopei on home soil in April thanks to Giacomo Raspadori's late strike, that virtually sealed the title for Napoli. ............

Sacchi says it is unfair to expect Juventus to compete with Inter Milan

Serie A 2023-2024: Inter-Juventus, the likely lineups - Sportal.eu

Arrigo Sacchi insists that Inter Milan stands in a league of their own, and criticising Juventus and AC Milan for not competing with them at the top of the league standings is nearly senseless.

Simone Inzaghi’s Inter Milan has been outstanding this season and is poised to rightfully claim the title as champions of Italy.

While Juventus resisted allowing a significant points gap between them and Inter Milan for a considerable time, their title challenge eventually faded, and they are no longer considered contenders. ............

He said:

“Inter are playing spectacular, modern, European football. And it’s not right to criticize Milan and Juve because they can’t keep up with the Nerazzurri. But you have to know how to read the situations and operate accordingly “Milan will have to sign functional players at the right price. But to do so, competence is needed in those who decide, therefore in the managers.” ............
