Roma won today to come up to one point behind the Bianconeri, and manager Massimiliano Allegri insisted that the destination of the title must be settled on Sunday without further delay. “We want to celebrate the Scudetto tomorrow. We must win the Scudetto tomorrow. “We emerge from the Coppa Italia Final with an extraordinary result, as nobody had ever won three in a row, and that gave us remarkable strength to go forward. “The team had two good training sessions, tomorrow will be a great performance and it will be the Scudetto winner.” Tomorrow’s opponents Crotone have played well in recent games - “Crotone have put together 17 points in their last seven games, I think 10 points from four away fixtures, they have conceded very few goals and are extremely dangerous on the counter-attack. “The team needs to play with calm, but also the determination we saw after the defeat to Roma.” He then gave a squad update - “Paulo Dybala is fine. Tomorrow we’ll have Gianluigi Buffon in goal, Dani Alves, Leonardo Bonucci, Girgio Chiellini and Alex Sandro in defence. “Claudio Marchisio recovered well from the Coppa Italia Final and tomorrow he will play.” Allegri spoke about how his team has played in this crunch month so far - “I am satisfied with what the lads are doing. We’re in a wonderful moment of the campaign, tomorrow we need the fans to be behind us, as it’s the most important game of the season, the one that decides the Scudetto. “A Final is not a game you play, it is one you win. I told the lads we’re sick of the sight of each other, so let’s finish the Scudetto and we can all have a few days off! Then after that we can prepare for Cardiff. “The entire season has been crucial. We made big changes midway through, we won some games when not playing that well, so winning ugly with character. “This is the moment when we have to grab the bull by the horns. Cardiff comes later, tomorrow we need to focus on the Scudetto.” Including the loss to Roma last week, Juve have failed to win in the last three rounds - “There is no scientific explanation. It might be a psychological one, that the team has been pushing so hard and we conceded a daft goal against Atalanta at the end. “Football is like this, at times you win games you don’t deserve and lose ones you do. Against Roma the second half performance was the issue and the Coppa Italia Final was the reaction to that, so I expect to see that same approach tomorrow.” http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Juventus lifted their first trophy Wednesday evening, when they defeated Lazio 2-0 to win their third consecutive Coppa Italia trophy. It was a victory that was heavily celebrated, with the club, its squad and the many members of management reaping the rewards for a brilliant project that started more than six years ago. A team built carefully, a dressing room famous for its harmonious atmosphere and a coach who must be recognised as one of the best in the world, Juventus believe in the Treble. It started with that win against Lazio and will continue Sunday evening when the Bianconeri host Crotone. Should they win, it will be two down and one to go. Crotone have often been described as the newly promoted side predicted to go down. Lacking in audacious talent and the experience of navigating the tough matches within the top flight, few imagined that the side who had collected only 10 points from their opening 20 matches would have a chance of surviving. Some 16 matches later, Davide Nicola's side are not only picking up points but also threatening both Genoa and Empoli ahead of them, and they could avoid relegation if they continue picking up points in their remaining two matches. Nicola is the type of coach who reaffirms your faith in the game. A football romantic who refuses to surrender, he saw something in Crotone that no one else could see. Refusing to give up on his men and their potential, the coach's blind faith has proved infectious, and his men are playing with the type of belief that usually belongs in the upper echelons of football. Collecting 17 points in their past seven matches, Crotone have gone undefeated since the start of April and are more excited than intimidated at the prospect of facing Juventus away from home. Relishing the prospect of providing the league leaders with a challenge in hopes of throwing a spanner in the works, Crotone are looking to cause a stir and could prove threatening. Juve are quite possibly the best team in Europe at the moment, and when they play with determination and ambition, they cannot be stopped. However, after such a long season that has proved mentally and physically exhausting, the side has surrendered to mediocrity in the games they deem undeserving of their collective might. Massimiliano Allegri has made himself clear. There is no more time to waste, and Juventus must absolutely win their last home match and allow themselves time to relax and celebrate before they must prepare for Real Madrid in the competition that means the most to them. The coach is not taking any chances, and Sunday afternoon, all his best men will line up in hopes of wrapping up the Serie A title for a sixth consecutive season. Set to play their usual 4-2-3-1 formation, no star player will be rested, and offensive football will be the aim. Leading the line will be Gonzalo Higuain, who has been voted season MVP by the fans. The striker has equalled both Alessandro Del Piero and David Trezeguet's record of goals scored in a single season at Juventus. If Higuain manages to score five more, he will equal the all-time record set by Felice Borel, who managed 37 for the club in the 1933-34 season. The striker has truly lived up to expectations and was worth the money spent by the club. He has not only scored the goals but also reinforced the winning mentality. Sacrificing himself for the side and striking up a beautiful partnership with Paulo Dybala, the Argentine has proved tactically intelligent and technically gifted. Although his two goals against Monaco in the Champions League semifinals have helped the player shrug off the reputation of not scoring in big games, more is expected from him, especially when the time comes to face Real Madrid, his former side, in the UCL final. A great addition to the squad, Higuain deserves the plaudits, but it's vital that another new addition is celebrated for the role he has played in pushing Juventus further toward their dream. Dani Alves has been described as the best right-back in the game, and if the fans didn't believe that to be true at the start of the season, they certainly agree with that assessment now. A player who is, remarkably, gunning for his third treble, Alves has produced the goods both on and off the pitch, helping the team believe in their abilities to compete and win against the best. While Barcelona and the press within the country wonder why the club let go of such an impactful player, Alves is spending his time delivering fine assists, producing passionate displays and scoring with great technique. A player who has won 27 of the 30 finals he has contested and is set to make history if he wins his third Treble, it was wrong to ever doubt him. Alves might never be the strongest defender to have played the game, but no player has commanded the right flank with as much authority as he has managed in recent years. Although Higuain might be the star, Alves deserves a mention for the impact he has made in his first season in the Bianconeri jersey. A victory against Crotone and the club can celebrate yet again. It's time to finish the season in style. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

It kicks off in Turin at 15.00 CET - 14.00 UK time (13.00 GMT). The Bianconeri are fresh from a 2-0 Coppa Italia Final victory over Lazio on Wednesday night, the first step in a potential Treble, and the second could arrive today. Max Allegri’s men would clinch the title – an all-time record sixth in a row – with a victory this afternoon. However, the gap has been closed to just one point, as Roma won 5-3 at Chievo yesterday and Napoli beat Fiorentina 4-1. Juve have hit the brakes lately, picking up just two draws in the last three rounds, and that has sent this race practically down to the wire. Sami Khedira is on the bench as he recovers from a muscular problem, while Marko Pjaca and Daniele Rugani are out for the rest of the season. Allegri is taking no chances and picks his strongest available side, returning Dani Alves to the right-back role after several games played further forward, so Juan Cuadrado returns to the line-up. He had announced that Giorgio Chiellini would start in defence, but Medhi Benatia is used as a precaution. Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic also support Capocannoniere candidate Gonzalo Higuain. Crotone are no pushovers, as they put together 17 points from the last seven rounds, more than any other Serie A side during that period. They are unbeaten since a last-gasp 1-0 defeat to Fiorentina on March 19, beating Inter with draws against Milan and Torino, winning three of their last four away fixtures. Adrian Stoian is still unavailable, as he’s in hospital following a viral infection, while Marcello Trotta is not 100 per cent fit. Coach Davide Nicola said in yesterday’s Press conference that Crotone were “just like Rango,” the cartoon chameleon who went beyond expectations. Top scorer Diego Falcinelli leads the attack with support from Aleksandar Tonev. These clubs have only met on three previous occasions between Serie A and B, Juve winning all of them by scoring 10 goals and not conceding any. The Bianconeri know that a victory will secure their sixth consecutive Scudetto, but the gap was reduced to one point after Roma’s 5-3 win at Chievo yesterday. Max Allegri’s side amassed only two draws from the last three rounds, but were fresh from Wednesday’s Coppa Italia Final success against Lazio. Crotone were desperate to avoid the drop and amassed 17 points from a seven-game unbeaten run, the best form in Serie A. Sami Khedira was only fit for the bench after a muscular problem, while Marko Pjaca and Daniele Rugani were long-term absentees. Dani Alves was returned to the right-back role after a spell filling in for Juan Cuadrado. Marcello Trotta was not fully fit, so Aleksandar Tonev partnered Crotone’s top scorer Diego Falcinelli. These clubs had met three times, including two in the 2006-07 Serie B campaign, and Juve won all of them with 10 goals scored and none conceded. Medhi Benatia got an early block on the Aleksandar Tonev counter, while Miralem Pjanic’s free kick was off target. Juventus took the lead with their birthday boy Mario Mandzukic, who got there ahead of Aleandro Rosi to meet a low Juan Cuadrado cross from the right at the back post. Fabio Sampirisi managed to toe-poke the ball away from Mandzukic as he was lining up the second goal, just moments after coming off the bench for injured Aleandro Rosi. Paulo Dybala did double Juve’s lead with a magnificent free kick curled into the near top corner, giving Alex Cordaz no chance. Gonzalo Higuain tried to lob Cordaz from a huge distance, while Bruno Martella sprinted back to stop one of Cuadrado’s solo slaloms. There was a huge scare just before half-time, as Diego Falcinelli’s effort was deflected off Benatia’s back and left Gigi Buffon stranded, skimming the far top corner. Juve's 3-1 defeat at Roma last weekend and Crotone's excellent recent form suggested it may be a tricky afternoon for Massimiliano Allegri's men, but it turned into a stroll in the Turin sunshine for the Bianconeri. Mario Mandzukic celebrated his 31st birthday by putting Juve in front and a stunning free-kick from Paulo Dybala made it 2-0 at the break. Alex Sandro capped a wonderful afternoon with a late third. While Juve can now turn their focus towards the Champions League final against Real Madrid on June 3, Crotone will go into the final weekend with their Serie A status still uncertain. Victories against Pescara and Udinese in their last two outings had given the Calabrian club renewed hope, but there was never any realistic chance of them stunning the champions, who bossed proceedings from the outset. Miralem Pjanic fired a 25-yard free-kick over the top after seven minutes before the party atmosphere moved up a notch when Mandzukic put the home side in front five minutes later. Juan Cuadrado found space down the right and his teasing cross eluded Gonzalo Higuain but not Mandzukic, who got across his marker Aleandro Rosi and fired high into the net. Crotone offered fleeting glimpses of attacking threat with Juve dominating the ball and only stout defending from the visitors prevented Higuain from doubling the hosts' advantage on two occasions. The pressure eventually told six minutes before the break as Dybala curled home a wonderful, left-footed free-kick for his 10th Serie A goal of another hugely impressive season. Crotone's best chance came in first-half injury time as Diego Falcinelli's shot struck the back of Leonardo Bonucci and flew inches wide of Gianluigi Buffon's right-hand post with the Italy goalkeeper rooted to the spot. Cuadrado tested Alex Cordaz at his near post after 46 minutes, while Dybala had an effort correctly ruled out for offside 10 minutes later. Pjanic fired high and wide when well placed as Juve hunted a third goal that duly arrived with seven minutes to go, Alex Sandro's powerful header hitting the crossbar with goal-line technology confirming the ball had crossed the line. Genoa 0-0 Napoli [Week 5] The Bianconeri’s defeat at Inter in Week 4 had allowed Napoli to move to the top of Serie A, and the Partenopei had to press home their advantage. Marek Hamsik hit the post after 19 minutes at the Marassi, while Mattia Perin put in a fine performance in the Genoa goal. Maurizio Sarri’s side couldn’t make the breakthrough though, and Juve’s 4-0 win over Cagliari sent them back to the top of the table. They would remain there until the end. Juventus 1-0 Roma [Week 17] With the Bianconeri having a week off before the winter break to play the Supercoppa Italiana, Roma had the chance to close the gap at the top of the table to just one point if they could win in Turin and then defeat Chievo. The Giallorossi though had lost on their last six trips to Juventus Stadium, and Gonzalo Higuain ensured it would be seven with a stunning left-footed strike in the first half. The Lupi pushed hard in the second half, but in truth they never laid a glove and it already felt like the Scudetto was slipping away. Juventus 2-0 Lazio [Week 21] Having lost the Supercoppa Italiana to Milan in Doha, Max Allegri’s men were played off the park by Fiorentina in Florence. Coach Massimiliano Allegri responded by fielding all of his attackers in a ‘Mad Max’ 4-2-3-1 shape, and he was rewarded with a comfortable 2-0 win over Lazio. Aside from the odd tweak here and there, Allegri stuck with the formation, and the Old Lady won her next seven Serie A games, remaining unbeaten until the defeat to Roma in Week 36. [Week 22] Sampdoria 3-2 Roma and Napoli 1-1 Palermo When Napoli and Roma look back on the season, they will point to Week 22 as the moment where Juventus left them in the dust. The Partenopei welcomed relegation doomed Palermo to San Paolo, but fell behind to an Ilija Nestorovski header. Following Dries Mertens’ equaliser, the Neapolitans laid siege to the Palermo goal, but they were unable to find a breakthrough. Things were even worse for Roma in Genoa a few hours previously, as they fell to a shock defeat to Sampdoria. The Giallorossi led twice, but were pegged back each time and Luis Muriel hit a 73rd minute winner. Roma 1-1 Atalanta [Week 32] There was to be no Easter resurrection for Roma, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Atalanta and slipped eight points behind. Jasmin Kurtic put the Orobici ahead after 22 minutes, as the Lupi simply failed to show up for the first half. Spalletti got a reaction from his players in the second half, and Edin Dzeko tapped in an equaliser, but they couldn’t breach the Atalanta defence again. Wojciech Szczesny conceded the Scudetto after the match, and it became clear it was only a matter of time before the Old Lady retained her crown. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

The Bianconeri previously shared the record with their own side of 1931 to 1935 and Il Grande Torino, who won five in a row between 1943 and 1949. The latter would surely have won more, were it not for the interruption of the Second World War and their tragic demise in the Superga air disaster. Inter have also won the Scudetto five times on the spin, but the first of those remains controversial, having been awarded to the Nerazzurri after the Calciopoli scandal. Juve won the first of their six Scudetti in 2012, completing the season unbeaten under Antonio Conte. The feat was made all the more remarkable by the fact that the Bianconeri had finished seventh in the previous two seasons. The following campaign saw the Old Lady comfortably retain her crown, finishing nine points clear of Napoli. It was in 2013-14 though that Juventus really started to exert their stranglehold over the Scudetto. Conte’s side racked up an incredible 33 wins from 38 games, setting a record points total of 102. Second placed Roma had their best-ever Serie A season, and still finished 17 points adrift. Despite that triumph, a frustration over transfer funds saw Conte walk away to be replaced by Max Allegri. Nothing could upset Juve’s rhythm though, as they once again retained the title, this time while winning the Coppa Italia and reaching the Champions League final. The departures that summer of Andrea Pirlo, Carlos Tevez and Arturo Vidal initially looked like derailing the Bianconeri juggernaut, as they suffered a terrible start to the 2015-16 season. Juve earned just 12 points from their first available 30, their worst start to a season ever, and appeared to be out of the Scudetto race when they lost at Sassuolo on October 28. What followed was a 25-match unbeaten run, with just one draw included in that sequence, and the Turin giants once again retained their title. With the signings of Miralem Pjanic and Gonzalo Higuain from Roma and Napoli respectively, the Bianconeri were always huge favourites this season. Since going top in Week 3, Allegri and his men have only one relinquished their hold on first place, leading from Week 5 to Week 38. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Even though Roma closed to within a point of Massimiliano Allegri's leaders with victory at Chievo on Saturday night, success in this penultimate fixture of the season saw Juve retain the Scudetto. On his 31st birthday, Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic banished any fears about an afternoon of struggle with the opening goal, and Paulo Dybala eased any latent jitters with a well-taken second. With time running out, midfielder Alex Sandro added gloss to the scoreline as Juve wrote a new page in the history of Italian football. Having wrapped up the championship and clinched their third consecutive Coppa Italia over the last few days, Juve's focus must now turn to their Champions League final meeting with Real Madrid. Crotone remain a point shy of Empoli and safety heading into their season-ending clash against Lazio next weekend. Crotone only live to fight another day thanks to Atalanta, who beat 17th-placed Empoli 1-0 at the Stadio Carlo Castellani to confirm their own entry to the Europa League group stage. Gian Piero Gasperini's team have blazed an unlikely trail all season long and the always-influential Alejandro Gomez was the match-winner in Tuscany, rifling home the decider after just 13 minutes. Empoli had their chances to level in the second half, with veteran Massimo Maccarone coming very close, but they sit just one point clear of Crotone before visiting Palermo on the final day. Underachieving AC Milan look set to find a route into Europe through the back door of sixth place after defeating Bologna 3-0 at San Siro. Gerard Deulofeu found the opener 69 minutes into a nervy encounter and Keisuke Honda swiftly added a second before Gianluca Lapadula confirmed the outcome in stoppage time. Both Sassuolo and Cagliari will finish in mid-table after an eight-goal thriller in Reggio Emilia, where the hosts ran out 6-2 victors. Francesco Magnanelli, Domenico Berardi and Matteo Politano had Sassuolo three goals up inside just 13 minutes, with Marco Sau replying before Stefano Sensi made it 4-1 heading into the break. The contest was closer in the second half as, after Pietro Iemmello continued his fine goal-scoring run with a penalty, Artur Ionita notched Cagliari's second. On the stroke of full-time, though, substitute Alessandro Matri rubber-stamped a conclusive home win. Genoa secured their top-flight status with a 2-1 victory over Torino at the Marassi. Luca Rigoni and Giovanni Simeone gave Grifone some reason to be cheerful towards the end of a dire campaign, with Adem Ljajic leaving it until late to grab a consolation goal for Torino. Elsewhere, three players were sent off as Udinese and Sampdoria shared the points from a bad-tempered 1-1 draw. Cyril Thereau blasted Udinese into an early lead but the Zebrette lost Rodrigo de Paul to a red card shortly after the restart. Gabriel Silva's foul on Luis Muriel allowed the latter to equalise from the penalty spot but the Colombia international's overenthusiastic celebrations sparked a brawl. Muriel -- formerly on the books at the Dacia Arena -- was dismissed for his role in the scuffle, with Udinese defender Danilo promptly following him down the tunnel. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

It won’t go down as one of the club’s greatest accomplishments. In fact, it is the kind of anniversary that nobody around here wants to see be forced upon Juventus again. You see, it was 10 years ago plus a few days that Juventus earned promotion back to Serie A after a year of forced purgatory in Italy’s second division. A lot has happened since we saw Alex Del Piero and Gigi Buffon rocking pink shirts with black lettering spelling out “BastA” across their chests. From a positive return to Serie A under Claudio Ranieri to back-to-back seventh-place finishes, things weren’t always so glamorous as they are now. Not by a long shot. But these days, Juventus is the dominant force in Italy once more — and it was reaffirmed on Sunday afternoon in Turin. The latest accomplishment came to fruition on a sunsplashed Sunday afternoon at Juventus Stadium. For the sixth straight season, the Serie A champions reside in Turin. First-half goals from birthday boy Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala paved the way for a post-halftime fiesta at J-Stadium in a 3-0 win over relegation battlers Crotone. Six straight. Record set. Scudetto No. 35 is here. Officially official. A season in Serie B. Some tough seasons a relatively positive return. But now, complete domination. Not a bad way to finish out a decade’s worth of games. And there’s still a chance that it can become even better. Coppa Italia — check! Scudetto — check! Champions League — TBD. With the Scudetto and second part of the possible treble now officially done and out of the way, all the attention will now turn to what’s going down in Cardiff on June 3. Juve still have one more Serie A fixture left, but with the Scudetto now theirs, the season finale is now a “Please don’t get hurt” situation rather than something where Juve actually need to get points to hold off the competition. Would we like them to win the Serie A finale? Of course. But when it comes to treble-related matters, it’s now focus on getting through the league finale unscathed and then gearing up for what could be even more history in what has now officially been a historic Juventus campaign. That couldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for what has come before them. One title after another the last six years. From the rebuilding job that Antonio Conte did to Max Allegri making this squad his own. Juventus has done a whole lot of winning this season and the previous five before it. That’s the beautiful thing about this run of six straight Scudetti. Lots of wins, lots of title celebrations and lots and lots of confetti getting shot out of cannons. A domestic double sounds pretty good once more. But a treble? Now that’s what dreams are made of, my friends. And Juventus’ dream is close to becoming reality. There was plenty of Juventus-related reasons to watch. My main takeaway was that Rodrigo Bentancur is quite skinny yet quite good. Just hope he fills out a bit. One more U-20 note: It’s so nice to see Rolando Mandragora out there and playing heavy minutes. He’s obviously looked upon to be a huge part of the Azzurrini’s success at the tournament since he’s their captain, but knowing that he’s overcome a long, long time on the sidelines for most of the season, just seeing him out there playing is a great sign for his future. Fashion thought: During an afternoon game with lots of sunshine, Crotone’s road kits aren’t the best when it comes to seeing all 11 players at once. Maybe things will get better for them next season no matter if it’s in Serie A or Serie B. I will be having dreams about Dybala’s free kick that he scored on. Good thing he’s getting locked in on free kicks again. Rumor has it there’s a pretty important game coming up in about two weeks where another free kick like that could mean Juventus wins another trophy. Dybala-related question: Is that good? Mandzukic has obviously sacrificed a good number of goals for the chance to play on a regular basis this season since Allegri switched to the 4-2-3-1 (and subsequent 3-4-1-2). He’s not the main target man anymore, but he’s maybe more important now than he was based on what his role has become. He was playing as forward and had as many scoring chances as I can remember him having in a good amount of games. And it’s fitting that the guy who has not had the kind of season he’s had in the past when it comes to goals scored recorded the goal that clinched the Scudetto. Alex Sandro celebrated his call-up to the Brazil national team with a goal. Pretty, pretty good week he’s having, I’d say. The movement and pace on the corner kick by Dybala that led to Sandro’s goal ... my goodness. That left foot is absolute magic, I tell ya. Juventus win the Scudetto. Gigi Buffon gets a clean sheet. Couldn’t have asked for anything better than that. SIAMO NOI, SIAMO NOI. Sing it loud, sing it proud, dammit. Another year of bragging rights at the office for everybody here. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti
Socrates 8328 Joined: 04-Apr-2006 133052 messaggi Inviato May 21, 2017 Are Allegri's record-breakers now better than the Juve of Zidane or Platini? http://www.goal.com/en/news/8/main/2017/05/21/35705252/- May 21, 2017 On the first day of Juventus' pre-season retreat high up in the mountains around the Alpine town of Bardonecchia, new coach Antonio Conte summoned the squad to the gym to introduce himself and outline his objectives for the coming 2011-12 campaign. "This team, my dear boys, is coming off the back of two consecutive seventh-placed finishes in the league," Andrea Pirlo recounted in his autobiography, ' Penso Quindi Gioco '. "Crazy stuff! Spine-chilling! I'm not here for this. It's time to stop being crap. "The last few seasons here have hurt everyone, so, we have to do something to rediscover ourselves, to get back to being Juve. Changing direction is not a polite request, it's an order, a moral obligation. "You must take only one step, which is relatively simple: follow me." They did, to a man, and their reward was a place in history. Juventus didn't just win the Serie A title that season, they did so unbeaten, becoming the first side to do so in a 20-team top flight. Conte would claim two more titles before standing down in the summer of 2014 due to a dispute with his employers over the club's transfer strategy and his departure came as quite the shock, not least given Juve had just retained their Scudetto with a record-breaking haul of 102 points. The appointment of a former AC Milan coach, Massimiliano Allegri, as Conte's successor did little to quell the sense of unease in Turin. The car in which Allegri arrived at Vinovo was kicked, pelted with eggs and even spat at by irate fans. Those same supporters would soon be singing his praises, though, because Allegri constructed an impenetrable fortress upon Conte's rock-solid foundations. Juve are no longer just a domestic powerhouse, they are also a force in Europe, as was so thrillingly underlined by the way in which they blitzed Barcelona in Turin before shutting down 'MSN' at Camp Nou. Essentially, Allegri has attained the continental results and recognition that eluded Conte, while at the same time taking the Old Lady's home rule to another level. On Sunday, Juve became the first club to claim six successive Scudetti. Given that they have already lifted the Coppa Italia, the Bianconeri can claim the first treble in the club's illustrious history if they defeat Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Cardiff on June 3. It begs an obvious question: could this be the greatest Juve side of all time? The Bianconeri established themselves as one of the most popular clubs in Italian football by winning five consecutive Scudetti between 1931 and 1935. Carlo Carcano was responsible for all but the final title triumph and his success owed everything to the way in which he successfully integrated foreign stars with Italian passports such as Raimundo Orsi and Luis Monti into a side brimming with talented locals like Giovanni Ferrari. All three players played a key role in the Azzurri's 1934 World Cup win, the origins of the long-standing adage that 'A strong Juve means a strong Italy'. Omar Sivori, John Charles and Giampiero Boniperti combined to devastating effect during Juve's resurgence at the end of the 1950s but, in truth, Juve's next true era of dominance did not arrive until the 1970s, following the appointment of Giovanni Trapattoni as coach. The pragmatic but colourful Milanese oversaw a decade of unprecedented success in Turin, leading the Old Lady to six Scudetti, two Coppe Italia, a UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and, most importantly of all, a European Cup. Trapattoni's side was wonderfully balanced, based on a brilliant backline featuring a brutal man-marker (Claudio Gentile), an elegant sweeper (Gaetano Scirea) and indefatigable midfielders (Beppe Furino and Marco Tardelli). It was this group of artisans who afforded Juve's artists the freedom to play, to create. As Trapattoni recently reminisced, "Michel Platini smoked a lot. When I saw him smoking, I told him to stop. "Platini said to me, 'But, coach, I don't need to run', before pointing at Bonini and saying, 'Just make sure he doesn't smoke!'" What Platini lacked in work-rate, he made up for with goals and moments of genius. He was the capocannoniere in Serie A (and Ballon d'Or winner) for three successive seasons during a golden era for defenders. The 1985 European Cup success should have been the Frenchman's crowning glory but it was overshadowed by tragedy, with the final having been played out in an eerie, sombre atmosphere after Liverpool supporters pushed over a wall at Heysel Stadium that killed 39 people, most of whom were Juve fans. The Old Lady would have to wait another 11 years to conquer the continent and it was Marcello Lippi who put Juve back on top of the European game by defeating Ajax on penalties in the 1996 Champions League final. However, there is still a sense of disappointment surrounding Lippi's first spell in Turin. Despite adding the velvet touch of Zinedine Zidane to a squad already boasting the exciting young talent that was Alessandro Del Piero, Juve failed to create a European dynasty. They would appear in the next two finals but lose both, to Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid, respectively. In total, Juve have played in eight European Cup deciders, and lost six of them, with their most recent defeat coming in 2015 at the hands of Barcelona. That loss arrived at the end of Allegri's first season in charge but he now has the opportunity to put that right in Cardiff next month. Should he do so, this Juve team could lay claim to being the finest the club has ever produced. They have already surpassed the domestic achievements of all of their predecessors and a European triumph would mean more than it did in 1985 or 1996. While Serie A has arguably never been weaker, winning the Champions League has become tougher than ever before for everyone else bar Barcelona, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich. Unlike the mid-80s or mid-90s, Juve are no longer competing on the same financial footing as Europe's elite. Yet here they are, Serie A champions for a record sixth time and on the verge of a treble triumph. They've long since stopped being crap. Now, immortality beckons. I want to deserve it.” The captain will lift the Scudetto trophy for the sixth time in a row this afternoon, following a 3-0 victory over Crotone. “The sixth consecutive title is something extremely significant,” Buffon told Mediaset Premium, as the Bianconeri achieved something no other club has managed in Serie A. “We have written indelible pages in the history of football. It’s great to always work to our best and win for six years in a row.” Juve have won the Scudetto and Coppa Italia, so if they complete the Treble in the Champions League Final against Real Madrid on June 3, will Buffon be a contender for the Ballon d’Or? “If I deserve it, then that will be very pleasing, but I don’t want any gifts.” http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

The Coach has now won the Coppa Italia and Scudetto for three years in a row, while the Bianconeri face Real Madrid in the Champions League Final on June 3. “We have to first of all compliment the six players who won all six Scudetti, as they go into legend,” Allegri told Mediaset Premium. “I participated in this celebration. I have to compliment the lads, as they have done and are doing extraordinary things.” Director Beppe Marotta said Juventus were eager for him to continue, but that the Coach must decide. “It depends on both of us. I am very happy to be at Juventus, we haven’t spoken yet, but we will sit down and understand what to do next. Juve have reached such a high level that we must maintain it and that is not easy, so we need to confront our various ideas. “This morning a moment flashed through my mind of where I was 10 years ago, from Sassuolo to Cagliari. I am very happy to have won trophies at Milan and Juventus, but there’s a long road ahead of me too. “My career might not be that long now, but I love football. There’s a lot of pressure, but I find that enjoyable. “I hope that I haven’t reached my peak yet. I hope that I can do even better, as if you are not motivated to improve, then why bother? This victory is part of the history of Juventus. “We’ll come back on Wednesday, having two days off to clear our heads and recharge the batteries. I smiled before the game, as Crotone were extraordinary in their effort and tactics, but tension can change a match. If we had played this three months ago, it might’ve seemed ‘easier’ when with so much at stake it felt very different.” The turning point was when Juve lost to Fiorentina in January and he transformed the side with a 4-2-3-1 system. “I had to break the ice this season, as I felt the team had done all it possibly could with that system and needed to shake things up.” http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Crotone had gained 17 points from their last seven games, while Juventus hadn’t won any of their last three in Serie A. The Bianconeri’s defeat at Roma last weekend even made the Scudetto race exciting again, as Juve needed all three points against the Squali. However, these Bianconeri weren’t ready to get into a fight. They were 1-0 up after just 13 minutes when a splendid Juan Cuadrado cross found birthday boy Mario Mandzukic. No one deserved to score that opening goal, at that moment the Scudetto winner, more than the Croatian forward. He’s been the unsung hero of this historic Juve squad, sacrificing his personal fame and body for the team. Paulo Dybala hit a stunning free kick, which was probably his finest goal of the season, to make it 2-0 before the half. It eventually ended 3-0 with an Alex Sandro header. Match won. Scudetto won. Third consecutive Italian double in the books for the Old Lady. An historic feat for the Turin club. Those who still doubted Massimiliano Allegri have, once again, been proven wrong. While Antonio Conte brought Juventus back from the death, Allegri has taken the Bianconeri back to the top. In Italy and in Europe. How? By doing it his own way. Using his tactical brain and eye for flexibility to turn his team into a “war machine”, as Miralem Pjanic called it. There are many players who can be dubbed Juventus ‘Player of the Season’. Gianluigi Buffon once again defied age, while Leonardo Bonucci proved to the world he’s the most complete centre-back. Dani Alves was big in big games and Alex Sandro rose to stardom as a freight train at left-back. Gonzalo Higuain proved to be worth the €90m risk, while Paulo Dybala scored ‘only’ 10 Serie A goals but the Argentinian’s influence reached far beyond stats. And no Juve fan will ever forget the fighter in Mandzukic the winger. In the end, however, Miralem Pjanic was the main man for Juve and Allegri. The former Roma playmaker needed some adjustment time, but found his ground in Juve’s deadly 4-2-3-1 formation as the team’s regista. His passing skills, vision and creativity were at full display in 2017. On top, the Bosnian also showcased his smart running, interceptions and defensive work, jumping right into that world class category alongside guys like Toni Kroos and Marco Verratti. As it stands, no Italian team is capable of performing like Juventus do on such a high and consistent level. The mental aspect of football is equally important as the physical and technical aspect. While Napoli and Roma boost a massively talented squad, they are not quite there yet when it comes to team spirit, mentality and resilience. In two weeks, the Old Lady can complete the historic Treble by beating Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Cardiff. What an achievement that would be. But until then, Juve fans should celebrate their domestic domination. Even if the Bianconeri end up losing to Madrid, they’re on top of the world this season. One more trophy to celebrate, Juventus again proved why they have, by far, been the best team in the league. Despite the scoreline, it must be said that Crotone played a good game, defending well, remaining compact and providing a threat on the counterattack. Refusing to surrender, the side just lacked the quality required to make a difference. Juventus boasting superior talent and strength demonstrated the beauty of their fluid play, scoring the necessary goals to ensure yet another trophy and more celebrations. Positives Another display of fine football sealed the club's 33rd Scudetto (35 if you count the stripped titles) but most impressively, Juve have made it six in a row to make history and accomplish what no other side have managed in Italy. Negatives Once again, no negatives to speak of but perhaps Paulo Dybala should have been awarded a penalty in the first half which the referee refused to give. Manager rating (out of 10) 7 -- By choosing to field his best starting XI, Massimiliano Allegri sent a message that this match must be taken seriously and the title must be won. His squad duly replied and Juve with all their superior talents clinched yet another title to make history. Player ratings (1-10; 10=best; players introduced after 70 minutes get no rating): GK Gianluigi Buffon, 6 -- Fairly quiet day for the goalkeeper who only had two shots on goal to contend with, keeping yet another clean sheet and winning yet another title. DF Dani Alves, 7 -- Tackled perfectly, made decisive interventions in defence and continued to push the team forward in attack. A player who continues to make the impact, Alves has proved to be a vital member of the team. DF Leonardo Bonucci, 6 -- Strong in the air, authoritative at the back and good going forward. DF Medhi Benatia, 6 -- Used his physical strength, made important blocks and tackled effectively. DF Alex Sandro, 7 -- A powerful header saw the full-back score the third goal but overall Sandro played a great game in which he created more chances than any other player, commanding the left lane. MF Claudio Marchisio, 6 -- Recovered possession well and recycled possession effectively. A composed player who always knows what to do on and off the ball. MF Miralem Pjanic, 6 -- Composed and intelligent, Pjanic has truly learnt how to control the tempo and direct play. Juventus clinched a record sixth straight Serie A title with a 3-0 win over relegation-threatened Crotone. MF Juan Cuadrado, 6 -- Delivering a delicious assist that led to the first goal, Cuadrado used his pace well both in defence and attack. Taking less time on the ball than usual, Cuadrado has the talent but he demonstrated today what can be achieved when he channels it properly. Must be more consistent. MF Paulo Dybala, 7 -- Should have won a penalty but demonstrated the beauty of his technique with a fine free kick, scoring Juve's second. He inspires play, controls the ball perfectly and creates so many opportunities for the team. MF Mario Mandzukic, 7 -- Scoring the opening goal, Mandzukic recovered possession admirably well and must always be applauded for his work rate even if at times that stops him from being a consistent threat in attack. FW Gonzalo Higuain, 6 -- Not his best game, struggling aerially and not as efficient as usual but his movement is always good and he always makes himself available for the pass. Substitute DF Andrea Barzagli, 6 -- Strong and attentive, Barzagli is the perfect player to bring on to secure a result. MF Mario Lemina, NR -- Secured the scoreline. MF Tomas Rincon, NR -- Not on long enough to make an impact. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Allegri, who has won seven trophies in his three years in Turin, has been linked with a move abroad to Arsenal or Barcelona, but insists his full attention is focused on landing the European Cup. When told that Juve general manager Giuseppe Marotta had said Allegri is free to make a decision about his next move, he said: "He said it depends on me? "It depends on both of us and we haven't spoken yet. We will sit down and decide what we have to do. "I'm happy here, but Juve have reached such a high level that it will not be easy to maintain our status, so we'll have to compare ideas on how to do that. "But for now the most important thing is to win the final in Cardiff. "Let's take two or three days off to rest because we deserve it -- the last five months have been tough -- but then we have to go to Cardiff and try to win the cup. "We must approach the match with confidence and conviction -- it will be a fascinating encounter." Massimiliano Allegri has led Juventus to two Champions League finals in three years. Juve, who on Saturday had seen second-placed Roma close the gap to a single point, knew beating relegation-threatened Crotone would confirm the destination of the Scudetto with one game left. On his 31st birthday, Mario Mandzukic scored the opener and Paulo Dybala's free kick put the Old Lady out of sight before Alex Sandro banished any lingering doubts in the second half. Veteran goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon kept a 13th clean sheet of the Serie A season and, like his boss, was keen to sound a note of caution before Juve head to Wales. The 39-year-old has never won the European Cup, losing two finals, and he said: "We have written some beautiful pages that will enter football's history books. "Winning is never easy. Staying at the top is synonymous with sacrifice and self-denial. "If you want to win trophies then you must always go into games with your head screwed on and with your best foot forward." Crotone, meanwhile, can escape the relegation zone on the final day after nearest rivals Empoli lost 1-0 at home to Atalanta. They host high-flying Lazio while Empoli travel to Palermo. Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has told La Gazzetta dello Sport he will not discuss his future beyond the end of this season until after the Champions League final. The 49-year-old head coach clinched the second prize of a potential treble haul as Juve wrapped up their sixth straight Serie A title -- a new Italian record -- with a 3-0 victory over Crotone on Sunday. From one furious and emotionally-triggering debacle in Rome to a polar opposite experience of joy and celebration just a few days later in the same stadium, it really has been an eventful week for Juventini. With the record-breaking Coppa Italia in the bag, it was time to sew things up in the league at home against minnows Crotone, who themselves are still valiantly fighting relegation in a fascinating end-of-season rundown. It was finally to be for the Bianconeri, though. It was finally time to bring home the goods, as Mario Mandzukic and a pearl of a free kick by Paulo Dybala secured a 2-0 victory against Crotone and, most importantly, a remarkable and record-breaking sixth straight Scudetto. Crotone kicked off the game in this gloriously sunny and warm Sunday afternoon at Juventus Stadium hoping to pull off a miracle in their bid to stave off relegation. As expected, they bunkered down in their own half and looked to counterattack in the few opportunities that Juventus would grant them. To be fair, they looked decent on the break but nothing extremely dangerous. Juventus, on the other hand, would open the scoring in the 13th minute courtesy of birthday-boy Mandzukic. The ball broke to Juan Cuadrado on the right who spotted the far post run of the Croatian wingerdefender striker and delivered a phenomenal driven cross to him. Mandzukic outmuscled Aleandro Rosi to get to the ball first and bundle the ball into goal for the opener: 1-0! An early goal to put any potential title-jitters at ease and put the Bianconeri on course for the title! Photo by Valerio Pennicino/Getty Images Just a few minutes later, Juventus had a strong penalty shout waved away after Dybala deftly nutmegged Gianmarco Ferrari and sped past him. The defender seemed to hustle and bustle the Argentine away from the ball illegally, but the referee was having none of it. The home side were looking absolutely irresistible in attack, though, passing the ball from side to side with ease and watching Dybala exploit the freedom of the space between Crotone’s defense and midfield with all the joy in the world. They almost secured the second goal as a lovely Dybala cross seemed destined for Higuaín to convert, but Ferrari produced a fantastic clearing header for the corner. Crotone just couldn’t keep Juventus at bay, as Dybala doubled the Bianconeri’s lead in the 39thminute after curling a wonderful free-kick past the rooted Alex Cordaz in goal: 2-0! Juventus looked to seal the deal in the second half by getting that third goal quickly. In the 47thminute, Cuadrado burst into the area and forced a good save from Cordaz after unleashing a stinging shot at the Crotone goalkeeper. Credit to the away side because they came out in the second half with real fire in their bellies as they valiantly looked to battle the beast of relegation. Juventus, however, looked to kill the tempo of the game and reduce the game to a calm stroll as they knew it wasn’t necessary to expend too much energy at this stage of the game. The second half continued without too much of a fuss, although Pjanic almost slid in the third goal after Higuaín mis-controlled a Dybala pass inside the box but the Bosnian’s effort went wide of the effort. Finally, after a bit of a drab second half, the third goal went in to seal the deal: Dybala whipped a corner onto the head of Alex Sandro, whose smashing header was pushed onto the inside of the bar by Cordaz and bounced off the line. Goal-line technology was there to confirm that the ball had crossed the line, allowing the Brazilian to wheel off in celebration for the 3-0! It was almost a fourth for the partying Bianconeri in the dying minutes of the game as Mandzukic almost pulled off a Beckham by trying his luck with an effort from the halfway line, but Cordaz just about managed to tip the ball over the goal and avoid some real embarrassment. No matter what, though: Juventus secured a record-breaking sixth consecutive Scudetto thanks to a 3-0 victory against Crotone! Photo by Valerio Pennicino/Getty Images Le Pagelle BUFFON N/A – Had that one tidy save in the 92nd minute. For the rest, enjoyed the hot late-spring sun at the Juventus Stadium. SANDRO 8.5 – Smashing header for the 3-0 that wrapped up the game and another typically brilliant performance by Sandro at left back. A joy to watch. BONUCCI 8.5 – Some irresistible passes from the back by Bonucci. He enjoyed showing off his vision as his defensive duties were very light today. BENATIA 8 – I don’t know how on earth he didn’t get booked this game after quite persistent fouling. Nevertheless, still a good outing for the Moroccan. DANI ALVES 8.5 – Another rampaging performance by Dani. Arguably the MVP of the second half of the season, he was again proactive in attack and sharp in defense. MARCHISIO 8.5 – Tidy, simple, and effortless. A typical Marchisio performance and was surprisingly active in attacking moves as well. PJANIC 8 – Like Marchisio, very tidy in midfield. I gave Marchisio a bit more because I liked his offensive contributions today but that doesn’t take anything away from the elegant Pjanic. MANDZUKIC 7.5 – Good goal for the birthday boy and a typically hard-working performance by the Croatian. Wasn’t too active in attack though, but that was no big issue given the easy victory. Photo by Valerio Pennicino/Getty Images DYBALA 9 – Ah, how he enjoyed the freedom of the pitch today! Roamed freely in the danger zone between Crotone’s defense and midfield and scored an exquisite free kick to cap off a lovely afternoon. CUADRADO 8 – Inch-perfect cross for the first goal and generally played quite well on the right. HIGUAÍN 7 – Quiet afternoon for the big man. Some disappointing efforts from the few chances he did get today, but I’m expecting to see him rested against Bologna next week. Subs BARZAGLI 6.5 – Nice and easy performance by Barzagli as he come on with 20-minutes to go in the second half. LEMINA N/A – A short 15-minute cameo for the Gabonese midfielder. RINCÓN N/A – Played for a few minutes late on. Manager ALLEGRI 9 – Steadied the ship after the blip against Roma with two swaggering performances in the space of four days. Now he’ll have all the freedom to experiment and rotate against Bologna in anticipation of the big one in two weeks… Note: I really wanted to just give the entire team a 10, but I thought I shouldn’t entirely shirk on my writing duties just because of our victorious afternoon! Tactical Analysis – Let’s party! WHO CARES ABOUT TACTICS, WE WON THE LEAGUE, RAGAZZI! Just kidding. Again, don’t wanna shirk too much on my writing duties. Crotone set out in a counterattack-ready 4-4-2 that left an awful lot of space between the lines for Dybala to exploit. It was a recurring theme throughout the match as Dybala roamed and roamed around the pitch. This “problem” for Crotone grew more pronounced as the game wore on and the visitors were forced to take more risks in a valiant attempt to salvage something from the game. Dybala casually enjoying the pocket of space in the danger zone between Crotone’s defense and midfield. Juventus were irresistible in attack because of their numerical superiority in the center of the pitch. Credit Crotone for pushing their strikers to press Benatia and Bonucci though, but it was a problematic strategy given the space this would leave behind them for the trio of Marchisio-Pjanic-Dybala to exploit. Teams like Atlético do this so impressively because the spaces between the lines are so extraordinarily airtight (I’m sure Ray Hudson has some kind of cute poetic metaphor for this one. Unfortunately, I’m not Ray). Crotone couldn’t quite get this right as they got pulled up and down and from side to side by an imperious Juve side. Roam, roam, roam your boat. Dybala sure did enjoy himself. Statszone by Opta Mentality Another year, another domestic double. This team, this club, is utterly incredible. I’m sure it has been said before, but if there’s one thing that supporting Juve has taught me it’s that you can absolutely never underestimate the power of mentality. Yeah yeah, I’m sure we’re not the only team in Europe that has this type of mentality, but witnessing it first hand is remarkable. It’s something that I’m trying to transmit to my personal life as well because it is such a difference maker. Having that mental edge, that mental sharpness and the hidden, darker anger that drives you to succeed no matter what; this is something you must experience yourself because it simply cannot be explained in words. Long live the power of the winning mentality that allows the extraordinary power of the collective to shine above all. Fino alla fine. Sempre Juve. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Paulo Dybala “It’s wonderful to score and then have this celebration. I was fortunate enough to do it last year, too. “What we are experiencing is unique. To have won the Scudetto, Coppa Italia and in a few days play the Champions League Final – we are well aware of the moment we’re going through and we want it with all our hearts. “The celebration with Dani? We do that every day when we get on the training ground. Dani adjusted it this week, as we had a different one and it brought us good luck. “Fortunately, we didn’t have the bad start that we did last season. We dominated the tournament and deserved this Scudetto. We didn’t go through any particularly bad spells and are now in the running for a third trophy. “The new system? there are so many of us in attack, the Coach put us all together and it’s a system we really like, because the more of us are there, the better our chances of scoring. It’s a bit tighter up there, but we make it work. “I hope that in Cardiff I won’t be sleeping, but celebrating. When I go to bed the night before, I’ll imagine my team lifting the trophy.” Miralem Pjanic It was a wonderful week, above all for the Scudetto. It was the work of a whole year and we put so much into it to achieve these satisfactions. “It’s a marvellous day for us players and the club. The first day I arrived at Juventus, the President told me that he wanted to break the record of five consecutive Scudetti. “However, we still have the possibility of winning a 10th trophy too and we’ll try to bring the Champions League home. “I had played in front of the defence with Luciano Spalletti too. In that position I can start moves from the back and push forward too. I really like this role and, after making many corrections since the start of the season, I think I’m getting stronger.” Andrea Barzagli “We have been on an extraordinary journey, which began in this very stadium. The more we go forward, the more we want to chase trophies. “More than a turning point, the change to 4-2-3-1 was a way of giving everyone more responsibility. There were a few dark moments, but we know how to resolve them straight away thanks to a solid group, a club that is right behind us and a Coach who keeps a close eye on the situation. “The good thing about facing Real Madrid is that you can’t take anything for granted or risk underestimating the match. We will all give our absolute best. “We are in good shape, both psychologically and physically. We’ve played nearly 60 games this season, but with an objective like that on the horizon, we don’t even feel fatigue. We hope to have a great performance. “We’ll train hard, but with joy. That’s the benefit of having so many South Americans in the squad…” Gigi Buffon “I thought for a whole week about the Champions League Final with Real Madrid, so I was practically on vacation in Rome and totally embarrassed myself. “Seeing as I don’t like embarrassing myself at the age of 39, I wanted to react. After that ugly performance, we needed to find the right energy again. “The first time we were the surprise outfit, from then on we started out as favourites on paper. Winning is an enormous sacrifice, because you have to work every day to improve and every draw feels like half a defeat. “It becomes this addiction to winning.” Beppe Marotta “The first thing Andrea Agnelli did was to create the club structure. We have a great unity with the Coach and players, so achieved this also thanks to the human elements. “Clearly the economic factor is important, but so is planning and technical decisions. We made more of the brand and increased the revenue, which gave the sporting side of the club the opportunity to buy players of greater quality. “Compared to the side that won the first Scudetto of this run, the squad now has immense quality and is at the top on a European level too. “I can confirm we are very satisfied with what he has done and will be very happy to continue with him. We have to meet, but I think that considering the man he is, Allegri will feel his era at Juventus has not concluded yet. “I think the right mix is to contemporaneously seek young talents who can learn from the long-running champions like Buffon, Chiellini and Bonucci. “We believe in the culture of work, which has been decisive in our success, so there’s no need or desire to seek the likes of Neymar. “I think we have created a winning model at the club, because everyone knows their duties and what they need to do. Agnelli is a great fan and embodies the Juventus spirit, which is to try to win in every competition we enter.” http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Juve won a record, sixth straight Scudetto on Sunday and can become the second Italian club in history to achieve a Treble when they take on Real Madrid in the Champions League Final on June 2. “Juventus have done remarkably well, but I’m not surprised because they’re strong,” the former Milan boss told Gazzetta dello Sport. “First and foremost, however, they have people who do their job by setting great values on the pitch, not just technically but in terms of organisation. “They’re a great club, they have a great Coach and a cohesive team, which teaches everyone the importance of working together. “Congratulations to the club and Allegri, who also had to gel so many champions together. Allegri’s one of the best Coaches in Italy. “Champions League Final? For me, Juventus are clear favourites thanks to their extraordinary motivation. “They have a team of heroes, who are managed in the best way and can do well.“ Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

You should ask Spalletti. “He’s decided to change formation, but I respect that and remain available, while working so I’m ready to help my teammates.” Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti
Socrates 8328 Joined: 04-Apr-2006 133052 messaggi Inviato May 23, 2017 Juventus 2017: Serie A’s Greatest Ever Side? https://forzaitalianfootball.com/2017/05/current-juventus-best-serie-a-side-ever/ May 23, 2017 By wrapping up a sixth straight Scudetto, Juventus achieved a feat that no other side has managed in Serie A. It is no great surprise to many observers that Juventus have secured their sixth successive Scudetto. Since ending the Milan clubs’ monopoly in 2012, they have set about establishing a dynasty of their own and as they celebrated another successful defence, you couldn’t help but wonder about this current side’s legacy. While arguments about a particular side’s place in history and their standing compared to others is always a difficult and subjective one to have, even if it does provoke interesting debate, there is a case to be made for the current Juventus team at least being considered the best ever to play in Italian football. There are some outstanding candidates for the honour. Juventus themselves had some terrific, all conquering teams in the 1930s, 1970s and 1980s as well as in the 1990s. The Grande Torino and their tragic history mean they hold a big claim to it as can Arrigo Sacchi’s AC Milan side during Silvio Berlusconi’s early years. Although the competition wasn’t at its fiercest, there is no taking away from Inter’s achievements during the noughties and during the 1960s too under Helenio Herrera, while Genoa did dominate the early years of Italian football when the league was in its infancy. Even if we don’t compare Juventus’ six-in-a-row side to those illustrious icons of the past, we can certainly enjoy them for their incredible achievements over the course of the past six seasons. As good as those aforementioned teams of the past were, no club in Italian football history ever before managed to win six successive top flight titles until the Old Lady’s class of 2017 came along and across Europe’s top five leagues, only Lyon have bettered that record when they won seven in a row. At the core of that success has been the continued influence of the Agnelli family, who have helped bring the Bianconeri into a new home worthy of housing such record-breaking triumphs and their directorial staff. On the playing side of things, Antonio Conte deserves credit for playing his part in delivering the first half of their Scudetti, while Massimiliano Allegri filled the void effortlessly to take his own Italian title tally to four. Only Giovanni Trapattoni, Fabio Capello and Marcello Lippi have won more. There has also been a nucleus of stalwarts who have made up the spine of the side and steered the Bianconeri to each of their six titles: Gianluigi Buffon, Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Barzagli, Giorgio Chiellini, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Claudio Marchisio. En route to their run of title victories, the Turin giants also broke and set some records along the way, just to add weight to the argument concerning where they stand against the great sides of the past. They recorded the longest run of Serie A wins with no team being able to even hold them for a draw for 33 consecutive matches and in all six seasons, the Bianconeri totalled at least 84 points at the end of the campaign, a level of class and consistency no other side can come close to. In each season, they finished the campaign with the top flight’s best defence, collecting 121 clean sheets over the past six years, with the next closest team managing 79, which seems almost disappointing by way of comparison. Their captain, who has now won more Scudetti than any other player with eight, can also revel in the role he has played in making this Juventus side so difficult to score against, let alone pick up results against. In the past six seasons, the second best goalkeeper in terms of clean sheets in Italy has been Samir Handanovic with 76 but even he is utterly dwarfed by Buffon who has managed 106. A total of 66 players have made appearances for the Bianconeri at some point in Serie A across their six successful seasons and all can lay claim to playing some part in establishing the Bianconeri as a true Italian football dynasty. With one game left to play in the current season, just look at the statistics that this unstoppable, black and white juggernaut have registered in the past six seasons and try to argue against them being considered one of the all-time great sides in calcio history. They have managed a staggering 166 wins and 41 draws from their 227 games played, losing on just 20 occasions as they have cruised to title after title. That is a stunning level of consistency. With attacking and creative talents like Carlos Tevez, Alvaro Morata, Arturo Vidal, Andrea Pirlo, Paul Pogba, Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain at their disposal, it is no surprise that they have scored 441 goals, conceding just 137 in the same amount of time. On average, that works out at a rate of 1.9 goals scored per game, while conceding just 0.6 and they have averaged 2.4 points per game picked up in the last six seasons. Nobody in Italy has been able to stop them. All that is left now is for them to deliver the definitive statement of their greatness by becoming just the third Juventus side ever to lift the Champions League trophy. That is the opportunity that awaits them in Cardiff against Real Madrid in June. Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

The two sides meet in the Champions League final on June 3, and the man who Coached both teams says Los Merengues are worried. “Real’s directors are afraid of Juve,” Capello insisted in an interview with Fox Sports. “They asked me why [Max] Allegri’s defence never concedes goals. I told them it will be a balanced final, maybe Real will have an advantage due to the value of their attack. “Cristiano Ronaldo is still the best in the world at the moment.” Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti
