Ventura: 'Toro deserved derby draw'

m7fkn6.jpg

Feb 23, 2014

Giampiero Ventura felt Torino deserved a draw against Juventus and would’ve had it with a late penalty.

http://markting10.nl/

“It is rare to see Juventus struggle so much in this stadium, as they put three goals past Milan, Roma and Inter here,” he told Sky Sport Italia after a 1-0 result.

“In the second half they barely had a shot on goal. There are regrets, as with a little more character we could’ve made more of our chances.”

Omar El Kaddouri appeared to be tripped by Andrea Pirlo in the final minutes, but the referee waved play on.

http://markting10.nl/

“Last season we conceded at the last minute, then earlier this term we lost to a goal that was offside. Now they tell me Vidal should’ve had a second yellow for handball. Seeing the footage now, I can say they were right, it was a penalty on El Kaddouri.

“That’s not the point, as Toro have improved and showed they were willing to come here and play football, not just defend. We probably deserved a point, but the derby was always going to be a stepping stone in our growth process.”

Ventura was asked why Torino appeared to be sitting back for much of the second half before pouring forward in the final half-hour.

http://markting10.nl/

“We had planned to leave certain spaces so that we could then go three-against-three on the counter, which we should’ve made more of.

“Unfortunately the goal came from a ball that slipped through a tiny gap, but these things can happen. We had decided beforehand to force the situation if we were trailing in the final 30 minutes based on our fitness conditions, as we couldn’t play at that tempo for 90.

http://markting10.nl/

“It’s a shame looking back over the footage, as we could’ve equalised with that penalty and nobody could’ve complained. With no controversy, as Juventus are the strongest team in Serie A who play the best football, but over the last three derbies there have been incidents against us. There was the Jonathas incident, then an offside goal and now a penalty when we would’ve deserved a draw.

“The results speak for Antonio Conte, he’s doing a great job and, considering our dimension in Serie A, we are doing very well too.”

Holy della Mole!

A flash of genius, puzzling tactics and a dash of refereeing controversy made for an intriguing
Turin derby. Giancarlo Rinaldi examines events in the Juventus Stadium.

2wqycy9.jpg

Feb 23, 2014

This time there was no need to take to Twitter to show off his post-match injuries. Carlitos Tevez did his talking on the pitch in the Turin derby with a strike worthy of winning any match. In the process, he joined Giuseppe Rossi at the top of the goalscoring charts while cementing Juve’s seat at the head of the Serie A table.

http://markting10.nl/

Yet this Derby della Mole was a curious game in many aspects. The Bianconeri had a couple of scares early on before turning up the temperature to really start grilling the Granata. It served up one searing strike from their South American hitman and an emphatic victory seemed to be the only possible outcome on the menu.

But the second half dished up radically different fare. After 15 minutes of bland produce from both sides, Toro suddenly decided to take a gamble and throw all their spicy attacking options into the pot. It was almost too tasty for the home team to handle.

Two decisions from referee Nicola Rizzoli left a particularly bitter taste for Granata fans. The first was not to book Arturo Vidal for a handball offence when he had already received a yellow card. The second was to caution Omar El Kaddouri for a dive in the penalty box when replays showed contact with Andrea Pirlo. Boss Giampiero Ventura faced his post-match interviews with a mixture of pride and regret.

http://markting10.nl/

“We couldn’t have forced the play like we did in the last half hour for the whole game,” he insisted. “But it’s rare to see Juventus in such difficulty in the Juventus Stadium. After the first 15 minutes of the second half, they didn’t manage a shot on goal. If Rizzoli had seen the penalty, maybe we would have had an even better result.”

“From the replays, you can see he touched me,” added a disappointed El Kaddouri. “I think it was a clear penalty.”

http://markting10.nl/

Antonio Conte, shown the incident, had a slightly different view. “Anything could have happened,” he claimed. “He could have booked El Kaddouri or he could have given the penalty.” And, in fairness, the attacking-midfielder’s fall did seem to have some time delay after the initial contact. That won’t, of course, be any consolation for Toro fans who had reason for recrimination at the final whistle.

“These are tough games,” admitted Coach Conte. “Torino had nothing to lose - they are already safe and, along with Verona, they are the real revelations of the season. We tried to give them little chance to break. With Alessio Cerci, Ciro Immobile and El Kaddouri, they can hurt anyone.”

Agnelli condemns Superga references

5b9vs1.jpg

Feb 24, 2014

Andrea Agnelli has issued a brief statement in reaction to Juventus fans displaying banners referencing the Superga tragedy during the Turin derby.

http://markting10.nl/

During yesterday’s 1-0 win over city rivals Torino, Bianconero supporters displayed two banners making light of the 1949 Superga air disaster which killed 31 people including 18 Torino players.

“Tragedies are not to be touched upon,” Juve President Andrea Agnelli has responded, through a quote posted on the club’s official Twitter account.

http://markting10.nl/

“Never. No to the banners and the rogue chants. Everything.”

The Old Lady reportedly could face a fine and partial stadium closure as punishment for the banners.

Toro players mock Juve's '12th man' .oddio

vhaqrt.jpg

Feb 24, 2014

Torino player Riccardo Meggiorini mocked Juventus for their “12th man” – the referee – after the Derby della Mole.

http://markting10.nl/

The Granata lost 1-0 on Sunday and were furious that Omar El Kaddouri was denied a penalty in the closing minutes, while Arturo Vidal twice risked a second yellow card.

“Juve’s strength is the so-called 12th man on the field...” wrote Meggiorini on Twitter, referring to an old football cliché about the crowd.

http://markting10.nl/

“It’s on the field, though, because it’s certainly not the Juve fans!”

Teammate Kamil Glik also tweeted a photograph of the moment Andrea Pirlo tripped El Kaddouri in the penalty area.

Ref: 'Juve-Toro penalty only on TV'

Feb 24, 2014

Refereeing designator Stefano Braschi insists “you could only tell it was a penalty via the television camera” in Juventus-Torino.

http://markting10.nl/

Nicola Rizzoli is under a great deal of pressure after his performance in the game on Sunday, which saw Juventus beat Torino 1-0.

Omar El Kaddouri was tripped by Andrea Pirlo in the final minutes, but he was only booked for dissent.

“You could not see the incident from the pitch,” insisted refereeing designator Braschi.

http://markting10.nl/

“Even Giampiero Ventura only realised what had happened when watching back the footage at the end of the game.

“You could only tell it was a penalty via the images of a television camera.”

This caused particular controversy because the referee had a very clear view of the contact between the players.

http://markting10.nl/

“Rizzoli was in a good position, just like his goalline assistant Calvarese,” continued Braschi.

“TV evidence can only help in occasions where it’s not clear if the ball crossed the line or if a foul was committed inside or outside the penalty area.

“On the field, all other decisions are down to the referee. Even then, he cannot see certain situations.”

Juventus fined €25,000 over Superga banners

The Turin club have been punished after it was adjudged that fans had mocked an air
disaster that killed 18 Torino players in their 1-0 win over their derby rivals on Sunday.

Feb 25, 2014

Juventus have been fined €25,000 after their fans displayed banners referencing the Superga air disaster in Sunday's 1-0 win over Torino.

http://markting10.nl/

Carlos Tevez scored the only goal of the encounter after 30 minutes at Juventus Stadium, but a section of home fans caused controversy when they appeared to mock the 1949 crash, which killed 18 members of the Torino squad, along with club officials and journalists.

Reports suggested that Juve could be hit with a partial stadium closure, but their punishment has been restricted to a one-off financial penalty.

The Lega Serie A judgement alleged that fans "displayed two banners insulting the memory of the tragedy of Superga".

http://markting10.nl/

Juve were fined €10,000 for a similar incident in 2012, and president Andrea Agnelli warned supporters over their conduct on Monday.

"Tragedies are not to be touched upon," he said in a statement on the club's official Twitter account. "No more vile chants or banners. From anyone."

Mandirali belives in beating Juve .penso

Feb 26, 2014

Trabzonspor boss Hami Mandirali has claimed that ‘anything can happen in football’ as his men prepare to host Juventus.

http://markting10.nl/

The Turkish side play the Bianconeri in their Europa League Last 32 second leg clash tomorrow, looking to overturn a 2-0 deficit.

However, the Coach has insisted that his men can beat the Old Lady and progress to the next round.

“We have to rekindle some passion,” he told Fanatik. “And hopefully that can drag us through against Juventus.

http://markting10.nl/

“The recent past has shown that anything can, and will, happen in football if you try hard enough.

“We’re going to fight until there’s no hope for us left. We want to get into the next round, and we believe we can.”

Juventus name squad for Trabzonspor

Feb 26, 2014

Juventus have named a 20 man squad as they head out to Turkey for the second leg of their Europa League tie with Trabzonspor.

http://markting10.nl/

The Old Lady hold a two goal lead from the first leg at Juventus Stadium and will be big favourites to close out the tie on Thursday evening.

Giorgio Chiellini returns to the squad but Kwadwo Asamoah, Pepe and Mirko Vucinic all miss out through injury.

http://markting10.nl/

Fabio Quagliarella meanwhile cannot be included as he was not submitted on Coach Antonio Conte’s European list in January, and is therefore ineligible.

Juventus squad: Buffon, Chiellini, Cacares, Ogbonna, Pogba, Marchisio, Tevez, Giovinco, Peluso, Llorente, Barzagli, Osvaldo, Bonucci, Padoin, Pirlo, Vidal, Lichsteiner, Storari, Isla, Rubinho

Mandirali: 'Trabzonspor had valid goal' mh

Feb 26, 2014

Trabzonspor manager Hami Mandirali insists his team scored “a valid goal” in the first leg against Juventus.

http://markting10.nl/

The second leg of their Europa League Round of 32 kicks off on Thursday at 21.05 CET and the Bianconeri have a 2-0 lead to defend.

“Looking back at the game we played in Turin, I’d say we lost 2-0 thanks also to bad luck,” said Mandirali in his Press conference.

“We played a good second half and, despite the defeat, we had an attacking style of football. We had also scored a valid goal, so it’s a shame that wasn’t awarded.”

http://markting10.nl/

The ball was put into the net, but the officials ruled it had already gone out of play before the cross came in. Replays are inconclusive.

The Coach was asked whether he expected a more favourable refereeing approach on home turf.

“I do not interfere with the work of the referees. I will only repeat that the goal we scored in Turin was valid.

http://markting10.nl/

“Now we ask our fans for a big hand and will do everything to get through this round. We will play Juventus the same way we faced them in the second half in Turin.

“If we are able to repeat that performance and score a goal in the first half, then we can do it. Antonio Conte has some of the best players in the world at his disposal, but I think very highly of mine.

http://markting10.nl/

“One thing is for sure, our philosophy is always to attack. Juve are certainly strong, but don’t forget we put three past Lazio in half an hour.”

Trabzonspor topped Group J ahead of Lazio after a 3-3 draw in Turkey and a 0-0 result at the Stadio Olimpico.

Conte: 'Juve take game to Trabzonspor'

Feb 26, 2014

Antonio Conte assures Juventus are “prepared” for the Trabzonspor atmosphere and “are not coming to defend a 2-0 lead.”

http://markting10.nl/

The second leg of this Europa League Round of 32 kicks off in Turkey at 21.05 CET on Thursday, following on from the 2-0 result in Turin.

“We will try to take the initiative,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We are facing a team that above all in attack has great quality. In any case, we are not coming to Turkey in order to defend a 2-0 lead, because scoring a goal here would practically secure our qualification for the next round.

http://markting10.nl/

“The 2-0 from the first leg is certainly an excellent result, as it’s very important to win at home without conceding. This can be to our advantage.

“However, we are facing a side pushed forward by 25,000 fans. There is going to be a fiery atmosphere, but we are prepared and have the utmost respect for this team. It’s not the first time we have faced a game like this.”

Juventus were knocked out of the Champions League with a surprise 1-0 defeat to Galatasaray in December, so will be hoping not to suffer another Turkish elimination.

http://markting10.nl/

Daniel Osvaldo scored in the first leg and is likely to start again tomorrow, as Conte rotates his squad ahead of Sunday’s Serie A clash with Milan.

“We are facing the Europa League with a great deal of enthusiasm and I include the whole squad. You saw how many games await us in the next few weeks.

“In the first leg the players who haven’t had as much room did well, but tomorrow I expect them to do even better. If we do well, then we will continue in the competition, but I do admit I have to rotate the squad, otherwise we run huge risks.

http://markting10.nl/

“These games are also valuable, as they give the players more European experience. Some people forget our European adventure only began last season. It’ll be tougher than in Italy, so we require a lot of patience and hard work.”

Following the controversy over the Turin Derby, Conte was also asked about referees.

“Last year after the Genoa game I really didn’t like myself and the way I behaved. I apologised and since then have changed my attitude. Italian referees are the best in the world and we must respect what they do. I am telling you this as someone who made a huge mistake and changed his ways.”

Buffon: 'We take Europa seriously'

Feb 26, 2014

Gianluigi Buffon insisted Juventus are “taking the Europa League seriously” and condemned Superga banners.

http://markting10.nl/

The Bianconeri won the first leg against Trabzonspor 2-0 and play in Turkey on Thursday evening.

“Of course we are taking the Europa League serious. We can achieve some important things and at the end of the day you can never win too much,” said the goalkeeper in his Press conference.

“If we go forward, it would also allow us to gain confidence and guarantees that at times we have been lacking at this level.

http://markting10.nl/

“Trabzonspor goalkeeper Onur Kivrak often puts in a series of great performances and shows how brave he can be when coming out, while he also starts moves from the back. He is one of their main strengths.

“Our fans showed in the first leg how much they cared about this trophy with a response that sometimes we haven’t even had in certain Champions League games.

“That means the same winning mentality the Coach has drilled into us also now belongs to the fans. It needs a little more humility to get back into Europe’s football elite and the supporters showed us they are standing right behind us even if we’re not in the Champions League.”

http://markting10.nl/

However, Buffon had harsh words for those ultras who held up banners mocking the Superga tragedy during the Turin Derby.

“Respect must be total. It’s ‘rest in peace,’ so let’s try at least not to annoy the dead. If we are to improve the sporting spirit in Italy, then we’ve got to get respect into people’s heads.”

Trabzonspor-Juventus Preview:
Bianconeri take two-goal lead to Turkey

Pablo Osvaldo and Paul Pogba have put the Italian champions within touching distance
of the last 16 but the Super Lig outfit will take heart from their performance in Turin.

Feb 26, 2014

History is very much against Trabzonspor as they seek to overturn a first-leg deficit and knock Juventus out of the Europa League.

http://markting10.nl/

The Super Lig side, still acclimatising to life under new boss Hami Mandirali, will begin the second leg of their round-of-32 tie trailing 2-0 following goals from Pablo Daniel Osvaldo and Paul Pogba in Turin last week.

Trabzonspor have not beaten a Serie A side at home since 1982 and will have to better the 1-0 scoreline recorded on that occasion in a UEFA Cup first-round victory over Inter.

However, Turkey does not exactly hold pleasant recent memories for Juventus, as it was a 1-0 defeat to Galatasaray that dumped the Italian club into the Europa League during the final round of Champions League group matches in December.

http://markting10.nl/

Additionally, Trabzonspor have an impressive continental record at the Huseyin Avni Aker Stadium.

They are unbeaten in seven matches on home turf in Europe and had not lost in 12 UEFA games this term until they ran into Antonio Conte’s men - who are without a victory in their last four European away trips, losing three of those games.

Nevertheless, the Bianconeri remain firm favourites and have the considerable carrot of this season's Europa League final being staged at the Juventus Stadium.

http://markting10.nl/

If that were not enough, a spicy tie with domestic rivals Fiorentina appears to be in store for the round of 16, with the latter having taken a 3-1 advantage over Esbjerg back to Florence.

Despite his team's encouraging position, Conte has spoken of the need for Juventus to deliver an improved performance at both ends of the field in the second leg.

Yet it remains to be seen whether the former midfielder will opt to field a full-strength side against Trabzonspor, given that a glamorous Serie A fixture at Milan awaits on Sunday.

http://markting10.nl/

While Juventus hold a healthy advantage in their domestic league, having dropped only nine points all season, Trabzonspor have not been able to enjoy similar success.

Mandirali's men lie seventh in the Super Lig, 15 points behind leaders Fenerbahce, and face a battle to secure European football for next season.

Indeed, the appointment of Mandirali owed much to Trabzonspor's poor form as he stepped up from his role as assistant following Mustafa Akcay's resignation earlier this month.

Conte: Juventus going to attack in Trabzonspor

Ahead of their Europa League round-of-32 second-leg clash with the Turks,
the Bianconeri coach says his team will play to score an away goal.

Feb 26, 2014

Antonio Conte insists Juventus will not sit back and defend their 2-0 first-leg lead against Trabzonspor.

http://markting10.nl/

The Bianconeri have the advantage courtesy of strikes from Dani Osvaldo and Paul Pogba in the Europa League round-of-32 clash.

The Juve coach spoke of the value of an away goal, stating his side will be proactive in their approach and alluded to their 1-0 defeat to Galatasaray in the Champions League as an example of what to expect in Turkey.

"We are not coming to Turkey in order to defend a 2-0 lead because scoring a goal here would practically secure our qualification for the next round," he told reporters on Wednesday.

http://markting10.nl/

"The 2-0 from the first leg is certainly an excellent result, as it’s very important to win at home without conceding. This can be to our advantage.

"However, we are facing a side pushed forward by 25,000 fans. There is going to be a fiery atmosphere, but we are prepared and have the utmost respect for this team. It’s not the first time we have faced a game like this."

The Juve coach made some changes for the first-leg clash in the hope of keeping his side fresh for the remainder of the campaign and he hinted at more of the same on Thursday.

http://markting10.nl/

"In the first leg the players who haven’t had as much playing time did well, but tomorrow I expect them to do even better," he continued.

"If we do well, then we will continue in the competition, but I do admit I have to rotate the squad, otherwise we run huge risks.

"These games are also valuable, as they give the players more European experience. Some people forget our European adventure only began last season. It’ll be tougher than in Italy, so we require a lot of patience and hard work."

Terim: Juve must focus on Europe

Feb 27, 2014

Fatih Terim has warned Juventus that they need to switch their mentality for next season or else fall short in the Champions League once again.

http://markting10.nl/

The Bianconeri are comfortable out in front in Serie A and on course for a third consecutive Scudetto, but are competing in the Europa League for the second half of this season after elimination at the group stage of UEFA’s premier competition.

That elimination came at the benefit of Terim’s former side Galatasaray, and a result secured in a final group match between the two teams played over two days due to difficult weather.

“I did not understand the protests of the Bianconeri. Juve had drawn with Galatasaray in Turin,” began Terim to the giornalaccio rosa dello Sport, before reflecting on why the Old Lady may have fallen short.

http://markting10.nl/

“Juve in the Champions League are a different team, they lose value. The Bianconeri are in love with the idea of the Scudetto. In that they are different to Milan, who start every year with the goal of winning in Europe.

“But, after winning a third title, next year Buffon and his teammates must put the Cup at the centre of their thoughts.

“Only in this way can they win the Champions League. For the Champions League, you must give up something.”

http://markting10.nl/

According to the former Fiorentina and Milan Coach, though, Juve remain a capable outfit.

“Pirlo is calcio, Buffon is a goalkeeper who is the strongest in the world, Chiellini is my prototype of a defender, Tevez is a warrior and Vidal is a phenomenon. I like Vucinic, even though he has played little.

“And this explains why Juve are strong. It means that Conte has available to him players of world value.

http://markting10.nl/

“They say that Conte is not nice. But I appreciate winning coaches, not cute coaches. And Conte is a winner.”

Antonio Conte’s side are in Turkey today for the second leg of their Europa League Round of 32 clash with Trabzonspor.

“In the first leg it should have ended 1-1. With a two-goal advantage, Juve have progression in hand, but they need to be careful.

http://markting10.nl/

“Trabzonspor will have a strong atmosphere, and if they get a goal early on then qualification will be in the balance.”

Should Juve make it through, they could meet Fiorentina in the Last 16.

“I want to be at the Artemio Franchi for the second leg. I’m looking at my calendar to see if I can come for a couple of days.

http://markting10.nl/

“With a true Gomez, Fiorentina can move ahead. Montella is a very good Coach, he teaches a football that I like.

“Fiorentina-Juve is a derby, and the strongest team does not always win. Sometimes the heart wins. Fiorentina with 40,000 fans at the Franchi, anything can happen.”

TRABZONSPOR VS JUVENTUS
EUROPA LEAGUE MATCH PREVIEW

Feb 27, 2014

Juventus are confidently preparing for their game in Turkey against Trabzonspor, as they can afford to focus on continental competition following their strong position in Serie A.

http://markting10.nl/

The Europa League Final is held at Juventus's Stadium in May, and is an occasion that the visiting side will be desperate not to miss, as a way to compensate for their disappointing showing in the Champions League group stages.

With a two-goal advantage, coach Antonio Conte could opt to rotate a strong squad, and a single away goal will surely kill off the tie, with the Turkish challengers then needing four goals to proceed.

One of four Italian sides in this year's competition, Juventus have rightly been installed as the favourites for the trophy. Trabzonspor were an outsiders' bet before the first leg and their odds would have lengthened even further now, a miracle is needed to carry them to glory.

http://markting10.nl/

Managerless Trabzonspor lie a dismal seventh in the Turkish Super Lig, and have not beaten a Serie A side in over 30 years. Former Premier League players Florent Malouda, Jose Bosingwa and Didier Zokora are all enjoying their wage packets over in Trabzon, but their qualities have clearly not been effective this season.

Slim hope comes in the way of a possible Juventus distraction. Juventus play resurgent AC Milan in the league at the weekend, but Juventus will hope to have this one secured by a convincing scoreline by 90 minutes.

http://markting10.nl/

Possible Line-Ups:

Trabzonspor: Kivrak; Demir, Bosingwa, Keles, Yumlu; Adin, Hurmaci, Colman, Mierzejewski; Bourceanu; Gural

Juventus: Buffon; Bonucci, Ogbonna, Barzagli; Lichtsteiner, Marchisio, Pogba, Isla; Padoin; Osvaldo, Llorente

Author's Prediction: Trabzonspor 1-3 Juventus

Antonio Conte: 'Trabzonspor trip won't be easy'

Feb 27, 2014

Juventus head coach Antonio Conte has insisted that his side's trip to Turkey to take on Trabzonspor in the second leg of their Europa League last 32 clash will not be easy, despite the 2-0 lead they hold from last week's game.

http://markting10.nl/

Conte said that it will be a different game entirely with the passionate home supporters behind their team, but he said that the players must keep faith with their ability.

"Tonight will not be easy for us," he told Corriere dello Sport. "The 2-0 is a good result, especially because we did not concede a goal.

http://markting10.nl/

"Now we have a small advantage over them but we know that we will face a team that will be spurred on by 25,000 fans. However, we are prepared to meet this challenge and succeed. We have sufficient experience to handle these fierce environments."

On-loan striker Pablo Osvaldo scored his first goal for Juve in the home win.

Trabzonspor vs. Juventus Preview

Feb 27, 2014

Juventus are in a strong position to progress in the Europa League.

http://markting10.nl/

Already nine points clear at the top of Serie A, Antonio Conte's side look certain to win their third straight Scudetto, and can begin to take their foot off the gas and switch their attention to other matters.

The Europa League final is being held at their Juventus Stadium this season, giving them added incentive to reach it.

And with the option of changing players in a strong squad, as well as a two-goal advantage, Juve look a good bet to knock out Trabzonspor.

http://markting10.nl/

That said, Italian football expert James Horncastle believes continued participation in the Europa League could lead to Juventus tiring and their form in Serie A or Europa dropping as a result:

James Horncastle @JamesHorncastle
@JulianDM11 @Adz77 EL scheduling is ridic. Juve play back to back vs Trabzon. CL teams get 3 wk break between legs.

http://markting10.nl/

Preview

Juve's failure to thrive in the Champions League this season was something of a surprise; they exited the competition at the group stage.

After dominating the domestic game with ease, something which looks like it won't be stopping anytime soon, it was easy to predict Juventus focusing on Europe a bit more, but that didn't materialise.

Now, though, they look to be one of the strongest sides, if not the strongest in the Europa League, and are one of four Italian sides in the competition alongside Lazio, Fiorentina and Napoli.

http://markting10.nl/

Meanwhile, Trabzonspor, who lay seventh in the Turkish Super Lig and 15 points behind league leaders Fenerbahce, should not present too much of a problem if their domestic form is anything to go by.

As reported by Soccerway, Trabzonspor have not beaten a side from the Italian top flight since 1982. However, they are unbeaten in seven home games.

Their squad includes some recognisable names though, with former Champions League winners Florent Malouda and Jose Bosingwa and also former Tottenham midfielder Didier Zokora in their number.

http://markting10.nl/

Prediction

Juventus, even if they do make changes, will be confident they have enough to see out this victory and continue their European adventure.

The depth of talent at Conte's disposal is breathtaking, with Gianluigi Buffon, Paul Pogba, Carlos Tevez, Fernando Llorente, Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal just some of the names in his star-studded squad.

It is the prospect of changes, though, that gives Trabzonspor a slim chance. Juve face AC Milan in Serie A this weekend, and if they are distracted by that fixture then there could yet be a way back for Hami Mandirali's side.

Europa Updates: More Turnover, Osvaldo-Giovinco Up Front

Feb 27, 2014

With another punishing two-matches-in-four-days stretch starting on Thursday, Antonio Conte plans on using his available resources wisely this week.

http://markting10.nl/

Giorgio Chiellini is close to returning to action, but it won’t be against Trabzonspor; Juve will keep him at home for the trip to Turkey to get him ready for the relatively more important match at Milan. Meanwhile, Andrea Barzagli, who returned to the lineup for the Turin Derby, is likely to be rested for the same reason, though he’ll be on the bench on Thursday. That means that the formerly “makeshift” defensive trio of Martin Caceres, Leonardo Bonucci and Angelo Ogbonna will once again shield Gigi Buffon.

The top story in central midfield is that Arturo Vidal is suspended for the Milan match, having received his telltale yellow card against Torino. That has potentially huge implications for Milan, but the upshot is that he’s free to start against Trabzonspor.

If Conte sticks to his usual patterns, one of Andrea Pirlo, Claudio Marchisio or Paul Pogba will be rested on Thursday — thankfully, reports from Sky Sport Italia are indicating that it will be Pirlo. Not only does the slower pace of Serie A suit Andrea infinitely better than that of European competition, but again, Milan is more important this week, and Claudio and Paul are younger and thus fresher. Plus, Milan are Pirlo’s former club, and he scored against them last time, so resting him on Thursday makes a lot of thematic/motivational sense. There’s also an outside chance that Simone Padoin could start in central midfield, but it is believed Conte is loath to shake things up that much.

http://markting10.nl/

The good news on the wings is that Stephan Lichtsteiner and Kwadwo Asamoah will be rested, which means Mauricio Isla and Federico Peluso will take their places on the respective right and left flanks. The bad news is twofold. First, Asamoah will not even make the squad list with what is listed as “fatigue,” and he might even be unavailable for Milan. Second, we all have seen that the drop-off in quality behind Lichtsteiner and Asamoah is considerable, especially on the offensive end. Fortunately, with a two-goal lead, Juve can afford to sit back a bit, provided they quickly score that precious and potentially fixture-killing away goal.

The attack will feature the untested pairing of Dani Osvaldo and Sebastian Giovinco. Osvaldo scored in the first leg and was brought in precisely for moments like this, while poor Seba put in a good performance from the bench in that match and will hope to come away with a goal this time for his troubles. I’m thinking his success on Thursday will be in direct relation to how much he plays facing the goal. He simply is not a hold-up man (just having to type that sentence strikes me as completely ridiculous). A two-man attack doesn’t bode well for Seba’s prospects of facing goal, but hopefully Conte will make some in-match adjustments and let him do this thing.

Mirko Vucinic is still in the recovery room for the next couple of weeks, which means that Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente will be Conte’s main options off the bench — but again, let’s hope at least one never features at all. Surely a look-in for the uncalled Fabio Quagliarella wouldn’t have been too much to ask, especially if Juve manage to score early and put the fixture to bed?

http://markting10.nl/

Despite the travel (to a country with bad recent memories, no less) and Serie A to worry about, this match will only be trouble if Juve allow it to be. There’s no reason to make this interesting.

Sure, we said that at the beginning of the Champions League group stage, and I can remember a recent Europa campaign that started with a tentative lead only to see a collapse in the second leg, but this is a different squad — certainly different from the Dark Days Before Conte, but different even to the one that learned their harsh European lesson in December.

Let’s get this round over with — there’s a lot more fun to be had in the next one.

ANDIAMO, RAGAZZI!!!

http://markting10.nl/

Czech Ref for Trabzonspor, Part II

The end of Juve’s two-leg Turkish adventure will be a mostly Czech affair, officiated by 36-year-old Pavel Kralovec.

According to the Mothership, Pavel has three recent Champions League matches under his belt, though he has never presided over a Juventus fixture.

http://markting10.nl/

Kralovec’s linesmen will be Martin Wilczek and Roman Slysko (of Slovakia). Ondrej Pelikan will be the fourth official and is also ready to shovel snow if need be.

Still bitter over here…

http://markting10.nl/

Conte & Buffon: Finishing the Job

We all know how much Antonio Conte enjoys press conferences these days — so much so that he refuses Juventino participation in the traditional Serie A pre-match interview in protest of what he rightly sees as the Italian media’s unfair and hysterical treatment of all Juve-related matters.

Evidently, Europa League pressers are a different animal—or else Conte is simply contractually obligated in a way he isn’t in Italy. Either way, Conte was on hand to fulfill his media duties on Wednesday ahead of the second leg with Trabzonspor (via Juventus.com).

Conte’s key message to his squad? Finish the job, and don’t make things interesting:

http://markting10.nl/

When you score two goals at home without conceding you definitely hold a slight advantage. But we know we’ll be up against a side boosted by 25,000 fans.

“When teams come to Juventus Stadium they can feel the presence of our fans and that’s how it will be for us tomorrow. We’ll aim to be the best on the pitch and get through to the next round. It’s not the first time we’ll be playing in this type of situation, so we’re prepared and have plenty of respect for our opponents.”

As he’s mentioned a few times since last Thursday, Conte will not allow Juventus to sit on the lead, but rather will push for a decisive away goal, forcing Trabzonspor into a virtual four-goal hole:

We’ve come here to play our own game and certainly won’t be defending our advantage. It’s not part of our mentality. They’ve got great quality in forward areas, but we want to dictate the game, also because scoring a goal would more or less give you a downhill run towards qualification.”

http://markting10.nl/

With Milan on Sunday and the Serie A threat of Roma to worry about, it would be easy for Conte and co. to see the Europa League in general and this round in particular as a necessary distraction. But Antonio insists that these matches are all part of an overarching plan to restore Juve’s European profile for next year and beyond:

“We’re facing this competition with enthusiasm and every player in the squad will play his part along the way. Those who played in Turin did well but I’m convinced they can do even better.

“These games enable us to enhance our international experience and we need to tackle them in the best possible way. So there will be plenty of changes, essential given the heavy fixture schedule.”

http://markting10.nl/

Conte’s captain, Gigi Buffon, agreed with his manager on the importance of the tournament (via Juventus.com):

“It’s a competition to be taken seriously, as there could be some significant successes enjoyed. Going through to the next round and playing even more important games enables you to gain further confidence on the European scene.”

Gigi was quick to pay tribute to his counterpart, Trabzonspor’s keeper, Onur Kivrak, who impressed (re: frustrated) last Thursday, stopping Juve more often than not:

“We’ve seen several Trabzonspor games, and he’s often turned in brilliant performances. He’s ruthless in coming off his line, good at setting his team off on the counter and also made two or three decent saves in Turin. He’s one of the side’s strengths, that’s for sure.”

http://markting10.nl/

Finally, Buffon seemed genuinely humbled by the overwhelming turnout for the first leg at Juventus Stadium; perhaps he expected the tifosi to be less than enthusiastic at the prospect of a Europa League run. On the contrary, the now-customary Juventus Stadium atmosphere was in full effect, and the warm reception did not go unnoticed by the players:

“It struck us to see the stadium full and the atmosphere created by the fans. In the past that didn’t even happen in important Champions Cup games. This message demonstrates that the Juventus fans and team, thanks to the mentality instilled by the manager, know that time and humility is required if we want to return to the peak of Europe’s elite. The fans’ message is clear: they’re with us and will remain so all the way throughout our journey.”

http://markting10.nl/

You gotta hand it to both parties here: Fans and players alike seem very committed to the Europa League this season. And if Juve can continue to divert a bit of their focus from their primary concern (the Serie A table) for these midweek fixtures, they should be a firm favorite to lift the trophy in front of their home crowd.

Let’s hope that all-in mentality continues with a solid, all-business takedown of Trabzonspor on Thursday night.

Europa League Preview: Juventus vs.
Trabzonspor, Leg 2 — Turkey Day, Part Deux

Feb 27, 2014

It's not often that a team from Italy like Juventus travels to Turkey twice within a two-month period of time in two separate European competitions for two completely different games. Then again, it's not often that one of the best teams in Europe is not playing in the Champions League this time of year.

http://markting10.nl/

But Juventus find themselves traveling to Turkey in the final few days of February for the Europa League, not the other European tournament we all wish they were still taking part in.

It's Part II of Juve's adventure to Turkey this season. The first time they were there — yeah, we won't talk about that. This second time, though, will be the difference between Juventus advancing to the next round of the Europa League or seeing another European competition come to a crashing, facepalm-worthy end.

JuventusFC ✔ @juventusfcen
#Conte: We'll aim to be the best team on the pitch tomorrow and secure our safe passage through to the next round. #TrabzonsporJuve

http://markting10.nl/

Might the second trip to Turkey treat Juventus better than the first?

We sure as hell hope so.

Ninety or so minutes after the opening whistle blows on Thursday night, a spot in the Round of 16 will have been secured by somebody. Or, in the mind of a lot of people, Juventus advancing will mean the expected just becomes a reality. That's just what happens when you're one of the favorites to win the whole thing. And who doesn't want to have the final be a home game? I can think of a few people who wear black and white on a regular basis who wouldn't mind that.

http://markting10.nl/

JuventusFC ✔ @juventusfcen
#Buffon: The @EuropaLeague is a competition that we'll be taking seriously. Good results and progress enable us to gain confidence in Europe

In that case, keep the wins coming, Gigi.

http://markting10.nl/

GOOD NEWS

For as frustrating and not-so-good parts of Juventus' first leg against Trabzonspor, they head to Turkey with a 2-0 lead on aggregate. It could have been a lot worse for the simple fact that Juve were walking on a tightrope for almost the entire second half in Turin last week. But the end result was an important one — Juventus 2, Trabzonspor 0.

http://markting10.nl/

BAD NEWS

Add Kwadwo Asamoah to the list of players who are injured. Juventus' starting left wingback, according to the Juventus website, has been ruled out "after reporting muscular fatigue in the posterior area of his right thigh at the conclusion of yesterday's training session." Then again, he probably wasn't going to play tomorrow night anyways, but still. He will rest for a couple days and then have his condition be monitored — which basically means his status for the Milan clash on Sunday is completely up in the air right now.

http://markting10.nl/

WHAT TO WATCH FOR

1. How much squad rotation will there be?

Why do I ask? Because the way Antonio Conte went about things lineup-wise in the first leg, there's no reason to think it won't be the same seven days later. It's not expected to be the complete turnover like in the Coppa Italia, but it's close enough. It's not if there will be changes, but how many players from over the weekend won't be starting Thursday night. There will be turnover in Juve's starting lineup, and probably a good number of it, too. Conte keeps saying he has faith in his entire squad and that means we'll be seeing a good portion of it in the Europa League.

2. The rumored Dani Osvaldo and Sebastian Giovinco partnership — if it happens.

In the first leg Osvaldo was paired with Carlos Tevez. Now it seems like he's getting teamed up with an even shorter striker. If indeed the reported Osvaldo-Giovinco tandem plays from the start tomorrow, it will be the first time that they've played alongside one another in a 3-5-2 formation. Giovinco, of course, came off the bench in the first leg as Conte switched to a 4-3-3 in the second half, but there's no reason to think he won't go back to his default formation tomorrow night. That means it's Giovinco and Osvaldo for the first time. And here's to hoping it delivers the goods.

http://markting10.nl/

3. How much Juventus' wingbacks contribute.

In one word, the way Mauricio Isla and Federico Peluso played in the first leg can be described as this: Meh. Isla was the best of a rather average pair — and that's probably putting it lightly. There were more mistakes than positive impacts being made last Thursday by Peluso and Isla. And when you consider how well Asamoah and Stephan Lichtsteiner have played over the last month or two, having Peluso and Isla do not much of anything seems even that much worse. They don't need to be spectacular, really. They just need to get the job done. But sometimes, even that seems like it's as painful as pulling teeth.

4. Which center midfield will get a rest in anticipation of Sunday's clash with Milan?

The interesting thing about the Europa League being around is that it screws with the schedule just as much as the Champions League did. But unlike when the Champions League is around, there's no the certainty that Juventus' best starting lineup will be fielded on a game-to-game basis. Arturo Vidal didn't play over the weekend due to suspension, so you'd think he doesn't need to be rested. That means it's either Paul Pogba or Andrea Pirlo who will make way for Claudio Marchisio in the starting lineup.

Or maybe it's Vidal-Pirlo-Pogba through and through and I just wasted a bunch of time.

http://markting10.nl/

5. How Tranbzonspor begin the game.

Because Trabzonspor came up empty, the Turkish side need goals in a hurry. That's no secret. And with no away goals coming back with them to Turkey, it's even more of the case entering tomorrow night's second leg. You would like to think that they will come out looking for an early goal to possibly get the home crowd really behind them and make things just that much more interesting. Here's to hoping that Juventus don't have any of their defensive miscues from the first leg. That'd be pretty unfortunate and bring a lot of unnecessary into all of our lives.

JuventusFC ✔ @juventusfcen
#Conte: It's important when you win 2-0 without conceding at home. But it's a slight advantage and we know they'll be pushed by 25,000 fans.

Trabzonspor-Juventus Betting Preview:
Goals at both ends in a close game in Turkey

Hami Mandirali's men were unfortunate not to find the net in the first leg, but Al Hain-Cole
expects them to have more luck in an entertaining clash in front of their own fans.

Feb 27, 2014

Trabzonspor have a mountain to climb when they welcome Juventus to the Huseyin Avni Aker Stadium for the second leg of their Europa League last 32 clash, looking to overturn a 2-0 aggregate deficit.

http://markting10.nl/

The Black Sea Storm recorded their first win of 2014 with a 2-1 victory over Kayserispor at the weekend and are available at 9/2 (5.50) with William Hill to follow that up by coming out on top this evening.

Antonio Conte’s men claimed a 1-0 win over local rivals Torino in Sunday’s Derby della Mole and are 4/7 (1.57) favourites to emerge victorious once again here.

The visitors have drawn their last three consecutive away ties in this competition, and you can get odds of 3/1 (4.00) on them playing out another stalemate this time out.

http://markting10.nl/

Despite the defeat in Turin, new boss Hami Mandirali will have been encouraged by his team’s performance, as they more than matched the Italian champions for large parts of the game.

Indeed, the Turkish side were unlucky not to grab a precious away goal after seeing Olcan Adin’s ‘equaliser’ ruled out due to the ball allegedly going out of play in the build-up, with the game finely poised at 1-0.

The hosts will now have to push hard in attack in order to give themselves any chance and will be fairly confident of finding the net after scoring in all but two of their 18 matches on home soil this season, including 12 goals in their previous four in this competition.

http://markting10.nl/

Considering La Vecchia Signora failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their three Champions League clashes on the road, including trips to Galatasaray and Copenhagen, and have conceded in each of their last six on the road in all competitions, odds of 8/11 (1.73) seem nailed on for both teams to score in this one.

As well as recording three consecutive stalemates on their travels in the Europa League, Juventus have also drawn their last two away from home in Serie A, meaning those 18/5 (4.60) odds are well worth a pop on them seeing themselves through to the last 16 by finishing all square in Trabzon.

Line-ups: Trabzonspor-Juventus

Feb 27, 2014

Juventus won the first leg 2-0, but are taking no chances as they visit Trabzonspor in a fiery atmosphere.

http://markting10.nl/

It kicks off at 21.05 CET with a place in the Europa League Round of 16 at stake.

The last time Juve were in Turkey, they crashed out of the Champions League with a 1-0 defeat to Galatasaray, a game spread out over two days due to a snowstorm.

There’s no snow this time, but there is heavy rain, so picking the right studs could be crucial.

http://markting10.nl/

Paul Pogba is given the nod in midfield with Claudio Marchisio supporting a new front pairing of Daniel Osvaldo – who scored in the first leg – and Sebastian Giovinco.

Arturo Vidal starts in midfield, as he is suspended for Sunday’s Serie A meeting with Milan.

Trabzonspor are able to start Florent Malouda, who has only recently started training with his teammates due to muscular problems.

http://markting10.nl/

Olcan Adin will have a particular point to prove, as he had the ball in the net during the first leg, but it was disallowed because the ball might’ve gone out of play in the build-up.

Janko and Mierzejewski are surprise first choices for Trabzonspor.

http://markting10.nl/

TRABZONSPOR: Onur Kivrak; Bosingwa, Mustafa Yumlu, Aykut Demir, Kadir Keles; Bourceanu; Ozer Hurmaci, Zokora; Olcan Adin, Mierzejewski, Malouda; Janko

HT 0-2: Juve dominate Trabzonspor

Feb 27, 2014

Arturo Vidal and Daniel Osvaldo gave Juventus a 2-0 lead away to Trabzonspor after utterly dominating the first half.

http://markting10.nl/

The Bianconeri won the first leg 2-0, but were taking no chances after crashing out of the Champions League to Galatasaray in December. Giorgio Chiellini was injured and Andrea Barzagli rested, while Daniel Osvaldo partnered Sebastian Giovinco. Florent Malouda was able to start for the hosts despite a recent injury.

Antonio Conte said Juve wouldn’t just sit back and defend, so it was no surprise after four minutes when Mauricio Isla’s angled drive was deflected off the goalkeeper on to the far post.

Claudio Marchisio then stung Onur Kivark’s gloves for a corner, while Arturo Vidal threatened from a corner and Paul Pogba’s screamer was beaten out from under the bar. It was an extraordinary start from Juve, who wasted another golden opportunity when Isla, Vidal and Osvaldo all had chances to finish off a counter and none of them would take the shot.

http://markting10.nl/

A corner wreaked havoc, as Onur Kivrak parried a Leonardo Bonucci toe-poke with his leg, then got back up to turn away Isla’s strike before Federico Peluso eventually bundled it over the line while offside.

The Italians finally made their dominance count, though again it took a few attempts to beat the goalkeeper. Giovinco sparked a give-and-go with Osvaldo to force a save from point-blank range, but Vidal was ready to finish it off on the rebound.

The ball was in the net once more moments later with Osvaldo, but Vidal was ruled offside in the build-up. Isla rolled a dangerous ball across the face of goal that Osvaldo and Giovinco couldn’t get on the end of.

http://markting10.nl/

Vidal had another shot charged down in the area, but the goal arrived soon after. Giovinco sprung the offside trap on a Claudio Marchisio ball over the top and flicked the cross back into the middle for Osvaldo’s cushioned header from point-blank range.

It was such a one-sided affair that Conte even substituted Pogba after 37 minutes to rest him for Sunday’s Serie A clash with Milan. Giovinco created another good chance that Vidal failed to knock down effectively for the unmarked Osvaldo.

http://markting10.nl/

Trabzonspor 0-2 Juventus (Half-Time, 0-4 on agg)

Trabzonspor 0-2 Juventus (0-4 agg.): Vidal and
Osvaldo strike as Bianconeri cruise in Turkey

Two goals in a bilstering opening half-hour were enough to seal an emphatic aggregate win
for Antonio Conte's side as they kept their quest for Europa League glory alive.

Juventus breezed to a 4-0 aggregate win over Trabzonspor after goals from Arturo Vidal and Pablo Daniel Osvaldo sealed a 2-0 second-leg win in their Europa League last-32 tie.

In an utterly breathless opening half, Juve - targeting a Serie A and Europa League double this season - set about their opponents like a team possessed in Thursday's second leg and would have been out of sight but for the heroics of goalkeeper Onur Kivrak.

But Kivrak could do nothing to prevent Vidal's 17th goal of the season after 19 minutes and Osvaldo capped a fine display in Turkey by heading in from close range just after the half-hour to confirm a convincing aggregate win.

It leaves the Italian champions on course for the dream final at their home ground, although first up are Serie A rivals Fiorentina, who inflicted Juve's only league defeat of the campaign when the sides met earlier this season.

Although Antonio Conte changed his forward line from Sunday's Torino victory, Juventus started strongly and almost went in front when Sebastian Giovinco fed Mauricio Isla in oceans of space on the right, but his shot was superbly tipped onto the post by Kivrak.

The onslaught continued from the visitors with Claudio Marchisio and Paul Pogba both testing Kivrak from long range.

Despite having the luxury of a two-goal cushion from the first leg, there was no let-up from Juve and Kivrak again kept his side in it by thwarting Leonardo Bonucci and then producing a fabulous reflex save from Isla's powerful 18-yard effort.

Federico Peluso forced the rebound home, but was flagged offside.

Juve finally got the goal their determined start deserved after 17 minutes. Giovinco played a neat one-two with Osvaldo, whose cross found the Italian 10 yards out. Giovinco's first-time shot produced an amazing point-blank save from Kivrak before Vidal smashed home the rebound.

Conte's men were rampant and doubled their advantage on the night after 33 minutes when Giovinco latched on to an inch-perfect pass before crossing for the unmarked Osvaldo to head home.

Such was the dominance of the away side that Conte was able to withdraw Pogba before half-time to rest the Frenchman for Sunday's trip to AC Milan.

The unrelenting pace of Juve's first-half performance subsided after the restart, but they still looked dangerous and the magnificent Giovinco's delicate effort had Kivrak beaten, but Aykut Demir got back to head clear.

Giovinco was denied again after 56 minutes when Osvaldo released the Italian in a lightning counterattack, but Kivrak stood tall and blocked the near post effort.

Both players really caught the eye and it was Osvaldo's turn to go close moments later when his quick footwork gave him space for a shot in the area before he lashed over.

Trabzonspor were never in the game and were restricted to long-range opportunities, such as the one that Marc Janko blazed over just after the hour mark.

Juve substitute Simone Padoin almost added a third late on, but Kivrak scrambled clear.

EL: Juve thrash Trabzonspor

Juventus comfortably crushed Trabzonspor 2-0 in Turkey
and will play Fiorentina in the next Europa League round.

Giovinco was desperate to top this excellent performance with a goal of his own, but again Onur Kivrak denied him at the base of the near post.

Osvaldo blasted inches over the bar after skipping past Caner Osmanpasa. Osvaldo’s backheel flick set up Simone Padoin, whose shot squirmed under the goalkeeper, but he was able to scramble it clear in a last-ditch intervention.

Giovinco ran on to a pass from the right and fired straight at Onur Kivrak, then the goalkeeper parried a curling Atomic Ant free kick only for Federico Peluso to horribly balloon the follow-up over from six yards.

Yeki tried to test Gigi Buffon from midfield after spotting the goalkeeper off his line, but the captain was ready for it. Ozer Hurmaci also tried from distance and skimmed the upright.

Juventus comfortably shoved Trabzonspor aside 4-0 on aggregate and will face fellow Serie A side Fiorentina in the Round of 16.

Bianconeri stroll past Turks
and into the last 16

Feb 27, 2014

Juventus swept into the Europa League last 16 with a 2-0 win over Trabzonspor at the Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadium, meaning the Bianconeri advanced 4-0 on aggregate.

http://markting10.nl/

Arturo Vidal put the away side ahead with the powerful close range effort midway through the first half, before Pablo Osvaldo doubled the lead with a free header just after the half hour.

Juventus started at a lightening pace and should have taken the lead within five minutes.

Sebastian Giovinco drove at the centre of the Turkish defence and fed it into the overlapping Mauricio Isla, but Trabzonspor goalkeeper Omur Kivrak did brilliantly to close him down and divert the ball off the post.

http://markting10.nl/

Soon after Giovinco was involved again. When his corner rebounded back to him, the forward cooly picked up the onrushing Claudio Marchisio on the edge, but his strike was down the throat of Kivrak and he punched clear.

Trabzonspor gifted possession away once again and a clever Giovinco reverse pass at the edge of the box played in Vidal, but Mustafa Yumlu made a last ditch recover challenge to save the Turks once again.

Kivrak’s hands were stung again when a terrific touch and drive from Paul Pogba as Antonio Conte looked bemused at how his side had not put this tie to bed.

http://markting10.nl/

The Bianconeri finally got the ball in the net when Federico Peluso poked in after a scramble in the box, but his joy was cut sort as he was rightly flagged offside.

After 18 minutes though the pressure from the Serie A champions finally bore fruit. Pablo Osvaldo cut back to the Giovinco only for Kivrak to deny him, but the ball rolled into the path of Vidal and the Chilean lifted it cleverly into the roof of the net.

Osvaldo thought he had doubled the lead but the Southampton loanee was a fraction off when coverting Isla’s through ball.

http://markting10.nl/

Just after the half hour mark though the Argentine born Italian international got his first of the night and second of the tie.

Marchisio played a delightful ball over the top that released the irrepressible Giovinco, and his half volley took out the goalkeeper and left Osvaldo with the simplest of headers for 2-0.

Juventus continued their dominance in the second half, though Tranbzonspor should be commended for not giving up, but the gulf in class was evident.

http://markting10.nl/

Osvaldo shot over from a tight angle on the hour mark and not long after the Italian international almost created the third for Juve.

A clever back heel on the edge of the penalty area put Padoin through on goal, but the midfielder could only fire straight at the goalkeeper, who then had to punch the ball wide as it slowly squirmed under his body.

Isla, who was having one of his better games for the Bianconeri, then sent in a low cross for Giovinco, but the forward could only poke straight at the goalkeeper.

http://markting10.nl/

Peluso should have made it three just seconds later as a Giovinco free kick was punched directly into the path of Peluso, but the former Atalanta man could only balloon his shot high and wide.

Antonio Conte’s men never really looked in trouble and seemed to slice the Turks open with ease, but failed to convert the majority of their chances.

Trabzonspor did have a couple of shots towards the end but Gianluigi Buffon was never in any trouble.
