Nov 23, 2016 Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri praised promising youngster Moise Kean's role in Tuesday's 3-1 Champions League win over Sevilla. The 16-year-old came off the bench with the score at 1-1 in the 84th minute and the striker made an instant impact as Leonardo Bonucci handed Juventus the lead moments later, before Mario Mandzukic put the match to bed well into stoppage time. "Bonucci's goal came after Kean won a physical battle in the box," Allegri told reporters. "Kean will remain with us while we wait for [Paulo] Dybala and [Marko] Pjaca to return from injury. "After an understandable dip – psychological more than anything – he is on the up again and showing what he can do." Whereas Kean made a difference after coming on, Miralem Pjanic endured a difficult game once more and did not last until the final whistle, but Allegri insists he is happy with the former Roma midfielder's form. "It was a tricky game and very physical. Miralem did a lot of running," Allegri added. "He has weighed in with goals and assists this season so I am happy with his contribution." http://www.goal.com/en/tables/uefa-champions-league/10?ICID=MP_TN_167 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Nov 23, 2016 Needing to beat Sevilla in order to regain top spot in their UEFAChampions League group, it was an injury-ravaged Juventussquad that travelled to Spain for Tuesday night’s meeting at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium. Coach Massimiliano Allegri could name only 20 players for the trip, with the club’s official website revealing that Gonzalo Higuain (thigh) and Medhi Benatia (knee) had been added to the lengthy list of absentees. It was therefore no real surprise when the Bianconeri allowed their opponents an early goal, with the home side punishing the visitors with their first real chance of the game. Juve failed to clear a corner properly, and Nico Pareja dispatched a superb volley through a sea of legs and into the bottom corner. The Liga side had yet to concede a goal in the competition this season, with their 2016/17 tally of four clean sheets including one at Juventus Stadium back in September. But with half-time fast approaching, the Bianconeri were awarded a corner, and as Miralem Pjanic whipped the ball into the box, Gabriel Mercado refused to let go of Leonardo Bonucci’s shirt. Mark Clattenburg had already sent off ex-Palermo star Franco Vazquez for two bookable offences, and the English referee was clearly in no mood for foul play, pointing to the penalty spot and incensing both Sevilla’s players and the vociferous crowd. It was the midfielder’s first Champions League goal since a February 2013 meeting with Celtic, but it was also just what the Old Lady needed: a route back into the game that she had otherwise struggled to find. Allegri had few substitutes capable of providing a spark off the bench as his side continued to labour early in the second half, but he eventually opted to send Moise Kean into action once again. Having already become the first 2000s-born player to feature in Serie A in the recent win over Pescara, his introduction here saw the 16-year-old take the same honour in UEFA’s elite competition. Even so, the absences certainly seemed to be taking their toll—long-term injury victims Paulo Dybala, Marko Pjaca and Andrea Barzagliwere joined by Higuain and Benatia in the treatment room, while Giorgio Chiellini was only deemed healthy enough for a place on the bench. But Juventus still have Bonucci. With his side in desperate need of a goal, the 29-year-old repeatedly ventured forward, and when Kean contested a header on the edge of the box, the ball dropped kindly in the direction of the Italy international. As he has done so often in the past, Bonucci rifled a shot towards goal, and his left-footed effort found the target and delivered a telling psychological blow to Sevilla. In one moment, the game was won—the home side crumbled instantly and eventually allowed Juve to run out 3-1 winners. Follow ItalianFootballTV @IFTV_Official GOOOOOOOOL BONUCCI!!!! Sevilla closed up all the spaces, we made mistakes, but fortunately my left foot gave us a hand! It’s normal in the Champions League that every game is difficult and extremely balanced. We knew this game was the crossroads of the season and we achieved our first target. He was referring to the fact that the Bianconeri had confirmed their place in the last-16 of this competition, an accomplishment owed in no small part to the performance of their influential No. 19. He registered one tackle, five clearances and recovered the ball nine times, also stepping forward to connect with 65 of his 79 pass attempts (82.3 per cent). But that crucial goal is what really mattered. It is nothing new for the Viterbo native, who over the past two seasons has weighed in with vital strikes against AC Milan, Fiorentina, Lazio, Inter Milan and AS Roma. He showcased the same ability for his country at UEFA Euro 2016, too, converting a high-pressure penalty in the quarter-finals against Germany, though it wasn’t enough to prevent the Azzurri being eliminated. 16 Nov Khaledalnouss @khaledalnouss1 Dani Alves played the full game in Brazil's 2-0 victory over Peru. pic.twitter.com/lFijut2R1v Follow Khaledalnouss @khaledalnouss1 Leonardo Bonucci. pic.twitter.com/XuaWWITWh1 12:28 PM - 16 Nov 2016 139139 Retweets 157157 likes His forays forward have become more and more noticeable, with the video above showing the wonderful on-ball skill he possesses. Perhaps that is understandable given he began his career as a midfielder, but in recent seasons, he has improved markedly as a defender, and Bonucciis now unquestionably among the best centre-backs in the world. There is little doubt that Juventus would not have won this clash without him, but the contribution of his coach must also be noted. Allegri has come under much criticism this term for a lack of ambition, but that accusation certainly could not be levelled at him during Tuesday night’s performance. The old adage that “necessity is the mother of invention” was clearly true in his starting XI, and those aforementioned absences almost forced the former Milan boss into the 4-3-3 formation he settled upon. Adam Digby via WyScout In this previous post, his negative tendencies were lamented, but with Juve needing a win and Sevilla in the lead, Allegri forced the issue in order to press home their numerical advantage. The graphic above shows that the coach pushed his side even further forward, placing Pjanic and Sami Khedira behind Mario Mandzukic and leaving just Marchisio in central midfield. That shift to a 4-1-4-1 formation lent far greater support to the Croatian striker while still exploiting the wide areas with the pace of Juan Cuadrado and Alex Sandro. It was a bold move, one that shows just what this side is capable of, and hopefully Allegri fits his returning players into a more impactful style rather than simply reverting to type. GIUSEPPE CACACE/Getty Images Allegri is looking forward to Juve’s next target. While happy with the result in Spain, he was already looking ahead to new challenges immediately after the final whistle, as the coach explained just what he and his team hope to accomplish before the winter break, per Mediaset Premium (h/t Football Italia): We conceded a goal on the only real chance, a corner after 10 minutes. In the second half Sevilla took away lots of spaces and there were many tactical fouls. It’s not easy to win here, as Sevilla have some excellent players and a great coach. This now puts us in a position to lock down the top spot in the final game. We achieved one target. Now there are two more, to be top of the Serie A table before Christmas and win the Super Cup in Doha. That begins with Sunday’s trip to Genoa, where Allegri will hope to recover at least some of his injured squad. Higuain should almost certainly be ready, but if the Argentina international isn’t fit, then Bonucci has shown he is more than capable of grabbing an important goal when the Old Lady needs him to. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/uefa-champions-league/10?ICID=MP_TN_167 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

He has returned to his deep-lying spot in the center of Juve’s midfield and has played relatively well as he slowly works his way up to being a regular contributor once again. After a night off over the weekend, Marchisio returned to Juventus’ starting lineup on Tuesday night and played a key role in the Bianconeri’s 3-1 win over Sevilla. Marchisio’s first-half penalty kick was his first goal since returning to the field late last month — a strike that he spoke about after the game. “All I could think about was keeping it as low as possible, because the pitch wasn’t the best and there were lots of bobbles so I was afraid of placing it too high,” said Marchisio after the match, which saw Juve qualify for the Champions League Round of 16. “I was lucky when I struck it because it went under the goalkeeper’s arm and in. It was quite liberating – seeing the ball hit the back of the net and being able to celebrate was amazing after such a long injury.” I think it’s fair to say that Marchisio running toward the traveling fans in the corner of the stands and pounding the Juventus badge with every step he took was pretty good to see for every Juve supporter out there. It’s a Turin boy helping the Turin club work their way back from a 1-0 deficit and claim a massively-important win in the Champions League group stage. Speaking of how the team is feeling after their latest win on the European stage... “We’re absolutely delighted. We’ve achieved an important objective and we knew it wasn’t going to be easy here – their fans were amazing and kept cheering Sevilla on even when they were 3-1 down. Our performance was not bad considering how good the opposition are and it’s no wonder they’d not conceded in this competition before tonight. We managed to score three so we can’t help but be pleased.” Marchisio has made three starts and appeared in four games total since coming back from six months on the sidelines due to his knee injury. Juventus manager Max Allegri has understandably taken it slow with Marchisio’s workload since he came back from injury — and for obvious good reason. “On a personal level, it’s tough for me to play every three days. It’s still a bit of a challenge because there are times when my muscles aren’t quite there yet and that affects me. I know I need to keep working hard – it was a long lay-off but I’m happy with how things are going.” Above all else, Marchisio’s goal, along with late-second-half strikes from Leonardo Bonucci and Mario Mandzukic, Juventus were able to get an unexpected win over Sevilla and book their ticket to the knockout rounds while also taking over sole possession of first place in Group H. With one more group stage game to go against a struggling Dinamo Zagreb side, Juventus now follow has destiny in their hands. “There’s no point in thinking about the future – we need to focus on the present. We were 1-0 down tonight and it could have gone south, but we turned it around and sealed qualification. “We still have another match in the Champions League and then we need to focus on Serie A. Even though the other teams are making a few slip-ups, that doesn’t mean we can afford not to be on our game.” Talk about a guy who has a sense of what’s going on. He’s not just about posting selfies on Instagram with funny hashtags, folks. Marchisio knows a thing or two about a thing or two. And we’re quite happy he’s healthy again. Along with fellow Tuesday absentee Medhi Benatia, Higuain is a doubt to be available for Juventus’ trip to face Genoa at the Luigi Ferraris on Sunday afternoon after he reportedly didn’t practice with the rest of the team during a rainy training session at Vinovo Thursday afternoon. Higuain, who missed Juve’s 3-1 win over Sevilla on Tuesday night, is still trying to recover from a knock he picked up late in the Serie A champions’ victory over Pescara last weekend. So, in case you thought that Higuain could return and give your Serie A fantasy a boost this weekend, you probably should go in a different direction just to be safe. Higuain’s potential absence has caused most of the Italian media outlets to think that Juventus manager Max Allegri will go with the same 4-3-3 formation he utilized in Tuesday’s win over Seviilla, with Mario Mandzukic being flanked by Juan Cuadrado and Alex Sandro on either wing. Seeing as the injuries to Higuain, Marko Pjaca and Paulo Dybala — who’s reportedly close to being available for selection again — will keep Juventus will most likely keep Juventus with only one senior team striker for the time being, this is probably the best option Allegri has to him. That is unless Mad Max suddenly lets Moise Kean loose and inserts the 16-year-old starlet into the starting lineup, but that doesn’t seem all too likely at that point. That’s especially true when you look at the schedule and notice that Juventus have had four days of rest between the Sevilla and Genoa fixtures and a weeks worth of rest until their game against Atalanta during the first weekend of December. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

After a weak showing by some of the top teams last week, Juventus sits on top of the table by seven points over Roma. Genoa currently sit tied for 12th, with 16 points total on the year. Their season so far has been highlighted by a 3-0 win over Milan, and a 0-0 draw against Napoli. The Sevilla game was injury-free, which is always great to have when you play all your top players. There is potential for Paulo Dybala to return for this game, but would surely be doing so from a bench role, if anything. He will be added to the survey if he’s in the match day squad, as well as Mehdi Benatia, Marko Pjaca and Gonazalo Higuain, whose statuses are also unclear. Andrea Barzagli will also likely be unavailable, but Stephan Lichtsteiner returns to playing eligibility for the league games. Worth mentioning is that the trip to Genoa will be against Stefano Sturaro’s former team, so that may be a reason for you to choose him in the starting lineup. After this game, Juve’s next fixture will be next Saturday against Atalanta, who have been on fire as of late. All things considered, who would you like to see start on Sunday? Vote below! The results will be posted, as well as a few different takes on the lineup, including my own. Remember, this is not what you expect the lineup to be, this is what you would do or what you would like to see. This is your reminder to set your Fantasy Serie A lineups. And also, I changed the available formations up a little bit. I feel like for our personnel, a 4-3-3 is more similar to a 4-5-1 than a 4-3-2-1, so they have been combined. This has become one of Serie A’s tougher fixtures, as Napoli and Milan have both failed to win at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris this season. As it has been Juve’s consistency which has set them apart from Roma and Napoli over the past five remarkable years for the club, the empire seemed to be crumbling after losses to Inter and Milan. However, the Rossoneri’s form remains that of a rebuilding side, and as Roma’s Edin Dzeko continues to have one of the worst shot conversion rates in Europe, the Bianconeri banner was never truly challenged at the top of the table. Gonzalo Higuain, Andrea Barzagli, Paulo Dybala, Mehdi Benatia and Marko Pjaca are all still out, so Juventus could line up in the same 4-3-3 system used in the midweek victory over Sevilla, but Giorgio Chiellini’s late cameo at the Sanchez Pizjuan shows a comeback is imminent, so Daniele Rugani could slot in between Chiellini and Bonucci in a reversion to a more familiar 3-5-2. With only one win in their last six, the pressure is on Coach Ivan Juric, who is yet to face Juventus in his managerial career. Currently sitting in 12th place with a game in hand against Fiorentina, the run-up to Christmas will prove to be crucial in defining what will be the Grifone’s target this season. As former Coach Gian Piero Gasperini is taking Serie A by storm with Atalanta this season, things look a little bleaker for his former assistant, but a victory against Italy’s dominant force would offer some redemption. Star striker Leonardo Pavoletti remains on the treatment table, so all eyes will be Giovanni Simeone, the son of Diego, which gives him the perfect opportunity to announce himself in Italy. With the Rossoblu expected to continue with their 3-4-1-2 after mixed results this season, we will probably see a more defensive approach from Juric on Sunday. With a Juve 4-3-3 expected there will have been little time to change the battle plan from that of nullifying a 3-5-2, but with the Bianconeri’s only orthodox winger currently out injured, the back three of Armando Izzo, Nicolas Burdisso and Santiago Gentiletti will be focused on stopping Mario Mandzukic’s service, meaning it’s time for Miralem Pjanic to step up. Both Massimiliano Allegri and Juventus have hugely positive records over Genoa, with the Coach winning nine of his 15 games against the Rossoblu and Juve with 59 victories from 98 meetings. Keep an eye on: Hernanes (Juventus) - Although the Brazilian’s performances have been varying since leaving Lazio, the former Inter man turned down a mega money move to China over the summer, showing he’s still determined to be a success at Juve. With Sunday’s opponents said to be his main admirers, a good performance will at least inspire a January bid from the Grifone. The reigning champions visit Genoa with the potential to pull 10 points clear of Roma at the top of the table, should the Giallorossi lose at home to Pescara after Juve have put the Grifone away. Heading towards the winter break with such a healthy advantage would be the stuff of dreams for most top-flight managers but Bianconeri head coach Allegri is not remotely satisfied. He said at a pre-match press conference: ``Being seven points clear sounds like a lot, but it's not. ``We have to stay totally focused. It would be irresponsible to fail to understand how fragile our lead is. ``We must keep our feet on the ground, when we're not stepping on the gas, of course.'' Argentinian hotshot Gonzalo Higuain - on nine goals in all competitions - could be restored to the starting XI after sitting out Juve's 3-1 Champions League victory at Sevilla. ``If Higuain comes back in he'll play alongside Mario Mandzukic,'' added Allegri. ``I've got a lot of faith in Mario, he's in great shape at the moment, physically and mentally. ``Next week I could even have Paulo Dybala back in contention.'' Giorgio Chiellini is not ready to return at the back so Daniele Rugani and Medhi Benatia will compete to replace him, while midfielder Mario Lemina sits out the Marassi trip due to illness. In the Genoa squad Lucas Orban is serving a three-match ban, with Miguel Veloso suspended for this match. Striker Leonardo Pavoletti - a reported January transfer target for Napoli - has a knee injury. When asked about the rumours linking him to the Stadio San Paolo, the 28-year-old told La Gazzetta dello Sport: ``Genoa is my home and I've made my decision as to what I'm doing this season. ``You'd have to beat me around the head to get me to change my mind.'' Ivan Juric's men started the current campaign brightly but a run of three defeats from five has left them marooned in mid-table and nine points off the nearest Europa League place. This fixture has delivered two Genoa wins from its last eight iterations, with Raffaele Palladino scoring a memorable late winner against the Old Lady in a 3-2 home win back in April 2009. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Nov 26, 2016 Massimiliano Allegri believes Juventus are approaching a crucial point in the season as they turn their attentions back to Serie A this weekend. The Italian champions were in Champions League action in midweek, beating Sevilla 3-1 to progress to the knock-out stages. Now, though, with only one European game remaining in 2016, Serie A leaders Juve can concentrate on league action before they close the year in the SuperCoppa Italiana final against AC Milan. "Seven points seems like a huge gap to second place [and Roma], but it isn't," Allegri told a pre-match news conference ahead of Sunday's trip to Genoa. "It's imperative that we keep our focus. "The [Champions League] game against Dinamo Zagreb aside, the next month or so is all about Serie A where we have some big games coming up. "We're approaching a crucial juncture of the season. Now is the time to put our foot down on the accelerator." Mario Lemina will be missing on Sunday for the clash with Genoa, who are 12th in the table, but Claudio Marchisio and Gonzalo Higuain could both start. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Juventus have won five of the last six Serie A games against the Rossoblu, losing the other match. Genoa have scored only once over these six games, however that goal was enough to defeat Juventus in October 2014 (1-0). Juventus haven’t drawn any of their last 11 Serie A games on the road (8W, 3L) - their last draw dates back to February (0-0 at Bologna). Genoa are unbeaten at home in Serie A this season (2W, 4D), while they have also kept a clean sheet in three of them. Juventus have a seven-point advantage over second place in the Serie A table for the first time after 13 match-days – the only side to have had a larger gap after as many games in the three points era was Roma in 2000/01 (eight points ahead of Juventus). Each of Juventus’ goals away from home this season have come after half time – the Bianconeri are one of three sides (along with Chievo and Pescara) yet to score in the first half. Genoa conceded three set-piece goals in their last game against Lazio, after shipping only one from a dead ball (a penalty) in the previous 12 this season. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Manager Massimiliano Allegri spoke to the media earlier today ahead of the game. “It’ll be a battle tomorrow, as Genoa are very aggressive and we need to fight them on their own terms. It will be a complicated game, it wont end until the 95th minute. On their home turf, the Rossoblù always put up a fierce struggle and we’ll have to put ourselves on their same level. “In my first year at Juventus, we lost against Genoa, so this is an important fixture. We must remain concentrated. There’s only one Champions League game from now until March, so we have to focus on Serie A. “It would be insane to think we could just sit on a seven-point lead at the top of the table. It’s not that much. We’ve got to keep our feet firmly on the ground and step on the gas. It’d be irresponsible not to understand the situation. “The next 20 days are going to be very important, as a good chunk of the campaign will be decided now. We’ve got some players back and Paulo Dybala will be available next week too. The upcoming four games will give us a great chance to win the league.” Allegri demanded maximum concentration on the imminent league fixtures before the team can prepare for the Supercoppa against Milan: “We will be up against tough opponents: Genoa, Atalanta (now on five consecutive victories), Torino in the derby and Roma. We must concentrate only on the league for the next 20 days: After playing Roma we will think about the Supercoppa in Doha.” When asked if striker Gonzalo Higuain was fit again, or if 16-year-old starlet Moise Kean would make an appearance - “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. He’d have a good game, because he has really improved lately. He is a player in the squad, like all the others. “Higuain is available, then we’ll see whether to put him in from the start or as a substitute. Nov 27, 2016 Ivan Juric feels Genoa will miss their absent star players more than Juventus this afternoon. “They adapt to any situation.” It kicks off at 15.00 CET - 14.00 GMT at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. While the Bianconeri are without Paulo Dybala, Mario Lemina and Andrea Barzagli, the hosts are missing Leonardo Pavoletti, Miguel Veloso and Lucas Orban. “It’s a shame about Pavoletti, because we’ve never really had him this season apart from the first three games,” said the Coach in his Press conference. “Veloso had been playing very well. Giovanni Simeone is working well and he’s a tough cookie, so I’m sure he’ll have a great performance. “Juventus play with the kind of mentality that in Italy only Juve have. Even in moments of difficulty, they don’t get shaken. They have very clear ideas and objectives. “The really surprising thing about them is that they can miss a player or change system and it looks as if they’ve been playing that way forever. They adapt to any situation. “Against Juventus you need to play at the best of your abilities. They have so many different ways of finding the goal and we must face them with courage. If you go into it looking for a draw, you’re in trouble.” Hernanes has been repeatedly linked with a January transfer to Genoa. “At this moment I am concentrated on these games. Not only have Juve qualified for the next round of the Champions League, but it appears the Italians could top their qualifying group after all. The problem is, they could still meet Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Arsenal or Real Madrid as a result of finishing first. If there was ever a time when topping the group did not matter, it was this year. The fact that Juventus currently top their Champions League qualifying group and boast a seven-point gap at the top of the Serie A table is quite a feat considering the quality of the team's play and the many injuries suffered thus far this season. Claudio Marchisio has only just returned to action and has yet to play with continuity and at his optimum level, while Massimiliano Allegri has struggled to solve the tactical conundrum that is Miralem Pjanic. The playmaker is of no use to the current squad, his talents severely squandered. He is incapable of conjuring up a move on his own, while the absences of both Paulo Dybala and Marko Pjaca have stripped Juventus' offensive line of the constant movement the Bosnian needs to flourish. Pjanic will never be a man to join the attack and strike. He is a visionary who can only delight when those ahead of him make the right runs and tactically position themselves to benefit from his genius. Deployed in a static team that lacks fluidity and constant movement, Pjanic has been disappointing, impressing only sporadically. The lack of stability has hardly helped. With so many injuries the coach has struggled to field a consistent first XI, forcing the Bosnian to adapt to different positions, schemes and personnel almost every week. At this moment of time, Juventus need a different player. One who can run from deep, evade the press and participate in the offensive movements. Juan Cuadrado fits the bill but while he can introduce trickery, pace and ingenuity, it seems he's yet to improve upon his decision making and reading of the game. The Colombian boasts a wide range of skills and cannot be described as anything but talented but unless he learns how to harness that brilliance into something practical, he will always prove to be a frustrating figure. There is a reason why Allegri never considered him indispensable and why Chelsea agreed to loan him out. Considering the many absences and the quest for tactical balance, Cuadrado currently finds himself playing a major role for the Bianconeri and he must use that to his advantage. While he can never be faulted for his commitment to the job, the 28-year-old must try to simplify his game, perfecting the basics before indulging in the complicated. Far too often, against Sevilla, the winger held onto the ball for too long or attempted to overcome a plethora of defenders when he ought to have simply looked up and sought a better positioned teammate. His sole purpose is to facilitate Juve's attacking game when in possession but the Colombian often tries to do it all by himself, to be the hero of the moment rather than simply contributing to the overall movement to help the collective. Against Genoa, Cuadrado could well start, as will Mario Mandzukic and the Croatian striker will hope that on this occasion, the winger will deliver fine crosses into the box rather than attempt impossible strikes. Ivan Juric's side may not be at their beautiful best but they are a difficult opponent to beat. Energetic, dynamic and vertical, Juric admits his style of play has been inspired by his love of heavy metal. This perhaps explains why Genoa love nothing more than to aggressively seek the win, earning six red cards in the process. No side has proved as ferocious. Capable of pressing high up the pitch, the team look to quickly steal possession to facilitate their route to goal. Determined and fond of the odd foul, Genoa are the type of team Juve hate to face. Only intelligence and precise rotation of the ball can overcome such a team and the Bianconeri have struggled on both counts this season. Surrendering possession rather cheaply, it is time Juve learnt how to retain the ball and dictate the tempo of the game. This composed and mature style of play was difficult to achieve even when the Old Lady boasted one of Europe's finest midfields. Without such capable men in the middle, the task has proved even harder for Allegri's newcomers, especially in light of Marchisio's injury. However, the coach has always found solutions and with time, he is bound to do so again. In the meantime, he will rely on the squad's ability to grind out wins. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Higuain is back in the squad after missing the Champions League visit to Sevilla with a muscular problem. Max Allegri confirmed he would wait until after this morning’s training session before deciding on Pipita’s situation. According to the latest reports, Higuain will be initially on the bench at Marassi. That means Mario Mandzukic again starts with Juan Cuadrado in a 3-5-2 formation, though it can mutate with Alex Sandro pushing up on the left flank. Nov 27, 2016 Mario Mandzukic and Juan Cuadrado get the nod, as Gonzalo Higuain is not 100 per cent fit when Juventus visit Genoa. The Bianconeri need a victory at Marassi to maintain their seven-point lead at the top of the table, as Milan already won 4-1 at Empoli last night. Higuain missed the midweek 3-1 Champions League victory at Sevilla due to a muscular problem and he is not risked from the start today. Instead, Mandzukic and Cuadrado are the strike partners in what appears to be a 3-5-2 system, though Alex Sandro could push up to create a trident. Mario Lemina has flu, joining Andrea Barzagli, Paulo Dybala and Marko Pjaca on the sidelines. Medhi Benatia returns to the line-up, as does Stephan Lichtsteiner, who is ineligible for the Champions League. Genoa have their own problems to deal with, as hitman Leonardo Pavoletti is once again out injured after spraining his knee. Lucas Orban begins a three-match ban and Miguel Veloso is also suspended, so Giovanni ‘son of Diego’ Simeone takes the attacking role with Lucas Ocampos. Isaac Cofie is picked rather than Olivier Ntcham. Marassi is no easy task, as this season Milan were beaten here 3-0 and Napoli held to a stalemate. Juve have won five of their last six meetings with Genoa, home and away, save for a 1-0 loss here in October 2014. The Bianconeri knew Milan had won last night, so needed a victory to maintain the seven-point gap. Gonzalo Higuain was not risked from the start after a muscular problem, while Andrea Barzagli, Paulo Dybala and Marko Pjaca were injured. The hosts missed top scorer Leonardo Pavoletti, plus suspended duo Miguel Veloso and Lucas Orban. Juve had won five of their last six meetings with Genoa, home and away, save for a 1-0 loss here in October 2014. Max Allegri set out an unusual 3-5-2 formation with Stephan Lichtsteiner in the back three and Juan Cuadrado on the left of a front two. It was a remarkable start, as Leonardo Bonucci was caught in possession to spark a counter, Gigi Buffon managed three reaction saves, including one with the aid of Alex Sandro, but could do nothing on the fourth from Giovanni Simeone. Buffon desperately scrambled to get a loose ball under control, despite the efforts of his teammates, and moments later Genoa added a second goal. Darko Lazovic skipped past Alex Sandro on the left and his cross was met by a Simeone diving header from six yards. Cholito hadn’t found the net in six games, but had a brace in the opening 13 minutes. Every time Genoa went on the counter, they were dangerous and ran into huge spaces. Rigoni turned a Diego Laxalt cross over from close range. The third goal was absolutely chaotic. A corner was knocked down for Rigoni’s volley and Alex Sandro’s attempt at a goal-line clearance only fired it into the roof of the net. Simeone followed up on the rebound, but by that stage it had already gone over. It was the first time since April 2004 against Lecce that Juventus had conceded three goals in a Serie A first half. The Bianconeri’s day got even worse when Bonucci pulled up clutching his hamstring and immediately requested a substitution. Mario Mandzukic had penalty appeals for a very clumsy Lucas Ocampos challenge from behind, but the referee waved play on. Juve moved to four at the back, but it was too late to change a disastrous first half performance. The Argentine had failed to score in his last six league outings, but rediscovered his touch as Juve suffered a nightmare opening half an hour during which they conceded three times and left themselves too much to do. Simeone opened the scoring after just three minutes with a finish from close range, doubling his tally shortly after with a glancing header. An own goal from Alex Sandro then all but put the match to bed as Genoa claimed their second big scalp of the campaign, having trounced AC Milan 3-0 at home last month. Miralem Pjanic netted a fine consolation free-kick with eight minutes remaining, but the reigning champions were ultimately undone by their dreadful start as they fell to their third league defeat of 2016-17. This weekend's results see Milan close to within four points of Juve at the summit, with Roma able to pull level with the Rossoneri if they beat Pescara later on Sunday. Genoa made a flying start and went 1-0 up after some shocking defending from Leonardo Bonucci sent Luca Rigoni clean through on goal. Gianluigi Buffon did well to deny the winger but the rebound eventually fell to Simeone, who beat the goalkeeper at the second attempt. Things then went from bad to worse for Juve as Simeone doubled his side's lead with a close-range header from Darko Lazovic's pinpoint cross. It was all Genoa before the interval and Juve fell 3-0 down before the half-hour mark. Nicolas Burdisso headed the ball into Rigoni's path and the winger steered an attempt against the underside of the bar, before the ball crossed the goalline via the Brazilian's thigh. There was more bad news for the visitors shortly afterwards when Bonucci was forced off with what seemed like a hamstring injury, Daniele Rugani taking his place in defence. Juve could have pulled one back early in the second half when Pjanic aimed just wide after being set up by Mario Mandzukic, with Sami Khedira also spurning a gilt-edged chance. Massimiliano Allegri opted to bring on Gonzalo Higuain for Stephan Lichtsteiner as Juve went looking for a way back in, but their attacking substitution nearly cost them when Simeone popped up in front of Buffon, the goalkeeper only just managing to deflect his shot wide. To make matters worse for Juve, Dani Alves was forced off injured after they had already made three changes, with Pjanic's magnificent free-kick the only bright spot of an otherwise miserable outing. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Perin Was given far less to deal with than he would have been expecting, and he pulled off several good saves before being unbeaten by an unstoppable free-kick from Pjanic. 8N. Burdisso Never put a foot wrong in the middle of an impressive Genoa back line. Stayed strong throughout and dealt with everything that was thrown at him. 5A. Izzo Put in an excellent performance from start to finish. Always seemed to be in the right place at the right time and remained resolute throughout. 24E. Muñoz Operated really well over on the left-hand side of the Genoa defence, and he was unlucky not to pick up a clean sheet after doing well for so long. 30L. Rigoni Was a constant handful for the Juventus defenders and was unlucky not to pick up a goal of his own after his effort was turned into the back of the net by Sandro. 93D. Laxalt Put in a great shift up and down the left flank. Caused all sorts of problems with his pace and trickery and defended superbly in the second half. 88T. Rincón Dominated proceedings in the middle of the pitch. Constantly frustrated Juventus with high pressing and didn’t allow them any time on the ball. 22D. Lazović Consistently impressed over on the right wing, where he always looked dangerous going forward and set up Simeone’s second goal with a beautiful swinging cross. 4I. Cofie Did a wonderful job in protecting his back three with a strong defensive performance. Looked particularly impressive after the break, with the only blemish being the free-kick that he gave away and which resulted in Pjanic's goal. 11L. Ocampos Played an important role in Genoa’s first goal and impressed from then onwards. Always looked dangerous on the break and defended well when required. 9G. Simeone It was a dream game for the young striker, who gave his side a 2-0 lead with an excellent early brace and put in a wonderful shift from then onwards. Juventus 1G. Buffon It was a miserable first half for the veteran goalkeeper, who was constantly let down by his defenders and was beaten by three well-finished goals, despite his best efforts. 4M. Benatia Never looked at all comfortable. Constantly found himself out of position and didn’t do anywhere near enough to stop both of Simeone’s goals. 23Dani Alves Featured as part of a back three that were all over the place. Too often was dragged out of position, allowing Genoa’s front line to run riot throughout. 12Alex Sandro Was ineffective over on the left wing. Struggled to find teammates with his overhit crosses and, at the back, was given the runaround by Lazovic whenever the Serbian broke forward. 26S. Lichtsteiner Sometimes got forward well over on the right flank, but defensively he was suspect and left far too much space available for Laxalt and Ocampos to take advantage of. 19L. Bonucci It was a miserable opening 33 minutes for the defender, whose mistake resulted in Genoa’s first goal before he was forced off with a suspected hamstring injury. 6S. Khedira Made little impact in advanced areas and too often left space available behind him, which made life easy for Genoa when they countered quickly. 5M. Pjanić Tried his hardest to make things happen for the league leaders, and he was eventually rewarded for his efforts with goals thanks to a beautiful curling free-kick late on. 11Hernanes Performed awfully in the middle of the pitch, where he was easily overrun by Rincon and Cofie and struggled whenever he had the ball at his feet. 17M. Mandžukić It was a tough afternoon for the striker, who found it incredibly difficult to cause problems for the Genoa back three and, as a result, never went close to scoring. 7J. Cuadrado Made a couple of good runs when cutting in from the left flank, but, overall, it was an underwhelming performance from the Colombian. Substitutes 14D. Biraschi Featured late on but defended well over on the left wing to help Genoa hold on. 2Edenilson Came on for Lazovic in a defensive move by the home side and put in a strong shift for the remaining 25 minutes. 13S. Gakpé Only featured for the final few minutes of the game but did the job required of him. Substitutes 24D. Rugani Came on for the injured Bonucci and did better than the number 19, but he still had a few nervy moments, despite the home side largely being on the back foot. 27S. Sturaro Featured for the final 20 minutes in place of Khedira, but he was unable to make much more of an impact than the German and was sometimes guilty of being wasteful in possession. 9G. Higuaín Initially made an impact after replacing Lichtsteiner at the start of the second half, but he was unable to find enough joy against Genoa’s hard-working defenders. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Unfortunately, Juventus’ dumpster fire-like showing at the Marassi was all too real. You wanted an improvement over how this team is playing over the last few weeks and months? That’s going to have to wait another day. Juventus not only lost to Genoa at the Luigi Ferraris, but they did so in emphatic and humiliating fashion, going down 3-0 within the first half-hour and looking absolutely terrible in the process. The attack was non-existent, the midfield was a bucket full of turnovers and the defense provided as much organization as an Under-10 team that just started practicing together yesterday as Giovanni Simeone and Co. ran circles around them. It was awful. Simply, simply awful. Can you believe some dopes actually woke up before six in the morning to watch that game, too? /looks at self/ Oh, that’s right. Where to begin? Well, I don’t really know. For weeks we’ve been saying how Juventus aren’t living up to their potential and getting results despite it. First in Serie A, first in the Champions League group, so that’s all good and great. But when you look at the overall quality of how this team is playing, it’s nowhere near what it could be. Sure, there have been injuries all over the place, but this team still has talent, but just hasn’t been living up to it. It all came to fruition against Genoa, with Juventus playing about as bad as they could while Genoa steamrolled them en route to a 3-0 lead within the first 30 minutes. Simeone scored not once but twice, then Alex Sandro’s own goal capped off what was pretty much the icing on the cake of the Serie A leaders looking more like relegation battlers. Performance-wise, maybe this has been coming for a while. Performance-wise, Juventus certainly got what it deserved on Sunday afternoon at the Marassi. Follow Antonio Corsa @AntonioCorsa Black sunday. 4:38 PM - 27 Nov 2016 2929 Retweets 3030 likes Sounds about right. Too bad there were no discounts on merchandise to come along with it. Or maybe that’s a good thing so that we don’t waste our money on things we are going to leave in the back of our closets for the next two or three months. Last season the embarrassment in the rain against Sassuolo proved to be the reality check and rock bottom moment where things were suddenly changed in the resulting weeks and months. You just hope that this result, one of Juventus’ worst showings in years, truly becomes a moment like the Sassuolo loss was last season. Something needs to change — and it’s needed awfully quick, too. RANDOM THOUGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS You wanna know which players played well in the second half? There was just one — Gigi Buffon. He nearly made four saves in the span of 10 seconds before Simeone opened the scoring. In case you were thinking that the first-half performance wasn’t bad enough, there’s the fact that Leonardo Bonucci had to be subbed off with a hamstring injury. So, if you were hoping that Juve made it through one game without somebody getting hurt, then you’re probably going to need to play some FIFA17 later today or something. Juventus had one shot on target in the first half. One. That’s it. Can people stop talking about Dani Alves like he’s the same player he was at Barcelona and that Juve are so lucky to have him? That Dani Alves hasn’t been around Turin much this season. You have a player in Daniele Rugani who plays really well against Sevilla earlier in the week and you choose to start him on the bench with Alves instead being preferred as a center back? I don’t get Max Allegri’s thought process sometimes. Juventus finally showed up down 3-0 with about seven or eight minutes to go. That sums things up pretty well, doesn’t it? Miralem Pjanic scored a pretty nice free kick and absolutely nobody is going to remember that he actually did because of how Juventus played. I really don’t know what else to say because that was truly awful. Okay, one last thing: There is nearly a week before Juventus faces Atalanta. For the love of all that is holy, laying an egg against a team that is actually sitting toward the top of the table is going to be just another sign that this team needs seriously fixing. http://www.goal.com/en/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=TP_TN_110 Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Luca Rigoni turned a Diego Laxalt cross over from close range. Juve seemed livelier after the break, Miralem Pjanic drilling wide and Sami Khedira’s volley off target from six yards on a knocked-down corner. Allegri unleashed Higuain for Lichtsteiner, but it should’ve been 4-0 when Simeone forced Buffon into a desperate save at the near post after Medhi Benatia’s error. Dani Alves was stretchered off on 75 minutes when the substitutions had been completed, leaving Juventus down to 10 men. It could well have been nine, because Juan Cuadrado was only booked for a terrible studs-up sliding tackle on Diego Laxalt. Juventus did pull one back with eight minutes to go thanks to a trademark Pjanic free kick into the near top corner.
