Sevilla Target Set To Stay At Juventus

http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2015/08/sevilla-target-set-to-stay-at-juventus/?

Aug 25, 2015

Despite drawing interest from Sevilla, Fernando Llorente is now likely to stay at Juventus.

The former Athletic Club striker was in poor form last season scoring just seven goals in 25 starts for Bianconeri last season, and following the signing of Mario Mandzukic was expecting to have his playing time severely limited this season.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, however, due to recent developments surrounding Simone Zaza and his proposed move to West Ham, the Spaniard looks set to stay at the Juventus Stadium.

Moreover, reports that The Old Lady’s move for Julian Draxler is also off, only reinforces Llorente’s position at the Turin based club.

In his first season with Juventus the 30-year-old scored 16 goals in 29 starts in Serie A. He also netted another two in the Champions League.

Sevilla agree Llorente deal

http://www.football-italia.net/71617/report-sevilla-agree-llorente-deal?

Aug 26, 2015

Reports in Spain claim Sevilla have agreed a €10m deal for Juventus striker Fernando Llorente.

It was revealed last night that the Liga club had rekindled their interest in the big forward, delaying Simone Zaza’s prospective move to West Ham United.

AS is reporting that a transfer has been agreed, with Llorente set to return to Spain in a €10m deal, two seasons after leaving Athletic Club.

In addition, Sevilla are believed to be interested in wing-back Mauricio Isla, spent last season at Queens Park Rangers, having been deemed surplus to requirements by the Bianconeri.

Rojiblancos striker Kevin Gameiro also spoke to the newspaper, but isn’t sure whether Llorente will arrive.

“We don’t know whether or not Llorente will come,” the French striker admitted.

“If he comes it would be good for the team, because we have a lot of matches in various competitions, and we need a good squad to deal with that.

“I’m working hard to be in [Coach Unai] Emery’s starting line-up, then we’ll see what happens and who plays.

“Emery likes every striker to score 15 or 20 goals, Llorente and I have very different characteristics, I’m sure we could play together if he comes to Sevilla.

“We’d prove that in training.”

Fernando Llorente on the brink of move to Sevilla

http://www.blackwhitereadallover.com/2015/8/26/9209781/fernando-llorente-juventus-sevilla-la-liga-serie-a-summer-transfer-rumors-2015

Aug 26, 2015

The ever-evolving duel for which of Juventus' fourth- or fifth-choice strikers will actually be leaving Turin this summer has swung back to the "Fernando Llorente is heading back to Spain" camp.

According to reports out of both Italy and Spain early Wednesday, Llorente is set to return to his homeland after Juventus and Sevilla agreed to a deal for the 30-year-old striker worth a reported €10 million transfer fee. If the reports are indeed true and Llorente does head out — on loan or on a permanent transfer — this summer, it will cap off a long-winded couple of months that has seen a handful of teams try and sign Llorente, but saw nothing ultimately materialize.

Well, until now, of course.

Khaled Al Nouss @KhaledAlNouss
Llorente's transfer to Sevilla is almost a done deal. Mauricio Isla could also join Sevilla, according to @romeoagresti.

And there's also this:

Fernando Llorente and Juventus are set to go their separate ways as Spanish side Sevilla close in on confirming the strikers move to Southern Spain. It is not clear at the moment whether the player will arrive on loan initially but this is thought to be Sevilla's preferred option. Llorente looks to be returning to Spain in the very near future.

(Source: Gianluca Di Marzio)

The other end of the equation is that with Llorente potentially leaving Turin is that another striker who in his own right has been rumored to be departing, Simone Zaza, likely won't be going to West Ham. Or at least you would thin that's the case despite the fact Juventus and West Ham reportedly agreed to a loan deal to bring Zaza to England on loan with an option to buy.

And in the last few days, anything when it came to which Juventus striker would stay around for the recently-started Serie A season seemed anything but certain. First it looked like Llorente would go, then the Zaza rumors popped up out of the blue following Juventus' loss to Udinese on Sunday, and now we're back to Llorente heading back to Spain.

Aren't transfer rumors fun? Yeah, they are. Except when some of them means we don't get to sing Abba around here anymore. "Can you hear the drums, Fernando........"

Llorente to Sevilla for free

http://www.football-italia.net/71632/llorente-sevilla-free

Aug 26, 2015

Fernando Llorente is due to terminate his Juventus contract and to undergo Sevilla medicals tomorrow, so Simone Zaza stays.

Reports in Spain are confident the clubs have agreed terms for a double move.

Llorente was the main target and it’s believed Sevilla will pay €10m to have the Spaniard on a permanent basis.

Chile international Mauricio Isla could also be included on loan as part of the package.

If Llorente is sold, then that means Zaza won’t be going to West Ham United on loan after all.

However, the version given by Sky Sport Italia, La giornalaccio rosa dello Sport and SportItalia is that Juve will simply terminate Llorente's contract early.

This means Sevilla can get him for free and the Bianconeri will save €20m on his wages.

Otherwise, Juventus would make a huge profit on centre-forward Llorente, who arrived as a free agent two years ago from Athletic Bilbao.

He will partner another ex-Juve striker, Ciro Immobile, who is at Sevilla on loan from Borussia Dortmund.

Llorente set to join Sevilla

The Spanish striker is on the verge of leaving Juventus following
the summer arrivals of Mario Mandzukic, Paulo Dybala and Simone Zaza.

Fernando Llorente is set to leave Juventus for Sevilla, Goal understands.

The two clubs are yet to agree a fee, but the Bianconeri have reduced their initial asking price of €15 million to €12m and the eventual fee could be even less than that as an agreement draws closer.

A season-long loan deal remains an option for both clubs, though Llorente has given the green light to a permanent move to the Europa League holders.

Llorente is surplus to requirements after Juve signed Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic and Simone Zaza this summer following the sale of Carlos Tevez to Boca Juniors.

Head coach Massimiliano Allegri could also allow Mauricio Isla to leave for Sevilla, though negotiations over that deal are in their early stages.

The wing-back spent last season on loan at QPR and the arrival of Juan Cuadrado from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal means he is again likely to be on the fringes of the Juve squad.

Fernando Llorente set to take
Sevilla medical on Thursday

As it turns out, the latest set of rumors about Fernando Llorente's future in Turin proved to be right on the money.

The big Spaniard is in his final hours as a Juventus player. But those final hours aren't being spent alongside Álvaro Morata or Claudio Marchisio taking selfies and posting them to Facebook and Instagram. Llorente has made the trip from Italy to Spain Wednesday night where he's all set to take his medical examinations in anticipation of his transfer to back to his homeland with Sevilla.

Yes, the same transfer to Sevilla that was talked about in both the Italian and Spanish media over the last 24 hours.

Sevilla FC ✔@SevillaFC_ENG

Ah, man. It's actually happening. Some transfer rumors prove to be true.

Earlier Wednesday morning there were reports that Llorente would be joining Sevilla for a transfer fee of around €10 million. But now those same media outlets in Italy are reporting that Juventus won't be receiving a transfer fee for the Spanish striker — something that is likely connected to Sevilla paying his lofty wages and the money Juventus will be saving because of it.

We can speculate what Llorente heading out to Spain means for Simone Zaza's future all we want, but the big Spaniard moving on has been talked about from pretty much the beginning of the summer until now. We've heard about possible destinations in England, Spain, France and even Turkey a couple of times. None of those had come to fruition until now, with Sevilla being one of the first clubs linked with Llorente and now, obviously, the team that will sign him.

Now let's just hope that Juventus don't get drawn with Sevilla in the Champions League group stage. Seeing Fernando in another jersey right off the bat will make me so, so sad. I don't care what anybody else says.

Fernando Llorente has sent a message of thanks to Juventus fans as he prepares to complete a move to Sevilla.

The striker is on the verge of sealing a return to La Liga after being deemed surplus to requirements at the Italian champions for the 2015-16 season.

Despite failing to replicate the impressive form he showed in his prime for Athletic Bilbao during his two-year spell in Turin, Llorente has paid tribute to the supporters for making him feel welcome.

Llorente passes Sevilla medical

http://www.football-italia.net/71661/llorente-passes-sevilla-medical?

Aug 27, 2015

Juventus’ Fernando Llorente has reportedly passed his medical with Sevilla and is expected to sign a contract shortly.

Estadio Deportivo writes that the striker passed his medical tests with the Europa League holders this morning and will now head to the club offices to sign a deal.

The Spaniard appears set to terminate his Juventus contract so that the Andalucian side can sign him for free and the Bianconeri can save €20m on his wages.

Llorente joined the Old Lady in 2013 and has scored 23 goals in 65 appearances for the Turin giants, but faced the exit door after the arrivals of Mario Mandzukic, Paulo Dybala and Simone Zaza.

OFFICIAL: Sevilla sign Llorente

The striker has joined the Europa League holders
after becoming surplus to requirements at Juventus.

http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2015/08/27/14801872/-?

Aug 27, 2015

Sevilla have confirmed the signing of Fernando Llorente from Juventus on a free transfer.

The striker has signed a three-year contract with the Europa League holders, while his release clause has been set at €20 million.

Juventus had been holding out for a fee, but have reached an agreement with Llorente to terminate his contract.

The 30-year-old has spent the last two seasons in Turin, scoring 27 goals in 92 matches, but was surplus to requirements following the summer signings of Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic and Simone Zaza.

Llorente will hope to be Sevilla's first choice centre forward after they sold Carlos Bacca to AC Milan earlier this summer.

The former Athletic Bilbao man will also be keen to replicate his form from his first spell in Spain. He enjoyed nine seasons at San Mames, where he scored 111 goals in 327 games before leaving for Juve.

Sevilla have officially confirmed the signing of Juventus striker Fernando Llorente on a free transfer.

The Spanish international had been linked with a move away from Turin all summer, and flew to Seville for his medical today.

Juventus confirm Llorente depature

http://www.football-italia.net/71674/juventus-confirm-llorente-depature?

Aug 27, 2015

Juventus have confirmed Fernando Llorente’s move to Sevilla, after terminating his contract by ‘mutual consent’.

The striker’s move to the Rojiblancos was confirmed earlier today, with the Spanish international signing a three-year deal with a buyout clause of €20m.

“Striker Fernando Llorente has today completed a return to his native Spain, joining reigning Europa League Champions Sevilla on a permanent transfer after having his Juventus contract terminated by mutual consent,” the Bianconeri confirmed in a statement.

“Llorente had a knack for scoring decisive goals in important matches, including his very first in the black and white stripes in a 2-1 victory against Hellas Verona in September 2013 and a memorable headed equaliser against Real Madrid two months later at Juventus Stadium.

“A force to be reckoned with on the pitch, polite and amiable off it, El Rey Leon demonstrated a tireless work ethic during his time at the club and reaped just rewards with goals and silverware.

“Everyone associated with Juventus Football Club would like to wish Fernando all the best for his new adventure in the south of Spain.”

OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL: Juventus striker
Fernando Llorente signs with Sevilla

Even as Álvaro Morata took his starting spot last season, Fernando Llorente never publicly complained. If anything, he only continued to be the model professional that he always has been — one that takes selfies with the younger, more dynamic Spanish striker who just dethroned him.

That's what Llorente was like from the day he signed with Juventus until today, the day where he officially joined Sevilla on a free transfer. The details of the move that sees Fernando head back to his homeland, courtesy of Juventus' official website:

God, he's so classy. So incredibly classy.

You don't see that from a lot of players. But when it comes to Llorente, he absolutely cherished his time in Turin despite it being relatively short compared to others. His first season was far and away better than his second, but you never would have known it by the way he conducted himself off the field. And that's what many of us appreciated about Llorente. He might have been one of the highest paid players on the squad, but he didn't change anything about his ultra-professional ways.

There were goals — especially in the 2013-14 season where he got 18 goals in all competitions — and there were plenty of good times. Llorente wasn't as big of a contributor last season, but his value to getting Juventus to where it finished the last two years can't be missed or under-appreciated.

We thank you, Fernando, for being you. We will miss the selfies, we will miss all the Abba references.

Llorente relishes Juve reunion

http://www.football-italia.net/71748/llorente-relishes-juve-reunion?

Aug 28, 2015

Fernando Llorente is overjoyed to be facing Juventus in the Champions League after his move to Sevilla.

The striker only completed his transfer yesterday, terminating his contract by mutual consent to become a free agent.

“It is wonderful that we are going to Turin, as I spent two marvellous years there,” Llorente told Spanish reporters after the Champions League draw.

Juventus host Sevilla on September 30, as they were placed in Group D along with Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach.

“I think we are capable of challenging any of the top clubs in Europe. We’ll tough to take down.

“There were other offers, but my first choice was always Sevilla. I agreed to terminate the contract with Juventus.

“I think we have a great group of people here, which is something fundamental, and we can win trophies for Sevilla. This club has been growing a great deal over the last few years.”
