Raul: Madrid will have to be
at their best to beat Juventus

The former Blancos captain believes the Liga giants could be in for a surprise
if they don't play with 'great character' against the Bianconeri in Turin.

Nov 5, 2013

Raul says Real Madrid must play as they did during "the last half hour against Barcelona" if they are to defeat Juventus in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

http://markting10.nl/

The legendary Blancos forward, who is currently plying his trade in Qatar with Al Sadd, believes that the Bianconeri have more than enough talent to upset his former side.

"Madrid will have to play like they did in the last half hour at Camp Nou against Barcelona [10 days ago],” Raul told Tuttosport.

“At that point, they showed great character and they made it difficult for our rivals in the league [before losing 2-1].”

http://markting10.nl/

Juventus knocked Madrid out at the quarter-final stage of the 1995-96 Champions League, but the Liga side got their revenge when they beat the Serie A outfit in the final two years later.

"They were our nemesis," Raul said of the rivalry between the two European giants. "We won the first leg of the 1995-96 quarter-final, but lost in the return.

“We were sad, but we managed to beat them (1-0) at the end of the 1997-98 season and lift the trophy.”

http://markting10.nl/

Raul believes that although the Old Lady don’t have attacking players of the calibre of Pavel Nedved or Alessandro Del Piero any more, they could still cause a shock as they have “great players like Carlos Tevez”.

The former Madrid captain, who made over 500 appearances for the club, concluded by stating his plans for the future.

“I’ll stay in football," the 36-year-old declared. "I have two options: return to work at Real Madrid or stay here (in Qatar), to help prepare for the 2022 World Cup.”

Bale could expose Conte tactics
and put Juve to the sword

The Serie A outfit must attack in their bid to progress to the knockout stages, but that approach
could well play into Madrid's hands and their strength on the counterattack.

Nov 5, 2013

COMMENT
By Brendon Netto

Antonio Conte has no option but to go for broke when his Juventus side play host to Real Madrid on Tuesday and the Bianconeri's growing desperation for points may well see Gareth Bale make his mark in Europe.

http://markting10.nl/

A Cristiano Ronaldo double saw Madrid beat Juve 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu but this time around they’ll have to deal with the added threat of los Blancos' €100 million man as well.

The Welshman sat out of that first fixture through injury but two goals and four assists later and Bale is showing signs of reproducing his best form.

Given that Juventus need to seize the initiative in this game, Conte’s first problem is the fragility of his side's 3-5-2 formation against the pacey attack and lethal counter-attacking threat of Madrid.

http://markting10.nl/

The Old Lady stuck with their tried and tested system in last year’s competition when they came up against eventual winners Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals, but it went horribly wrong as they were convincingly beaten 2-0 in both legs.

The devastating wing-play of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery had a huge hand in that as they ran riot in behind Juve's wing-backs, dragging their central defenders wide and creating gaping holes through the middle.

If afforded the same kind of freedom, Bale and Ronaldo will be licking their lips. That’s precisely why Conte deployed a 4-3-3 formation in the away fixture. The ploy worked reasonably well as they restricted their hosts to only a few chances, but may not be quite as solid when they’re chasing the game this time around.

http://markting10.nl/

Angelo Ogbonna and Martin Caceres performed excellently in full-back roles in Madrid. This time, however, the full-backs may have to throw caution to the wind in a bid to give the team more of an attacking threat down the flanks.

What will undoubtedly amplify the impact of the rejuvenated Bale, who has been aided by the return of Xabi Alonso from injury. The midfielder was a calming influence on the side when he made his comeback as a second half substitute in Madrid’s 7-3 mauling of Sevilla. He followed up that display with a start against Rayo Vallecano against whom he orchestrated the midfield with his vast array of passes to both flanks.

http://markting10.nl/

His influence on the team is obvious and though Luka Modric has impressed in spurts this season, Alonso remains the lynchpin of Madrid’s midfield. He has proved to be vital on the counterattack for the team and on the break, his role is not too dissimilar to that of a quarter-back. With pacey forwards making darting runs ahead of him, he has a knack of picking out the right one with unerring accuracy.

With Bale and Ronaldo bombing forward, Alonso won’t be short of options when the opportunity presents itself against Juventus and if the Serie A side are not on top of their game, a group stage exit could draw ever closer.

Xabi Alonso to start against Juventus

Nov 5, 2013

Xabi Alonso is expected to start for Real Madrid in their Champions League clash with Juventus on Tuesday evening.

http://markting10.nl/

The Spanish international made his first start of the season against Rayo Vallecano at the weekend, having been out of action for five months with a groin injury that required surgery.

The 31-year-old was substituted at the interval of the La Liga clash, but reports in Spain have claimed that the former Liverpool midfielder will start in Turin.

http://markting10.nl/

Sami Khedira and Luka Modric are also expected to line up in a three-man midfield for the Spanish outfit, who currently top Group B with nine points.

Juventus v Real Madrid – Team News, Tactics,
Line-ups And Prediction | UEFA Champions League

Nov 5, 2013

Real Madrid will face reigning Italian champions Juventus at the Juventus Stadium tonight in their next Champions League fixture.

http://markting10.nl/

The Spanish side won their first fixture against Juventus since 2005 last month at the Bernabeu stadium. Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace for the home side, but it wasn’t the most convincing performance from Real Madrid. Juventus played most of the second half with ten-men, but they were able to contain Real Madrid’s attack and also threatened to score despite their numerical disadvantage. Carlo Ancelotti’s men will have to produce a much better performance in Italy to get a positive result in this match. The odds favour Juventus and a win for the Italian side would pay +145.

Team news and tactics

JUVENTUS

Juventus are currently third in Serie A, three points behind league leaders Roma. The Italian side bounced back well after two back to back defeats against Fiorentina and Real Madrid with victories against Genoa, Catania and Parma. Juventus are coming into this fixture on the back of a 1-0 win over Parma as Paul Pogba scored the winner in the second half.

http://markting10.nl/

The Bianconeri are currently third in Group B standings with just two points from three outings. Real Madrid are expected to win this group, but Juventus will have Galatasaray on their sight, who are currently have two points more than the Italian side. If Juventus lose this game and Galatasaray wins their fixture against FC Copenhagen, it will be a tough task for them to close down a five points lead in two matches.

Antonio Conte will be without Simone Pepe, Mirko Vucinic and Stephan Lichtsteiner for this game due to injuries, while Giorgio Chiellini will serve his suspension after being sent off in his last game. So Conte will make only one change to the side that he fielded against Real Madrid in their last meeting.

Leonardo Bonucci will replace Chiellini at the back as Juventus switch back to a back-four in this match. Ogbonna will start as the left-back in this game, while Caceres starts as the right-back. Pirlo, who didn’t start the match against Parma, will start in the midfield alongside Pogba and Vidal. Giovinco will drop back to the bench as Llorente, Tevez and Marchisio start in the three-man attack.

http://markting10.nl/

Expected starting line-up (4-3-3): Buffon (GK); Ogbonna, Bonucci, Barzagli, Caceres; Pogba, Pirlo, Vidal; Tevez, Llorente, Marchisio

REAL MADRID

Like Juventus, Real Madrid are third in the league table currently, six points behind league leaders Barcelona. Los Blancos bounced back from the defeat in the El Clasico with a massive 7-3 win over Sevilla in the league. They are coming into this game on the back of a 2-3 win over Rayo Vallecano as Cristiano Ronaldo scored a wonderful brace.

Real Madrid currently lead the points table of Group B with three wins in their first three games. The Spanish side can confirm their place in the knockout stage with just a draw against Juventus in this game, although they would want their prime concern is to win this group in order to avoid a tough draw in the next stage.

http://markting10.nl/

Carlo Ancelotti will be without Fabio Coentrao for this game after the left back picked up an injury in their match against Rayo Vallecano. The Real Madrid manager is expected to make five changes to the side that started against Rayo. Casillas will replace Lopez in the goal as Arbeloa starts at right back and Marcelo replaces the injured Coentrao. Varane will also return to the starting line-up in place of Pepe.

The big news for the Real Madrid fans is of course the return of Xabi Alonso, who featured for 90 minutes in the last game. The Spaniard will once again feature in the midfield alongside Modric and Khedira, who will replace Di Maria. Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale will make the front three in this game.

Expected starting line-up (4-3-3): Casillas (GK); Arbeloa, Ramos, Varane, Marcelo; Modric, Alonso, Khedira; Bale, Benzema, Ronaldo

http://markting10.nl/

Players to watch out for: Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid); Arturo Vidal (Juventus)

Prediction: Juventus 2-2 Real Madrid

5 Juventus Players Who Could Hurt Los Blancos

Nov 5, 2013

On Tuesday night, Turin will witness a true clash of the titans as Real Madrid aim to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League. In contrast, Juventus will hope that they can rescue their season among Europe’s elite with their first win of the campaign.

http://markting10.nl/

A fortnight ago at the Bernabeu, Los Blancos emerged narrow victors over the Italian giants in a game that saw the Bianconeri reduced to 10 men.

With a 100 percent record thus far in the Champions League and 10 goals scored in their last two La Liga matches, Cristiano Ronaldo et al travel to Italy full of confidence, knwoing a win will confirm their placing among the last 16.

Carlo Ancelotti returns to one of his old stomping grounds aware that a win would mean a step forward in the club's obstinate quest for La Decima.

http://markting10.nl/

Barcelona aside, this will arguably be Los Blancos' toughest examination of this season and a chance to put down a real marker for other teams to take notice.

By contrast, Juventus have it all to do if they are to continue the impressive rebuild of their legendary brand into one of Europe’s current superpowers. Two back-to-back Scudettos led to considerable optimism that La Vecchia Signora of Italian football could once again become the toast of Europe.

http://markting10.nl/

However, the Bianconeri have only accumulated two points from their opening three games. Therefore, victory over Real is imperative.

Antonio Conte's men must take the initiative in Tuesday’s headlining tie, demanding that their key attacking personnel bring their "A" game to the table and cause Los Blancos considerable problems.

5. Kwadwo Asamoah

Ghanaian Kwadwo Asamoah joined Juventus from Udinese in the summer of 2012.

Last season, the midfielder made 45 appearances for club and country, producing 12 assists and scoring five goals.

An underrated player, Asamoah's strength and endurance are vital on the club's left wing, particularly since Juventus play with a back

http://markting10.nl/

4. Andrea Pirlo

The wily 34-year-old continues to defy the ageing process for both Juve and the Azzurri as chief playmaker, nonchalantly pulling the strings across the park.

Despite Los Blancos’s likely game plan to put pressure on the Bianconeri’s maestro, Andrea Pirlo requires only a split second to inflict significant damage onto the opposition.

So far in Serie A, the midfielder leads the way in pass completion (89 percent) among his club's attacking players, accompanied with the highest average distance per pass (22 metres).

Real will need to be wary of Pirlo's effortless ability to switch the play.

http://markting10.nl/

3. Paul Pogba

The young Frenchman continues to progress at an alarmingly rapid rate, with the all-action midfielder becoming the focal point of La Vecchia Signora’s engine room.

Paul Pogba's performances have reached such consistently high levels that the likes of Chelsea have been linked with the 21-year-old, according to Guardian reporter Simon Burnton.

Only last month, Sky Sports reported that club president Andrea Agnelli stated, via Simone Bargellini: “If a huge offer arrived for Pogba then I don't think, right now, we would be strong enough to resist it."

http://markting10.nl/

Despite only completing one full season at Juventus, the club’s board are keen to reward the youngster with an improved contract, in an attempt to ward off the predators.

Ranking fifth in Serie A for most duels won, as per Squawka, Pogba will be key to Juventus’ presumed game plan of stifling the creative genius of Luka Modric.

Juve's chief hustler is a hugely exciting talent.

http://markting10.nl/

2. Arturo Vidal

The Chilean attacking midfielder possesses a potent goal threat.

So far in 11 Serie A matches, Arturo Vidal has found the back of the net on five occasions and has fashioned his team's most attempts on goal—supplying three assists and 17 key passes.

The above heat map demonstrates how Vidal was largely given a free role at the weekend against Parma. A repeat performance will ensue a difficult night for Ancelotti's men, particularly if they choose to man-mark Vidal.

http://markting10.nl/

1. Carlos Tevez

The Argentine’s summer transfer from Manchester to Turin has reignited his career—with Carlos Tevez reveling at being the No. 1 forward at the Juventus stadium.

A surprising statistic was revealed this week, that Tevez has not scored in Europe’s elite competition for four years.

http://markting10.nl/

Given his domestic form with seven goals from 15 outings, Juve’s No. 10 will be determined to put that unwanted fact to bed Tuesday night.

Tevez has proven over the years that he can fashion chances out of nothing, and the Bianconeri need him in top form in their must-win game against Real.

Line-ups: Juventus-Real Madrid

Nov 5, 2013

Juventus have Carlos Tevez and Andrea Pirlo against Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale of Real Madrid.

http://markting10.nl/

This Champions League showdown kicks off in Turin at 19.45 GMT and is a must-win for the Bianconeri, who have only two points from three games.

The 2-1 defeat at the Bernabeu was controversial, as it saw Giorgio Chiellini sent off for a seemingly innocuous shoulder-to-shoulder with Ronaldo.

As a result, the veteran defender is suspended this evening, while Stephan Lichtsteiner and Mirko Vucinic are still unavailable due to injury.

http://markting10.nl/

Kwadwo Asamoah is given the task of stopping Bale, preferred at left-back to Angelo Ogbonna despite being technically a wide midfielder.

Once again, Antonio Conte switches his usual 3-5-2 system to a 4-3-3 in order to match Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

Claudio Marchisio is pushed into a more advanced role with Fernando Llorente and Tevez.

http://markting10.nl/

Real Madrid have a 100 per cent record in Group B so far, but are without Fabio Coentrao after he sprained his ankle in a 3-2 win at Rayo Vallecano.

Raul Arbeloa is dropped, as Sergio Ramos is re-routed to right-back.

The Spaniards have a poor history away to Juventus, losing their last five trips to Turin on the bounce.

http://markting10.nl/

Their most recent visit was 2-1 in October 2008, secured by Alessandro Del Piero and Amauri.

Conte called for the Juventus Stadium to be turned into “a cauldron” and an hour before kick-off that already seems to be the case.

Marotta: 'This is The Game'

Nov 5, 2013

Juventus director general Beppe Marotta admits tonight’s clash with Real Madrid “is The Game.”

http://markting10.nl/

It kicks off in Turin at 19.45 GMT and is a must-win for the Bianconeri, who have just two points from three matches in Champions League Group B. Click here for the line-ups.

“Tonight this is The Game,” Marotta told Sky Sport Italia. “It’s a very difficult test and winning would be the icing on the cake.

http://markting10.nl/

“We want to achieve something in front of our extraordinary fans. We must make the most of their passion, as they always represent an extra weapon.

“In this competition the danger is always around the corner, so we must be on our toes. It will take something incredible to beat this Real, but we have to believe right to the end.”

HT 1-0: Juve lead Real Madrid

Nov 5, 2013

Arturo Vidal scored from the spot to give Juventus a deserved 1-0 half-time lead over Real Madrid.

Elsewhere in the group, Copenhagen are beating Galatasaray 1-0.

http://markting10.nl/

This was a must-win game for the Bianconeri, who had just two points from three Champions League Group B games. Giorgio Chiellini was suspended after his controversial red card in the 2-1 defeat at the Bernabeu, so Kwadwo Asamoah was used on the left to counter Gareth Bale in a 4-3-3, but Mirko Vucinic and Stephan Lichtsteiner were still sidelined. Carlo Ancelotti benched Raul Arbeloa, moving Sergio Ramos to right-back.

Paul Pogba’s screamer from distance flashed wide after four minutes, while the packed Juventus Stadium crowd jeered loudly whenever Real’s players – dressed all in orange – had the ball.

A Cristiano Ronaldo angled drive was inches past the far post, while Fernando Llorente burst into the area only to see his shot charged down, then Gigi Buffon smothered a Gareth Bale attempt after he had shaken off Martin Caceres.

http://markting10.nl/

On 16 minutes Pepe tried to anticipate Llorente on Pogba’s cross with the outside of his boot and instead almost scored an own goal, forcing Iker Casillas to perform a stunning reaction save from point-blank range.

Claudio Marchisio thought he had scored when his header downwards found a Tevez cross, but Casillas stuck out a shin to parry it off the line in an extraordinary save.

Casillas was again called into action by beating away an Arturo Vidal snapshot, then the goalkeeper was caught out from the corner, but nobody was able to bundle it over the line.

http://markting10.nl/

Pogba burst into the box and Raphael Varane mistimed his sliding tackle, so English referee Howard Webb pointed to the spot. Vidal stepped up and blasted it into the roof of the net, where even Casillas on this form couldn’t get to it.

Real Madrid forced their first corner of the game at the 44th minute and it was a dangerous one, as the ball ricocheted around the six-yard box before it was cleared. Ronaldo fired a great chance over the bar from Marcelo’s cross, as Karim Benzema went for the ball too and clattered into his teammate.

Llorente rescues point in Turin thriller

Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale had put the visitors in front after Arturo Vidal's
first-half penalty but the Spanish striker sealed a share of the spoils.

2vudgt0.jpg

Nov 5, 2013

Fernando Llorente was the hero for Juventus as he earned a point for the Italian champions in a thrilling 2-2 draw with Real Madrid on Tuesday.

http://markting10.nl/

Arturo Vidal had put the hosts in front with a fierce penalty late in the first half, only for Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale to turn the match around at the hour mark.

However, Llorente's header was enough to seal a share of the spoils in a thriller at Juventus Stadium and keep the Bianconeri's hopes of the next round alive.

The result means Real will qualify for the knockout stages barring a freak set of results, as third-placed Copenhagen are six points behind with a vastly inferior goal difference. Juventus are now bottom of the group, but only one point behind Copenhagen and Galatasaray.

http://markting10.nl/

Giorgio Chiellini was suspended for the hosts after being sent off in the return fixture, so Leonardo Bonucci deputised from the start for the home side.

Real named the now familiar front three of Karim Benzema, Ronaldo and Bale, while Raphael Varane partnered Pepe in the centre of defence.

The visitors made the brighter start, but Juventus grew into the game and were twice thwarted by the returning Iker Casillas.

http://markting10.nl/

First he made a superb reflex save to beat away Marcelo's inadvertent deflection in the 17th minute, before denying Llorente at point-blank range with his right foot.

However, there was nothing the goalkeeper could do to prevent the opener three minutes before the break as Madrid conceded their fifth penalty in three matches.

Varane was penalised for catching Paul Pogba's trailing leg and the resulting spot-kick was dispatched high into the goal by Vidal.

http://markting10.nl/

Real pressed much higher up the pitch in the second half and were rewarded with an equaliser in the 52nd minute.

Martin Caceres' slack backpass was deflected into the path of Benzema and his throughball was collected by Ronaldo, who applied a cool finish beyond Gianluigi Buffon.

Real nearly punished Juventus further four minutes later when Xabi Alonso's thunderous half-volley cannoned back off the crossbar.

http://markting10.nl/

After surviving that scare, the hosts nearly retook the lead when Claudio Marchisio was twice denied, first by Casillas and then by Pepe's goal-line block.

Marchisio's misfortune appeared more significant as Real moved in front on the hour mark, Ronaldo collecting Marcelo's pass with a sublime touch and finding Bale, who drove at the Juve defence and found the bottom-right corner with a drilled left-footed shot.

Yet Juventus were back level six minutes later, Caceres atoning for his earlier error with a teasing cross that Llorente stooped low to head home.

http://markting10.nl/

The home fans almost had the chance to celebrate a winner, but were once again frustrated by Casillas as he kept out Tevez's long-distance effort.

The result leaves Ancelotti's side on the brink of the last 16, while Juventus face a battle to reach the knockout phase.

Juve hold Real in 2-2 thriller

Arturo Vidal and Fernando Llorente wiped out Cristiano Ronaldo
and Gareth Bale in a sparkling Juventus 2-2 Real Madrid.

6xqc8h.jpg

Nov 5, 2013

It can still be a positive result, as Copenhagen beat Galatasaray 1-0 in the other game. This means Juve are bottom, but only one point shy of the other two teams.

http://markting10.nl/

This was a must-win game for the Bianconeri, who had just two points from three Champions League Group B games. Giorgio Chiellini was suspended after his controversial red card in the 2-1 defeat at the Bernabeu, so Kwadwo Asamoah was used on the left to counter Gareth Bale in a 4-3-3, but Mirko Vucinic and Stephan Lichtsteiner were still sidelined.

After the restart Martin Caceres had his poor backpass intercepted by Benzema, who threaded through for Cristiano Ronaldo to lift the finish over Buffon one-on-one. This means the Portuguese talent has netted in every Champions League game this season for a total eight goals.

http://markting10.nl/

Juventus seemed shell-shocked and moments later Xabi Alonso’s rocket cracked against the crossbar.

However, the Bianconeri had another fantastic opportunity to score. Pogba set up Marchisio to force a Casillas save from point-blank range, then the Italian saw his rebound effort cleared off the line by Pepe.

It was Real who turned the game around, as Ronaldo rolled across for Bale in far too much space and he fired it low into the near bottom corner.

http://markting10.nl/

Ronaldo hit a counter straight at Buffon, but Llorente got his second goal against Real Madrid in two games. He got away from Varane for a strong header on the Caceres cross from six yards to equalise.

It was wide open in Turin and Benzema got between centre-backs only to blast wide, then Leonardo Bonucci charged down a Sergio Ramos effort in the box and Casillas had to beat away a Tevez scorcher.

Fabio Quagliarella replaced a tired Tevez and immediately tested the goalkeeper with a shot on the turn from the edge of the box. Ronaldo also went on a mazy run past four players, but nobody was there to meet his chipped pass.

http://markting10.nl/

Casillas smothered another Quagliarella strike late on.

Llorente saves the day

Nov 5, 2013

Juventus were held 2-2 by Real Madrid at the Juventus Stadium on Tuesday night in the Champions League.

http://markting10.nl/

Arturo Vidal opened the scoring from the penalty spot just before half time before Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale put the visitors in front in the second half, but Fernando Llorente headed home the equaliser to give the Bianconeri a crucial point.

The first real chance of the game fell to Paul Pogba when he was given acres of space in the midfield but hit his shot way wide of the target.

Ronaldo then tested Gianluigi Buffon with a low driven shot from the right ,which went inches wide of the post, while Bale also had a low effort saved.

http://markting10.nl/

Carloz Tevez had a penalty appeal denied when he was blocked off as he tried to cut outside Sergio Ramos.

Madrid, however, had Casillas to thank for for pulling off quite a few brilliant saves throughout the first half to deny the home side. First, the ball richotetted off Pepe’s shin from a Pogba’s cross with Casillas performing a reflex save.

After that, he kept out a Claudio Marchisio’s header with his right leg, and also parried away a deflected shot by Vidal.

http://markting10.nl/

The decisive moment came in the 40th minute when the Old Lady were awarded a penalty for Raphael Varane’s challenge on Pogba inside the box. Up stepped Vidal to smash in a top right hand corner finish.

Five minutes into the second half, Martin Caceres plays a horrible pass right to Karim Benzema, who in turn fed Ronaldo and the Portuguese curled the ball past Buffon to level the match.

Madrid eventually started to mount the pressure on Juventus and almost took the lead with Xabi Alonso hitting the post with a venomous volley.

http://markting10.nl/

But they made it 2-1 soon after as Bale latched onto Ronaldo’s pass, cut inside Kwadwo Asamoah and scored a neat finish.

It wasn’t until the 65th minute that Juventus equalised through Llorente’s header arising from a cross by Caceres on the right coupled with some poor marking by Varane.

http://markting10.nl/

The night couldn’t get any more hysteric for football fans as Benzema missed an easy chance on goal following a wonderful dummy by Luka Modric.

Casillas came once again to the rescue of Madrid as he kept Tevez, Fabio Quagliarella and Vidal at bay as Madrid hung onto a draw.

Initial reaction and random observations

Nov 5, 2013

Well, for a team that entered such a huge game in need of points, coming away with a draw isn't exactly what you want to happen. And for the second straight game against Real Madrid, we're left here thinking one simple thing: "What if?"

http://markting10.nl/

What if Martin Caceres had passed the ball forward instead of to an empty hole for Real Madrid to jump on and turn it into their first goal just a few short seconds later?

What if Juventus actually knew how to play a full 90 minutes rather than coming out completely flat in the second half?

What if Giorgio Chiellini wasn't unjustly sent off and was the one play as a left back on Tuesday night?

http://markting10.nl/

And with Juve now sitting at the bottom of Group B with three points in four games, what if they didn't come away with just a draw against Copenhagen on Danish soil?

All of these are legitimate questions, but the reality is that Juventus' 2-2 draw against Real Madrid has left Antonio Conte's men looking up at everybody else in Group B. Did Juve deserve more than just a point? Yeah, you could probably say they did. If it wasn't for Iker Casillas channeling his inner San Iker once again, Juve easily would have scored more than two goals.

But you can't just blame it just on poor luck. Juve shot themselves in the foot with a defensive mistake — again. And while a mistake or two might not be crucial against somebody like the teams Juve have played the last few weekends, Real Madrid — especially on Cristiano Ronaldo's goal — showed just how quickly they can make you pay.

http://markting10.nl/

All isn't loss, though. Two wins and they're in. Easier said than done, of course, but even though the result against Real Madrid was frustrating as all can be, Juve still has their destiny in their hands.

JuventusFC ✔ @juventusfcen

Pogba: Copenhagen's win means we're still in the running, but we must only think about ourselves.

The 27th of November at Juventus Stadium and Dec. 10 in Turkey. Two decisive games and everybody knows what needs to happen.

http://markting10.nl/

Random thoughts and obsercations

•What a roller coaster ride of a game for Caceres. He was one of Juve's best players when the two teams played in Madrid, and just as it looked he was really starting to settle into the game, his errant back pass gift-wrapped Real their opener. But much to his credit, he was able to recover from a mistake every single person will be pointing to as a match-altering moment. And if it wasn't for Caceres' cross to the back post, maybe Fernando Llorente doesn't score the game-tying goal.

•Iker Casillas: Still one of the best goalkeepers in the world. That was a truly unbelievable performance. They weren't just difficult saves, but a good number of them were at point-blank range. It's even that much more impressive when you consider how little he plays these days.

•Fernando Llorente: Two games against Real Madrid in the Champions League, two goals. They're not things of beauty, but they're definitely coming up big.

http://markting10.nl/

•A sign of just how much things changed in the second half? Arturo Vidal had six tackles before intermission, he had all of one after the break. It's tough to impose your kind of game when Real Madrid was controlling the pace of things.

•Another sign how things changed in the second half? Paul Pogba was EVERYWHERE in the first half, it seemed like his name was barely even mentioned after halftime.

•General opinion on Kwadwo Asamoah the left back: Mostly okay. Other than getting absolutely shook by Gareth Bale on Madrid's second goal, he was a little better than I thought he might be. I mean, he's played as a left wingback for a season and two months now, but his game wasn't anything spectacular.

http://markting10.nl/

That being said: Can Juve please sign a natural left back soon? That'd be nice.

•Two games to go and there's no more room for error. Win and you're in. It's as simple as that.

JuventusFC ✔ @juventusfcen

Conte: We’ve taken much less than we’ve deserved from this year’s #UCL, but we’re still in it and it’s now all in our hands.

Courageous Juve grab a point against Real Madrid

xbio01.jpg

Nov 5, 2013

Tantalising anticipation rarely delivers a satisfying result, but when Juventus hosted Real Madrid in the heaving Juventus Stadium, spectators were rewarded with a thrilling game that provoked every emotion. A journey of highs and lows finally ended in a fair 2-2 result as both teams exhibited their strengths.

http://markting10.nl/

Noting the brilliance of Iker Casillas goes some way in explaining the strength of the Old Lady in the first 45 minutes of the match. Juventus opted to play a compact game with a high centre of gravity. There was little space between the lines and coupled with heavy pressing, the Italians simply made it difficult for their opponents to get out of their own half.

Patient and vicious when recovering possession, Andrea Pirlo was allowed the opportunity to direct the game and Juventus took control. Inaccuracies were evident as they have been throughout the season, but the intensity of their performance merited admiration.

It was abundantly clear that while the Spanish giants boasted an envious attack, they lacked the ability to defend as a unit. Prone to conceding and disorganisation, it was evident that when enough pressure was applied, an error would occur and the Spaniards would end up conceding a penalty for the third consecutive game. Arturo Vidal stepped up and despite the tension and the goalkeeper's magnificent saves prior to that moment, the Chilean expertly converted his opportunity to give his side the lead.

http://markting10.nl/

Juventus deserved to be on the front foot and ought to have led by more. The organisation of the team was their one true weapon against an expensively assembled side. Each player looked for their opportunity to exploit the space afforded to them. When Carlos Tevez cut in, Kwadwo Asamoah pushed up on the wing. When a striker dropped deep, a midfielder pushed high. It was a cohesive performance and the side excelled in adopting a clear and organised 4-5-1 shape when possession was lost.

Tevez continued to drop deep much to the annoyance of Antonio Conte while Claudio Marchisio's intelligent runs into the box caused problems for the suffering Real Madrid back-line. However, the outstanding player of the first half had to be Paul Pogba. Physically young and yet blessed with a veteran's brain, his movements were well thought out while his roaming ability proved vital. At times, he adopted a high position on the pitch, even higher than Tevez, but tended to drop back if Vidal had pushed forward. It is that intelligence coupled with his sheer athleticism and the ability to keep the ball that allowed Juve to continuously seek out goal-scoring opportunities.

What Conte's men needed to do was spread the play that bit more. With Real Madrid forwards unwilling to help plug the holes in the wide areas, the Italians would have benefitted more had they had a more penetrative player available on the wings.

http://markting10.nl/

Against Real Madrid, attack was Juve's best form of defence and the only way to succeed was to continue forcing the Spaniards to defend.

Unfortunately, energetic performances can only last so long. Pressing, harrying and remaining concentrated is a task few clubs can manage when they are playing every three days. Bianconeri legs tired and Real Madrid knew their chances would arrive.

Intensity dropped in the second half and Juve all but vanished in the first 15 minutes. Blessed with pace and intelligence, credit must be given to Carlo Ancelotti's men for playing a vertical game to punish their opponents. It became about snatching back possession, imposing their strength and running with speed. Beautiful shots and a Juventus error allowed them to score twice in the second half.

http://markting10.nl/

Martin Caceres, who had demonstrated real intensity, erred when he allowed the away side an avenue going forward. When mistakes are made against a team as talented as the Los Blancos, it is inevitable they will exploit them to score.

After that, Ancelotti's men controlled the game but were once again let down by their woeful defending as young Raphael Varane, at fault for conceding the penalty in the first half, allowed Fernando Llorente to slip past and head in the equaliser. The stadium erupted and euphoria swept the crowd.

http://markting10.nl/

Sadly, that was all Juventus could muster in what was an energy-expending game. At times, one has to accept the point on offer and a 2-2 draw was the right result. However, the impressive performance put in tonight demonstrates that Juventus can take on fellow big boys and not suffer under the pressure. Tonight their mentality and lack of fear pushed them forward.

If they manage such intense and clever performances in their remaining two fixtures, they will qualify to the knockout stages. Remaining humble, motivated and concentrated is the way forward for the Italian giants.

Juventus 2-2 Real Madrid:
6 Things We Learned

29ar0cw.jpg

Nov 5, 2013

Juventus secured a vital point in their battle to escape from Group B of the Champions League.

The Bianconeri actually dropped a place, falling to last place in the group as a result of FC Copenhagen's victory over Galatasaray in the evening's other fixture.

http://markting10.nl/

Strangely, though, the Old Lady cheered gleefully when news filtered through of Roberto Mancini's side's surprise defeat.

It now gives them an edge in the pursuit of second place in the group and subsequently qualification for the knockout phase of the tournament.

Victory over the Danish champions in Game 5 will lift Juve into second place if Real Madrid can take care of business over Galatasaray.

http://markting10.nl/

When Game 6 arrives, Juve would only need a point in Istanbul to progress, which would not have been the case had the Aslan won in Copenhagen on Tuesday.

Here are six things we learned from the clash at the Juventus Stadium.

Real Madrid Have an Inability to Control Games in the Midfield

Real Madrid once again failed to control the game through the midfield, surrendering possession for large parts of the match to Juventus.

http://markting10.nl/

The Bianconeri's midfield trio of Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and particularly Paul Pogba were able to edge the 90 minutes in their favour against Real's Xabi Alonso, Sami Khedira and Luka Modric.

It has been a problem that Los Merengues have encountered throughout the current campaign under Carlo Ancelotti.

It will be a concern for Madridistas, as despite Juve's undoubted quality, there are a selection of better sides that they could face in Europe, and their inability to stamp their authority on matches will potentially be their downfall.

http://markting10.nl/

Ancelotti Continues to Fail to Instill an Urgency into His Team

Ancelotti will face question once more as to why his side failed to start quickly, something that is increasingly becoming a trend in this team.

While there were some nice patches of possession, they were ultimately harmless, and Juve eventually began to control matters.

At half-time, Juve thoroughly deserved their lead, and despite a lack of necessity to take a victory from this game after a perfect start in the opening three matches, it will have been duly noted by rival sides that Real can be troubled early on.

http://markting10.nl/

Ancelotti's men were drifting in and out of the game, and aside from the spell at the beginning of the second half, in which Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale wrestled the game back toward the Spaniards, Juve had plenty of joy.

In big games against Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, Real also trailed at the halfway stage, something that will have to be eradicated if Los Blancos are going to claim the major honours.

http://markting10.nl/

Paul Pogba Is the Best Young Midfielder in Europe

Paul Pogba put in another marvellous display to convince me that he is the best young midfielder in Europe.

A signature performance against one of the best sides in Europe will have caught the eye and potentially convinced some skeptics.

The Frenchman bossed the match in the first half, and against some of the finest opponents in the game, it was even more impressive.

http://markting10.nl/

Comparatively, Real Madrid paid over €30 million for Asier Illarramendi, who cannot get a start for a similar-sized club, and the Spaniard is a little older than Pogba.

There is nothing that Pogba cannot do. He possesses a complete game that will enable him to become one of the finest players in European football.

It is obvious now that he is a permanent fixture in this side and that Azzurri international Claudio Marchisio must fit in elsewhere—an incredible feat considering Pogba's tender age.

Soon though, interest from other clubs will begin to mount, and Juve must make sure to keep the incredibly talented 20-year-old.

http://markting10.nl/

Ronaldo Should Be the Front-Runner for the Ballon d'Or

Cristiano Ronaldo can do no more on a personal level. He has produced goalscoring statistics that are unrivalled by any other player over the past year.

There is no need to bore you with the statistics that continue to be regurgitated after each game and goal that the Portuguese scores.

Ronaldo's variety in the way he scores goals is the thing that makes him stand alone from anybody else in my opinion.

http://markting10.nl/

The record for goals scored in the group stage of the Champions League has been shattered with two games to spare, after eight strikes in just four matches.

Franck Ribery and Lionel Messi may play in better teams, but finally, Ronaldo deserves to be named Europe's best player in a white shirt.

http://markting10.nl/

Vidal Could Be the Best Penalty Taker Around

Arturo Vidal dispatches penalties like nobody else.

That long sprint before he strikes the ball sends fear into Juventini, but amazingly, the Chilean consistently hits the top corner.

With power and accuracy, when Vidal hits a penalty in the way he intends, no goalkeeper will save it.

http://markting10.nl/

Vidal replicated the penalty he took against Galatasaray, sending the ball high into the roof of the net.

The situations in which Vidal steps up tend to be at the utmost end of the pressure scale, yet El Guerrero does not appear to be flustered, replicating the same action time and again.

Vidal now appears to be the best spot-kick taker around. If you had to pick one player to dispatch a penalty, would it be the Juve centre midfielder?

http://markting10.nl/

Fernando Llorente Has Finally Settled

Fernando Llorente seems to have finally settled in a black and white shirt.

The Spaniard scored another crucial goal for the Old Lady, equalising to earn a vital point for Juve, that gives them the edge in their pursuit of qualification to the knockout phase of the competition.

Great movement to slip Raphael Varane gave him the space to glance a header into the far corner to send the Juventus Stadium into raptures.

http://markting10.nl/

The Lion King—as Juventini have affectionately named him—is perfectly suited to this 4-3-3 formation that Antonio Conte appears to have settled on for the Champions League.

However, Llorente will need to facilitate Carlos Tevez when the Bianconeri return to the 3-5-2 if he is to earn a permanent role in the starting line-up and therefore hold off competition from a fit-again Fabio Quagliarella and the returning Mirko Vucinic.

Competition is rife for a place in the World Cup squad for the Spanish national team, with David Villa, Fernando Torres, Roberto Soldado, Alvaro Negredo and potentially Diego Costa all vying for minimal places in La Roja's front line—a task that has become even more problematic given Vicente del Bosque's lack of a dependency on centre-forwards.

http://markting10.nl/

Llorente will have a chance, though, as form like this will catch the eye given the greater profile of Juventus compared to Athletic Club.

The 28-year-old appears to be up for the challenge, and he is now adapted enough to Italian football and Antonio Conte's methods to make a late run for a ticket to Brazil.

JUVENTUS

Gianluigi Buffon
- Made a good save on Bale in the first half, and took care of what else came his way. Hard to find fault in him for either Madrid goal.

Martín Cáceres - Was having a fine game until the 52nd minute, where a catastrophic attempt at a back pass instead released Madrid for the equaliser.

Andrea Barzagli - Stretched once or twice on the break, but was generally solid throughout not making any obvious mistakes.

Leonardo Bonucci - Defended superbly against the Madrid front three, making a series of fine plays at the back to win possession back for his team.

Kwadwo Asamoah - Failed to do much to stop Bale in the buildup for the Madrid go-ahead goal, as he was sidestepped with ease by the Welshman.

Paul Pogba - Ran the show throughout Juve's dominant first half, getting past his man at will, holding off challenges and generally trampling all over his Madrid counterparts in the middle of the park.

Andrea Pirlo - Completely in control during he first half as he helped Juve concentrate play in the Madrid zone, but he began ti tire noticeably after the break, and chased the game for the mist part.

Arturo Vidal - Put in an inconceivable amount of tackles to break up play by the opposition, and came up trumps at the other end of the pitch with a splendid penalty to put his side into the lead towards the end of the first half.

Claudio Marchisio - Looked completely out of place when drifting out wide, as he never created much, and fluffed his lines twice when getting on the end of some glorious chances.

Carlos Tévez - Drifted excellently between the midfield and attacking lines, setting his teammates in motion with a series of excellent passes and deliveries. Very difficult to pick up for the opposition.

Fernando Llorente - Made himself a nuisance in the box, nearly slotting in a Tevez ball in the first half, before powerfully heading in the Juve leveler in the second half ahead of his marker Varane.

http://markting10.nl/

Substitutions

Sebastian Giovinco
- Barely had any time to make an impact, coming on in the 88th minute.

Fabio Quagliarella - With his first touch, he made Casillas work to save his low drive towards the corner.

http://markting10.nl/

REAL MADRID CF

Iker Casillas
- Another emphatic return to the starting XI for the Madrid captain, as he thwarted Juve time and time again with a collection of fantastic saves. Could not help either goal, and were he not on his game, Juve could have been out of sight at the half.

Raphaël Varane - Looked nervy before his fatal slip up, a late trip on Pogba that was spotted well by the referee, leading to a penalty which Vidal converted. Manhandled embarrassingly by Llorente for Juve's second goal in what turned out to be a nightmare.

Pepe - Nearly turned the ball past his own keeper when defending a dangerous Pogba cross, and endured an uneasy time against the Juve frontline for the majority of the game - though he made amends with a goal line block on Marchisio.

Sergio Ramos - Handled the threat of Marchisio easily, and stepped into his own box when needed to help out the central defence. Efficient and occasionally dynamic in attack,

Marcelo - Defended well against Marchisio out wide, and was efficient on the ball, setting Madrid's equaliser in motion with a perfectly weighted pass to Ronaldo.

Sami Khedira - Torn this way and that in the first half by Juve, but his side's second half dominance saw him return to effectiveness, as he mopped up loose ends well.

Luka Modric - A big part of Madrid's second half revival, as his vision on the ball and hard work off it helped the visitors dominate the midfield, an area that they conceded in the first half.

Xabi Alonso - Stymied in the first half but looked like his usual self after the restart, facilitating his team well from deep. Ran out of gas eventually though, with Illarramendi coming on in his place.

Cristiano Ronaldo - Hit and miss in the first half, but came alive after the break. Clinically slotted Madrid level shortly after the restart, before teeing up Bale, who made it 2-1.

Karim Benzema - Relatively quiet, though he registered a nice assist for Ronaldo's equaliser with a deft through ball to find the Portuguese unmarked. Missed a pair of efforts himself.

Gareth Bale - Tested Buffon in the first half with a low effort, but was more effective after the break, burying an exquisite goal after running at the Juve defence and picking his spot.

http://markting10.nl/

Substitutions

Ángel Di María
- Helped inject some more pace down the flanks for Madrid in the closing stages, coming close to picking out Ronaldo with a deep cross.

Asier Illarramendi - Did not miss a beat when filling in for Alonso in the latter stages of the game.

Jesé Rodríguez - Did not have much time on the ball to affect play.

Juventus grateful to Mancini
as Galatasaray blow their big chance

The Bianconeri went a fourth game without victory after squandering the lead

COMMENT
By Kris Voakes

Juventus have still not won a game in the Champions League since seeing off Celtic in the last 16 of last season’s competition back in March. And yet eight months and six games on from that 2-0 second leg victory, they are clear favourites to qualify from Group B in second place and again reach the knockout stage. It doesn’t always turn out this well.

http://markting10.nl/

Tuesday’s 2-2 draw against Real Madrid looked decent enough in and of itself, but it was a scoreline which would have left them staring at the prospect of having to win both of their remaining group fixtures in order to progress were it not for Copenhagen’s shock 1-0 victory over Galatasaray at the Parken Stadion.

Thanks to the Danes’ win, the Bianconeri know that a victory at home to Stale Solbakken’s side in three weeks’ time will more than likely leave them needing just a draw in Turkey in their closing game in order to qualify for the last 16. In a competition in which 10 points is often considered the minimum target, Juve could still get away with only notching seven.

That they are still even mathematically in with any chance is a stroke of pure fortune. Yes, they have played well for large periods of their two clashes with Madrid, but it is only thanks to the convincing fashion in which the Spanish giants have polished off Copenhagen and Galatasary before now that Juve are in such a positive position.

http://markting10.nl/

Their third point of the group campaign came thanks to a Fernando Llorente equaliser after they had somehow managed to throw away a 1-0 lead garnered through hard work and great vigilance. Arturo Vidal’s penalty – awarded for Raphael Varane’s rash challenge on Paul Pogba – was a worthy advantage, yet all it took was two individual errors for the Italians to find themselves behind.

First Martin Caceres tried a criminal pass across the face of his defence which allowed Karim Benzema to slip in Cristiano Ronaldo, then Kwadwo Asamoah’s inexperience as a left-back was exposed by a great piece of footwork from Gareth Bale, with the Welshman slotting home confidently to put Madrid ahead.

Varane was again caught out when he turned his back on a Caceres cross, with Llorente making him pay, but by that point it was Galatasaray’s failures which were promising to be the most important of the night.

http://markting10.nl/

After conceding a wonderful early goal to Daniel Braaten, Roberto Mancini’s men simply never got going. Half-chances were made and wasted, but they rarely looked likely to come up with an equaliser, let alone a winner.

In their 2-2 draw at Juventus Stadium and then the comfortable home win against FCK, Gala looked more than capable of making Juve’s life hard in the race for qualification. But after their horror show in Copenhagen they will need to beat Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabeu if they are not to hand the advantage to the Bianconeri ahead of the crucial matchday six clash at the Turk Telecom Arena.

Juve should be counting themselves very, very lucky. Plenty of teams have failed to reach the last 16 of the Champions League despite collecting 10 group points. The Italian champions cannot now achieve double figures and yet are set fair for qualification. That’s just the way it happens sometimes.

http://markting10.nl/

Question marks remain over whether this Juventus side are good enough to truly challenge in Europe. Tuesday’s game gave us nothing in the way of answers, and there’s a fair chance that Antonio Conte’s side will head to the last 16 without even coming close to delivering a riposte of any sort.

After starting badly last year they had to really get their hands dirty and were rewarded with the top spot in the group. This time around, the path looks likely to be a hell of a lot easier.

Conte: Juventus are stronger after Real Madrid draw

The Italian champions are bottom of Group B following their 2-2 tie with los Blancos
on Tuesday but the former midfielder maintains their qualification is in their hands.

2prh7rl.jpg

Nov 5, 2013

Antonio Conte believes Juventus have been made stronger by their 2-2 draw with Real Madrid on Tuesday and is confident they can still qualify for the last 16.

Arturo Vidal put Juve ahead from the spot shortly before half-time, but Real hit back seven minutes after the break through Cristiano Ronaldo.

http://markting10.nl/

Gareth Bale then put the Spanish side ahead on the hour mark before Fernando Llorente salvaged a point for the Serie A champions.

The result leaves Juve propping up their group with just three points and no wins, but Conte insists that the competition is not over for his side.

"We can play at their (Real's) level, which we had already proved in Madrid two weeks ago," said the Juve coach. "We will still have something to say in this competition.

http://markting10.nl/

"We feel stronger after this game, and we know what we do on the pitch decides who is going to win or lose, it's up to us."

Goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon feels the Italians should be proud of their point but admits qualification from Group B is now an uphill task.

"It's no disgrace to drop points against a big team like Real Madrid," he said. "They have great individual quality, wonderful strikers and every time they get near the goal you can feel the pressure rising.

http://markting10.nl/

"It won't be easy for us now. but we'll do what we can to qualify."

The veteran goalkeeper reserved special praise for his opposite number, Iker Casillas, who made a string of crucial saves as he was restored to the first team.

"Iker Casillas did really well," he continued. "His saves helped his team to get a draw."

“This is following on from the results we achieved last season, but unfortunately these aren’t the points we dropped,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“You can win, draw or lose against Real Madrid, but the quality of their individuals in attack is impressive. They always make you apprehensive every time they go past midfield, as you know they can create something out of nothing.”

Buffon exchanged jerseys with Casillas at the final whistle and the Spaniard was perhaps Man of the Match.

http://markting10.nl/

“Casillas performed three truly important saves that in the end proved decisive for them to bring home a point.

“How would I rate tonight’s performance? Seven out of 10.”

http://markting10.nl/

Copenhagen beat Galatasaray 1-0 in Denmark, so those two sides are level on four points with Juventus last on three. This result opens up qualification from Group B, as it’s all very tight behind Real.

“I don’t know, as if they won then it means they’re no pushovers and we have to do our duty at home. Galatasaray are going to Madrid and they’re not beaten on paper either.”

Asamoah: 'Tough with Ronaldo and Bale'

Kwadwo Asamoah admits “it was tough” to become a defender against Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

“We did well tonight against a great team. It wasn’t easy, but we did the right things,” he told Sky Sport Italia after a 2-2 draw between Juventus and Real Madrid.

http://markting10.nl/

Angelo Ogbonna had been expected to start, but Antonio Conte chose Asamoah instead for that role.

“It was tough against players like Ronaldo and Bale, with such pace and technique, but I did what I had to.

http://markting10.nl/

“I saw that when Carlos Tevez cut in, there was space for me to push forward, so we could create some chances.”

Conte: 'Juve fortified by Real draw'

Antonio Conte is confident Juventus “emerge fortified” from their 2-2 draw with Real Madrid.

Nov 5, 2013

“I’d rate our performance very highly. The team did very well and the first half was perfect in every respect, organisation, quality and intensity,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

http://markting10.nl/

“In the second half we suffered a little at keeping that tempo with such a packed fixture list. When the intensity drops against Real Madrid, you inevitably risk paying the price, especially when Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are running at you on the counter.

“Iker Casillas was Man of the Match in my view and saved Real Madrid on several occasions.”

Copenhagen beat Galatasaray 1-0 this evening, so in theory Juventus could qualify if they beat the Danes and earn a draw in Istanbul.

http://markting10.nl/

“We have absolutely made a step forward and are obliged to beat Copenhagen. In my view, we have picked up far fewer points than we deserved to in this group. Tonight the draw could’ve been a win, but Real Madrid are an Armada with players who can change the game at any moment.

“What satisfies me the most is the hunger these players put on to the field and the way they faced Real Madrid openly. We weren’t nervous or too respectful and that is how it should be for us to grow in the Champions League.

“We proved on the pitch that the difference in economic strength between the clubs was really not that visible.

http://markting10.nl/

“We reached the Champions League quarter-finals last season and are still alive now, which is what counts. We need to continue playing with this intensity against anyone, including Real Madrid.

“After last year’s valuable experience, I am convinced that if we get through the group phase then we can have our say in the Champions League. We have a gap with European powerhouses like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, particularly one of experience.

“We emerge fortified from this match. We have to realise that regardless of the financial situation, we do our talking on the pitch.”

Ancelotti: 'Juve caused us problems'

Carlo Ancelotti reveals Juventus forced Real Madrid to make adjustments and is confident they’ll qualify.

Nov 5, 2013

“We defended too deep in the first half, as Paul Pogba and Claudio Marchisio’s positions were causing us a few problems,” he told Sky Sport Italia after a 2-2 draw in Turin.

http://markting10.nl/

“We didn’t pressure them in midfield, but changed that at half-time and it went much better.

“We are improving, even if there are still amnesias in defence and at times we lose our balance, but the second half was good.”

Ancelotti is confident Juve will get through to the knockouts after Galatasaray lost in Copenhagen. This leaves Galatasaray and Copenhagen on four points with the Bianconeri on three.

http://markting10.nl/

Juve would therefore qualify if they beat Copenhagen in Turin and earned a point in Istanbul, as long as Real Madrid defeated Galatasaray.

“Juventus will certainly qualify, even if it’s not easy to get a point in Turkey, but they have more quality than Galatasaray.

“There is only one path at the Bernabeu and that’s for a Real Madrid victory!”

Llorente: 'Happy with Real goal'

2u581p0.jpg

Nov 5, 2013

Fernando Llorente was “very happy to have again scored past Real Madrid,” earning Juventus a 2-2 draw.

http://markting10.nl/

The Spaniard had also found the net at the Bernabeu in their 2-1 Champions League defeat last month.

“I am very happy to have again scored past Real Madrid. We played the first half very well and played good football, taking a deserved lead,” Llorente told Sky Sport Italia.

“It was tougher after the break, as Real Madrid kept possession better and we were chasing the ball, especially with players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

http://markting10.nl/

“We are working on service and my teammates are getting to know me, so the more we play together the better it will be. I’m sure the crosses will come in better as time goes on.

“I think I can still give a lot more, gain more confidence and settle in, as I haven’t been here for long. I can help this team and hope every game can be an improvement for me.

“I do need to be more determined in front of goal, that’s something I’m working on and always think about in the box.”

Pogba: 'I saw Varane'

2zgge53.jpg

Nov 5, 2013

Paul Pogba explained what happened when he earned Juventus’ penalty against Real Madrid. “I saw him sliding in.”

http://markting10.nl/

The French midfielder won the spot-kick, converted by Arturo Vidal, when he was brought down by his fellow countryman and friend Raphael Varane.

“I saw him sliding in, but I moved the ball and felt him hit me,” Pogba told Sky Sport Italia after the 2-2 draw.

“We put in a good performance, especially in the first half, and we did want to start strong. We were facing a great team and saw that the moment we make one mistake, they hit us with pace.”

http://markting10.nl/

Copenhagen beat Galatasaray 1-0, which leaves those teams on four points and Juve last on three.

However, it’s still a positive situation, because the Bianconeri could qualify by beating Copenhagen in Turin and earning a draw in Istanbul.

http://markting10.nl/

“We have to think about ourselves, focus on winning and only afterwards see what the other teams have done.

“Juve are Juve, so as a great team everyone should be afraid of facing us. We have to prove that we’re strong and that we can win.”

Casillas 'happy with Real point'

2rr9zzb.jpg

Nov 5, 2013

Iker Casillas couldn’t help but be “happy” with Real Madrid’s 2-2 draw with Juventus after a series of crucial saves.

http://markting10.nl/

“I’m very happy,” he told reporters. “It’s always difficult to play in these type of games.”

Casillas has become the Champions League goalkeeper, whereas Diego Lopez takes the gloves in La Liga encounters.

“You have to be at your very best if the Coach is to trust you. I only play once every two weeks.”

http://markting10.nl/

Real Madrid aren’t qualified yet, as Juve ended their 100 per cent record in Group B.

“We are doing very well, 10 points out of 12 is good,” smiled the goalkeper.

Ronaldo: Juventus will qualify

29qo9wn.jpg

Nov 6, 2013

Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo expects winless Juventus to qualify from their Champions League group.

http://markting10.nl/

The Old Lady are bottom of their section after collecting just three points from four games, but the Portuguese wizard insists the Old Lady are still alive.

“Juventus are a very strong team,” the former Manchester United man noted. “They are certainly competitive and I think they’ll qualify in second from the group.”

The Turin giants will entertain Copenhagen and travel to Galatasaray in their last two games.

http://markting10.nl/

Ronaldo was again on target last night as his eighth Champions League goal of the season helped Madrid collect a 2-2 draw at Juve.

“I am happy with my eight goals, but will try to score more,” he added. “We are almost through, we need another point but it is almost done and we are happy.

“In the first we didn’t play very well, we were very defensive. Then the Coach told us we had to attack, we had to use the flanks and that is what we did and it worked.”
