Llorente: 'A very tough game'

mcrmrn.jpg

Dec 1, 2013

Fernando Llorente confessed “it was a very tough game” after giving Juventus the late victory over Udinese.

http://markting10.nl/

“I am happy, as it was a very tough game with so many chances, but we couldn’t find a way through,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“At the end I managed it and I’m very happy. We had to win, we achieved it – albeit late and after a real struggle.”

This was Juve’s sixth consecutive victory with six clean sheets and allowed them to go three points clear at the top of the Serie A table.

http://markting10.nl/

Llorente netted his fourth goal of the League season in an unusual atmosphere, as 12,200 children were in the stands to fill in for the banned ultras in the Curva Sud and Nord.

“It was wonderful to see so many children in the stands. It was hard for me to expect such a good start to the season. I am working to do better every day.”

Capello: 'Roma Juve's only antagonists'

Dec 2, 2013

Russia manager Fabio Capello believes Roma are the only real Scudetto antagonists to Juventus.

http://markting10.nl/

He won Serie A titles with both those clubs and was in Florence today in order to be inducted into the Italian Football Hall of Fame.

People have said since the start of the season that Juve were the strongest, noted Capello to the media.

There were some teams who could contrast them, like Roma, but they have now drawn four in a row. Theyre still up there and without European competition to worry about they can be the only real Scudetto antagonists to Juventus.

http://markting10.nl/

Capello was one of eight new entries into the Hall of Fame along with Franco Baresi, Gabriel Batistuta, Massimo Moratti, Gianni Rivera, Eraldo Monzeglio and referees Cesare Gussoni and Sergio Gonnella.

The Russia manager was also asked about the experiment of filling the stands of the Juventus Stadium with over 12,000 children to replace banned ultras.

However, it wasnt a total success, because many of the kids all under the age of 13 still jeered opponents Udinese and hurled insults at Zeljko Brkic every time he took a goal kick.

http://markting10.nl/

Id ask myself a few questions after what happened at the Juventus Stadium. If even children start insulting the opposition team, then it means there are serious problems of ethics and sporting attitude in this country.

If I had been there, I wouldve told the announcer to intervene and make them stop those chants.

Juventus fined €5,000 for young fans' abuse of Brkic

The Serie A champions have been punished after a stand full
of schoolchildren were caught shouting abuse at the Serbia international.

Dec 3, 2012

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) disciplinary committee have fined Juventus €5,000 after young supporters were found to have shouted abuse at Udinese goalkeeper Zeljko Brkic during Sunday's Serie A clash in Turin.

http://markting10.nl/

Adults had been banned from attending the game at Juventus Stadium because of discriminatory chants directed towards Napoli fans last month but, instead of playing the game against the Zebrette behind closed doors, the Bianconeri invited 12,000 schoolchildren into the ground.

However, the move backfired, with the FIGC forced to act after Brkic was targeted by fans during Juve's 1-0 win over Udinese.

http://markting10.nl/

A statement from the Serie A read: "Juventus have been fined €5,000 for their very young supporters having repeatedly insulted a player of a rival team."

Juventus, who are currently top of Serie A, clinched a dramatic victory thanks to Fernando Llorente’s stoppage-time winner.

Conte focusing on Bologna

Dec 5, 2013

Antonio Conte will pick the most appropriate team to face Bologna, has updated on Stephan Lichtsteiner and brushed off contract renewal speculation.

http://markting10.nl/

The Bianconeri travel out to Emilia-Romagna this Friday evening for Week 15’s opening fixture, ahead of next Tuesday’s crunch Champions League group stage clash with Galatasaray, where a result is needed to earn progression to the Last 16 of the competition.

At today’s pre-match Press conference, it was put to Juve’s Coach that the need in Istanbul may override team selection and focus for tomorrow evening.

“It is inevitable that the match against Bologna will be a difficult game, against a team that is definitely in a good state of health, they are doing well, so we expect a tough game, hard,” countered Conte to reporters.

http://markting10.nl/

“So we will go into it with a clear head, just thinking about the match against Bologna. We have always thought this way, so we must not change.

“Having said that, I will try to select those that I consider most suitable and right at this particular moment, always with one goal - to be able to face the opponent with the best possible team and win the game.”

The Coach was asked if this meant Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez ceding their places in attack to Fabio Quagliarella and Mirko Vucinic.

http://markting10.nl/

“Let’s see. I’m not here to tell you the formation, so I will make my decisions and you will see them tomorrow.

“The choices will be dictated by the physical condition of the players, from my mind, from what I have in my head, especially as we are facing, with many games ahead of us, the fact that we have already played in the last seven days.”

After almost two months out, Stephan Lichtsteiner returned to action last weekend against Udinese, so Conte was asked if the Swiss full-back is in line for a start any time soon.

http://markting10.nl/

“Lichtsteiner, as I said in the conference before Udinese, is a player who is recovering, he is looking for his best condition and through specific training he has been doing well in recent days.

“We are trying to bring him up to the best possible condition, so that when he plays he can maintain 95 minutes with no problem.

“He is training, having game-time, as he did against Udinese. We are trying to get him up to the best condition and I am sure that in no time he will be available to play from the start.”

http://markting10.nl/

Conte was reminded of Arturo Vidal’s contract renewal this week and expected work from the Bianconeri to try to renew Paul Pogba and Andrea Pirlo’s contracts. The Coach was prompted for comment on his own possible contract renegotiation.

“I believe that this, honestly, is not an important issue, neither for me nor for Juventus. We are so focused on a particular moment of the season, when we have to get a result in Istanbul, where in my opinion we have to give it everything in order to get second place [in the group].

“I am happy for the guys that are renewing their contracts, because they have deserved it, it is recognition, but for the rest, I repeat, we are so focused, it is an important moment and we remain focused on this.”

Pioli: 'Bologna can shock Juve'

Dec 5, 2013

Stefano Pioli is still furious after Bologna’s Coppa Italia exit, but warns they must “believe” against Juventus.

http://markting10.nl/

The Rossoblu host Serie A leaders Juve at the Stadio Dall’Ara on Friday at 19.45 GMT, click here for a match preview.

“I remain disappointed and angry, but thankfully we already have a game tomorrow that can allow us to close that chapter and open up another,” said Bologna Coach Pioli in a Press conference.

His side was knocked out of the Coppa Italia Fourth Round on Tuesday by Siena in the last minute of extra time.

http://markting10.nl/

“The players know what to do and from yesterday we started preparing to face Juventus. We must play with great spirit and tempo, but also certainly try to play the best possible football.

“It will require the right quality and character to control the ball and make life difficult for our opponents. This is a game where we must believe in our chances.”

The Serie A Week 15 tie is brought forward to Friday so that Juventus can prepare for their Champions League trip to Galatasaray.

http://markting10.nl/

“Juventus are accustomed to not underestimating any test or any team, so they will not be distracted by their European commitments. They want to keep this positive streak going.”

Former Juve defender Frederik Sorensen is suspended, while Henry Gimenez and Davide Moscardelli are ruled out by injury.

Alessandro Diamanti should be fit to start after missing last week’s 1-1 draw with Parma due to a bout of flu.

Bologna-Juventus Preview:
Bianconeri gunning for seventh straight win

The two-time Serie A champions are in fine form, but will have to do without
Andrea Pirlo, who is set for a spell on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Dec 5, 2013

Serie A leaders Juventus will look for Fernando Llorente to continue his recent purple patch in front of goal during Friday's visit to Bologna.

http://markting10.nl/

The Turin outfit - who have won back-to-back Serie A titles - head into the fixture at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara on a run of six straight league victories, a streak that has taken them three points clear of second-placed Roma.

Juve's latest success came in a 1-0 triumph over Udinese on Sunday, with Spain international Llorente notching the only goal of the game in second-half injury time.

The 28-year-old joined Antonio Conte's side from Athletic Bilbao in the close-season and initially struggled for form, but now appears to have found his rhythm having scored in Juve's last three league games.

http://markting10.nl/

The champions have dropped only five points in Serie A this campaign, tasting defeat just once in 14 games in a 4-2 setback to Fiorentina on October 20.

But Conte was dealt a blow before the showdown with Stefano Pioli's men, with the news that playmaker Andrea Pirlo is set for an indefinite spell on the sidelines with a knee ligament injury.

In contrast to Juventus' flying start, Bologna languish in 17th position and suffered the humiliation of being knocked out of the Coppa Italia by Serie B outfit Siena on Tuesday.

http://markting10.nl/

Only newly-promoted Sassuolo have conceded more than their 26 goals in 14 outings, and they have not beaten Juve at home in their last nine attempts.

Pioli's team are also on a four-game run without victory in Serie A, and have won just two of their last 15 top-flight fixtures.

Bologna-Juventus Betting Preview:
Antonio Conte's side to cruise to another victory

Juve travel to face Rossoblu with both sides at different ends of Serie A,
with our tipster advising punters back the away side to win to nil at a tasty price.

Dec 5, 2013

Juventus have been in fantastic form in Serie A, winning 12 of their 14 matches so far, losing only once.

http://markting10.nl/

They face a Bologna side this week who are struggling to escape the bottom three, as they sit in 17th, level on points with Livorno who occupy the final relegation place.

Coral price the Serie A leaders at 4/9 (1.44) to take all three points from this match.

Bologna finished 13th last season in the top flight, but have struggled for victories in recent weeks, managing only two wins in their last 15 matches.

http://markting10.nl/

Coral price them as underdogs at 7/1 (8.00) to cause an upset. The same firm price the draw at 3/1 (4.00).

With no value to be found in Juventus outright, the handicap market throws up a tempting price, with Juve -1 at 6/5 (2.20) with Coral.

However, with Antonio Conte's side winning four away games this season by a single goal, it's worth staying away from this price as there appears to be a better option in the markets which would cover this eventuality.

http://markting10.nl/

Instead, it's worth investing in the Bianconeri to win to nil at a fantastic 27/20 (2.35) with Coral. The Serie A leaders have won their last six matches, with this bet paying out in all of those matches.

When you also consider Bologna have scored only 16 goals this season in Serie A, it's tough to ignore this bet, especially at such a price.

MATCH PREVIEW

Dec 5, 2013

Bologna survived defeat for the second consecutive week to go two games unbeaten but now face a Juventus side in imperious form.

http://markting10.nl/

All the Rossoblu want for Christmas is to not be in the relegation zone. Two tenacious performances in their last two games would suggest that someone is smiling down on them as they have earned two vital points that currently keep them out of the bottom three on goals scored.

Stefano Pioli’s side held on for 37 minutes against Parma and could still have snatched victory had they been more clinical.

Juventus meanwhile may not have been naughty, but they are certainly giving the air of ‘no more Mr Nice Guy’. The gloves are off as the defending champions look to remain at the top of the mountain heading into the winter break.

http://markting10.nl/

Since their shock 4-2 away defeat to Fiorentina, La Vecchia Signora has switched her motorised wheelchair into top gear to win six consecutive League games. In that period they have not conceded a single goal, and remain the only team to have scored in every Serie A match this term.

Unbeaten Roma have now dropped eight points in their last four games and a win here could see the Bianconeri stretch their lead at the top to six points. With the idea of allocating the ultras vacated seats to children appearing to have backfired, Antonio Conte will want his team to distract from that by continuing their dominance on the pitch.

Bologna are without the injured trio of Niccolo Cherubin, Henry Gimenez and Jonathan Cristaldo, while Fredrik Sorensen is suspended. Long-term absentee Simone Pepe is joined by Mauricio Isla, Sebastian Giovinco and Andrea Pirlo.

http://markting10.nl/

Keep an eye on: Fernando Llorente (Juventus) - The 28-year-old Spaniard clinched a late victory and kept Juve’s impressive run going with a stoppage time winner last week at Udinese. It was his third goal in as many consecutive League games and he finally appears to be living up to his reputation and forming a formidable partnership with Carlos Tevez.

Form Guide: Bologna (W D L D D) Juventus (W W W W W)

Last season: Bologna 0-2 Juventus

Stat fact:
The Rossoblu have won one just once at home this season and have conceded 12 goals. That could be about to get a lot worse as Juventus have won five out of seven away games scoring 10 goals in the process.

http://markting10.nl/

BOLOGNA (probable): Curci; Antonsson, Natali, Mantovani; Garics, Khrin, Perez, Morleo; Kone, Diamanti; Bianchi

JUVENTUS (probable): Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Pogba, Marchisio, Asamoah; Tevez, Llorente

Bologna v Juventus – Team News,
Possible Line-ups,Tactics And Prediction

Dec 5, 2013

A fantastic recent run of form, coupled with slippage from AS Roma has seen Juventus over-turn the deficit of points and take a firm control of the Serie A table with a three point cushion at the top. The Old Lady’s form has take a sharp turn towards the up after their devastating defeat against Fiorentina and Juventus has since then on every single match, without conceding a goal in the league. The form curve is radically different for their opponents, as Bologna has not won a match since October and has slowly slid down the table to become level on points with Livorno, who are in the drop zone due to worse goal difference. Based on the most recent form, Bologna couldn’t have asked for a tougher opponent than Juventus.

http://markting10.nl/

Bologna FC – Team News, Line-up and Formation

Things have not gone well at all for Stefano Pioli’s team this season. The Rossoblù started their season dismally and had to wait till late October to register their first Serie A victory. Their potentially vital 1-0 win over fellow strugglers Livorno was followed by a thumping away win against Cagliari. Just when it was looking like they had shrugged off their poor start they once again lost form, failing to pick a single win in November. The only positive their fans can draw is the fact that they are not losing matches frequently now and have drawn three out of last four Serie A games. Their ignominy for current season was extended to the Cup as well when Bologna was knocked out by Serie B yo-yo men Siena in the Coppa Italia thanks to a late, late Zouhair Feddal. With no other tournaments to participate in, the Rossoblù will be looking to fully focus on the league and void a relegation which is looking highly probable right now.

Bologna is likely to start with a three man defence though their formation will not be similar to that of Juve’s. Bologna’s three man back-line is likely to be brimming with experience with an average age of 32 as Mikael Antonsson and Cesar Natali will team up with Andrea Mantovani. With 26 goals conceded in 14 matches, the Rossoblù the second worst defensive record in the division and Pioli has struggled to field a set back-line, using different combinations in different matches – to little effect. Mantovani is likely to be a weak link in their defence and has been especially poor this season with just three successful tackles in seven appearances. Given the fact that Juventus will start with two strikers and Vidal will push up along with Paul Pogba and Stefan Lichtsteiner, the Bologna defence and ‘keeper Curci is likely to have a very busy day.

Rene Krhin has had a decent season till now and is likely to play a much deeper defensive role against a Juventus midfield which will outnumber Bologna midfielders. Stefan Lichtsteiner is back after a lengthy lay-off and it was his assist that set up Llorente’s late match winner against Udinese. Archimede Morleo, who is likely to start as left-wing back for Bologna may have a tough time against the Swiss mail train. Morleo has often let opponent right backs dribble past him with ease and may struggled given a fully fit Lichtsteiner’s pace and work-rate.

http://markting10.nl/

Bologna’s best chance to get something out of this match comes up front thanks to a player who has been strongly linked with Juventus in past and another Greek attacker who scored one of the greatest goals of last season. The versatile Alessandro Diamanti hasn’t hit his last year’s form yet but with three goals and an assist in 12 starts, he remains Bologna’s best player. Diamanti is technically strong and his fighting spirit means that Juventus defence can’t allow extra space or time to him. Panagiotis Kone has been another outstanding player for Bologna and is at present the club top scorer for season 2013/14. Kone usually operates in the channel between opponent defence and midfield and he will be looking to take advantage of the space that may free up due to absence of Pirlo in Juventus midfield. With an 84% passing success rate and four goals, Kone will be one of the players Bologa will be relying if they are to end Gigi Buffon’s personal record of clean sheets.

Possible Starting XI (3-4-1-2): Curci; Antonsson, Mantovani, Natali; Garics, Krhin, Perez, Morleo; Kone; Diamanti, Bianchi

http://markting10.nl/

Bologna-Juventus.jpg

Juventus FC – Team News, Line-up and Formation

The Fiorentina loss seems to have sparked Juventus back to life and the defending champions have went on an awesome five match winning streak since then. Buffon, who had got some criticism for his performances earlier this season broke his previous clean sheet record for Juventus set more than a decade back after keeping out Udinese in last round. The veteran ‘keeper dished out one of his vintage displays in breaking that record, with a close range save off Di Natale making it to highlights reel. Fernando Llorente capped off his welcome return to form with a late, late goal to win the close encounter as Juve took control of the summit of Serie A table.

http://markting10.nl/

Andrea Barzagli is fully fit, which means Conte won’t have too much head-ache in setting up his defence with the first choice trio of Barzagli, Bonucci and Chiellini all available. Stefan Lichtsteiner returned from injury against Udinese and promptly delivered the cross for the match-winner in his brief second half cameo. It is quite interesting to note that Juve’s latest winning streak was achieved without the Swiss wing-back who has been a vital component in the club since joining in 2011/12 season. Kwadwo Asamoah is also back from suspension which means Conte will once again be able to field his favourite pair of wing-backs.

Lichtsteiner’s absence was covered by Juventus without much damage but Conte will be hoping to do the same in the absence of Andrea Pirlo, one of the most used out-field players in last two seasons. The veteran midfielder limped off against Udinese and it was later announced that he may miss out for rest of the year. Pirlo’s vision and creativity has been a major reason behind Juventus midfield becoming one of the best in Europe and the bearded genius will certainly be missed. Claudio Marchisio, who has been sidelined this season, will look to make full use of this opportunity and cement his place back in the starting XI. The other two midfielders both had personal highs during the week with Arturo Vidal signing a new contract which will keep him in Turin till 2017 while Paul Pogba became the first Juventus player to win the prestigious Golden Boy award.

http://markting10.nl/

Fernando Llorente has scored 4 goals and assisted once in his last 5 matches and this hot streak of form is likely to help him keep his place in starting XI. Carlos Tevez looked slightly fatigued in the last match, though he is likely to start with Mirko Vucinic making an appearance later.

Possible Starting XI (3-5-2): Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Lichtsteiner, Pogba, Vidal, Marchisio, Asamoah; Tevez, Llorente

http://markting10.nl/

Players to Watch Out For

Arturo Vidal (Juventus
)

Expect the Chilean to cap off his new contract with another memorable performance. Pirlo’s absence does rob Juve off some irreplaceable creativity but it will also allow Vidal more freedom as he won’t have to give protection to Pirlo in midfield. Vidal is the highest scoring player in Conte era and it won’t come as a surprise if he increases that tally against Bologna.

Alessandro Diamanti (Bologna)

A late bloomer, Diamanti has shone for both club and country in past season. The Italian is an extremely dangerous and versatile player and has the ability to score screamers when he has the chance. The Juventus defence as well as Buffon will need to be wary about the Bologna ace.

http://markting10.nl/

Prediction

Bologna 0-1 Juventus

Bologna played 120 minutes in mid-week and will be fatigued when they have to play another game just two days later. Their home form isn’t good either and given Juve’s present form, the visitors are likely to pile more misery on the hosts.

Bologna v Juventus: Preview

Dec 5, 2013

Juventus coach Antonio Conte has demanded maximum concentration from his players ahead of Friday's match at Bologna.

http://markting10.nl/

Conte does not want his players distracted by Tuesday's Champions League match at Galatasaray.

The Bianconeri need to beat the Turkish outfit in Istanbul in their final Group B match to progress to the knockout round of the competition.

However, Conte wants his side to focus solely on Bologna.

http://markting10.nl/

"Tomorrow's match will be a tough one against a good side," Conte said. "I will put my best team out on the pitch with the aim of being better than our rivals and taking home three points.

"I am certain that the team that will play, will respond in the best possible way."

Conte is confident his side will overcome the absence of Andrea Pirlo, who sustained a knee injury in last weekend's 1-0 triumph against Udinese and will be sidelined until the new year.

http://markting10.nl/

"Paul (Pogba) can take that role and do well," he said.

"But depending on our rivals' tactics we will decide whether it is Paul, Arturo Vidal or Claudio Marchisio to take Pirlo's position."

Juve go into the encounter at the Renato Dall' Ara stadium riding a six-match winning streak in Serie A.

http://markting10.nl/

The Turin giants are three points clear of Roma at the top of the standings and could extend that gap if they beat Bologna and the Giallorossi fail to come out triumphant against in-form Fiorentina this weekend.

Rivals Bologna go into the encounter looking to make amends for Tuesday's 2-1 home defeat to Serie B side Siena that knocked them out of the Coppa Italia.

"We are all angry, not just the coach," Bologna goalkeeper Dejan Stojanovic said. "We expected a victory and instead we lost in extra time.

http://markting10.nl/

"Now we have to leave this defeat behind us and concentrate on doing well in Serie A.

"We will have to play a flawless game if we are to surprise Juventus."

http://markting10.nl/

Last weekend's 1-1 draw at Parma followed Bologna's 1-1 result against Inter Milan and extended their winless run in the league to four games.

Stefano Pioli's side holds the last safety position but are level on 12 points with 18th-placed Livorno.

Golden boy Pogba must work hard, says Conte

The Juventus coach lauded his young star but warns he cannot afford to let
his performances drop, and is eagerly anticipating Friday's game against Bologna.

Dec 6, 2013

Juventus coach Antonio Conte has urged Paul Pogba to keep working hard after winning the prestigious Golden Boy award.

http://markting10.nl/

The French midfielder won the prize earlier this week following a string of impressive performances for club and country, including four goals in 14 Serie A outings this season.

However, Conte says the former Manchester United youngster has the potential to reach a higher standard and has advised him to continue on his current trajectory.

"I’m happy for Paul Pogba's Golden Boy award," Conte said at a press conference. "He’s got all the potential to reach the very top.

http://markting10.nl/

"In the space of 18 months, Pogba has developed in an exceptional way. Credit to him. As a club we've always believed in Pogba and he knows he has to keep his head down and continue to work hard."

Juventus take on Bologna on Friday and Conte is concentrating on leading his side to maximum points.

"Bologna will be a difficult game. We need to think exclusively about that match and put anything else to the back of our minds," he continued.

http://markting10.nl/

"I will look to play the most appropriate team available to me at this moment, with one objective in mind - winning.

"There are many factors that will come into play when I choose my team tomorrow. I hope they give me the response I'm looking for. It’s an important moment of the season and we’ll remain focused on our task."

HT 0-1: Juve lead in Bologna

Dec 6, 2013

Arturo Vidal celebrated signing a new contract by netting the only goal in Juventus’ 1-0 half-time lead over Bologna.

The hosts did, slowly, get back into the game, with Diamanti going close, first with a free kick, and then a rasping half-volley from 25 yards – Gianluigi Buffon was more than equal to both.

Going into the break though, Juventus were on top and looking relatively comfortable with a 1-0 lead.

Vidal and Chiellini secure hard-fought three points

The midfielder scored in the first half before the Italy international netted a late
clincher after the champions had spurned a number of chances to make the points safe.

Dec 6, 2013

A goal in either half from Arturo Vidal and Giorgio Chiellini was enough to seal a hard-fought three points for Juventus away to Bologna on Friday.

http://markting10.nl/

Antonio Conte's men went into the clash three points ahead of Roma at the summit following a run of six straight league wins.

The defending champions have not tasted defeat in Bologna since 1998, and made sure of another three points at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara with a highly professional performance.

Midfielder Vidal opened the scoring in the early stages with a close-range effort as Juve dictated the first half.

http://markting10.nl/

Bologna did threaten sporadically after the interval, but their hopes of taking a share of the spoils were killed off when Chiellini struck in the final minute of normal time.

Juventus made six changes to the side that overcame Udinese last time out, with Paul Pogba, Mirko Vucinic and Fabio Quagliarella among those recalled in place of Andrea Pirlo, Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente.

There were two alterations to the Bologna team that drew with Parma in their previous league encounter, one of which saw Andrea Mantovani replace the suspended Frederik Sorensen in defence.

http://markting10.nl/

The visitors dictated play during the early stages and deservedly took the lead after 12 minutes, Vidal latching on to Federico Peluso's ball over the top to volley home moments after Claudio Marchisio had seen a goalbound effort cleared following another sparkling Juve move.

Conte's men looked to kill off the game and came close to a second five minutes later when Quagliarella had an effort deflected wide.

Attacking midfielder Alessandro Diamanti twice tested Buffon from range as Bologna looked to find a way back before half-time, but Juve's defence was rarely troubled.

http://markting10.nl/

Juventus began the second half with renewed energy and came close to doubling their advantage just after the break when Marchisio curled wide from a tight angle.

Bologna struggled to find a foothold in the game and goalkeeper Gianluca Curci needed to be at his best when twice pulling off superb saves to deny substitute Llorente.

Curci was beaten for a second time after 67 minutes, but Kwadwo Asamoah was adjudged to have been offside as he collected Llorente's neat throughball.

http://markting10.nl/

Despite Juve's clear superiority, Bologna should perhaps have levelled when striker Jonathan Cristaldo fired narrowly wide of the far post following an excellent counter-attack.

Marchisio and Llorente spurned further chances as the game headed to its conclusion, while Archimede Morleo headed over for Bologna.

The game was finally ended as a contest in the dying stages, Chiellini converting at the near post from a Carlos Tevez corner.

After the interval, Conte’s team were quickly out of the blocks again. Fernando Llorente, who came on for the injured Vucinic, set up Claudio Marchisio inside the first two minutes, but the Italy international curled wide from the left-hand side of the box.

The Spaniard then went close himself on the hour mark, but after turning Cesare Natali, the former Athletic Bilbao man couldn’t beat the goalkeeper from close range.

http://markting10.nl/

Their profligacy almost cost the Old Lady however late on, as substitute Jonathan Cristaldo beat Angelo Ogbonna and swept a low effort past Buffon – it also went past the far post though.

With 90 minutes on the clock, the Bianconeri sealed the win as Carlos Tevez’s corner was headed in by Chiellini to seal the win.

Experimental Bianconeri side too much for Rossoblu

25hctmr.jpg

Dec 6, 2013

Juventus defeated Bologna 2-0 at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara on Friday night in Serie A.

http://markting10.nl/

An early goal by in-form Arturo Vidal and a glancing header by Giorgio Chiellini in the 89th minute did the job for the league leaders against the Rossoblu, whose worries are increasing in the bottom of the table.

Juventus took control of the match from the kick-off, but mistimed runs and misplaced passes, as well as a few great last-second tackles by Bologna defenders prevented the Bianconeri from capitalising on their early dominance.

Nevertheless, in the 13th minute, the Turin club opened the scoreline. After an one-on-one opportunity was squandered by Claudio Marchisio, Juventus kept possession and their persistence paid off with a goal from Vidal, who was found unmarked in the area by Federico Peluso.

http://markting10.nl/

The first good chance for Bologna came halfway through the opening period. In the 25th minute Alessandro Diamanti tested Gianluigi Buffon with a curling shot from a long range, but the veteran goalkeeper turned it away for a corner.

The Rossoblu threatened again with a cross from the right. Rolando Bianchi settled the ball and pulled it out of the area for Diamanti, but the Italian’s fierce shot ended up straight at Buffon.

The teams were more evenly matched in the beginning of the second half, but it was again Juventus who made the most of their possession by sending some shots toward Gianluca Curci’s goal through Marchisio and Fabio Quagliarella, both off target.

http://markting10.nl/

As the visitors were tightening their grip on their opposition, however, the first shot on goal came from first-half substitute Fernando Llorente, who was given a clear opportunity from the corner of the penalty box. The Spaniard’s shot, however, was well saved by Curci.

In the 68th minute, Juventus might have been two goals up, but a close offside decision went against them and ruled out a goal by newly introduced Kwadwo Asamoah.

Shortly after, the Bianconeri beat the Rossoblu backline once again with a few quick passes, but Llorente could not make the most of the one-on-one opportunity. At the other end, Bologna’s best chance in the half thus far came from nothing. Jonathan Cristaldo picked up a poorly cleared ball and made and individual run deep into the penalty area, but his shot toward Buffon’s far right corner was just whiskers wide.

http://markting10.nl/

Curci was called to work again after 79 minutes, when he had to save a strong near-post shot by Marchisio, and he dealt with the danger in style. Not long after, he once again kept his team in the contest, denying Llorente on another must-score opportunity.

The goalkeeper had to do better 10 minutes later, however, when he was caught in no man’s land after a Carlos Tevez corner. The Argentine found Chiellini at the near post and the Italian international secured all three points for his team by directing the ball into the exposed corner of Curci’s goal.

Juventus win to go six points clear at top of Serie A

x2s3a1.jpg

Dec 6, 2013

Serie A leaders Juventus beat Bologna 2-0 at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara tonight to move six points clear of Roma at the top of the table.

http://markting10.nl/

In-form midfielder Arturo Vidal opened the scoring, and Giorgio Chiellini later secured the Old Lady their seventh consecutive league win with a stoppage-time second.

It took Chilean international Vidal just 13 minutes to add to the hat-trick that he scored against FC Copenhagen last week, as he pounced on the rebound of Claudio Marchisio's driven shot.

Fabio Quagliarella, who had earlier warmed up his shooting boots with a long-range effort, came close to doubling Juve's lead with a deflected strike that looped just wide of the near post.

http://markting10.nl/

The resulting corner on 18 minutes yielded another chance for the visitors as the ball fell to defender Angelo Ogbonna, who miscued his shot on the turn off target from a promising position.

Bologna emerged from the early barrage against them only one down, and then pinned Juve back with some pressure of their own, but Gianluigi Buffon saved well from Alessandro Diamanti's free kick.

Antonio Conte's side missed a hat-trick of chances just prior to the interval, with Vidal among those were wasteful, but it proved not to be costly as they dominated the second period from start to finish.

http://markting10.nl/

Quagliarella, Marchisio sent shots wide, while Fernando Llorente was denied by Gianluca Curci's fine save before substitute Kwadwo Asamoah had a goal ruled out one minute after his introduction.

Juve did find the net again, though, and this time it counted as Chiellini connected with a corner from Carlos Tevez to head home his second goal of the season and make sure of the three points.

Seventh consecutive win,
seventh consecutive clean sheet

2dvo1ll.jpg

Dec 6, 2013

It wasn't the most exquisite of performances but as Juventus has been teaching us this season, they don't need to be at their best to defeat most of the teams in Serie A. Stefano Pioli's men showed heart in their attempts to find an equaliser to Juve's early goal and even gambled with their tactics, but they did'’t do enough. The Bianconeri won 2-0. Seven consecutive wins, seven consecutive clean sheets.

http://markting10.nl/

In many ways you have to applaud a Juve side that managed yet another win despite resting their usual striking duo, Leonardo Bonucci and the familiar wing-backs. Essentially, five of the preferred starting XI (do note, Stephan Lichtsteiner has only just recovered from injury) were benched, yet Juventus started strongly, managing the goal and exposing the weaknesses in Bologna's defence.

Noting the fragility of the Rossoblu defence, Antonio Conte opted to start Mirko Vucinic and Fabio Quagliarella in hopes that their constant movement would overwhelm the opposition. With defenders being dragged out of position and gaps exposed, it was a perfect game for Juve's runners from midfield. Claudio Marchisio had a superb time exploiting the spaces and making the right runs to push forward even if the final ball and finish left a lot to be desired.

The Old Lady started strongly, creating chance after chance as they rotated the ball. Playing at a high tempo, the beauty of their game lied in the many options they had going forward. Runs were made from midfield; the wingbacks were creating a wide threat whilst the forwards caused all sorts of problems. Wherever the home side looked, they found an opponent ready to do something.

http://markting10.nl/

It took only 12 minutes for Federico Peluso to deliver a perfect assist for Arturo Vidal to score the opening goal. What a way to celebrate his contract extension.

Juventus spent much of the first half demonstrating their superior levels of talent while the home side struggled to get their best men on the ball.

In Alessandro Diamanti, they boasted a champion -- their hope. Dropping deep to pick up the ball and then drive the team forward, he was the heartbeat of the side, the creative mind. His passing accuracy and excellent vision aside, his cunning ability (furbizia) is reminiscent of Alessandro Del Piero and Mauro Camoranesi. The player always knows when and how to draw out a foul in a dangerous position. With him on the pitch, Bologna always had a chance.

http://markting10.nl/

Conte was caught barking from the sidelines, asking his side to raise the tempo and keep passing the ball around in the box in hopes of piercing through for another goal. He was desperate to ensure his men did not drop their energetic level so that they could secure the result.

Not willing to accept the defeat, Pioli immediately started to tinker with the side at the start of the second half to spark his team back into life. Taking off Diego Perez to introducing Diego Laxalt, the hope was to stop Paul Pogba delivering passes forward and allowing more time on the ball for Diamanti. It didn't work and if anything, the tempo slowed down.

As such, Pioli moved to introduce Jonathan Cristaldo, a player who excels with his dribbles in hopes of raising the tempo. He made an impact, threatening Juve's men with his acceleration but not even he could find that equaliser.

http://markting10.nl/

Unfortunately for the home side that played with heart, Juventus simply possessed more talent within their ranks, finally sealing the win thanks to a Giorgio Chiellini header that arrived from a Carlos Tevez corner. They ought to have finished off the game a lot sooner considering the manner in which they controlled the match, especially in the first half, but Pioli's tactics were always going to force the Bianconeri to work for it.

Now sitting six points ahead of Roma, albeit temporarily at least until Roma play Fiorentina, it's difficult to see a side match the consistency shown by the current champions of Italy. Neither tactics nor passionate displays are enough for sides to neutralise the danger of the Bianconeri.

With their mind now focused on the match against Galatasaray midweek, it is important Conte's men demonstrate that their brilliance is not only restricted to domestic matches. Another Scudetto is the dream, but Juventus must advance to the next round of the Champions League.

Bologna 0-2 Juventus: 6 Things We Learned

2cykg2.jpg

Dec 6, 2013

Juventus secured a vital 2-0 victory away at Bologna on Friday ahead of next week's Champions League.

http://markting10.nl/

The Bianconeri dominated the Felsinei throughout, but only Arturo Vidal's goal could separate the sides until Giorgio Chiellini's late header added a justifiably greater margin between the sides.

The Old Lady now move on to next week's massive clash with Galatasaray seeking to secure qualification to the last 16 of the tournament.

Here are six things we learned from Friday's clash at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.

http://markting10.nl/

Juve Are in Perfect Shape Ahead of Biggest Game of the Season vs. Galatasaray

Juventus set up next week's clash with Galatasaray with an efficient performance and victory over Bologna.

The 2-0 win set them up brilliantly for next week, built on a solid defence that laid the foundation for Juve's formidable midfield to control the game.

http://markting10.nl/

With Leonardo Bonucci to come back into the side, Juve will be even stronger due to the former Bari defender's ability to distribute from the back.

After opening a gap of six points at the top of the league, Juve do not even need to acknowledge any of the Serie A action over the weekend.

A run of six league wins in succession has fixed their small blip and given them the stability to shift focus to Europe next week.

http://markting10.nl/

Pogba Has the Potential to Hold the Fort While Pirlo Is out

Paul Pogba assumed the role that Andrea Pirlo occupies when he is in the Juve side, and the Frenchman performed admirably in his new found position.

The Frenchman, usually so mobile and athletic, was disciplined and mature in his positioning, screening the back three and providing a platform for the likes of Arturo Vidal to shine.

http://markting10.nl/

By playing Pirlo's position, Juve lose that storming drive from Pogba's game, but Vidal's engine and Claudio Marchisio's neat and tidy work ensure that Juve can still control matters, while maintaining a threat from their midfield runners in transition.

Conte will be pleased with the opening game since Pirlo's injury, and considering the absence is predicted to be for a good while yet, Pogba can only grow into the role.

http://markting10.nl/

Arturo Vidal Deserves New Contract

Arturo Vidal recently signed a new bumper contract that will keep him at the Juventus Stadium until 2017 (per Sky Sports).

The Chilean continues to justify such an offer made by Juventus just months after the last extension for the former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder.

http://markting10.nl/

A wonderfully timed run and a cool finish gave Juve the lead and boosted his reputation as the best goalscoring midfielder in Italy.

Now with 11 league goals, El Guerrero trumps Marek Hamsik with six goals, Borja Valero with five, Marco Parolo with five, Kevin Strootman with three and Fredy Guarin with two.

Juve will be delighted to know the most complete midfielder in Europe will remain in black and white for a good while yet.

http://markting10.nl/

The Wide Options Continue to Flatter to Deceive

Juve's wide men continue to offer very little to the cause and despite persistent opportunities, none of them can persuade Antonio Conte that they deserve a permanent place in the team or that new signings are not necessary.

Sure, Federico Peluso was involved in the build-up for Vidal's opener, but he is vulnerable when backed up and asked to defend against quick players who can both dribble and knock the ball past him and beat him for pace.

Simone Padoin and Mauricio Isla have received ample chances on the right in Stephan Lichtsteiner's absence through injury.

http://markting10.nl/

It is a wonder as to why Martin Caceres has not been given more time to make this role his own.

Paolo De Ceglie possesses more power and drive from the left, in a similar manner to Kwadwo Asamoah, who occupies the left-sided role for the time being, but the Italian is clearly not fancied by the coach.

The Ghanaian Asamoah more or less holds on to his place by default moving forward and Lichtsteiner will coast back into the XI when he regains his fitness.

http://markting10.nl/

Tevez and Llorente Will Now Be Raring to Go Against Gala

Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente made way for Mirko Vucinic and Fabio Quagliarella on Friday against Bologna.

While Llorente did not receive the longest rest due to Vucinic's first half injury, Tevez was only needed for the final 20 minutes, meaning both of them should be ready to cause havoc against Galatasaray on Tuesday.

The partnership has blossomed in recent weeks and it has such versatility that Juve will be able to alter their attacking approach multiple times during the game.

http://markting10.nl/

Given that Andrea Pirlo will be injured and Claudio Marchisio will make his way back into the side once more, Il Principino will be able to combine with the strike force at close quarters on a more regular basis than the midfield trident usually do.

Marchisio's tendency to shift the ball quickly in and around the area should benefit Tevez in particular, creating numerous opportunities with his clever movement.

With the winning result secured, Conte will be delighted that it was achieved without the full exertions of his starting forwards, who will both be ready to fire Juve into the last 16 of the Champions League in Matchday 6 next week.

http://markting10.nl/

Juve Will Qualify for the Last 16 of the Champions League

Juventus have proven over the past few weeks and continued to justify every fan who believes that they will avoid defeat against Galatasaray and qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League.

The defence is rock solid and will be particularly difficult to break down for the Turkish champions.

With Leonardo Bonucci's distribution returning to the side next week, Juve will be able to launch counter-attacks when Gala push for the lead that they must take in order to qualify themselves.

http://markting10.nl/

Stephan Lichtsteiner should be ready to return, and his consistent delivery will be welcomed back, especially with the option of lifting the ball up for Fernando Llorente to attack.

Kwadwo Asamoah is rested nicely and despite his defensive frailties, his attacking instincts and incredible pace and stamina should pin Emanuel Eboue back.

With Llorente and Carlos Tevez set to resume their flourishing partnership as well, it is improbable that Gala will be able to outscore Juve next week, meaning the Old Lady will have Champions League football in the new year.

BOLOGNA

Gianluca Curci
- Had to be on his toes inside the opening 100 seconds as he was forced to tip away Isla's dangerous cross. Didn't have a chance with Vidal's goal but kept Juve at bay for large periods with both brave and bizarre pieces of goalkeeping. Almost kept out Chiellini's header too.

Archimede Morleo - Was dragged into defensive duties in the opening period, having to track Isla up and down the right flank. Was allowed to press forward in the second period but his delivery often disappointed and he missed a glorious chance to head home a late equaliser.

Mikael Antonsson - Positioning proved a problem as Juventus players found space right in behind the Bologna back three time and time again. Didn't pick up Llorente at all in the second period, relying on his keeper's instincts and good fortune to get him off the hook.

Gyorgy Garics - Got back superbly to clear Marchisio's shot off the line but will have been deflated to see the net bulge just moments later. Didn't get forward in the sam way his team-mate on the opposite flank did, preoccupied by the dangerous Peluso.

Cesare Natali - Showed great defensive intuition early on to dispossess Vucinic. Struggled with balls over the top and had to be rescued by team-mate Krhin on a couple of occassions. Could only watch as Chiellini rose above him to nod home the second.

Andrea Mantovani - Went in hard early on as he tried to mark his territory but only succeeded in picking up a booking. Found Quagliarella a handful at the best of times and looked leggy on the arrival of Tevez.

Rene Krhin - Wasted one of Bologna's better opportunities from open play as he blazed over when the ball sat up kindly for him from Diamanti's corner. The deepest of the midfielders, lost runners too often in the middle of the park, most notably Marchisio, who had a number of decent chances.

Diego Pérez - Ineffective throughout the first half as Bologna struggled to cope with Juve's congested midfield. Found himself coming back to help out defensively but ineffective against the high ball. Subbed at the break.

Panagiotis Kone - Showed an appetite to mix it with the big guys at the back for Juve as he regularly took on Ogbonna and Chiellini, with decidedly mixed results. Tried to offer Diamanti support in the centre but was often turned down as the Italian drove on himself.

Rolando Bianchi - An extremely frustrating evening for the former Manchester City man who was largely a spectator throughout. Registered one shot on target and not many more touches as his decent movement went unnoticed by his team-mates.

Alessandro Diamanti - Took a clattering from Peluso in the first half as Juve's tough tacklers singled him out for some rough treatment. Tested Buffon with a long range free kick that gave the Italian No.1 a bit to think about. Appeared a one-man team at times as he created the vast majority of anything promising his side had to offer.

Substitutions

Diego Laxalt
- The Inter loanee came on at the break for fellow countryman Perez but suffered the same problem of being given largely defensive duties.

Denis Alibec - Came on too late to make an impact.

Jonathan Cristaldo - Came on late and almost equalised with a low effort dragged just wide of Buffon's far post.

JUVENTUS

Gianluigi Buffon
- Tested in the opening period a couple of times by the left boot of Diamanti. His cleansheet was never properly tested though, as a few heart-in-mouth moments came and went.

Andrea Barzagli - As part of the central defensive three-piece he was perhaps the least sturdy, but that was largely down to his desire to get forward, for which he had plenty of enthusiasm for, if no end product.

Angelo Ogbonna - Strong in the air as ever, the former Torino defender looked to emulate the absent Pirlo at points with some audacious long range passing. It never really paid off, but he stuck to the task at hand well.

Giorgio Chiellini - Secure at the back as the visitor's back three gave Buffon one of his quietest games in goal. Rolando Bianchi may just have well been in the stands as Chiellini and Co. didn't give him a sniff. Rose well for the second goal.

Mauricio Isla - His own first half performance seemed to mimic that of his own side as he started brightly, before picking up a silly booking and then foraging forward just before the break. Was less active down the flank in the second period as Bologna threatened to make a game of it.

Arturo Vidal - Took his goal expertly as he controlled Peluso's pass before dinking the ball over the onrushing Curci. Had the chance to add a second before the break but couldn't reach the ball with the goal gaping. Continued to probe in the second half but without the same results.

Paul Pogba - A surprisingly quiet night for the Frenchman as Juve struggled to get the ball down and play. Spent more time vying for aerial dominance in midfield than with the ball at his feet and rarely showed the urgency he usually does to get forward.

Claudio Marchisio - Should have opened his Serie A account for the season but was denied by Kone's goal-line clearance after Curci was beaten all ends up. Not a great evening as he spurned further chances, got booked and almost had to go off on a stretcher in stoppage time.

Federico Peluso - Showed great composure and awareness to pick out Vidal for the opening goal. Caused problems down the left as he looked to link with the midfield running in behind. Was booked though and had to come off as he threatened to pick up a second yellow.

Mirko Vučinić - A hugely disappointing evening for the Montenegrin as he was given the chance to prove himself ahead of Tevez and Llorente but ultimately couldn't take it. Denied an early opportunity by a vital Natali challenge, he didn't make it to the break as injury forced him off.

Fabio Quagliarella - Sent a vicious effort dipping over the crossbar in the early stages as Juve pushed for the opener. Was largely frustrating though as he wasted numerous opportunities from set pieces, continuously firing into the wall.

Substitutions

Kwadwo Asamoah
- Almost made an instant impact but was flagged for offside after finding the net. Always posed a threat with his pace.

Carlos Tévez - A brief a cameo but a telling one as he set up the all-important second goal and hounded the Bologna back-line with some tenacious work.

Fernando Llorente - Got into the right places but his finishing let him down and on another day he could genuinely have been walking away with the match ball.

and praised his side for their winning mentality throughout a difficult game.

Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini was proud to see his side refuse to accept anything less than victory during their 2-0 win over Bologna on Friday.

The reigning Serie A champion moved a provisional six points clear at the top of the table with the result, ahead of second-placed Roma's big clash against Fiorentina on Sunday.

And Chiellini, who scored the second goal of the game at the death after Arturo Vidal's opener, explained that his side were focused solely on getting three points right from the first whistle.

"We started off really well, and showed from the offset that we wanted to win," he said to Sky Sport Italia.

"It was a difficult game today. Bologna have the likes of [Alessandro] Diamanti, so we knew that they would be dangerous.

"But we wanted to win at all costs, and we did."

Juve’s next match is a crucial trip to Istanbul to face Galatasaray in the Champions League, with the Bianconeri needing to avoid defeat to assure themselves of a spot in the knockout stages.

Conte 'really happy' after win

2jcg8px.jpg

Dec 6, 2013

Juventus Coach Antonio Conte admitted he was ‘really happy’ after their 2-0 win over Bologna on Friday.

http://markting10.nl/

“We have strong players, but also an organisation which is the bedrock of our game,” he told reporters after Arturo Vidal and Giorgio Chiellini gave the Bianconeri all three points.

“Everyone knows the job they have to do, and it’s logical that, given the quality we have, everything becomes more straightforward.

“The nicest thing for me is seeing that the team are capable of playing at the same levels even after I’ve made five changes.

http://markting10.nl/

“I'm really happy with all the lads and I knew whoever I picked would have put in a great performance. Everyone works in the same way during training because all my players need to be ready for action.

“When you're a goal ahead and have the chance to kill the game off, you need to, because anything can happen.

“If we think about Llorente’s missed opportunity, with the game stretched, and the risk we took in allowing them to come back at us on the counter, we can see how dangerous failure to close the game is.”

Conte: 'Juve tune doesn't change'

9gzhw3.jpg

Dec 7, 2013

Antonio Conte was pleased to see Juventus “did not change the tune despite different performers” as they beat Bologna 2-0.

http://markting10.nl/

He rotated his squad for Friday night’s trip to the Stadio Dall’Ara, but emerged with a seventh consecutive Serie A victory with a clean sheet.

“We know that we have men of quality and an organised system that carries on regardless of who is playing,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“I think we can praise Fabio Quagliarella, who played with intensity even when defending. Mirko Vucinic had also been doing well, but then had to come off with a knock to the knee.

http://markting10.nl/

“Juventus did not change the tune despite different performers and that is the best thing about this victory. I said before the game I wasn’t worried, as I train everyone the same way because they all have to be ready when called upon.

“We should’ve finished Bologna off earlier, such as that incredible chance for Fernando Llorente, as after that we risked conceding an equaliser.

“Llorente is doing better and proving why we signed him. He’s improving in terms of determination, of protecting the ball and providing assists, so now has to target being a hitman and we must help him achieve that.”

http://markting10.nl/

Juve are therefore still top of the table and could further extend their lead over Roma this weekend.

“Last season we ran into a few difficulties at the beginning. This year I yelled ‘danger’ right from the summer, but I have a hyper-critical group who hear what I have to say and consider it carefully.”

http://markting10.nl/

The Old Lady now needs at least a point in Istanbul to qualify for the Champions League Round of 16.

“We don’t need speeches against Galatasaray,” noted Conte. “We made qualification more difficult for ourselves and it’s only right we now have to resolve the situation.”
