Juventus plan to reopen stadium

Juventus, lo Stadium è un tesoro da 60 milioni a stagione- Video Gazzetta.it

Sep 2, 2020

Juventus have presented a viable plan to get season ticket holders back into the stadium from the opening round of the Serie A season.

All competitive games have been played behind closed doors in Italy since the lockdown in early March, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The news of a plan to re-open the Allianz Juventus Stadium was confirmed by the regional assembly of Piedmont and their governor Alberto Cirio.

“We can return to normality, with the utmost respect for the rules and prevention of further contagion,” Cirio told news agency Ansa.

“The objective of the club is to be ready for the first game.” ....

PM Conte: 'Fans in stadiums inopportune' :103:

Il virus colpisce anche la Serie A, Rugani positivo | BlogSicilia - Ultime notizie dalla Sicilia

Sep 5, 2020

Prime Minister of Italy Giuseppe Conte shot down calls to allow season ticket holders into Serie A games as ‘inopportune’ during the COVID-19 pandemic.

There are growing appeals to allow at least 1,000 supporters into stadiums, especially after Napoli, Parma and Sampdoria had similar numbers in the stands for pre-season friendlies.

They all wore masks and practiced social distancing in an open air setting, while Juventus and the Piedmont regional assembly presented a formal request to let some supporters in for the first Serie A game of the season against Sampdoria.

“As far as I am concerned, presence at a stadium or any other large gathering where close contact is inevitable, not just at the event itself, but while entering and exiting, is absolutely inopportune,” PM Conte told Il Fatto newspaper. ....

Pjaca scores in Juventus friendly

171852366-254e5d35-651e-4d5a-9d37-39b2b7

Sep 5, 2020

Juventus tested a 4-3-3 formation in a 1-0 friendly win against the Bianconeri U-23 team, with Marko Pjaca scoring the only goal.

New coach Andrea Pirlo has also been working on a potential return to three at the back, but stuck with Maurizio Sarri’s 4-3-3 in this 60-minute run-out.

Right-back Juan Cuadrado was given more freedom to push forward, at which point the defence moved to three.

According to reports, Arthur Melo played in front of the defence in what used to be Miralem Pjanic’s role. ....

Juventus ask to reopen stadium against Samp

La Juve non molla, chiesta la riapertura dello Stadium contro la Sampdoria: capienza di 1000 persone

Sep 11, 2020

Juventus have, according to Sky Sport Italia, submitted a request to the Piedmont Region, asking to reopen the stadium for up to 1000 people against Sampdoria.

The latest decree allows sporting events to have a limit of 1000 spectators, as demonstrated by the friendly match between Parma and Empoli.

But the terms included in the latest decree, approved by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, did not favour reopening stadiums in Serie A. They are initially set to be closed until October 7. ....

Up to 1,000 fans in all Serie A games

Juventus, Agnelli: "No all'ampliamento dello Stadium: la capienza è giusta" | Calcio e Finanza

Sep 19, 2020

The Italian Government has agreed to open up Serie A games to a maximum of 1,000 spectators until another review on October 7.

Several regional authorities in Emilia-Romagna, Veneto and Lombardy had already passed individual rulings, so the pressure helped the Government and Minister for Sport Vincenzo Spadafora to follow suit.

It stands to reason, because the current COVID-19 lockdown rules allow up to 1,000 people to attend open-air events, such as concerts and theatre productions. ......

Andrea Pirlo makes his coaching debut with some very surprising changes, starting Weston McKennie, Dejan Kulusevski and Gianluca Frabotta against Sampdoria.

It kicks off in Turin at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

Pirlo has his first ever game as a coach, having earned his badges only a few days ago, and is up against Claudio Ranieri, who today marks his 400th Serie A match.

Il Maestro is thrown in at the deep end with a team seeking its 10th consecutive Scudetto, replacing sacked Maurizio Sarri, and he switches to a 3-4-3 formation.

Paulo Dybala, Matthijs de Ligt, Alex Sandro and Federico Bernardeschi are out injured, so after Gonzalo Higuain left for Inter Miami and with problems holding up Edin Dzeko’s move from Roma, the Bianconeri have no centre-forwards.

Instead, Cristiano Ronaldo and newcomer Kulusevski lead the way, with Juan Cuadrado and 21-year-old Frabotta on the wings, Luca Pellegrini not even on the bench ahead of a probable Genoa loan. ......

Kulusevski’s corner saw both Bonucci and McKennie go for the header, the American’s shot was well saved from close range by Audero, who could do nothing when Bonucci turned in the rebound. .....

Pirlo: 'It's about Juventus balance'

pirlo intervista juventus-sampdoria 3-0

Sep 20, 2020

Andrea Pirlo explained his surprise picks and tactics for the Juventus debut against Sampdoria. ‘It’s about finding the right balance, but we want to use as much talent as possible.’

It was not a bad way to start his first ever game as a coach, just days after getting his badges, fielding a fluid formation with players switching roles, and a 3-0 victory over Samp.

Dejan Kulusevski’s snooker shot opened the scoring, with Leonardo Bonucci and Cristiano Ronaldo rounding out the result in the second half.

“It’s important to dialogue with players, as I was a player until a few years ago and I always liked to discuss with them. It’s important everyone knows what they want and think,” Pirlo told Sky Sport Italia. .....

Serie A – Roma vs Juventus Preview & Prediction

Roma vs Juventus: Serie A, how and where to watch, times, TV, online - AS.com

Sep 25, 2020

Roma only have themselves to blame after a registration error meant they had to concede a 3-0 defeat to Hellas Verona in their opener but they have to shake that off as they now face the reigning champions.

Juve kicked off their season in typical style last weekend by recording a resounding win over Sampdoria. They know they that every point counts given the fact they only narrowly won the title last season and they’ll want to make a statement in the early part of the season and send a message out to the likes of Internazionale, Lazio and Atalanta.

There is the potential for Roma to play like a wounded animal here and that could be dangerous but you still fancy the visitors to do a professional job and take three points back to Turin. .....

Pirlo: 'Dybala worked with us, he’s coming back gradually.'

Sep 26, 2020

Andrea Pirlo says Juventus ‘haven’t been affected in the slightest’ by the Luis Suarez saga and is delighted to land Alvaro Morata, who was a ‘priority’.

Pirlo debuted as Juve coach with a 3-0 win against Sampdoria last week and he is happy with how his squad is adjusting to his methods, amidst the media frenzy of Suarez’s failed move.

“We’ve had a good week of work, better than the last one,” he said at a press conference for tomorrow’s Serie A match against Roma.

“We’ve upped the intensity and the lads responded well. The rest hasn’t affected us in the slightest.

“Dybala worked with us, he’s coming back gradually. We’ll see how he is today, he pulled through a heavy workload.

“We’ll decide in the afternoon whether to bring him with us or leave him behind so he can keep training. .....

It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT). ......

Juventus have been totally revamped by coach Andrea Pirlo, who changes the side that beat Sampdoria 3-0 in the opening round.

Gianluca Frabotta is benched, Dejan Kulusevski moved to the right wing-back role, Juan Cuadrado to the left.

It could also be a 4-4-2, but reports suggest a 3-5-2.

Morata is thrown straight into the starting XI with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Matthijs de Ligt, Alex Sandro and Federico Bernardeschi are still out of action, with Paulo Dybala only fit enough for the bench.

Roma 2-2 Juventus: CR7 twice replies to Roma

Immagine

Sep 27, 2020

Cristiano Ronaldo and Jordan Veretout scored a brace each, as Juventus twice pegged back Roma for a 2-2 draw, even after Adrien Rabiot saw red.

The Bianconeri made one change from the side that beat Sampdoria 3-0, Morata straight into the starting XI for Gianluca Frabotta, but the tactics were again very fluid with Dejan Kulusevski moved to the right and Juan Cuadrado on the left. Matthijs de Ligt, Alex Sandro and Federico Bernardeschi were still injured, Paulo Dybala not fully fit.

Juve were also awarded a penalty for an obvious handball, as Lorenzo Pellegrini left his arm dangling to intercept the ball when Ronaldo ran into the box. CR7 converted it himself, sending Antonio Mirante the wrong way to side-foot into the corner.

Ronaldo hung in the air for an age to get his head to the Danilo cross, leaping above Bruno Peres, making it 2-2 for 10-man Juventus and completing his brace.

As time wore on, it was difficult to tell Juventus were down to 10 men, as they came away from the Olimpico with a point.

Ronaldo: 'Important point for Juventus'

Watch Cristiano Ronaldo score outrageous header and 'leap like prime Jordan' as Juventus star makes goalscoring history

Sep 27, 2020

Cristiano Ronaldo believes the 2-2 draw at Roma could ‘prove to be an important point’ after Juventus went down to 10 men.

The Bianconeri twice got back on level terms after Jordan Veretout goals, with a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty and towering header, even after Adrien Rabiot was sent off.

“I think it is a point earned. It had become a complicated situation, we got back into it, even after the red card, so by the end of the campaign this could prove to be an important point,” Ronaldo told Sky Sport Italia. ......

Pirlo: 'A step back for Juventus'

Juventus, Pirlo 'massacrato' dopo la Roma | Il tecnico risponde sui social

Sep 27, 2020

Andrea Pirlo admits the 2-2 draw with Roma was ‘a step back’ in terms of performance for Juventus, but ‘we are a work in progress’ and explains what didn’t quite work.
