VIDEO: Don't worry, be happy -

Instagram star Evra's latest hit

The veteran Juventus and France defender has been entertaining his legion

of social media followers with a rendition of another family favourite.

Juventus defender Patrice Evra is fast becoming a social media sensation this season.

The veteran Frenchman delighted - and confused - his followers last month by dressing up as a panda and dancing to Desiigner before delivering an anti-racism message.

He has also won admirers with renditions of Marvin Gaye hits in the car and in hotel rooms, recently enlisting the assistance of Manchester United star Paul Pogba to celebrate a World Cup qualifying win with France.

Now the 35-year-old, who played as Serie A champions Juve defeated Pescara 3-0 at home on Saturday, has turned to Bobby McFerrin's 1988 favourite 'Don't Worry Be Happy' to grab the spotlight yet again.

Maybe Evra is planning for a life after football, or maybe he just likes belting out a good tune!

'A real captain' - Evra pays tribute to former rival Steven Gerrard

The Juventus star was one of many former foes to salute the Liverpool legend

after he revealed his retirement, as he praised his leadership skills at Anfield.

Steven Gerrard has enjoyed a host of tributes since announcing his decision to hang up his boots, and some have come from rather unlikely places.

The LA Galaxy man retired from professional football on Thursday after a glittering career, predominantly at Liverpool, where he became an Anfield idol.

And one of the most touching homages came from a former rival, as ex-Manchester United man Patrice Evra had warm praise for his old adversary.

"The most consistent English player, and a real captain!" the Juventus full-back wrote on his Instagram page, alongside of a photo of the two stars tussling in a United-Liverpool clash.

But Evra was far from the only former foe to pay his respects - the likes of John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla all showered the Reds legend with praise.

Juventus' Patrice Evra sings, dances

and irons to Barry White

juventus-patrice-evra-sings-dances-and-irons-to-barry-white

Dec 5, 2016

As part of his unerring quest to make Mondays bearable for everybody, Patrice Evra has once again treated his legions of Instagram followers to a special song and dance to help kick off the week in a positive frame of mind.

Having already had a bash at Marvin Gaye, this time the veteran Juventus full-back plumped for a bit of Barry White to help spread his message of love, unity and happiness.

Oh, and he also killed two birds with one stone by getting his ironing done in the meantime.

As the man himself has stated repeatedly, Evra's sole aim is to completely redress the negative PR that Monday tends to receive from all and sundry.

You know what? We think it might just be starting to work.

Patrice Evra: ‘Sixth title the most important thing’

http://www.juvefc.com/patrice-evra-sixth-title-important-thing/

Dec 6, 2016

Patrice Evra believes a sixth consecutive title is the most important objective for the Bianconeri this season.

The veteran defender spoke to Juventus TV and gave his thoughts on the season to date, as well as the upcoming Champions League game against Dinamo Zagreb.

“After our defeat the other week away to Genoa, we talked between us as we always do when there’s something not right,” Evra told JTV.

“We’re aware of the fact that wearing this shirt comes with great responsibility. That loss at the Marassi was a bit of a one off and I don’t think we’ll have to face another day like that, especially in terms of our team spirit, which is what angered us most.

“At Juventus it’s possible you can lose a game, but you can’t get your attitude wrong. As we all saw against Atalanta, we’ve returned to being a great family again.

“Winning a sixth successive Scudetto would be the most important thing, as we’d go down in history. You don’t lift the league title today, nor tomorrow.

“I’ve always said from the start of the season that it’s my aim to get to the end of the campaign and be able to celebrate with all the fans at the Stadium and on the streets of Turin.

“Right now we’re taking each game at a time, we can’t already start thinking as though we’re already champions.

“Last year, when we were slow off the mark in Serie A and many thought that we’d find it tough even to qualify for the Champions League, in the end we lifted the title.

“We need to be careful that the same thing doesn’t happen to another team this time around.

You can get the odds of Juve’s title hopes by checking bestbettingwebsites.org.uk.

“We work hard and dig deep every day, showing respect for this club’s great history. When a player joins Juventus, they feel it immediately.

“Here I need to give my best, my teammates may have won the league last year, but they’re working hard as if they’d not achieved anything. They’re still hungry for more.

“All Champions League matches are to be played showing the highest respect, it really is a very important competition.

“Even if we’ve already qualified for the next round, it’s crucial that we have the right approach. We need to play on Wednesday against Dinamo Zagreb like we did against Atalanta in order to win again in front of our fans.

“I’ve always said that in the Champions League, if you put a foot wrong, you’re running the risk of conceding. The details count for an awful lot, as matches are often open.

“You can win a game in the last second and, at the end of the day, that’s what makes this competition the magical one that it is.”

Evra has become popular on Instagram as a result of  “I love this game” catchphrase.

“I always love this game! It isn’t just an expression. I use it as a symbol of positivity in life,” Evra explained.

“‘I love this game’ is something you can say when you’re sad, when you lose. You always need to stay positive, especially because in life there are more important things than losing a match.

“I feel like a winner. I don’t like losing but ‘I love this game’ is a motto that works in any situation.”

Juventus have spent the past few weeks tasking their players with various activities as part of their ongoing "J Challenge" social media series.

The latest instalment is a corker, with good old Patrice Evra asked to perform impressions of his Bianconeri teammates in order to win a calendar.

Always game for a laugh, Evra tackled the challenge with gusto, performing what we can only assume are spot-on impersonations of Juan Cuadrado and Mario Mandzukic.

.@Evra doing impressions of @Cuadrado and @MarioMandzukic9?

It's another #JChallenge and we love THIS game.

When it comes to Uncle Pat, you just know there's going to be dancing involved at some point.

Bless him, he really does love this game!

Patrice Evra's hilarious Instagram

Once again in his ongoing quest to make Mondays bearable for everybody, Patrice Evra has taken to Instagram to help radiate some positive vibes out unto the world.

Evra begins the video with some trademark crooning in his car before teasing us all with the briefest cameo of one of his previous characters, the anti-racism panda.

As Uncle Pat has previously declared, if this world is ever going to be truly peaceful then everybody in it needs to start being more like a panda.

Who knows, maybe he's on to something?

Juventus defender Patrice Evra wants to play more games - agent

http://www.espnfc.co.uk/story/3028001/juventus-

defender-patrice-evra-wants-to-play-more-games-agent

Dec 29, 2016

The agent of Juventus defender Patrice Evra has indicated that he could leave the club six months before his contract is due to expire because he is not playing as much as he would like.

Evra, 35, has started only three times in Serie A this season but has been a regular in the Champions League.

His contract expires in the summer but includes the option for an additional year.

But agent Federico Pastorello told juvenews.eu: "I do have to admit that, like all footballers, he would like to be playing more often.

"I've been receiving a lot of calls, and I don't know where the rumours are coming from -- but Patrice is not at all unhappy at Juventus."

Former Manchester United full-back Evra has been linked with a return to the Premier League, but Pastorello said: "I honestly don't know [about that].

"I can only say that there is nothing definite right now about him leaving."

Evra held off the challenge of Alex Sandro last season to make 24 Serie A starts, but the Brazilian is now first choice in coach Massimiliano Allegri's plans.

But Evra has no imminent plans to end his career, saying in a recent interview with UEFA.com: "I remember Ryan Giggs telling me when he was 37 that it was one of his best years.

"I asked why, and he said: 'It's like it's too easy.' After the games, he wasn't tired -- and it's true. When I was 20, I played a lot of games and I was really tired afterwards.

"But now, because you play more with your head, after the game you feel good even though we work very hard.

"I can only hope that 37 will be one of my best years too. But I just want to enjoy it. I want to enjoy myself -- like I always say, I love this game."

Evra agent refuses to rule out Premier League

return for 'frustrated' Juventus full-back

The agent of the Frenchman says the full-back is frustrated by his lack of

playing time at the Turin side this season but is unsure where his future sits.

http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892/transfer-zone/2016/12/29/30956712/-

Dec 29, 2016

Patrice Evra has grown frustrated with a reduced role in the Juventus first-team this season, the player's agent has said.

The 35-year-old has been a regular in the Champions League but has only started three Serie A matches this term, with Alex Sandro frequently preferred at left-back.

Evra's contract expires at the end of the season - although Juve have an option to extend it by a further year - but his lack of playing time has prompted talk of a move back to the Premier League as early as January.

Although his agent, Federico Pastorello, has denied that Evra is unhappy with life in general at Juve, he concedes that he would like a bigger role in the side.

"I do have to admit that, like all footballers, he would like to be playing more often," he told juvenews.eu. "I've been receiving a lot of calls, and I don't know where the rumours are coming from, but Patrice is not at all unhappy at Juventus.

"I honestly don't know [about Premier League interest]. I can only say that there is nothing definite right now about him leaving."

Evra has won two domestic doubles and the Supercoppa Italiana, and reached the Champions League final, since joining Juve from Manchester United in 2014.

West Ham, who signed Simone Zaza from the Italian champions on loan in August, have been linked with a deal for the France international.

Slaven Bilic rules out January move for Patrice Evra

http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/west-ham-united/transfer-

talk/news/bilic-rules-out-january-move-for-evra_288285.html

Dec 29, 2016

Slaven Bilic has insisted that West Ham United have no interest in signing Patrice Evra from Juventus when the transfer window opens for business next week.

The Hammers boss is in the market for new recruits in January following a largely disappointing first half to the 2016-17 campaign.

Juventus full-back Evra is one of a number of players to have been linked with a switch to the London Stadium, having entered the final six months of his current contract and reportedly told close friends that he is interested in a return to English football.

Bilic has distanced himself from making an approach for the Frenchman, however, claiming that the vast majority of transfer rumours so far have been well wide of the mark.

"We are the club that is linked with the most players in Europe!" he told reporters. "Every player that is available, it is always West Ham.

"Ninety-five per cent of that is not true, definitely not true with Evra. OK, he is a great player, but at that position we are well-covered."

West Ham have also been strongly linked with former player Jermain Defoe in recent weeks, but Bilic was unwilling to comment on the speculation.

VIDEO: Evra's hilarious impressions of his Juventus team-mates

Juan Cuadrado and Mario Mandzukic are mocked by the mischievous

Frenchman as he takes a light-hearted look at their character traits.

Jan 2, 2017

Patrice Evra has become something of a social media sensation, with a legion of followers often treated to memorable videos from the Juventus full-back.

In recent months, the Frenchman has indulged in a spot of karaoke, dancing and ironing!

He has now turned his hand to impressions, with his current team-mates getting the Evra treatment.

Picking up on unfortunate character traits, the former Manchester United defender decides to focus his attention on Juan Cuadrado and Mario Mandzukic.

Cuadrado will be relieved to discover that mocking his dancing is the worst Evra could muster.

Mandzukic, in contrast, will be less than impressed with the treatment he gets – although it appears that the Croatian striker is never happy anyway!

Evra to return to Manchester United?

http://www.football-italia.net/96370/evra-return-manchester-united

Jan 4, 2017

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has hinted that Juventus’ Patrice Evra could return to Old Trafford.

The left-back joined the Bianconeri in July of 2014, and has wont the double in both of his two seasons in Turin.

However, the Frenchman is now 35 and Alex Sandro has been more regularly deployed on the left, though Evra has played every Champions League game.

That has led to speculation that the veteran could return to England, but a former teammate has linked him with a shock return to the Red Devils.

“Throwing it out there…” Ferdinand wrote on Instagram.

“Patrice Evra, I’m hearing thru [sic] social media u [sic] coming home bro? Talk to me!”

RUMOURS: Evra wants Manchester United return

The 35-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Juventus and would jump

at the chance to return to Old Trafford, where he won five Premier League titles.

http://www.goal.com/en/news/14222/transfer-talk/2017/01/05/31168822/-

Jan 5, 2017

Patrice Evra is keen on returning to Manchester United to see out his career, according to The Times.

The 35-year-old left Old Trafford for Juventus in 2014 to call time on a trophy-laden eight years, which included five Premier League titles and one Champions League.

Evra was initially a key player for the Serie A giants, helping them to back-to-back titles, but has featured just nine times this season and has now told friends he would jump at the chance to return to Old Trafford.

Rio Ferdinand fuelled speculation with an Instagram post directed at his former team-mate, writing: "Throwing it out there... @patrice.evra I'm hearing thru social media u coming home bro?!? Talk to me!"

Manchester United Transfer News: Patrice Evra

Eyes Return Amid Latest Rumours

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2685329-manchester-united-

transfer-news-patrice-evra-eyes-return-amid-latest-rumours

Jan 5, 2017

Patrice Evra is hoping to make a surprise return to Manchester United and could even leave Juventus during the January transfer window, according to Adrian Kajumba for the Mirror.

The France international spent eight years at Old Trafford before departing for Turin in the summer of 2014. However, after two successful years in Italy, Evra is now struggling to get into the starting XI. Alex Sandro's excellent form has forced the left-back to consider his options, with a return to United his favoured move, per Kajumba.

Rumours that Evra may leave Juventus began after his agent, Federico Pastorello, admitted that the 35-year-old "would like to be playing more often," per Juvenews.eu (h/t Ben Gladwell for ESPN FC). The defender has only started three league matches in 2016/17, although he has featured in all six of the club's Champions League games.

However, United are not interested in bringing Evra to the club in January, according to Stuart Mathieson for the Manchester Evening News, who wrote that manager Jose Mourinho "firmly believes" in the potential of Luke Shaw.

However, it would not be surprising if the Red Devils boss was looking for a dependable left-back if Shaw's injury problems continue. The 21-year-old has only started six league games this campaign, with Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind most often filling in for him.

What's more, Mourinho is not averse to signing veterans of the game. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 35, has arguably been United's best player this season, and Evra's excellent physical fitness would suggest he can remain at the top for a little while yet. The defender's experience could also be a positive influence on the younger players, as sports writer Liam Canning noted:

Former Old Trafford favourite Rio Ferdinand recently took to Instagram to lend his support to the rumours:

Patrice Evra: called ‘Uncle Pat’ by Pogba and Antoine Griezmann, can help and mentor youth at #mufc (especially Shaw), and a good back-up.

In other United news, James Rodriguez might use the club as a "bargaining chip" when negotiating a new contract at Real Madrid, per Samuel Luckhurst for the Manchester Evening News.

The Red Devils recently made an enquiry regarding the player's availability in the summer and were quoted £50 million, according to Emanuele Giulanelli for The Sun, but any hopes of a deal have been scuppered by the man himself.

"Real Madrid is the club I dreamed about. And here I am living that dream," he said, per Luckhurst, after Real's Copa del Rey tie against Sevilla on Wednesday. "I'm where I always wanted to be."

United fans might be excited by the idea of a club legend such as Evra coming to Old Traffordnever mind a superstar like Jamesbut as things stand, their pursuit of new signings in January is not looking fruitful.

Evra could leave Juventus

http://www.football-italia.net/96429/evra-could-leave-juventus

Jan 5, 2017

Rumours are growing that Patrice Evra could leave Juventus, but he won’t be forced out.

The Frenchman’s agent has admitted that his client would like to play more, and this week Rio Ferdinand sparked rumours of a return to Manchester United.

Now Goal Italia’s Romeo Agresti is reporting that Evra’s poor performance in the Supercoppa Italiana has raised doubts about his long-term future in Turin.

The Bianconeri are happy to keep hold of him for the rest of the season, as his contract will expire in the summer unless the club triggers an extra year.

However, out of respect for Evra, the Old Lady would allow him to leave if the left-back asked to go, using Kwadwo Asamoah as the backup to Alex Sandro.

The 35-year-old has made just three Serie A starts this season, but is still seen as an important figure in Europe, starting all six Champions League group matches.

Evra could leave Juventus in January amid Man Utd return rumours

The French left-back is set to depart from Turin in the January transfer window amid

rumours that he could return to Old Trafford, which were sparked by Rio Ferdinand.

http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892/transfer-zone/2017/01/05/31182892/-

Jan 5, 2017

Patrice Evra is set to leave Juventus in January amid reports of interest from his old club, Manchester United, Goal understands.

The left-back spent eight years at Old Trafford before moving to the Italian giants, winning five Premier League titles and the Champions League along the way.

Evra has since won two Serie A titles in Italy but it is understood that the Old Lady are willing to allow him to depart the club in the winter window.

Both Kwadwo Asamoah and Alex Sandro can deputise at left-back but Juve would rather that Evra did not leave the club quickly so they are not forced into the transfer market.

The former United star has been linked with a return to Old Trafford after Rio Ferdinand sent the rumour mill into overdrive with a seemingly hopeful Instagram post.

"Throwing it out there... I'm hearing thru [sic] social media u coming home bro?! Talk to me," Ferdinand wrote, beside a picture of him celebrating a United goal with Evra.

Subsequent reports claim that the Frenchman has a desire to return to United as he looks to end his career away from Turin.

The 35-year-old has won 81 caps for France but has seen his playing time limited this season, making just six appearances for Juventus in Serie A.

Who wants to live for Evra? Why Man Utd

return for former hero would be a mistake

The French full-back is set to have his Juventus contract ended early but a comeback to

Old Trafford, as has been mooted by Rio Ferdinand, is unlikely to do anybody any favours.

http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892/transfer-zone/2017/01/05/31184542/-

Jan 5, 2017

You could forgive some of the more wistful Manchester United fans if they have spent much of the last 24 hours binge-watching videos of Patrice Evra's days patrolling the left flank at Old Trafford. Ever since Rio Ferdinand stirred the pot with a leading Instagram post asking if the Frenchman could return to the Theatre of Dreams, memories of Evra's glorious eight-year spell in the Premier League have been close to the surface.

Add in the news that Juventus are ready to release the 35-year-old from the final six months of his contract with the Italian champions and sentimental souls may be hoping for Jose Mourinho to snap up the 81-cap former France international.

But surely the addition of Evra would be a purely emotional move for a United outfit currently doing everything that they can to build for a gold-plated future.

A team boasting seven straight victories with a new core and having finally overcome some of the mental scars left by the post-Sir Alex Ferguson years under David Moyes and Louis van Gaal need to be encouraged to back their ability to build a new, successful Manchester United.

Do they really need a slow, veteran left-back to come in and fill the bench? Sure, there are varying doubts relating to Matteo Darmian's ability at Premier League level, Daley Blind's lack of pace, Marcos Rojo's usefulness on the flank and Luke Shaw's susceptibility to injuries. But is Evra truly the answer?

You don't have to look only at his recent decline into near-obscurity at Juventus for proof that Evra doesn't have what it takes any more. Even in his latter days as a United player, his inability to stay with the tempo of Premier League football was stark. When many observers claim that Ferguson saw the decline of the Red Devils coming and believed it to be one regeneration too many, Evra is often held up as one of the key examples.

It would obviously be a positive in terms of morale to have Evra back in the ranks. After all, who else will dance around dressed as a panda when the moment demands it? And surely there is nobody better placed to trade amusing interview techniques with Paul Pogba as Evra did during their Euro 2016 campaign with France.

But if Evra is truly hoping to end his exceptional career with some kind of glorious send-off in the red shirt of Manchester United, then he is likely very much out of luck. Since he left almost three years ago, the Premier League has only become more unforgiving and there is less room than ever before for sentiment.

Just as Nemanja Vidic decided after being released by Inter amid rumours of a United return that it was best not to force one last hurrah which might not work out, Evra ought to know that the game is almost up. He left United in 2014 with a legacy which he would do very well to protect. It would do nobody any favours to see him struggle through the closing months of the season proving himself to be a shadow of the player who once graced the Old Trafford turf with such distinction.

Valencia in for Evra too?

http://www.football-italia.net/96445/valencia-evra-too

Jan 5, 2017

Patrice Evra might be leaving Juventus in the January transfer window, but Valencia have joined Manchester United in making an approach.

There have been growing reports over the last few days that the veteran France international could be heading out of Turin early.

A return to Manchester United has been suggested as a possible alternative for the 35-year-old.

However, Sportitalia now claim that Valencia have asked Juventus about the possibility of signing the left-back.

It is known that Valencia chiefs met with Juve representatives today to discuss Simone Zaza, so they could well have talked about Evra too.

Evra managed just six Serie A appearances this season, plus six in the Champions League and was a substitute in the Supercoppa Italiana.

His contract is due to expire at the end of the season, unless the Bianconeri activate the clause to add another year.

Evra started his career at Paris Saint-Germain, going on to spells at Marsala, Monza, Nice, Monaco and Manchester United.

He joined Juve for a minimal fee in July 2014.

Valencia want Zaza and Evra

http://www.football-italia.net/96456/valencia-want-zaza-and-evra

Jan 5, 2017

Valencia asked Juventus for both Simone Zaza and Patrice Evra, but they have taken a few days to decide, claim Sky Sport Italia.

The Bianconeri met with director Jesus Garcia Pitarch today and discussed two potential transfers.

Their interest in Zaza is well known, but the Liga outfit took the opportunity to investigate Evra’s situation as well.

The French full-back had already been linked with an early departure from Turin, although he had seemed to be heading back to the Premier League for Manchester United.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Zaza has asked for a few days to consider the Valencia proposal.

He is eager not to make another mistake after his failed loan spell at West Ham United.

‘Evra important for Juve harmony’

Andrea Barzagli says Patrice Evra “is like he’s always been” and that the left-back is “one of the men” in Juventus’ dressing room.

Evra has been linked with Valencia and a return to Manchester United after struggling for minutes this season, but Barzagli insists there have been no indications that his fellow veteran will leave Juve.

“I see him like he’s always been,” the centre-back told Sky Sport Italia.

“He’s one of the men in the dressing room in terms of talking and having a laugh.

“He’s training like he usually does, he’s a true professional. We’re only thinking about the pitch, the rest is up to other people.”

Evra between Valencia and Man Utd

Juventus left-back Patrice Evra is open to accepting a move to Valencia, but would prefer to wait for Manchester United interest, claim reports.

The 35-year-old is only under contract to the end of the current campaign and has repeatedly been linked with a January exit.

Sky Sport Italia, As and CV Radio all suggest the Frenchman has left the door open to accepting the Valencia switch, as the two clubs are already in advanced negotiations for Simone Zaza.

However, Evra is making no secret of the fact he’d prefer a return to Manchester United.

The idea would be to play for another six months at Old Trafford and then retire to join Jose Mourinho’s staff.

As for Juventus, they could push for Sead Kolasinac to leave Schalke 04 in January rather than wait until he becomes a free agent in June.

Valencia interested in Juventus star Evra –

but he dreams of Man Utd move

The Frenchman is set to make a decision over his future imminently,

with a switch to Spain looking the likely outcome.

Valencia want to sign veteran Juventus left-back Patrice Evra as they attempt to battle against relegation from La Liga.

While the Frenchman wishes to quit the Turin side amid a lack of playing time, his ideal move would be back to Manchester United, though the reality is that he will likely head for Spain. Goal understands that he is poised to make a decision on his future imminently.

Aged 35, the left-back is not ready to quit the game and the Spanish outfit see him as possessing the experience to lift them out of their current funk.

Rumours had linked the France international with a move back to Old Trafford, however, with Rio Ferdinand’s Instagram post to his former team-mate setting alight speculation that he could move back to the Premier League. While this has not been entirely ruled out, it is a distant possibility.

Juventus are ready to look around for replacements, and if an opportunity to alter this area of their side arises they could be willing to take it. Mattia De Sciglio of AC Milan, whose career was launched by Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri, is a prime candidate, while Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian is also in their viewfinder, having previously turned out for Torino for four years.

Another option for the Serie A side is Sead Kolasinic, who is out of contract with Schalke in the summer and appears unwilling to sign a new deal so could be available on a cut-price deal this month.

Allegri, meanwhile, has been tight lipped on the future of Evra, indicating to the media: "I won't talk about transfers, because that is down to the club. As long as players are at Juventus, they have to be at the disposal of the coach.

"There is some instability created by transfer gossip, so the less we talk about it, the better. I am against the January window, as it creates distraction and can destabilise situations during an important month of games."

The Frenchman enjoyed the most successful spell of his career with United, where he won five Premier League titles, three League Cups, the Champions League in 2007-08 and the Club World Cup.

Evra played 379 games for the Red Devils between 2006 and 2014, scoring 10 goals and assisting 40 more. Since moving to Juventus two-and-a-half years ago, he has turned out on 82 occasions.

He started his professional career in Italy with Monza having come through the youth ranks at Paris Saint-Germain before moving to Ligue 1 side Nice and then to Monaco, who he helped to the Champions League final of 2004.

Agent: 'Evra might not leave Juve'

http://www.football-italia.net/96543/agent-evra-might-not-leave-juve

Jan 7, 2017

Patrice Evra’s agent leaves the door open between Valencia and Manchester United, but “it’s not certain he will leave Juventus.”

The defender has been left out of the squad for tomorrow night’s Serie A match with Bologna, fuelling reports his exit is imminent.

While Valencia are the favourites, as they are also in advanced negotiations with Juve for Simone Zaza, Evra has also been linked with a return to Old Trafford.

Juvenews.eu contacted Evra’s agent Federico Pastorello to ask if he was indeed wanted by both Valencia and Manchester United?

“We’ll see what happens over the next few days,” was the reply.

Is Evra’s departure from the Bianconeri now to be taken for granted?

“No, I can rule that out. It’s not certain he will leave Juventus.”

Meanwhile, Valencia director of sport Jesus Garcia Pitarch has sensationally resigned, leaving the club in turmoil and potentially changing the negotiations for Zaza and Evra.

Man Utd and Valencia target Evra

could stay at Juventus, says agent

The Frenchman is being linked with a switch away from Turin but his representative

insists the defender may yet see the season out with the Serie A side.

Juventus defender Patrice Evra could still remain with the club despite being linked with a move to Manchester United and Valencia, according to his agent.

Evra is contracted until the end of the season but could seemingly leave the Serie A champions in January.

The 35-year-old has been dropped from the Juve squad ahead of their league clash against Bologna on Sunday, despite first choice left-back Alex Sandro's absence through injury.

Goal understands Valencia are keen on landing the full-back, although his preference would be to return to United - the club he represented from 2006 until 2014.

However, Evra's representative, Federico Pastorello, has said there is a possibility Evra will remain at Juve.

"It's not certain he will leave Juventus," Pastorello told Juvenews.eu.

He added: "We'll see what happens over the next few days."

Evra has struggled for game time this season, making just six league appearances for Juve, although he has started all six of their Champions League matches.

'He's taking a moment to reflect' - Juventus chief

Marotta confirms Evra considering exit

The Turin side opted not to select the Frenchman for a Serie A

match as the defender decides if he wants to leave the club.

Patrice Evra was left out of the Juventus squad for Sunday's match at home to Bologna as he considers his future at the Serie A champions, according to chief executive Giuseppe Marotta.

French defender Evra has been an important figure for Juve since joining from Manchester United in 2014.

The 35-year-old, who has added two Scudetti to his career trophy haul during his time in Italy, has been linked with a return to Old Trafford, as well as a potential move to Spain with Valencia.

And Marotta confirmed the France international could be set to leave Juventus Stadium during the transfer window.

"Evra was not called up to the squad because he's thinking about his future," he told Sky Sport Italia. "If he leaves, we will not sign a replacement.

"It's only right he's taking a moment to reflect, as his contract will expire in June, he is 35 years old going towards 36. We'll see next week.

"I don't think we need to find a replacement, as we have internal options like Kwadwo Asamoah and Federico Mattiello."

Juve 'wait to replace Evra'

http://www.football-italia.net/96614/juve-wait-replace-evra

Jan 9, 2017

Juventus will only look to replace Patrice Evra in the summer rather than seeking a January alternative, reports suggest.

Bianconeri Director General Beppe Marotta confirmed that the 35-year-old was considering his future after being left out of the squad that faced Bologna on Sunday.

Evra is reportedly subject to offers from Valencia and Manchester United and looks set to leave Turin.

Possible alternatives for the Old Lady have been named as Mattia De Sciglio of Milan, Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian and Bologna left-back Adam Masina.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport however, the club are likely to wait until the summer before making a choice.

This would leave Alex Sandro as the only recognised left-back, with Juve likely to deploy internal options such as Kwadwo Asamoah and Federico Mattiello as cover for the Brazilian.
