Pogba 'worth twice as much as Bale'

Aug 27, 2013

Agent Mino Raiola insists Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba “is worth at least twice as much as Gareth Bale.”

The representative is well-known for making headline-grabbing statements about his clients and laughed off reports Arsenal had made a £20m offer for Pogba.

http://markting10.nl/

“How much does Pogba cost? Certainly more than Bale,” Raiola told Sky Sport Italia.

“If Bale is worth €120m, then Paul is worth at least twice as much. Pogba is a Salvador Dali painting, while Mario Balotelli is the Mona Lisa.”

Real Madrid are still trying to push through a transfer worth over £100m for Welsh wizard Bale, which would be a new world record.

Pogba was signed as a free agent when his Manchester United contract expired last summer, but has quickly become a key figure for Juventus.

The 20-year-old already has a senior cap for France and won the Under-20 World Cup last month.

Raiola also commented on some of his other clients around Europe.

“I spoke to Milan and M’Baye Niang will not move. There were some clubs who requested him, but unless something amazing happens, he will stay at Milan.

“Zlatan Ibrahimovic will 100 per cent stay at Paris Saint-Germain.”

'Pogba worth twice as much as Bale,' says agent

The agent of the 20-year-old France and Juventus midfielder, Mino Raiola,
believes that if Gareth Bale is worth €100 million, his player is worth double.

Aug 28, 2013

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba is worth twice as much as Real Madrid-bound winger Gareth Bale, according to his agent.

The 20-year-old Frenchman is one of the most highly rated young players in Europe, and his representative Mino Raiola says Pogba is worth comfortably more than the 24-year-old Welshman.

http://markting10.nl/

"How good is Paul? He's worth more than Gareth Bale, that's for sure," he told Sky Sport Italia.

"If Bale is worth €100 million, Pogba is worth at least double that.

"It's not my fault that [Madrid president] Florentino Perez has fixed the price of Bale at €100m. Pogba is, for me, a Salvador Dali because he is precious and important."

Pogba joined the Old Lady from Manchester United in 2012, and has established himself as a key player in Antonio Conte's title-winning side.

Bale, meanwhile, looks set for a move to los Blancos, in a deal that will see him become the most expensive player in the history of the game, eclipsing Cristiano Ronaldo's €94m move to the Bernabeu in 2009.

Juventus: Real Madrid asked about Pogba

Juve's director general Giuseppe Marotta says Madrid's club president Florentino Perez
made enquiries into the Frenchman's availability but he told him the player is not for sale.

Aug 30, 2013

Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta has claimed Real Madrid have made enquiries into signing Paul Pogba but the club rejected their approach.

The young French midfielder impressed for the Serie A champions last season and that form attracted interest from los Blancos, according to Juve's director general.

http://markting10.nl/

Speaking at Thursday's Champions League draw in Monte Carlo, Marotta said the Turin giants turned down an approach for Pogba from Madrid.

"Florentino Perez enquired about him but there were no negotiations," Marotta told Sky Sport Italia.

The 20-year-old has become a key player in Antonio Conte's side following a switch from Manchester United in the summer of 2012.

The midfielder clocked up 38 appearances in all competitions for Juve last season, and made his senior France debut at the beginning of 2013 and Marotta insists they want to hold on to their star man,

He said: "We have no intention of selling him as he's no yet expressed his full potential."

Paul Pogba’s Time to Shine

Sep 2, 2013

Years of adjective abuse have left football fans almost immune to reading the praise of players. Laden as it is with terms cheapened beyond all recognition, the game is littered with false idols and forgotten heroes who were prematurely labelled ‘World class’ or tagged as the next big thing. Such lazy narratives and poor journalism have left us with no way of saying something too positive without sounding ridiculously hyperbolic, or looking like an opinion piece is merely trawling for hits.

http://markting10.nl/

It is into such a vacuous landscape that many articles about Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba have been flung in recent months. Often, the words ‘Manchester’ and ‘United’ are hamfistedly crowbarred into their titles, largely because search engine optimisation is the troll equivalent of catnip, and is the entire reason many of these pieces are even penned in the first place.

The young Frenchman has become the darling of headline writers, quick to make use of nicknames such as JuventiKnows own ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Pogba’ (which remains brilliant!) or the well thought out ‘Polpo Paul’, bestowed by commentator Claudio Zuliani in homage to Marcel Desailly. The player’s penchant for Balotelli-esque hairstyles and the prominence of racist chants in his direction have also served to ensure the twenty year old is never far from the front page of Italy’s sports dailies.

For me, it is easy to admit that when it came to Pogba I was hugely skeptical. Where and when would he get on the pitch I asked, convinced that Juventus was far too heavily stacked in midfield for him to ever find a reasonable amount of playing time. The rumored high wages of his new contract, the way he left first Le Havre and then Old Trafford only added to my personal doubts. Those concerns were also multiplied infinitely by the additional issues that dealing with his representative – none other than the vomit inducing Mino Raiola himself – would bring upon the already under pressure management of the club.

With Beppe Marotta being criticised from all angles, I’ll readily admit that at this time last year I could see no real benefit in bringing Pogba to Turin. While my opinion ultimately counts for nought, I was far from the only one expressing doubts. United and Sir Alex Ferguson were so desperate to hang onto him as their own midfield lay bereft of quality, many saw his departure as yet another example of the agent driven greed which has spoiled so many promising young talents.

However, in spite of all these factors, and in a squad boasting some of Europe’s very best midfielders, Pogba still enjoyed a breakthrough season. In a squad which had won the Serie A title in the season prior to his arrival, for a coach who has a seemingly pathological fear of fielding young players or rotating his lineup, he amassed thirty eight appearances.

Well, I say ‘in spite” but perhaps ‘because’ would be much more accurate. Yes, BECAUSE he left Manchester United, BECAUSE of all the doubts, BECAUSE Andrea Pirlo, Claudio Marchisio, Arturo Vidal and Kwadwo Asamoah are his team-mates and BECAUSE he defied Sir Alex Ferguson, Pogba enjoyed a debut season very few people connected with Juventus will ever forget.

Because, when all is said and done, Paul Pogba is an extremely talented footballer.

Even just the bare statistics of his 2012-13 season tell the story of a supremely well rounded player. His tally of five goals – including match winners against Napoli, Bologna and Udinese – barely scratches the surface of a contribution that shows him to be excellent in the air, a superb defender and an intelligent distributor of the ball. His per game averages of 2.5 tackles, 1.5 interceptions and 1.8 clearances prove how much cover he provided the back three, while the 2.3 aerial duels he won were only bettered at Juventus by Giorgio Chiellini (2.8).

“We started working on him a year ago and his progress has been incredible. I saw his interviews in which he said he wanted to become the best in the world. I am happy with that, because in my view he can be the best.”
-Antonio Conte

He created 31 clear goal scoring opportunities last term, a figure which – given the arrival of far more clinical strikers this summer- will undoubtedly lead to an increase in the number of assists Pogba records. Indeed, after failing to register any in the previous campaign, he has already made three this year. The first was setting up Carlos Tevez for the fourth strike in the Super Cup rout of Lazio. paul-pogba-juventus-dribblingHis second assist gave Tevez for the only goal of the league opener against Sampdoria. The third came in just week two against Lazio. Those chances are born out of his smart use of the ball as he completed 83% of his 1,037 pass attempts (38.4 per game).

It hasn’t all been smooth sailing however, with the player suspended in May for spitting at an opponent who slapped him, and dropped for November’s trip to Pescara. That incident stemmed from Pogba twice being late to training, something he later described as “a mistake.” He was quick to make amends however, displaying a maturity he was often accused of lacking in the English tabloid press. “I will do my utmost to make sure I do not make the same mistake again,” he told TuttoSport. “I will not be late again in the future. The matter is closed now as far as I’m concerned.”

Conte took the same approach, barely mentioning it in public and treating the player very differently than Sir Alex Ferguson previously had. Speaking to France Football in May, the midfielder recounted his first conversation with his new coach, telling them that the former Juventus captain had pushed all the right buttons;

“He said ‘If you think you can establish yourself here, come, and we’ll see if you’re able to do it, show us what you can do.’ He pushed me, he struck where it was needed to convince me. I like being given challenges like that. I like indirect provocation,”

Manchester United losing out on him has been lamented, lambasted and laughed at, but it seems the player was inspired by the manner of his exit. The desire to prove his choice to leave was not wrong, to supplant one of the established Bianconeri trio in midfield and repay the faith of Conte is what drives him.

As Pogba went on to say in that same France Football interview; “That’s my goal: to be the best in my position, then the best in Europe and then the world. That’s what I want to do, what I would like to do.” With the startling progress he is making, Paul Pogba might yet just pull it off.

Pogba can play in Pirlo role

Sep 5, 2013

Paul Pogba will be asked to dictate play for Juventus this season when Andrea Pirlo is unavailable, says boss Antonio Conte.

The Frenchman is currently being used on the left of the three central midfielders given the injury to Claudio Marchisio.

http://markting10.nl/

But Conte, speaking to the Corriere dello Sport, thinks he has the ability to be given the playmaker responsibility if necessary.

“Pirlo is a champion who can’t be equalled and there is nobody in Italy, even if some are getting better, with his characteristics, his direction or who can give such peace of mind to the squad," stated the Coach.

“That being said, Pogba can fill the vice-Pirlo role. He already did that last season and, if there is the need, he can mask the absence of Andrea even if they have different characteristics.

“Paul is a modern midfielder who can play in any midfield role because of his physique, fitness and his ability to break into attack.

“He is a complete player, although one who still has big margins of improvement to make.”

The 20-year-old, now a full France international, joined Juve from Manchester United a year ago.

Pogba wants wages quadrupled?

Sep 6, 2013

According to Sport Mediaset, Paul Pogba’s agent has asked Juventus to quadruple his wages.

The 20-year-old midfielder arrived a year ago on a free transfer from Manchester United and has quickly become a mainstay in the squad.

http://markting10.nl/

However, he still earns only a reported €0.8m per season and a new contract is going to be thrashed out.

Sport Mediaset claim Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has demanded wages of €4m per season, whereas the offer from Juventus is closer to €1.5m.

The France international has become hot property on the transfer market after Juve turned down a £20m bid from Arsenal this summer.

Pogba will play Pirlo role says Juventus coach

Sep 6, 2013

Paul Pogba will be drafted into Andrea Pirlo’s creative midfield role when the 34-year-old is unavailable, says Juve boss Antonio Conte.

http://markting10.nl/

Due to the injury currently to Claudio Marchisio, Pogba is playing on the left of a three man central midfield.

But Conte, speaking to Corriere dello Sport, is of the opinion that the Frenchman can succeed with the playmaker responsibility.

“Pirlo is a champion who can’t be equaled and there is nobody in Italy, even if some are getting better, with his characteristics, his direction or who can give such peace of mind to the squad,” stated the coach.

Pogba, now a full France international, has impressed greatly in Turin since making the move from Manchester United.

Pogba eyes Ballon d'Or

The midfielder is clear about his ambition of becoming the world's best,
but insists he will be keeping his feet firmly on the ground.

Sep 7, 2013

Juventus starlet Paul Pogba has claimed he will not be satisfied until he wins the Ballon d'Or.

The 20-year-old has been a standout performer for his club since moving to Turin on a free transfer after leaving Manchester United last summer and was rewarded with his first France call-up in March.

http://markting10.nl/

But the midfield prodigy, who was also recognised as the best player at the Under-20 World Cup en route to captaining his side to victory in July, is refusing to rest on his laurels until he is crowned the world's best player.

"I won the World Cup and was named the best player and it was all beautiful," Pogba recalled to L'Equipe. "But I do not feel like king of the world.

"I will not stop there, because I have not yet won the Ballon d'Or."

Suspension means Pogba has been absent from les Bleus' squad for their World Cup 2014 qualifiers with Georgia and Belarus but he is likely to feature when France are in action again in October.

Pogba: 'I've done nothing yet'

Sep 8, 2013

Paul Pogba is now a Juventus fan favourite, but insists he’s “not a King or Ballon d’Or winner, so I can’t stop now.”

http://markting10.nl/

The 20-year-old former Manchester United midfielder is already a full France international, a regular starter for Juve and won the Under-20 World Cup.

“Nothing has changed for me,” Pogba told French newspaper L’Equipe.

“People do not look at me differently. Winning the Under-20 World Cup was fantastic and it was great to be voted best player of the tournament.

“However, these things don’t make you King of the world. I haven’t won the Ballon d’Or. I can’t stop now.”

Pogba: 'Nobody is like Juve'

Sep 12, 2013

Paul Pogba reveals he turned down offers from “Chelsea, Arsenal and Milan, because nobody is like Juventus.”

http://markting10.nl/

The 20-year-old France international arrived on a free transfer when his contract with Manchester United expired and has quickly become a key figure in the Bianconeri midfield.

“Since childhood I’ve always liked Juve and supported that team,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“For the French this club means a great deal, as so many French champions played in Turin, so that’s why I liked them.

“Sir Alex Ferguson tried to keep me at Manchester United, but he didn’t get very far. Were other clubs tracking me? Yes, but I only had Juve in my mind. At the time I heard from Chelsea, Arsenal and Milan, but nobody is like Juve.

“I am happy to be here and I want to win many trophies with this jersey.”

Pogba: I snubbed Chelsea, Arsenal & Milan for Juventus

The Serie A star says he preferred to join the Bianconeri in 2012,
despite many European giants chasing for his signature at the time.

Sep 12, 2013

Paul Pogba says he was unwilling to listen to offers from Chelsea, Arsenal and AC Milan ahead of his switch from Manchester United to Juventus.

http://markting10.nl/

The French youngster joined the Red Devils' youth academy in 2009 from Le Havre but, was unable to force his way into the first team, making just three Premier League appearances.

However, the midfielder says as soon as Juventus were enquiring about his services, former United coach Sir Alex Ferguson could no longer persuade him to stay at Old Trafford.

"Sir Alex Ferguson tried to keep me at Manchester United, but he didn’t get very far," the 20-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.

"Other clubs were tracking me but I only had Juve in my mind. At the time, I heard from Chelsea, Arsenal and Milan, but nobody is like Juve."

The Bianconeri have seen world-class French midfield players play at the club, including Michel Platini, Didier Deschamps and Zinedine Zidane.

Pogba says having the opportunity to emulate those footballing greats was a key factor behind his decision to move to Turin.

"Since childhood I’ve always liked Juve and supported that team," he added.

"For the French this club means a great deal, as so many French champions played in Turin, so that’s why I liked them.

"I am happy to be here and I want to win many trophies with this jersey."

Pogba has so far won the Supercoppa Italiana twice and Serie A once.

Pogba & Pirlo set for new deals

Sep 24, 2013

Paul Pogba and Andrea Pirlo are set for contract talks with Juventus, according to reports in the Italian Press.

http://markting10.nl/

The Italy international’s current deal expires next summer, and Sky Sport Italia insist that the Bianconeri will sit down with the veteran soon and discuss an extension.

The channel also confirms that the Old Lady will discuss a long-term contract with the French youngster after his impressive performances since arriving from Manchester United.

Pogba’s existing deal ends in 2016, but Antonio Conte’s side are desperate to keep him in Turin.

Pogba: I left Manchester United
because of Ferguson's New Year's Eve snub

The Frenchman was seen as one of the brightest talents to come through the Red Devils'
academy in years, but elected to move to Serie A in 2012 due to a lack of opportunities.

Oct 6, 2013

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has revealed that he left Manchester United because he was overlooked by Sir Alex Ferguson for a game against Blackburn at the end of 2011.

http://markting10.nl/

Pogba, 20, found himself on the fringes of the United first team throughout the 2011-12 season, and promptly left for Turin despite being tipped for a long, successful career at Old Trafford.

The Frenchman's frustrations peaked when he was overlooked for a starting berth against Blackburn, a match United would lose 3-2, even though there was something of an injury crisis in midfield at the time.

"I said to Ferguson: 'Play me, and I will show you if I'm ready or not'," he told Telefoot. "Against Blackburn, on December 31, 2011, I was on the bench. Ferguson puts Rafael in midfield with Ji Sung Park. Then I gave up. I was really bummed.

http://markting10.nl/

"I joined Juve to silence people who have criticised me, who did not believe in me and said that I would fail."

Ferguson claimed at the time that the young midfielder had shown a lack of respect in the way he and his agent, Mino Raiola, had agreed a deal with the Bianconeri behind United's back.

Since then, Pogba has become a key component of Antonio Conte's Juventus side, and cemented his reputation as one of the best young players in the world by winning the Golden Ball for his performances for France at this summer's Under-20 World Cup.

Goal understands that United, cautioned by their experience with Pogba, are preparing an unprecedented contract offer for young Belgian Adnan Januzaj, whose contract expires at the end of this season.

Evra: Pogba a huge loss

Oct 8, 2013

Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has claimed that Paul Pogba’s move to Juventus was a ‘huge loss’.

http://markting10.nl/

The French midfielder left Old Trafford in 2011 to sign on a free for the Bianconeri, and his countryman has admitted it was a massive departure for the Premier League team.

“Someone with Pogba’s talent and personality are rare things,” Evra told reporters. “He was a boy who was respected by the older players like Giggs and Scholes.

“Even if he did not make an impression on the Coach, he made an impression on his teammates.

“It was a huge loss for us.”

Pogba was a huge loss to Manchester United, says Evra

The France defender has hailed the midfielder's power and aggression and says
he was highly thought of by both Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes during his time at Old Trafford.

Oct 8, 2013

Patrice Evra says Paul Pogba's decision to leave Manchester United for Juventus was a “truly a huge loss” for the club.

The France international left Old Trafford in the summer of 2012, going on to win the Serie A title in his first season with Juventus.

http://markting10.nl/

However, Evra has hailed Pogba’s qualities and says he was well-respected at the club, particularly by some of the Red Devils' most experienced players.

“Pogba's talent on the pitch, his aggression, his presence, is very rare," said Evra told French TV station TF1.

“He very quickly earned the respect of players like Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes.

“It’s true that have you have to win over the manager too, but to have won the dressing room like he did [was impressive].

“It was truly a huge loss when he left the club.”

http://markting10.nl/

The powerful midfielder has recently blamed Sir Alex Ferguson for his decision to leave the club, particularly after he was left out of a game, in a match United went on to lose 3-2.

"Against Blackburn, on December 31, 2011, I was on the bench. Ferguson puts Rafael in midfield with Ji Sung Park. Then I gave up. I was really bummed," he told Telefoot.

"I joined Juve to silence people who have criticised me, who did not believe in me and said that I would fail."

Pogba: Juventus will beat Real Madrid at least once

The fearless France international says he is not remotely frightened by the prospect
of having to pick up points from their double-header with los Blancos.

Oct 9, 2013

Paul Pogba says he is not in the least bit afraid of Real Madrid, claiming that Juventus will win "at least" one of their upcoming Champions League clashes with the Spanish giants.

http://markting10.nl/

The Bianconeri have drawn their opening two games in Group B, against Copenhagen and Galatasaray, meaning they must pick up points in their double-header against los Blancos if they are to have a real chance of progressing to the knockout stages.

On paper, it looks like a daunting task, but Pogba is not in the least bit perturbed by the prospect of first travelling to the Santiago Bernabeu on October 23 in search of a positive result.

"There's nothing to fear," the 20-year-old France international told giornalaccio rosa dello Sport. "We will beat Real at least once and we will go forward.

"We are Juve; we must never forget that. Because of the history, prestige and quality of this club, we are inferior to no-one.

"And for this reason, Real Madrid do not scare me. Juventus is on the same level of all the European greats.

"We can even win in Madrid." :|

http://markting10.nl/

Just over a year after leaving Manchester United for Juventus, Pogba has established himself as one of the most exciting young midfielders in the game.

However, he says all the praise he is currently receiving will not go to his head, as he has two perfect role models at Juventus in Andrea Pirlo and Gianluigi Buffon.

"I'm still nobody; What have I done? Nothing at all," the France international reasoned.

"I look at Pirlo and Buffon, and I learn about what it is to be a true champion.

"Those two have won it all, they are monsters, but they do not give an inch - not even in training."

Even though he only arrived in Turin last summer, there has been speculation that Pogba could soon be lured away by another member of Europe's elite, with even Madrid mentioned as a possible destination.

http://markting10.nl/

The Under-20 World Cup winner freely admits that he does not know what the future holds for him, but is still keen to reassure Juventus fan that he is loving life in Italy.

"Certain promises are meaningless," Pogba mused. "How can someone today make an hypothesis on an entire career? I don't take anyone for a ride.

"And so, I look at the present and I say that I 'm happy here in Turin.

"I love everything about this club: directors, coaches , team-mates and fans. And, at the moment, I do not see anywhere else other than Juventus."

Pogba is currently away on international duty with France.

Pogba: I love Juventus

Oct 9, 2013

Paul Pogba has reflected on his future at Juventus, why he chose Serie A, how Milan was a possible turning point this term and on trying to beat Real Madrid.

http://markting10.nl/

The Frenchman has impressed in his opening work with the Bianconeri and has subsequently attracted speculation regarding his future.

“The fans of Juve are afraid of losing me? I am still not anyone. What have I done? Nothing in fact,” offered Pogba as reassurance in today’s edition of the giornalaccio rosa dello Sport.

“I look to Pirlo and Buffon, and I know what it takes to be a true champion. Those two have won it all, they are greats, but they do not give an inch, even in training.

“Juve for life? Certain promises do not make sense, I will not kid anyone. How can I today determine my whole career? It makes no sense.

http://markting10.nl/

“And then I look at now and say that I am happy here in Turin, I love everything about this club - the managers, the Coaches, my teammates and the fans. And at the moment I do not see myself anywhere that isn’t Juventus.”

Pogba is into a second season with the Bianconeri having joined in 2012 after allowing his Manchester United contract to run down.

“Why did I choose Italy? Serie A is the university of football, especially at a tactical level. A midfielder who breaks through in Italy can really aspire to be the best in the world in his position.

“I said to myself: ‘Paul, Italy is the shortcut to a more secure breakthrough’. And then, of course, was the call of Juventus, one of the biggest clubs in the world…

http://markting10.nl/

“I am lucky and I lucked into Antonio Conte. I’m getting better every day. Conte works, hammers, he is not satisfied, hungry, and just wants to win.

“I could not ask for anything better as a teacher at this stage of my career. [France Coach Didier] Deschamps is also very similar to Conte.”

The midfielder considered his reference points in the game and at his current club.

“From the start my idol was Ricky Kaka, whilst I have modelled myself on two players - Yaya Toure and Abou Diaby, even in physical aspects. I am very similar to them.

“At Juve, Pirlo, Marchisio and Vidal are my references. In each training session I try to steal something from them.

http://markting10.nl/

“One can reach perfection with the technique of Claudio, the aggressiveness of Arturo and the brilliant and clean movement of Andrea.”

Juve are so far third in Serie A, two points behind leaders Roma.

“I have seen on TV the Giallorossi in particular, I have watched them, they are very strong, they have great players, but if we find our football then no-one can stop us.

“What are we still not getting right? We concede too many goals, often for our distractions, something that should not exist when you have the best defence in the world.

http://markting10.nl/

“Yes we are as strong as ever for who we have, this is a question of something in general. And to me it is clear - we need the Juve of last year, the one that went into the field to tear apart opponents, who hit and frightened everyone right from the start, that did not slow up for 90 minutes.

“We must wake up and immediately find the correct mentality - enough gifts, as you pay in the long run. But, I believe that we have…

“Indeed, after the 20 minutes where we were in trouble against Milan, in the League it may prove to be the right spark, the turning point of our season.”

http://markting10.nl/

In Europe, Juve are gearing up for a double-header against Real Madrid.

“We must pick up points against Real Madrid. I am not worried, we will beat Real Madrid at least once and advance from the group.

“We are Juve, we must never forget that. The history, prestige and quality of this club is not inferior to anyone. And for this reason I am not scared of Real Madrid.

“Juve are at the level of the largest clubs in Europe. We can win against Madrid.”

The 20-year-old was asked of his experiences with racism in Italy.

http://markting10.nl/

“The word ‘negro’ is badly used a little everywhere - in Italy, France, England, Spain and even in Africa there are forms of racism.

“Often it is sheer ignorance of people saying things that they do not understand. In general, however, it must be given high attention.

“Of course it is crazy to be here to talk about certain things in 2013. In the future I would like to become someone more credible in the fight against racism.”

Juventus resigned to losing Pogba

The France international has attracted interest from clubs throughout Europe with his impressive
displays and the Bianconeri are concerned they will not be able to keep him.

Oct 10, 2013

Juventus president Andrea Agnelli has admitted the club would find it hard to refuse a “massive” offer for star midfielder Paul Pogba.

Pogba has impressed for the Bianconeri since joining from Manchester United in 2012, but Agnelli fears that Italian football’s economic uncompetitiveness could mean they lose the 20-year-old.

“If we got a massive offer for Pogba, will we be able to retain him? I don't think so, we have not got the economic strength,” said Agnelli at the Leaders in Football conference at Stamford Bridge.

“We can be attractive but I don't think we have the economic strength to fight against the others and retain such a player.

“Italy is no longer a final destination, it’s a transition destination.

“Italy needs to come into some serious reforms as at the moment we are in no-man's land. We have to reform the stadiums because that's where the shows are made.”

'Pogba wants to stay at Juventus' - Raiola

The agent for the 20-year-old midfielder claimed that his client has every intention
of staying at the Bianconeri, and revealed plans to negotiate a contract renewal.

Oct 11, 2013

Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has thrown cold water on rumours that the midfielder was set to leave Juventus.

http://markting10.nl/

Pogba, whose contract expires in June 2016, has been the subject of transfer speculation for his impressive displays since joining the Serie A champions in 2012, with club president Andrea Agnelli admitting that the 20-year-old could be sold if a sizeable offer was received.

However, Raiola has moved to downplay Agnelli’s comments and allay supporters' fears by asserting that Pogba’s camp is primarily concerned with negotiating a new deal that will allow the midfielder to remain at Juventus.

http://markting10.nl/

“He [Pogba] is fine where he is. We want to renew with Juventus and we have our clear strategy,” he revealed to Tuttosport. “Paul is very quiet and peaceful here, Juve would have no reason to worry.

“Agnelli has discovered the problem because no one, not only in Italy, but in the world, can refuse an obscene offer. But the fans no longer have to wonder.”

http://markting10.nl/

However, despite a seeming mutual interest on both sides for Pogba to renew his contract, Raiola denied that a proposal for a new deal had already been put forth by Juventus.

"Are there already any offers on the table? No, that isn't true, no offers have arrived," he admitted.

Pogba signed for Juventus on a free transfer from Manchester United in 2012 and has since been capped three times for the France national team.

‘Pogba? There is a strategy’

Oct 11, 2013

Paul Pogba’s agent has mused that no club would be able to turn down ‘an indecent offer’ for the midfielder, let alone Juventus.

http://markting10.nl/

The Bianconeri turned heads yesterday with President Andrea Agnelli’s reflection that the club would be powerless should a large bid come in for the highly-rated Frenchman.

However, on from reports that this would need to be around the €45m mark, the player’s representative has looked to ease concern.

http://markting10.nl/

“Not only Italy, but nowhere in the world can you refuse an indecent offer,” Mino Raiola commented to Tuttosport this week.

“And the fans no longer have to worry.

http://markting10.nl/

“The player’s renewal? There’s no hurry. Paul is very calm and serene. He is fine where he is. We want to renew with Juventus, but we have our clear strategy.

“Have we already had an offer from elsewhere? No, we have received nothing. And anyway, in that case, Juve would have no reason to worry.”

Chiellini unconcerned by Pogba talk

The defender isn't concerned about the France international
possibly leaving the club for another of Europe's biggest clubs.

Oct 13, 2013

Giorgio Chiellini is confident Juventus team-mate Paul Pogba will remain in Turin amid rumours linking the midfielder with a January transfer.

http://markting10.nl/

The France international has been in superb form for the Serie A champions this season, with the Bianconeri starting the campaign undefeated.

His performances have drawn reported interest from Premier League sides Arsenal, Chelsea and former side Manchester United.

But Chiellini suggested that the 20-year-old would already have departed the Juventus Stadium if the club were looking to sell.

http://markting10.nl/

"As far as Pogba is concerned, Juventus has already proved this summer that they didn't want to sell him," he said.

"There were many teams which wanted and needed to spend money: we have seen in the last days of the transfer market that there were teams which wanted to spend such an amount of money.

"This means they have a huge budget and don't know how to spend it and sometimes they even pay a player more than they wanted to.

http://markting10.nl/

"Therefore Pogba could be one of the most suitable players, but Juventus clearly said he wouldn't leave the team and he didn't leave."

However, Chiellini also admitted Pogba could depart further down the line if Juventus received an attractive offer.

He added: "As regards the future, you can't promise a player that he will remain in a team forever.

http://markting10.nl/

"In today's football world, and especially in Italy, everybody has got a price and if a club receives such an offer, then a player will leave the team.

"I believe this episode is a non-problem, it is something normal. Instead of Pogba, there could have been any other player."

Pogba: I'm happy at Juventus

The France international is keen to stay in Turin and has dismissed
suggestions that he could be on the move at the end of the season.

Oct 14, 2013

Paul Pogba has insisted that he is happy with life at Juventus and is not thinking about leaving the Serie A champions amidst reports linking him with Paris Saint-Germain.

http://markting10.nl/

Bianconeri president Andrea Agnelli recently stated that the Italian giants might be unable to hold on to the France international if a lucrative offer came in for the 20-year-old midfielder, but the man himself has dismissed suggestions that he could soon leave Turin.

"I am not angry that Juventus are talking about a possible transfer," Pogba told Sky Sport.

"I do not know anything about PSG's interest. I am only thinking about Juventus. I am happy here.

http://markting10.nl/

"We have not discussed a contract renewal yet, so there's no news on that front. I am only thinking about football and my agent Mino Raiola takes care of the rest."

Pogba's current contract with Juventus is due to expire in the summer of 2016.

4 Things Andrea Pirlo Can Teach Paul Pogba at Juventus

Oct 14, 2013

What can't Paul Pogba possibly learn from a man who has accrued an astonishing trophy collection throughout his storied career, including one World Cup, two Champions League titles and a slew of Scudetti with two different teams?

http://markting10.nl/

That man, of course, is Andrea Pirlo—and here are four things the legendary deep-lying playmaker can teach young starlet Paul Pogba at Juventus.

Humility

The biggest thing that differs from Andrea Pirlo and many modern players is humility.

Pirlo's generation lacked the crazy hairstyles and bling-bling culture that has been embraced by many young footballers today.

http://markting10.nl/

Pirlo's humility and quiet leadership made him a soft-spoken icon among teammates throughout a career which has spanned nearly 15 years.

I had the pleasure of meeting Paul Pogba when he was in Miami over the summer of 2013 for the ICC competition, and can easily say that he's one of the nicest, most humble athletes I have ever met.

Here's hoping the dynamic French midfielder has a long and prosperous career.

http://markting10.nl/

Tactical Nuances

Despite only being 20 years old, Paul Pogba plays with an elegance and tactical knowledge far beyond his age.

If there's one thing Andrea Pirlo has mastered, it's the tactical aspect to the game. In any given moment, he'll know if passing out to a winger or darting it downfield to the No. 9 is the better choice.

His decision will often astonish viewers while leaving the defense dead in its tracks.

There's no one better than Pirlo to mold the young Pogba into a more modern midfield version of himself.

http://markting10.nl/

Set-Piece Taking

More recently at Juventus, winger Simone Pepe told tales of when Alessandro Del Piero took a week to teach him how to curl a ball into the back of the net from a set-piece situation.

Paul Pogba has a much more powerful shot than Pirlo, so the thought of him learning how to put English on a free-kick and add yet another weapon to his already impressive repertoire is staggering.

http://markting10.nl/

Coolness Under Pressure

One of Pirlo's best traits is his coolness under pressure when he's in possession in his own half.

Many times, teammates look for Pirlo to open himself up in front of the defense, and send him a pass right away—knowing their maestro will pirouette with the defense on his heels, turn around with a rapid feint and deliver a pinpoint pass 40 meters downfield.

Paul Pogba: Why Hinting the Frenchman
Could Be Sold Is Dangerous for Juventus

Oct 14, 2013

Juventus have been faced with some irritating speculation over Paul Pogba's long-term future during the international break, and it's their own fault for inviting it.

http://markting10.nl/

The former Manchester United man, who opted to leave Old Trafford on a free transfer in search of more regular playing time in 2012, has been linked with a move to Arsenal and Real Madrid in recent months.

The Bianconeri management should be focusing their energies on keeping him in Turin for the next decade, but instead, club president Andrea Agnelli has admitted to Gazetta dello Sport, via Craig Hope of the Daily Mail, that a big-money deal would be hard to resist.

Giorgio Chiellini, the Old Lady's stellar central defender, has weighed in on the subject, suggesting that he too could see Pogba departing for a monstrous offer.

http://markting10.nl/

He told Gazetta dello Sport, via the Daily Mail:

At the moment, Pogba is the biggest talent in international football in his position. If Juve do receive an obscenely high offer for him... just look at the price Bale went for.

Paul is settled here and he’ll probably renew his contract, but you never know with the transfer market. Anything can happen.

When a club is offered an obscene amount of money for a player it’s difficult to say no. No-one can promise that a player will never be sold. Every player has his price, that's just the way it is.

The fact that any player has a price and that everyone is for sale is a given in modern football, as evidenced by Cristiano Ronaldo's mammoth £80 million sale from Manchester United to Real Madrid.

Why Chiellini needs to regurgitate that is unclear, and despite altogether not saying too much, he's invited heavy, unwanted speculation to the club.

http://markting10.nl/

Juventus are in the process of phasing Andrea Pirlo out of his regista role and pushing Pogba into a more integral one. Antonio Conte is trying to build a future around the precocious French talent, and talking about him potentially leaving is hardly the ideal stance to take.

Chiellini says it himself: "Pogba is the biggest talent in international football in his position." Perhaps not the biggest, but one of the biggest certainly, and the strides he has made so far in his short career are astonishing, to say the least.

Pogba is the complete midfielder. He possesses every attribute required to reach the top. Power, aggressiveness, technical talent, height and speed are all his to exert, and he can produce a rasping long shot to boot.

http://markting10.nl/

Whether Conte plans to plug him into the regista role in place of Pirlo or remodel the system around him in a different way is unclear, but the obvious moves to limit Pirlo's influence over the team—benched for certain games, contract situation unclear—can only point to the induction of Pogba as a Juve star.

The Bianconeri have taken a quizzical approach to the situation, one that simply invites continued speculation for the next several seasons.

That Agnelli has said a big-money deal would be tough to resist is a tool international media will use against the club in future transfer windows, and Pogba's early, ambitious move to Turin speaks volumes of the confidence he has in himself.

http://markting10.nl/

It will now be excruciating to watch the papers to put two and two together every single transfer window from this point on.

Juve need Pogba if they are to build a UEFA Champions League winning side and that has to be the goal. The Turin giants are one of Europe's finest, most storied clubs, and the fans will not be happy selling their star assets off to vultures.

A stronger message in the other direction was needed on the subject of Pogba's future, and Agnelli could live to regret his off-the-cuff remarks.

Juve open to £40m Pogba sale?

Oct 15, 2013

Reports in England suggest that Chelsea may be lining up a £40m move this January for Paul Pogba and that Juventus may be prepared to accept.

http://markting10.nl/

The Bianconeri’s President Andrea Agnelli indicated just last week that the club would find it difficult to turn down particular offers for the young Frenchman, who continues to impress into his second season in Turin.

The Express lead the way in the UK today as indicating that such an offer is imminent and set to arrive from Chelsea.

http://markting10.nl/

It is suggested that Juve have already quoted a price of £40m at which to begin negotiations, with a planned £15m investment themselves then lined up for Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke.
