Sunday night sees the second Derby d’Italia of the season, with the Nerazzurri having won the first game at San Siro. “It’s a game every player dreams of playing in,” Alex Sandro told Premium Sport. “It’s gratifying but also difficult to take to the pitch against a great team like Inter. We’re Juve though, and regardless of the opponent we have to win and that’s it. “Inter are a great team with great players and they can beat anyone, as they’ve shown, but I think they’re too far back for the Scudetto. “They’re in good form and we have to be careful, but we’re first and we have to work very hard to stay in this position.” http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Surprisingly, the first triumph over the reigning champions, four matches into the current campaign, arrived when the Inter squad were still struggling to get to grips with the coaching practices of recently appointed Frank de Boer. Despite full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner giving the Old Lady a 66th minute lead, Il Biscione were quick to recover at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, with goals 10 minutes apart from captain Mauro Icardi and Ivan Perisic securing a 2-1 win. However, alongside a disastrous Europa League campaign, Inter lost four of their next seven domestic fixtures and the man who led Ajax to four straight Eredivisie titles was shown the door by the Nerazzurri hierarchy. With Il Biscione languishing in mid-table and city rivals AC Milan experiencing something of resurgence, salvaging something from this season looked far from the minds of the club’s multiple shareholders, as they appointed coach Stefano Pioli ahead of the Derby della Madonnina. Rather than the safe pair of hands the Italian was viewed as, to see Inter through the rest of the campaign with some sense of dignity, though, the 51-year-old has overseen an amazing reverse of their fortunes. Since a confidence boosting injury-time equaliser against the Rossoneri, the Nerazzurri have suffered just one loss – at another of Serie A’s more feared away destinations, Napoli – and embarked on a run of seven consecutive victories to sit fourth, nine points from Juventus. Lambasted for a lack of aptitude and efforts by de Boer, even midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia is responding to the ex-Lazio chief’s methods and was looking something close to the €31 million paid to Monaco for his services. What has been even more impressive during Inter’s upturn in form, though, is the lessening goalscoring burden on striker Icardi. Since taking over the Nerazzurri reigns, eight different players have appeared on scoreboards up-and-down the peninsula, after the Argentine accounted for more than 50 percent of their previous 16 goals. In contrast, fellow countryman Gonzalo Higuain has been the principal goal-getter for Juventus since mid-December, and even the experienced backline of the Bianconeri are going to have plenty of attacking threat to worry about at kick-off. What may concern Interisti, though, is whether this well-drilled Pioli team have enough craft from midfield to unlock a defence that have conceded the fewest leagues goals this term. While results offer a different view, an Inter defence consisting of Danilo D’Ambrosio, Miranda, Jeison Murillo and Cristian Ansaldi will also give a 44 goal Juventus side – second joint highest return in Italy – plenty of a reason to expect yet another victory on home soil. However, the Nerazzurri have proved over and over again that under Pioli the team perform greater than the sum of their parts and when referee Nicola Rizzoli set the two sides free in Turin it is guaranteed to be anything but a routine victory for the hosts. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

And when it comes to the rematch between Juventus and Inter Milan, it’s all about the former not letting what happened against the latter repeat itself once again. Sunday night’s match at Juventus Stadium has all the makings of a big-time, drama-filled Derby d’Italia. Juventus are in good form and playing good football since Max Allegri switched to a 4-2-3-1 formation. Inter, under the direction of Stefano Pioli have rebounded from a terrible start under Frank de Boer to rise up to fourth in the Serie A table entering the weekend’s slate of games. Because of this derby having such a big-time feel to it in the build-up, we’ve teamed up with SB Nation’s Inter blog, Serpents of Madonnina, and somebody who is behind a lot of their writings, Tim Kraus. Per usual it’s part of a packaged deal, and you can read the question and answer session I did with Mr. Kraus RIGHT HERE. Now, as is the case with a lot of the big games Juventus play in Italy — as well as if there’s a fellow blog on SB Nation about the upcoming opponent — here’s our latest rival Q&A. BWRAO: Tim, greetings from the black and white side of the world. I won’t drop any “LOL INTER” statements until game day, I promise. Here’s the first question: Inter weren't very good under Frank de Boer. They seem to be better under Stefano Pioli. What's changed? SoM: Before I get too critical of Frank de Boer, looking back, he walked into an extremely difficult situation. What could possibly go wrong when a relatively unproven manager (with no Serie A experience) takes over one of Italy’s biggest clubs just two weeks before the start of season? Yeah. Not a great idea. That aside, de Boer didn’t do much to help his cause. He was often tactically inflexible, and failed to make meaningful changes when matches weren’t going Inter’s way. Despite the victory against Juventus (which was a serious shock to most Inter fans) De Boer’s time with the club was an unmitigated disaster. Inter showed no consistency in Serie A, and crashed out of a Europa League group that many expected the club to easily top. Since taking over, Stefano Pioli has done an excellent job of righting the ship. I’d say the consistency, his ability to recognize and solve problems mid-match, and deploying players in positions best suited to their skillsets have been the biggest changes. BWRAO: Kinda like when Max Allegri took over at Juventus, Pioli wasn't an overwhelmingly popular choice. How has he done to right the ship at Inter and actually have the club win a decent amount of games in a row? SoM: While Pioli wasn’t the manager Inter fans expected or wanted to lead the club, I can’t stress enough how well he’s done since taking over. If you isolate the league since Pioli’s arrival, Inter would be top of the Serie A table, and despite the midweek loss to Lazio, the team is fresh off of a nine match-winning streak in all competitions. Pioli has brought a level of professionalism and consistency to Inter, which was sorely lacking under de Boer. His ability to adjust and make match-changing substitutions has really helped the club on this run or form. There’s a reason why Inter lead Serie A in late-match goals. BWRAO: Juventus signed Mattia Caldara, but not Roberto Gagliardini during the January transfer widnow. How happy are you that Juventus couldn't sign all of Atalanta's young Italians? And how has Gagliardini done since arriving at Inter? SoM: So happy! In my opinion, Inter signing Roberto Gagliardini was by far the best piece of business the club did in the January Transfer Window. That’s a huge compliment considering Inter were finally able to get rid of Stevan Jovetic and Andrea Ranocchia. Gagliardini has been a revelation since joining Inter. Despite being just 22-years-old, he looks like he’s been playing for the club for years, and his movement and passing have been superb. Inter fans everywhere are very excited about his future for both club and country. With Geoffrey Kondogbia starting and finishing the Coppa Italia match on Tuesday, I expect Gagliardini to line-up next to Marcelo Brozovic in the pivot on Sunday. BWRAO: Inter getting dumped out of the Coppa Italia — good thing? Bad thing? Meh thing? SoM: It’s certainly disappointing, as the Coppa Italia represented the last chance for Inter to win a trophy this season. As I mentioned above, the club embarrassingly crashed out of the Europa League, and — despite what some Juve players are saying — Inter are not challenging for the Scudetto this year. That being said, Inter didn’t play poorly on Tuesday. On another day, with better finishing, and without Miranda seeing a controversial red card, Inter would’ve won. So, while the loss is disappointing, it’s not the end of the world. The club making a strong push for a Champions League spot was always the main focus anyway. BWRAO: Maruo Icardi seems to score EVERY SINGLE TIME he plays against Juventus. Why must he continue to make Juve fans sweat like they've just seen the Boogyman or something? Also, do you think Icardi is entering this second game against Juventus playing some of his best football of the season? SoM: Well, keep in mind that Mauro Icardi is a very talented player that always seems to show up for the biggest matches. So I’m not surprised that he preforms well and scores in the Derby D’Italia. Considering the level of success Juventus have had in recent seasons, I’m glad to hear there are still some things that make you nervous! I do think Icardi is playing some of his best football of the season. While he isn’t scoring as many goals as he was earlier in the campaign, he’s constantly involved in the build-up play. Icardi’s runs and passing have allowed him to seamlessly link-up with the wingers, and the he’s helped create several goals this month. BWRAO: How would you grade Antonio Candreva's first season with Inter so far? SoM: When SoM did a first half review during the winter break, we unanimously voted Candreva as the best summer signing. That distinction has only recently been put in doubt by a string of outstanding performances from Joao Mario. Candreva has added much needed width to the squad, and has developed a lethal relationship with Icardi. He’s a player that almost always seems to be in the right place in the right time, and his movement and crossing from the wing are irreplaceable at the moment. Many Inter fans are disappointed with the lack of playing time given to Gabriel Barbosa, but that has mainly been the result of Candreva consistently playing at a high level this season. BWRAO: You made me give a prediction. So now you must make a prediction. Go! SoM: I’m cautiously optimistic about Sunday. Yes, facing Juventus in Turin is a nearly impossible task, but Inter are one of the most in-form teams in Europe at the moment. I’m going to go with a 1-1 draw, with Icardi scoring an equalizer in the last 15 minutes of the match. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Coming into the clash on the back of seven consecutive league victories, the Nerazzurri are priced at 5/1 (6.00) with Betway to move to within six points of top spot by making it eight in a row here. However, having broken the record for consecutive home victories in the Italian top flight by winning 27 in a row, Massimiliano Allegri’s team are 8/13 (1.62) favourites to come out on top once again in this one. The hosts are yet to draw any of their 17 league fixtures so far this campaign, but there are odds of 11/4 (3.75) available on them settling for a single point on this occasion. As the first away team ever to come away with victory from the Juventus Stadium, Stefano Pioli’s men look like the ideal candidates to end the Bianconeri’s historic winning streak. Having taken 25 points from 10 games since Pioli’s appointment – more than any other Serie A side – the visitors will certainly be confident of giving a good account of themselves. In fact, even under Frank de Boer’s short-lived campaign they managed to upset the champions, running out 2-1 winners at the San Siro back in September. While it would probably be too optimistic to expect a repeat performance, the fact they have only failed to score in four of their 25 fixtures this campaign suggests the travelling supporters will have a goal to celebrate on Sunday. Considering Juventus have found the net in 29 consecutive home games themselves in the league, odds of 4/5 (1.80) are surely too good to pass up on both teams getting on the scoresheet in an entertaining encounter between two heavyweights. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

It kicks off on Sunday at 20.45 CET - 19.45 GMT. “It can’t be a normal game for those who lived through Calciopoli, even if perhaps in those first few years afterwards it was more intense,” the defender told La Stampa newspaper. You can read the rest of the interview here. “The only real survivors of that era are me and Gigi Buffon, but it remains a very different challenge for all Juventini.” In 2006 the scandal saw Juventus stripped of two Scudetto titles, one of them handed over to Inter for finishing in third place behind Milan, and demoted to Serie B. “I think that 2006 team was like a bulldozer, very physical and without everything that happened we would’ve dominated in Italy and slowly in Europe too. “In 2015 we had a midfield of immense quality and The Professor directing us: Andrea Pirlo made everyone play better.” The rivalry was already strong, but only intensified after that situation and the bitter recrimination from both sides. Would Chiellini ever join Inter? “It’s something you can’t even talk about. The Juve fans love me because they see someone who gives his all and sees Juve as a family. “The opposition hate me because I am well aware that at times I can be an irritating player. Having said that, recently Leo (Bonucci) is surpassing me on that count, they leave me alone. “I think Mauro Icardi and Paulo Dybala can be the decisive figures tomorrow. If Dybala lights up, he is in his generation the closest to becoming a top world class player. “Icardi is a great striker with goals in his blood. He always scored and always will, even if he’s already had a few too many against us. I saw against Chievo that he tracked back 30 metres to win the ball and that sparked a goal. Those are important signs. “Inter are coming back up and cannot hide the fact they’ve got a squad that must target the Scudetto. They have been proving that in the last few months under Stefano Pioli.” The assignation of referee Nicola Rizzoli to the Derby d’Italia sparked controversy among fans, who claim he secretly supports Juventus. “You don’t even notice these things after so many years. As long as the fans do it, fine, but if a member of the club or media was to say that, I’d find it pathetic. “It’s like that controversy last week over Buffon saluting the referee at the end of the game. I mean honestly…” http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Once again, the Bianconeri had a great start, quickly managed to get to a two-nil lead and never looked back. I think a post-game quote by Massimiliano Allegri was very telling: “We were too conservative so we decided change things up.” We were certainly the aggressors in the past few matches and unless something big happens, this formation will live on. Certainly the Sunday game will be the biggest test for the new tactic, but the last three tilts were not freebies either and we will be at home. The blueprint will be the same and hopefully it will be successful once again. Gonzalo Higuain has benefited greatly from being the main finisher upfront and his ability to be at the right place at the right time is almost unmatched. The coach has managed to re-create a situation similar to last year’s Napoli, but without the sense of deference that was palpable with the Azzurri, who were force-feeding El Pipita to increase his scoring record. Here it is more organic: Paulo Dybala, Juan Cuadrado and Miralem Pjanic have room to do their things, but more often than not the end result is a clear-cut chance for Higuain. There are a couple of small doubts, but all indications point to the confirmation of the same XI we have seen lately, then there will probably be some rotation in the Crotone game. Claudio Marchisio is fit and ready to go, but it should be Sami Khedira starting. Andrea Barzagli is challenging Stephan Lichtsteiner at right-back, but the Swiss train is on track to play from the get-go. Dani Alves is inching closer full availability and we could see him on the pitch sooner rather than later. Barzagli is also dealing with some flu so he might not even be in the squad list. Stephan Lichsteiner has signed a one-year extension earlier this week, meaning that he no longer has an expiring contract. Reportedly, Juventus had a unilateral option, but it looks like it was a mutual agreement. In all likelihood, the RB position will be untouched this summer and then will be re-assessed when Pol Lirola returns for 2018/2019. To nobody’s surprise, Lichsteiner was inserted in the UCL list, replacing Hernanes: a mandatory measure to stick to the four-man defence. The stint of the Brazilian midfielder at Juventus seems close to ending: Genoa tried hard for him but was rebuffed by the player, Sao Paolo and a Chinese team are after him and the transfer market is still open over there. As many expected, the deadline day was uneventful and the management decided to stay put, keeping Rolando Mandragora and Federico Mattiello, and opting not to make a push for Leandro Paredes. That move would have triggered a domino including Mario Lemina to Crystal Palace and Daniele Baselli to Roma, but there was probably too little time to set it up completely. Paredes has struggled to fit in with Giallorossi and also got badly hurt: he played very well at Empoli when he was moved to the deep-lying position. That role is not included in the current scheme and Juventus have a similar player arriving in the summer, Rodrigo Bentacur, so that is probably why they were gun shy. Anyway, the whispers are telling about the future of Lemina: A few offers for him were rejected last summer, but that might not be the case going forward. Probable lineup: 4-2-3-1: Buffon; Lichtsteiner, Bonucci, Chiellini, Sandro; Khedira, Pjanic; Cuadrado, Dybala, Mandzukic; Higuain. Injuries: Lemina (back), Mandragora (foot). Suspensions: None. Inter Milan Inter are in very good form. Before stumbling at home in Coppa Italia against Lazio, they had won seven games in a row in Serie A and nine in all competitions. They have unlikely climbed back into the Champions League race after looking moribund for two good months. They have certainly taken advantage of a favourable stretch of the schedule: they have faced Genoa, Sassuolo, Lazio, Udinese, Chievo Verona, Palermo and Pescara. Not many toughies there, but it is undeniable that this is a much different team compared to the train wreck of the final days of the Frank De Boer tenure. What is weird is that, besides some short detours to 3-4-2-1, Stefano Pioli has turned things around using mostly the same tactic of the Dutch coach, 4-2-3-1. The main difference has been the return on the pitch of Marcelo Brozovic, who was basically frozen out also because of a contractual standoff that has been solved with an extension. Then Roberto Gagliardini was added in January for a hefty price tag, but he has delivered. No injuries or suspensions for Nerazzuri, but there are three doubts in their XI for Sunday night. The coach has said that he sees Gary Medel more as a centre-back than a central midfielder and the below average performances of Jeison Murillo make him a candidate to be supplanted. Cristian Ansaldi has not been very good this year after a stellar season at Genoa but he has started most of the games and is the favourite to do so also against Juventus, but Yuto Nagatomo and Davide Santon are not far behind. The most interesting one involves the midfield: their best lineup has Gagliardini-Brozovic in front of the defence and Joao Mario in the hole. However, some reports indicate that Pioli could prefer a more defensive look, with Geoffrey Kondogbia, who has recently shown flashes of his old Monaco self, as holding midfielder and Brozovic in a more advanced position. An even more conservative approach would include Medel returning to his old role. The choice will be revealing. Their main sources of offense are the flanks: Antonio Candreva and Ivan Perisic are both high motor and skilled players, who can finish too. Candreva has had the most crosses in Europe so far. Mauro Icardi is a notorious Juventus killer and this year he has grown also as assist-man rather than just being an excellent goal scorer. With so many offensive threats all over the field, it is easy for an attacking midfielder to sneak in the box unguarded: Joao Mario has scored twice in the last two games. Ball possession, pace control, flank game, through balls, physical play, technical midfielders, elite striker: they are not far different from Juventus’ style and this makes for a very interesting clash. Probable lineup: 4-2-3-1: Handanovic; D’Ambrosio, Medel, Miranda, Ansaldi; Gagliardini, Kondogbia; Candreva, Brozovic, Perisic; Icardi. Injuries: None. Suspensions: None. It kicks off on Sunday at 20.45 CET - 19.45 GMT. Starting out with questions about the 4-2-3-1 tactics, Allegri joked about the interest in his adjustments. “Claudio Marchisio is available, but it’s only normal to struggle a little after such a serious injury. If I knew I was going to get so many questions over the system, I’d go back and not bother changing it!” said the Coach in his Press conference. “It’s not the system that needs to improve, but Juventus! We mustn’t think that we need the minimum effort to win a game and be so conservative. We’ve got to all improve and raise the bar. We all need that in our heads if we want to grow. “Tomorrow is a big game, one that is wonderful for us and them to play in. These are two squads who are capable of winning the Scudetto, fortunately Inter had a rough start and we have the advantage in the table, but the potential of the sides is very similar. “Andrea Barzagli won’t train today, as he still had a bit of a temperature this morning, so we’ll see tomorrow. “Inter have great attacking potential, as Mauro Icardi and Gonzalo Higuain are two of the best strikers not just in Italy, but the world. Tomorrow will be a game at a very high level of technique and that is good for Italian football. “A season is made up of various moments, sometimes you need to stick with it, sometimes to change. Even during a single match there are many different mini-encounters that we have to read and adjust. “In my view, a Coach should do as little damage as possible. I never put a centre-forward in central defence. My job is to put the best players in their best positions. “Paulo Dybala was injured for two months, his condition is improving and as it’s his second year, people expect more from him. That’s the burden of being a great player.” Inter beat Juventus in their last two meetings between Serie A and the Coppa Italia. “Our last game with Inter was very strange, as we were distracted on the goals, but these points are worth the same as against Crotone, so we need to be ready and play the same way against any opponent. “Stephan Lichtsteiner is doing well and I am very happy. There was a bit of chaos with regards to the market, but his characteristics are very important and Dani Alves will be too, as he’s back in shape and has understood Italian football now. “I think Miralem Pjanic needs to improve in the way he creates play, as sometimes he does these tiny little five metre passes that drive me crazy. With a two-man midfield he feels better and it might just be a psychological issue.” The reports of Allegri going to Arsenal next season continue to circulate in England. “I have an excellent rapport with the club, I have a year and a half on my contract and the priority is to end the season well.” Allegri said goodbye to Patrice Evra following the move to Olympique Marseille. “I think Patrice for all he brought to the side, including his experience in the locker room that helped some young players to grow. It’s an important loss, but we both made this choice and he showed great responsibility and honesty to admit he didn’t feel prepared to play every now and then. “I realise it was hard to accept that role when he started at Manchester United and Juventus for 10 years.” http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Manager Massimiliano Allegri spoke to the media in his pre-match press conference, and was straight away besieged with questions about the aggressive 4-2-3-1 formation. “Claudio Marchisio is available, but it’s only normal to struggle a little after such a serious injury. If I knew I was going to get so many questions over the system, I’d go back and not bother changing it! “It’s not the system that needs to improve, but Juventus! We mustn’t think that we need the minimum effort to win a game and be so conservative. We’ve got to all improve and raise the bar. We all need that in our heads if we want to grow. “Andrea Barzagli won’t train today, as he still had a bit of a temperature this morning, so we’ll see tomorrow. With a two-man midfield he feels better and it might just be a psychological issue.” He also talked about tomorrow’s opponents Inter, and what to expect from them. “Tomorrow is a big game, one that is wonderful for us and them to play in. These are two squads who are capable of winning the Scudetto, fortunately Inter had a rough start and we have the advantage in the table, but the potential of the sides is very similar. That’s the burden of being a great player.” Between this season and the last, Juve have now lost twice to Inter, in the Coppa Italia and Serie A. “Our last game with Inter was very strange, as we were distracted on the goals, but these points are worth the same as against Crotone, so we need to be ready and play the same way against any opponent. This is going to become an occurrence every press conference now - the rumours of Allegri taking over at Arsenal next season. “I have an excellent rapport with the club, I have a year and a half on my contract and the priority is to end the season well.” Allegri also spoke about Patrice Evra who left the club in the January transfer window.

While the match has lost its allure in recent years, the result will never be an easy one to predict. On Sunday evening, Juventus host Internazionale and many cannot separate the two teams. While the Bianconeri are the champions of Italy and predicted to clinch the title again for a record-breaking sixth time in a row, Inter are the most in-form team in Italy, achieving seven consecutive Serie A wins under the auspices of their most recent coach, Stefano Pioli. Pioli has long been the most underrated coach in Italy for he has rarely produced entertaining football. To many he's simply a solid tactician who fixes problems to create a working unit, one that sacrifices and works together to achieve results. While his sides are always respected, they are rarely feared as many still opine technique still trumps hard graft. The truth is, Pioli is a product of the Juventus way. He favours hard work to enthralling technique and group cohesion to individual moments of beauty. However, it is his respect for mental fortitude that has earned him his success and the chance to coach Inter, a team he guided to nine consecutive wins in all competitions before slipping up to Lazio, his former team, midweek. A certain chunk of what Pioli learned as a footballer and as a coach came during his years at Juventus, when he played as a defender for the Old Lady. While the tactician was always an Inter fan, enthralled by the likes of Alessandro Altobelli and more, he was happy to accept a transfer to Turin. As revealed in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, the father thought the experience would serve him well. Besides, "Juventus pay more." Juventus are also a machine. Never a club known for beautiful football, but rather their unwavering devotion to success, the Bianconeri defined strength in character. This is perhaps why Massimiliano Allegri is tired of answering questions about the Old Lady's new 4-2-3-1 formation: "It's not the system that needs to improve, but Juventus." Tactics are a beautiful thing and formations are important but they mean nothing if they are not perfectly executed. Juve's latest shape is not the reason behind the team's renewed vigour but the idea of it has sparked more interest from the players. The squad now cover more ground, running just under 10 kilometres more per game while the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Mario Mandzukic have proved themselves leaders capable of scoring as well as assisting and defending. Yet even in this new formation, Juventus are capable of being overwhelmed if they stop playing at 100 percent. Milan proved that in the second half of the Coppa Italia match only last week. Pioli, like Allegri understands this very point. Unlike Frank de Boer before him, the new Inter coach has no interest in creating tactical legacies or even in entertaining the masses. He cares only about the win like Giampiero Boniperti once preached and that is why Juventus should fear him and his Nerazzurri side. Inter are solid, compact and united. They no longer rely on Mauro Icardi to score the goals but happy to share the duties and glory. Eight different players have netted for the club in their last seven league matches with Icardi not only continuing to score but happy to provide his teammates with assists. Every player within their deep squad, from Geoffrey Kondogbia to Marcelo Brozovic, feels part of a team. Each man is happy to sacrifice. In the words of Miranda, Pioli united them and made them "stronger mentally and tactically." Mentalities can be strengthened and improved in many ways. While Antonio Conte used his words and visible hunger to motivate the troops, Allegri relies on what he knows best, his understanding of tactics. He cannot command the room in the same way as his predecessor nor can he jump and gesticulate on the sidelines in such a manner as to spark mad hunger. So, Allegri tinkers. He is a genius not because he uncovered a brilliant formation but because through that formation, he found a way of recapturing the team's interest, in earning back their hunger for victory. Mandzukic has turned into a forward-slash-perfect defender, Higuain is now an assist maker as well as a predator while the so-called physically broken Sami Khedira is delighting in his heavier workload, running relentlessly to make timely runs forward as well as running back to provide a defensive shield when possession has been lost. By entrusting them to indulge in attacking play, the players repaid Allegri by ensuring defensive concentration. Juventus versus Inter will be the perfect advertisement for Italian football. There may not be an avalanche of audacious goals nor a flick and a trick to delight the neutrals but there will be a battle, both mentally and tactically, demonstrating what Italian football has always been about, that burning desire for victory. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

The defender had been in doubt, as Coach Max Allegri confirmed he had a temperature over the last few days. Barzagli did not train yesterday and this morning woke up still feeling unwell. Juve have sent him home, so Stephan Lichtsteiner is expected to start in a 4-2-3-1 formation. It’ll keep the all-star approach shown by Max Allegri in recent outings, with Gonzalo Higuain, Mario Mandzukic, Paulo Dybala, Juan Cuadrado and Miralem Pjanic together. Mario Lemina is the only injury absentee, though Hernanes has been left out during negotiations with Hebei China Fortune. Inter have a full squad to choose from, as Stefano Pioli seeks an eighth consecutive Serie A victory. The Nerazzurri had won nine in a row in all competition before Tuesday’s 2-1 home defeat to Lazio in the Coppa Italia quarter-final. It’s likely he will continue with three at the back, including Gary Medel, while Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic support Mauro Icardi. Another option would be adding Joao Mario to a trio backing Icardi and playing a four-man defence. Juventus (probable): Buffon; Lichtsteiner, Bonucci, Chiellini, Alex Sandro; Khedira, Pjanic; Cuadrado, Dybala, Mandzukic; Higuain Juventus bench: Neto, Audero, Benatia, Barzagli, Rugani, Asamoah, Dani Alves, Rincon, Sturaro, Mandragora, Marchisio, Pjaca Inter (probable): Handanovic; Murillo, Miranda, Medel; Candreva, Gagliardini, Kondogbia, D'Ambrosio; Brozovic, Perisic; Icardi Inter bench: Carrizo, Andreolli, Santon, Ansaldi, Nagatomo, Joao Mario, Banega, Biabiany, Palacio, Eder, Gabriel Barbosa, Pinamonti http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

The Bianconeri have an opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the table, but face a side that already beat them 2-1 at San Siro this season in Frank de Boer’s lone real highlight. Max Allegri’s men are currently on an all-time Serie A record run of 27 consecutive home victories and are unbeaten in Turin in all competition since September 2015 (W33 D7). Stefano Pioli has revitalised the squad, steering them to seven top flight wins on the bounce and it was nine in a row in all competition until Tuesday’s 2-1 Coppa Italia quarter-final loss to Lazio. Juve seem to have settled with their new 4-2-3-1 formation, which includes the ‘Fab Five’ of Miralem Pjanic, Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic, Juan Cuadrado and Gonzalo Higuain. Pipita has scored in each of his last six Juve appearances. He also has a good record against Inter, netting five in all competition. There was the possibility of returning to 3-5-2 this evening, but Andrea Barzagli has been ruled out by flu symptoms, so Stephan Lichtsteiner steps in at right-back. Mario Lemina is the only other player unavailable, along with Hernanes, who is on the verge of a move to Hebei China Fortune. Despite their impressive current form, Inter make changes to their set-up and field a 3-4-2-1 formation. Gary Medel is in the three-man defence, Antonio Candreva and Danilo D’Ambrosio take the wings with Geoffrey Kondogbia benched. Ivan Perisic and Joao Mario fan out behind hitman Mauro Icardi. The Argentine particularly loves facing Juventus, scoring seven goals past them in eight meetings – three of those at the Juventus Stadium. Joao Mario and Ever Banega are therefore benched with Gary Medel replacing Jeison Murillo as the centre-back. The referee this evening is Nicola Rizzoli and it’s wet and windy in Turin. There is going to be a very special guest, as Chelsea Coach Antonio Conte and his brother will be in the stands. This is the 168th Serie A meeting between Inter and Juventus. So far the Bianconeri have won 79, drawn 42 and lost 46. Since 2005, Inter have managed just one Serie A victory in Turin, a 3-1 result in November 2012, along with three draws and six defeats. Juventus: Buffon; Lichtsteiner, Bonucci, Chiellini, Alex Sandro; Khedira, Pjanic; Cuadrado, Dybala, Mandzukic; Higuain Juventus bench: Neto, Audero, Benatia, Rugani, Asamoah, Dani Alves, Rincon, Sturaro, Mandragora, Marchisio, Pjaca Inter: Handanovic; Murillo, Miranda, Medel; Candreva, Gagliardini, Brozovic, D'Ambrosio; Joao Mario, Perisic; Icardi Inter bench: Carrizo, Andreolli, Santon, Ansaldi, Nagatomo, Kondogbia, Banega, Biabiany, Palacio, Eder, Gabriel Barbosa, Pinamonti http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

He was the first to realise he mustn’t repeat a gesture like that, but we did not blow it out of proportion.” Juventus were interested in signing Icardi last summer before they put down €90m to get Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli. “Icardi is a good player, who deserves to be the absolute first choice at Inter. The Bianconeri had won a Serie A all-time record 27 consecutive home games, while the Nerazzurri were on a run of seven top flight victories in a row. Andrea Barzagli was out with flu and Mario Lemina injured, so Stephan Lichtsteiner stepped in to join the so-called ‘Fab Five’ in this all-attack system. Stefano Pioli picked an unusual formation with Jeison Murillo gravitating towards Mario Mandzukic on the Juve left, benching Geoffrey Kondogbia. It was almost an astounding start, as after three minutes Stephan Lichtsteiner’s cross was knocked down for a Paulo Dybala for a scissor-kick volley that Samir Handanovic palmed away. Dybala went even closer on 12 minutes, his curler from the edge of the box leaving Handanovic stranded, but bouncing off the top of the crossbar. Inter threatened from a corner, Roberto Gagliardini blasting over, but Lichtsteiner was in a wrestling match with Danilo D’Ambrosio during that set play. Joao Mario drilled inches wide from the D with Gigi Buffon well beaten, the goalkeeper’s reaction saying it all about just how close that was. Gagliardini’s header was straight at Buffon and Gonzalo Higuain scuffed wide from Alex Sandro’s cross. After 28 minutes, Max Allegri told Juventus to switch to 4-4-2. There was a flurry of activity at both ends, as on a corner Perisic’s header tested Buffon and as Icardi went on to the rebound, he was tackled by Mandzukic. Inter wanted a penalty and the referee waved play on. Moments later Mandzukic got in front of Murillo for a diving header on Cuadrado’s cross that went all the way along the face of goal to skim the far post. Then Perisic crossed for Icardi’s flick, but he didn’t get enough on it and turned wide from six yards. Miralem Pjanic’s free kick was finertipped on to the crossbar at the near side by Handanovic, but on the resulting corner it bounced out to the edge of the box for Juan Cuadrado’s missile on the half-volley into the near top corner. With title rivals Roma not playing until Tuesday, the champions took full advantage and Cuadrado's marvellous goal provided the perfect response to second-placed Napoli's 7-1 thrashing of Bologna earlier in the weekend. Inter beat Juve at San Siro in September and Stefano Pioli's men came into this game with designs on a title fight after a run of seven consecutive league victories. However, following Inter's Coppa Italia reverse against Lazio in midweek, Massimiliano Allegri's side also proved too strong after Cuadrado's first league goal of the season turned an entertaining contest in their favour at the end of the first half. Paulo Dybala had clipped the woodwork early on, but the visitors were a match for the table-toppers until the Colombia international broke the deadlock in style. Although Inter remained a threat after the break, Juve have now won 28 consecutive home league games and Inter's frustrations boiled over late on as Ivan Perisic was dismissed for dissent. The game set off at a frantic pace and Samir Handanovic was soon forced into a strong stop from Dybala's acrobatic volley. While the action swung from end to end, amid a flurry of heavy challenges and poor final balls, Dybala supplied another moment of quality as he curled delicately against the crossbar from 20 yards. Roberto Gagliardini snatched at Inter's first chance, shooting over the crossbar, and then nodded straight at Gianluigi Buffon after Joao Mario had struck a low effort inches past the left-hand post. Gonzalo Higuain uncharacteristically pulled an attempted finish wide at the other end, and Mario Mandzukic also headed across the face of goal, but the visitors enjoyed a dominant spell as Buffon parried from Perisic and watched Mauro Icardi narrowly miss the target. However, Juve headed into the break in front as Cuadrado forged a breakthrough in the final minute of the half. Pjanic was again denied by Handanovic, low to the goalkeeper's left, early in the second period, while Gagliardini turned a header over the top for Inter. Icardi led a counter for the visitors, opting to go for goal himself and blazing over, and Pioli's side were then grateful to Handanovic as sharp saves from Higuain and Mandzukic kept them in the game. Jeison Murillo's curler missed the top-left corner as Inter attacked time and time again in the closing stages, but their final roll of the dice ended with a red card for Perisic. With Handanovic forward for a corner, referee Nicola Rizzoli spotted a foul, booking the goalkeeper for his protests and then dismissing Perisic after an aggressive confrontation in the final act of a thrilling, fiery clash. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Buffon Produced a few excellent stops to deny Inter the breakthrough in the first half. His confidence and leadership in goal proved vital during Inter's periods of pressure. 12Alex Sandro A responsible showing on the flank, providing some good support on the overlap while honouring his defensive responsibilities. 3G. Chiellini An excellent job of organising his side at the back and seeing them through Inter's high press. Read the play well and was up for the physical challenge. 19L. Bonucci Made some important interceptions and was assured in keeping Icardi under wraps. Needed to be stronger in the challenge, however. 26S. Lichtsteiner Not much of a threat on the overlap, but proved dependable in defence as he did well on the flank to keep Perisic to the outside. 6S. Khedira A typically committed showing in midfield, reading the game well and distributing the ball soundly. 5M. Pjanić Just barely denied a goal by Handanovic and the crossbar from a free-kick. Ran himself into the ground as he covered every blade of grass. 17M. Mandžukić Plays with such a tenacity that makes him a nightmare for defenders. Proved a real physical presence, though there wasn't much from him in terms of creativity. Nearly put the game to bed late, but a superb reactionary stop from Handanovic denied him. 9G. Higuaín Clever interplay up top and produced some strong hold up play, but he needed to be more clinical to make more of his limited looks in front of goal. 21P. Dybala Inter had a nightmare trying to contain him in attack. He was denied a spectacular opener early on by Handanovic, and then again later by the crossbar. Provided a reliable link between midfield and attack. 7J. Cuadrado Opened the scoring with a lightning bolt into the top corner. A spirited display on the flank, full of running as he got up and down the pitch to great effect. Internazionale 1S. Handanovič Inter's hero on the night, producing a string of world-class saves to keep the Nerazzurri within reach. 25Miranda The best and brightest of Inter's back three, winning possession back on a number of occasions for his side and did well to thwart Higuain. 33D. D'Ambrosio Eager to get forward on the flank but lacked quality with his final ball. Needed to be more responsible in tracking back. 24J. Murillo Had a bit more freedom to roam forward and was keen to play on the ball. Distributed it nicely out from the back. 17G. Medel Feisty as always was the Chilean, who anchored the back three and did a very sound job of keeping everything in front of him, though almost to a fault as he dropped a bit too deep at times. 5R. Gagliardini So elusive on set-pieces, as he had three great chances to put the ball into the net but failed to take advantage. A real physical display in midfield. 77M. Brozović A commanding presence in midfield, seeing plenty of the ball, but he was rather underwhelming in possession before being replaced after an hour. 6João Mário Refreshingly direct and decisive in possession, applying real pressure on the Juventus defence with his strong running on the ball. Came inches away from opening the scoring in the first half. 9M. Icardi A woeful display up top, completely kept under wraps by the likes of Chiellini and Bonucci, who hardly afforded him a sniff of the ball. 44I. Perišić Kept to the outside but that didn't prevent him from playing in some terrific crosses. A difficult man to track on the flank, though his night ended in misery as he was issued a straight red card for dissent. 87A. Candreva Went into the book early on and there was a real timid nature about his play going forward. Struggled to involve himself in attack and was replaced before the hour. Substitutes 23Dani Alves Didn't miss a beat after replacing Lichtsteiner for the final 10 minutes. 24D. Rugani Came on late and helped see out the win. 8C. Marchisio Provided fresh legs in midfield that proved decisive in seeing off the Inter pressure. Substitutes 7G. Kondogbia A much more spirited showing in midfield after replacing Brozovic. 8R. Palacio Not much of an impact off the bench. 23Eder A bit too selfish at times, but was crisp with his passing when he opted to do so. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

The Inter goalkeeper was decisive again on Higuain’s snapshot after a Dybala through ball, but on the counter Eder wasted a promising chance for Inter and Murillo’s curler was not far off the top corner. Handanovic palmed a Mandzukic diving header over the bar from close range. It got fiery in stoppages and Perisic was sent off for dissent. The on-loan Chelsea winger, under the watchful eye of his visiting Stamford Bridge boss Antonio Conte, rifled home an unstoppable volley as the clock struck 45 minutes at the Juventus Stadium. A much-improved Inter team looked good for a goal at times but neither Joao Mario nor Ivan Perisic -- later dismissed for arguing with referee Nicola Rizzoli -- could deny Juve their 28th consecutive Serie A home win. Juve must play a game-in-hand at 18th-placed Crotone in midweek, and triumph in Calabria would see them pull nine points clear in the title race. Under Stefano Pioli, Inter are no longer fragile and disorganised as they so often were under his predecessor Frank de Boer, and the switch to a three-man defence has allowed the head coach to make the most of his attacking options. The visitors went steaming forward from the first whistle and if it were not for the earnest Juve rearguard they might have caught their opponents cold. Instead Massimiliano Allegri's men made the best early headway with Paulo Dybala testing Samir Handanovic with an acrobatic scissor-kick before the Argentinian returned to the Inter box to smash the ball off the top of the crossbar. Pressure absorbed, Inter responded with Joao Mario fizzing a daisy-cutter just wide of a post and then finding Perisic for a header that was punched clear by Gianluigi Buffon. The action swung from end to end and after Mario Mandzukic wasted a close-range chance to nod home, Inter raced downfield, Perisic pinging the ball in from the left only for Mauro Icardi to kick off target with Giorgio Chiellini bearing down on him. Juve sounded one last warning shot -- Miralem Pjanic's free kick was only kept out by a desperate flick from Handanovic -- before snatching the lead in style. After a corner the ball fell to Cuadrado, who looked up before steering a rising half-volley past Handanovic's glove and into the back of the net. That hammer blow to end the first half forced a rethink from Inter, who were more cautious immediately after the restart, with only a tricky run from Pjanic onto a Gonzalo Higuain through-ball giving Handanovic any real food for thought before the hour. Inter refused to abandon their patient approach, steadily building through the gears while frustrating the three-pronged Juve attack. It did not help them keep Higuain out of their box, though, with the 15-goal striker able to launch a first-time rocket down Handanovic's throat in the 78th minute. The Slovenian stopper made another fine save to keep Mandzukic's header out at the death, but Juve had done enough. Having taken revenge on Inter for their 2-1 derby defeat in September, they pulled six points clear at the top of the Serie A table. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Juan Cuadrado’s ferocious half-volley proved the only goal in Turin this evening. “It was a good game against a strong side. We wanted this victory and we’re happy,” he told Mediaset Premium. “We’ve opened up a bigger gap from one of the favourites, so we’re happy and will carry on like this. It’s a long road, but we are doing very well. “We can all score in this system, as there is so much quality. Cuadrado scored a wonderful goal, we kept a clean sheet and are therefore doubly content. “Napoli play beautiful football and deserve compliments, but we have to focus on ourselves. We are top of the table and, if we win them all, we will certainly be champions.” http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

"Why am I always happy? I was made like this," he told La Repubblica last week. "And the fact that I'm Colombian helps because South Americans are cheerful in nature - Colombians most of all. "The Italians have a different culture; they are very concentrated. But Brazil have won five World Cups singing and dancing, right? It is not the case that if you listen to music, make jokes of if you smile, then you're not thinking about the game." Indeed, if anything, Cuadrado often thought too much about the game - and what he wanted to do within it. Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri is just the latest in a string of coaches to call the Colombian on his propensity for procrastination. Cuadrado is finally listening, though. Certainly, he didn't think twice about what to do with a ball that bounced invitingly for him just outside the Inter area during the closing seconds of an absorbing first half in Sunday's Derby d'Italia. Cuadrado immediately advanced and sent a first-time shot flying past Samir Handanovic, who was beaten all ends up by the sheer speed of the strike. It was his first top-flight goal since April 2016 and, Cuadrado being Cuadrado, he responded with a little dance for the camera over by the right corner flag. And why not? The former Chelsea man is enjoying his football at the moment but then, so are all of his team-mates. A Juve side that appeared to be sleepwalking its way towards a sixth successive Scudetto has been revitalised by Allegri's bold decision to switch to a 4-2-3-1 for this month's Serie A clash with in-form Lazio. Even director Beppe Marotta admitted before the game in Turin that he was "curious" to see how a Bianconeri side packed with attackers would perform. He needn't have worried. Despite fielding Gonzalo Higuain, Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic, Cuadrado and Miralem Pjanic in the same starting 11, the Old Lady not only looked more potent in attack but also more solid at the back. "I think it’s a good system, which takes advantage of all the quality we have up front," Mandzukic enthused. "When it comes to defending we all defend together. There’s balance." That balance was again in evidence in Sunday's 1-0 win over an impressive Inter side. Mandzukic once more showed the advantage in having a centre-forward playing as a winger. Inter had specifically switched to three at the back to counter the Croat's aerial threat but Mandzukic beat Jeison Murillo in the air twice in the first-half alone. On the first occasion, Mandzukic's knockdown was acrobatically volleyed towards goal by Dybala only for Samir Handanovic to pull off a spectacular save. Shortly before the break, Mandzukic headed Cuadrado's cross just wide, after muscling Murillo out of his way at the back post. Dybala, meanwhile, illustrated just how dangerous he can be in the pocket by clipping the top of the bar with an ingenious effort from outside the area, after being teed up by Miralem Pjanic. The former Palermo starlet also linked well with Higuain, who went close to making it 2-0 with just over 10 minutes remaining, after being slipped into space by his compatriot. One imagines, though, that Allegri will be even more enthused by Juve's defensive work. Inter had their chances, particularly during an accomplished and adventurous first-half showing, with Roberto Gagliardini, Icardi and Ivan Perisic all going close. The Nerazzurri had more shots on the Bianconeri goal (12) than any other side so far this season. However, the fact of the matter is that since switching to 4-2-3-1, Juve have won their third successive Serie A game without conceding a goal - and done so against a side that had arrived in Turin on the back of seven successive league wins. Victory also means that Juve have taken yet another considerable step towards that historic sixth consecutive Scudetto but, of arguably greater importance, is the possibility that Allegri might just have come up with a formation capable of conquering Europe. "We can use the 4-2-3-1 against Inter, Real Madrid or Barcelona," defender Giorgio Chiellini enthused ahead of the Derby d'Italia, "although you have to be in good shape physically to sacrifice yourself. "However, it’s more than just a technical issue. Allegri was really smart to find this new system because we needed something to shake us up." And put a smile back on the players' faces. The benefits of the formation chance have been both tactical and psychological. Who knows? With Cuadrado leading the way, Allegri's Juve might just be able to sing and dance their way to Champions League glory. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Goals within 10 minutes? Check. Goals within the first 20 minutes? Check. Multiple-goal leads? Yep, check that one off, too. There wasn’t the same kind of early-game domination or looking up at a 2-0 lead on the scoreboard with 25 minutes off the clock in the first half. There was the same kind of end result, though. Juan Cuadrado and his late-first-half rocket of a volley proved to be the difference between Juventus and Inter Milan in an absolutely scintillating 138th edition of the Derby d’Italia. A game between two of the hottest and in-form teams in Italy lived up to the hype, and Juventus were able to push their winning streak at Juventus In one of Juve’s biggest challenges to that same home winning streak in Serie A, they certainly rose to the challenge and continued to put forth one hell of a performance. Was there one Juve player that had a bad game? Was there? Go ahead and try. You might be searching for a while because, honestly, there wasn’t. They delivered again. Follow JMichael @m1897 9:32 PM - 5 Feb 2017 310310 Retweets 240240 likes Same. It’s the first weekend of February and Juventus seems to continue to be getting better with the new formation Max Allegri has rolled out. There will probably be some kind of rotation during the midweek fixture against Crotone, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. This current starting group, one that has been the same for this entire serious uptick in form, has been playing some lights-out football over the past four weeks. It doesn’t matter if it’s how they attack — which is really, really good. It doesn’t matter if it’s how they are creating chances — which seem to be plentiful and more than just a little dangerous. This is what Juve’s new formation is supposed to produce — and it has. This game was wide open. Instead of 1-0 at halftime it could have been 3-1 or 4-2. That’s how wild it was Sunday night. But the thing is, Juventus’ defense didn’t crack completely. And when Juve got the lead, they protected it like all hell. For as many chances as Inter did have, they either sent the shots wide or were shutdown even before a shot could get off. Case in point: Inter took 12 shots in the game. Gigi Buffon had to make two saves. Just another good day at the office. The small sample size of Juventus playing well is starting to get larger and larger. It’s starting to look like something for real rather than a short-term fix that Yep. Same. Photo by Valerio Pennicino/Getty Images RANDOM THOUGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS /clears throat/ LOL INTER! /takes bow Stefano Pioli has managed 14 games against Allegri in their respective coaching careers. In those 14 games, Pioli has yet to win one of them. Max has got some ownage, to say the least. I mentioned on Twitter during the first half that Alex Sandro wasn’t getting forward as much as we’re used to seeing him do. There was a pretty good reason for that — the defensive work he put in against Antonio Candreva. Giorgio Chiellini was an absolute monster against Inter. Mario Mandzukic was an absolute monster against Inter. Sami Khedira was an absolute monster against Inter. Cuadrado had a couple of questionable crosses and decisions in the first half. I think that goal he scored was a pretty good way to make up for it. Samir Handanovic went full-on Federico Marchetti against Juventus. It seemed like every one of his saves were absolutely world-class stops. You combine those saves with the pair of shots Juve had go off the crossbar in the first half and it could have been a lot worse for Inter on Sunday. This was a classic kind of Chiellini game in a matchup against a top-flight striker like Mauro Icardi where he needed to be at his best. Chiellini was everywhere. He was making clearances everywhere. He was falling over and drawing fouls everywhere. He even got to make one of his most-desired runs forward where he gets to pretend he’s an attacking midfielder or tries out his best Paulo Dybala impression. If Chiellini isn’t Man of the Match, he’s gotta be in the top three at least. He was an animal against Inter. Just the kind of game where you’d expect him to be at his crunching-tackle best. Of all the players to finish without being shown a yellow card, how is Roberto Gagliardini one of them? Side note: Gagliardini is already very good. He’s going to be even better as long as Inter-itis doesn’t get to him in the same kind of fashion that has to other talented young Italians who have signed with the club in recent memory. Juventus beats Inter. Juventus records a clean sheet. Gigi Buffon is one happy guy. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Juan Cuadrado got the only goal of the Derby d’Italia just before half-time, a scorching half-volley into the top corner, but the hosts also hit the crossbar twice. “It was a match of a very high quality, worthy of the Champions League semi-final both in terms of individual talent and overall performance,” Allegri told Mediaset Premium and Sky Sport Italia. “At times we weren’t very organised and got caught on the counter, but we created several chances to take the lead and then finish it off. We hardly allowed Inter any opportunities at all. “Fortunately for us, Inter had a rough start to the season, otherwise they’d be up there challenging for the Scudetto. “Joao Mario was moving around on our right and it became three against two. We had prepared to press high on Antonio Candreva, but Alex Sandro was going down there both when he was and wasn’t there. We corrected it in the second half and did better. “We have to tip our hats to Inter, as they play very good football and there were moments in which they could’ve scored.” Paulo Dybala this time embraced Allegri as he was substituted, after refusing to shake his hand last week, but there was still trouble for the Coach. “Lichtsteiner had already come off upset. I can have one grumpy player per weekend, not two! I interpreted his expression badly. I saw Stephan fall and thought he was injured, but he was telling me that he felt fine to continue.” This was yet another victory for the ‘Fab Five’ system with all their attacking stars together. “What counts is the attitude you take on the pitch, not the specific systems. I hear talk of systems, but if I have players with these characteristics, we can play this way, otherwise we can’t. I think reducing it to numbers isn’t very accurate. “By the end of the season we’ll have the real Claudio Marchisio back, as don’t forget he recovered from a very serious knee injury.” http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Juventus earned a 1-0 victory, but Inter were furious at two penalty incidents that were waved away in the first half. Ivan Perisic was sent off for dissent deep into stoppages. At the final whistle, Icardi kicked the ball and it flashed just past referee Nicola Rizzoli’s head. Rizzoli was seen clearly on camera turning and asking: ‘Who kicked that ball?’ If video evidence is used, it could warrant a fine or even a ban for the Nerazzurri striker. It also remains to be seen how long Perisic will be suspended for, as much will depend on what is in the referee’s report. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti
