It’s reported Juventus have given Paul Pogba permission to take a medical with Manchester United.

The midfielder is believed to be close to re-joining the Red Devils for a world-record fee, and has left his holiday in New York.

While Bianconeri Coach Massimiliano Allegri insisted that he expected the French international at Vinovo on Monday, Gianluca Di Marzio’s website and Premium Sport are both reporting that he’s been given permission to take his United medical.

The fee has been reported as €110m, plus another €10m in bonuses, but when a commission for agent Mino Raiola is added in the cost could be around €140m.

UPDATE: In the UK, the BBC, the Daily Mail and ESPN now report that Juventus have confirmed that Pogba has been given permission to deal with United.

Manchester United have officially confirmed that Juventus have given Paul Pogba permission to take a medical.

Reports have been growing today that the summer’s longest transfer saga is finally on the verge of completion, with the French international to take a medical at Old Trafford.

“Paul Pogba has been granted permission to have a medical in order to finalise his transfer from Juventus to Manchester United,” a statement from the Red Devils confirmed.

It’s expected that Pogba’s move will break the world transfer record, with the Bianconeri set to receive €110m, plus another €10m in bonuses.

The 23-year-old joined the Old Lady for a development fee from Manchester United in 2012.

Manchester United announce Pogba medical

The 23-year-old is on the verge of completing a world-record £92 million return

to the club he left in 2012 after Juventus granted permission for an examination.

Paul Pogba is set to undergo a medical ahead of completing a world-record move to Manchester United, the club have confirmed.

The 23-year-old has been granted permission by Juventus to seal a £92 million transfer four years after leaving for Italy for a nominal fee, which will eclipse Gareth Bale's £86 million move to Real Madrid in 2013.

Pogba made just seven appearances for United under Sir Alex Ferguson before leaving and is now on the verge of becoming Jose Mourinho's fourth summer signing after Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Confirmation of the medical comes an hour before Mourinho leads United out at Wembley in the Community Shield season curtain-raiser against Premier League champions Leicester City.

Pogba's arrival is expected to mark an end to United's summer business, with Mourinho hinting at the France international's imminent arrival when talking to reporters on Friday.

"We brought Micki [Mkhitaryan] here, we know the quality he has," he said. "We got a super striker [Ibrahimovic] and we are going to get a very good midfield player, so I am happy with the balance of my squad. I'm happy with the effort that the club has, and is still putting in for us."

We have officially reached an ending to one of the most drawn out transfer sagas of recent memory.

Manchester United have announced on its website that Paul Pogba has been granted permission to undergo his medical before signing for what is almost assuredly is a world-record transfer fee that will be soaring into nine digits. What say you, Man U?

Paul Pogba has been granted permission to have a medical in order to finalise his transfer from Juventus to Manchester United.

I guess that's all you need to write, really.

This announcement, one that has seemingly been "48 hours away" for weeks now, puts an end to months — hell, years if you want to go back to the very start of it all — of speculation regarding Pogba's future with Juventus. Rumors, rumors everywhere! That was what we were subjected to ever since Pogba broke out as one of Europe's best young talents under Antonio Conte and then later Max Allegri.

This summer was by far the topper of them all, though.

First it was Real Madrid. Then it was Manchester United. Then it was maybe Real Madrid getting back in after all signs pointed toward Manchester United. It was a vicious cycle of Pogba exit rumors without much changing other than the fact that all the talk was becoming incredibly tiresome. It didn't help that Pogba's agent is Mino Raiola or that adidas felt the need to go "BLAH BLAH BLAH!" and all of that nonsense.

But now Pogba is just a few small steps away from making a return to United official. At least it means all of this will be coming to an end and both clubs can move on from months of blah, blah, blah.

When too many people talk nobody understands talk very soon

Oh, Paul. Not now.

Allegri: ‘Pogba? I don’t know…’

http://www.football-italia.net/88908/allegri-‘pogba-i-don’t-know…’?

Aug 7, 2016

Juventus Coach Massimiliano Allegri insists “I don’t know anything” about Paul Pogba’s move to Manchester United.

It was confirmed earlier today that the Bianconeri have given the midfielder permission to take a medical with the English side, ahead of a world-record return to Old Trafford.

“I haven’t said any goodbye, I don’t know anything,” Allegri shrugged, speaking to Sky after today’s friendly win over West Ham United.

“I can only talk about the friendly. Then, if Pogba goes to United, I’ll have to say goodbye.”

Pogba is expected to move for €110m, plus another €10m in bonuses, four years after the Old Lady signed him from the Red Devils for a development fee.

Mourinho: ‘Finally Pogba is coming’

http://www.football-italia.net/88913/mourinho-‘finally-pogba-coming’

Aug 7, 2016

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho welcomes Paul Pogba - “finally we have him”.

It was confirmed earlier today that the Juventus midfielder will have a medical with the Red Devils, ahead of what is expected to be a world-record transfer.

“Is it a done deal? I think so, finally,” Mourinho said in his Press conference after the Community Shield win over Leicester City.

“It’s amazing that such a good player is with us. Finally we have him. He comes to a winning side, a side that won the last two matches, the [FA] cup final and Charity Shield.

“He has to work hard to come to the team. I got info just before game, I haven’t had time to think about it. If he is here before the Premier League [starts] to give us time to work that is good.”

Mourinho: ‘Don’t know Pogba fee’

http://www.football-italia.net/88916/mourinho-‘don’t-know-pogba-fee’

Aug 7, 2016

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho insists he doesn’t know how much Paul Pogba will cost.

The Juventus midfielder has been granted permission to take a medical with the Red Devils, with the fee expected to be a world-record of €110m with another €10m in bonuses.

“He’s our player assuming everything goes well in the medical, I will be there waiting for him on Tuesday,” Mourinho said after today’s win over Leicester, as reported by the Guardian.

“We have signed one defender, one striker, one midfielder and a creative this summer so it has been a good market for us.

“I honestly don’t know the exact amount of money we have paid for Pogba, though if it is a new world record I don’t think we need to be sad about that. Real Madrid were not sad when they set a new record for Gareth Bale, they were proud.

“It is a lot of money of course but football is a crazy industry, and very often what seems expensive now does not seem so bad in three years or so.

“I know we are getting a very good player and I think United is the perfect club to bring him to the level he wants to be at.

“We want to bring Manchester United to the top again and if you want to be the best player in the world this is the club to join.

“We have everything to offer him and he is coming because he knows the club and the city and he wants to be a part of the Manchester United project.”

Jose Mourinho: Manchester United should be proud of Paul Pogba fee

http://www.espnfc.co.uk/story/2925294/jose-mourinho-says-

manchester-united-should-be-proud-of-paul-pogba-fee

Manchester United should be proud they are going to break the world transfer record fee by signing Paul Pogba for £89 million, manager Jose Mourinho has said.

On Sunday Juventus gave Pogba permission to undergo a medical with United and he is expected in Manchester on Monday for this reason. The Frenchman would be returning to Old Trafford just four years after leaving to join the Italian club for £800,000.

Mourinho said: "I don't think Real Madrid was upset when they broke the record with Gareth Bale or when they broke the record with Cristiano [Ronaldo]. I think that was a world record too.

"When other people break records, I don't think it's a reason to be sad. I think it's a reason to be proud with the dimension of the club that can do that and can attract players of this dimension.

"If you ask if I think it is a lot of money, I think football is crazy. The market has become crazy. What you think this season is crazy, you realise that three years later it's not crazy any more.

"What is expensive and what is not expensive in football, I don't know any more. I just know that he's a big player that is going, for sure, to be important for a big club like Man United. And I'm sure that every Man United fan around the world will be proud to belong to such a big club."

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp both spoke out about the size of the fee. That led to Mourinho commenting that it is "not ethical" for managers from other clubs to be talking about United's business.

Former United captain Rio Ferdinand believes that United had to make the investment, telling BT Sport: "If he becomes as influential as, say, Paul Scholes [or] Patrick Vieira, then it's money well spent. You have to speculate."

Paul Pogba departure will not stop Juventus from competing - Ogbonna

http://www.espnfc.co.uk/story/2925297/paul-pogba-departure-

will-not-stop-juventus-from-competing-angelo-ogbonna

Aug 8, 2016

Former Juventus defender Angelo Ogbonna has said he believes "not much will change" for the club without Paul Pogba.

Juventus told ESPN FC on Sunday that Pogba had been given permission to have a medical at Manchester United, with the Premier League club confirming the news two hours later.

When the deal is completed, it is set to break the world record transfer fee and expected to be around £95 million plus £20m in agent fees.

Ogbonna, who now plays for West Ham, was a teammate of France international Pogba at Juventus for two seasons from summer 2013.

The 28-year-old, who played as the Hammers lost 3-2 to Juve in a friendly on Sunday, told Gazzetta World: "I think they can [compete for the Champions League without Pogba].

"They have a really good team and squad. They'll miss Pogba, but they've got [Miralem] Pjanic and [Gonzalo] Higuain, so they've got a lot of quality and not much will change."

United manager Jose Mourinho said it was "amazing" that Pogba was set to return to the club after leaving in 2012, but added that the midfielder would have to work hard to get into the team.

When asked about the Pogba move after his side's Community Shield win over Leicester City at Wembley, Mourinho told BT Sport: "It's an amazing situation that such a great player is with us. Finally we have him.

"He comes to a winning side, who have won the FA Cup Final and the Community Shield. He has to work hard to come to the team."

Paul Pogba arrives for Manchester United medical ahead of move

Paul Pogba arrived at Manchester United's training ground on Monday to begin his medical ahead of a proposed world-record switch back to the club from Juventus.

Pogba, 23, was granted permission to have a medical on Sunday in order finalise the deal. Sources have told ESPN FC that United will pay a £89 million (€105m) transfer fee for the 23-year-old plus £20m (€23.7m) in agents' fees.

That figure beats the current world-record transfer fee of an estimated £85m that Real Madrid paid Tottenham for Gareth Bale in 2013.

The Guardian reported on Monday evening that Pogba passed the medical and was expected to be announced on Tuesday as the club's fourth summer signing.

Pogba -- whose arrival in the country was signalled by a tweet from Manchester Airport -- left United for Juventus in 2012 having made just seven senior appearances in all competitions for the Premier League club, all from the bench.

An important passenger has just touched down at the airport. Can anyone guess who it might be?

Since then he has helped Juve win four Serie A titles and the Coppa Italia twice, while the Old Lady also reached the 2014-15 Champions League final, and he was part of the France side which finished runners-up at Euro 2016.

Regarding Pogba, United boss Jose Mourinho said after Sunday's Community Shield victory over Leicester: "United is the perfect club to bring him to the level he wants to be.

"The Premier League is the perfect habitat for that. If you want to be the best player in the world, if you go to Barcelona or Real Madrid you are in trouble because I don't think the other two big guys [Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo] will let you.

"Here he is in the most seen, worldwide, championship which is absolutely incredible, with a team which wants to bring Manchester United to the top again. We have everything to give him and we know the reasons why he wants to come to us.

"Money he would get at any big club. He comes because he knows the club, knows the city, many of the players and wants to be an important part of the project. Hopefully everything goes well."

The 23-year-old's return to the club that nurtured him has now been confirmed by officials on both sides, including Jose Mourinho himself.

Official: Pogba to Man Utd for €105m

http://www.football-italia.net/88963/official-pogba-man-utd-€105m

Aug 9, 2016

Paul Pogba has completed his transfer from Juventus to Manchester United for a world record €105m plus bonuses (£89.2m).

The Bianconeri released a financial statement confirming the transfer fee was €105m plus a further €5m in performance-related bonuses. The fee can be paid over two years.

He will count as €72.6m profit on the Juve books, again as confirmed by the club (£61.75m).

It’s suggested that when the performance-related bonuses and above all the commission for agent Mino Raiola are included, the deal will have eventually cost United in the region of €140m (£119m).

The cost of the move is particularly remarkable considering Juve snapped Pogba up for only a development fee of around €800,000 when his contract with Manchester United expired in July 2012.

“Manchester United is delighted to announce that Paul Pogba has completed his transfer from Italian club Juventus. Paul joins on a five-year contract, with the option to extend for a further year,” read a formal statement.

“Paul, 23, has been with Juventus for four seasons, making 124 appearances and scoring 28 goals. He joined the Bianconeri from United in 2012.”

He flew out for his medical on Monday after months of speculation and after midnight UK time Manchester United released a video teasing the #Pogback change.

Agent Mino Raiola also tweeted: "The Man is United" while Pogba posted a video of his Bianconeri exploits to the sounds of the Juventus anthem sung by fans.

"You are in my heart, always. Thank you again for everything," said the Frenchman at the end of the clip.

"Thanks Juventus and all Juventini. Goodbye means nothing, it's the time we spent together that matters," he wrote on Twitter.

The 23-year-old has developed into one of the world’s most promising midfielders during his time at Juve, winning four consecutive Serie A titles, two editions of the Coppa Italia and Italian Super Cup.

The Bianconeri also reached the Champions League Final in 2015.

It is a return to Old Trafford for Pogba, who joined their youth academy from Le Havre in July 2009, but barely broke into the senior squad under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Adidas and rapper Stormzy have already released a viral video with the France international in a Manchester United jersey. It was accidentally leaked on Monday evening before being removed from Twitter and Facebook.

OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL: Manchester United

sign Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba

The transfer is the most expensive one in history.

http://www.blackwhitereadallover.com/2016/8/9/12314738/official-manchester-

united-sign-paul-pogba-from-juventus-2016-summer-transfers

Aug 9, 2016

Paul Pogba is heading back to Old Trafford.

What was once merely paper talk and rumors galore has turned out to be the real deal. Pogba, who arrived in Turin four years ago and has developed into one of the best midfielders in the game today, is no longer a Juventus player. Manchester United agreed to pay Juventus €105 million plus €5 million in bonuses, the club announced late Monday.

Here are the financial details, courtesy of Juventus' official website:

Turin, 9 August 2016 - Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that an agreement has been finalized with Manchester United Football Club Limited for the definitive transfer of the registration rights of the player Paul Labile Pogba for a consideration of € 105 million to be paid in two financial years. The consideration may increase of € 5 million on achieving given conditions in the course of the duration of the contract.

The economic effect is positive for about € 72.6 million, net of solidarity subsidy and auxiliary expenses.

The nine-figure transfer fee is the most expensive in the game's history, surpassing the €100.7 million Real Madrid paid to sign Gareth Bale from Tottenham in 2013. Reports suggest Pogba's five-year contract with United will be worth a whopping €13 million net per season. That figure is three times more than what he made this past season at Juventus, where he was one of the Serie A champions' highest earners.

Pogba is United's fourth signing since Jose Mourinho was appointed manager, following defender Eric Bailly, striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

In the summer of 2012, Pogba arrived at Juventus on a free transfer after leaving Manchester United. He was seeking a club that believed in him, one that would give him a chance to show the potential many thought he had. And under Antonio Conte, Pogba soon showed what all the fuss was about. His ridiculous goals became internet phenomenons. His pure talent oozing out for the rest of Italy — and Europe, for that matter — to see.

But for as productive as Pogba has been on the field the last few seasons — he finished joint-top in Serie A with 12 assists last season — the last couple of summers were nothing but Pogba exit rumors. Will he stay? Will he go? As much as there was talk about Pogba on the field, there was talk about him going somewhere else. Rumors, rumors everywhere. Through it all, Juventus director general Beppe Marotta always maintained two main points — he would not sell Pogba unless the player showed a desire to leave and the eventual transfer fee would be an absolute massive one.

And now, with Juventus having assembled its strongest squad since Pogba arrived in the summer of 2012, Pogba has decided now is the right time to end his tenure in Turin.

With Pogba gone to the Red Devils, the Old Lady now has Miralem Pjanić, Sami Khedira, Claudio Marchisio, Hernanes, Mario Lemina, Kwadwo Asamoah, Stefanon Sturaro and Roberto Pereyra in the center of the midfield. Juventus could subtract another midfielder or two from that group, and they could go out and sign somebody to replace Pogba.

In a matter of weeks, Juventus has both brought in Gonzalo Higuain for a club-record fee of €90 million and seen Pogba leave for a world-record transfer fee. It doesn't really matter how you look at it. That's a lot of money, folks.

Thanks @juventusfc and all Juventini. Goodbye means nothing, it is the time we spent together that matters

Paul Pogba sent a goodbye message to Juventus fans, shortly before his long-awaited transfer to Manchester United was completed.

After his first spell at Old Trafford left the France international frustrated by his lack of game time, he moved to the Serie A outfit, where he played for four seasons and accumulated over 120 top-flight appearances, scoring 28 goals in the process.

Thanks @juventusfc and all Juventini. Goodbye means nothing, it is the time we spent together that matters

And Pogba was keen to show his appreciation to the Turin side as he tweeted his gratitude shortly before news of his move back to the Premier League was made official.

Pogba: 'Thank you Juventus'

http://www.football-italia.net/88964/pogba-thank-you-juventus?

Aug 9, 2016

Paul Pogba thanked Juventus, but explained Manchester United is “the right club for me to achieve everything I hope to in the game.”

The 23-year-old midfielder completed his transfer after midnight on Monday for a reported €110m plus bonuses, though with agent Mino Raiola’s commission included it will be in the region of €140m.

“I am delighted to rejoin United,” Pogba told the official Manchester United club website.

“It has always been a club with a special place in my heart and I am really looking forward to working with Jose Mourinho.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Juventus and have some fantastic memories of a great club with players that I count as friends.

“But I feel the time is right to go back to Old Trafford. I always enjoyed playing in front of the fans and can’t wait to make my contribution to the team. This is the right club for me to achieve everything I hope to in the game.”

It is a return to Old Trafford, as Pogba left for just a development fee of around €800,000 in the summer of 2012, becoming a star at Juventus.

“Good morning to everyone, fans and all of Juve,” said Pogba on another video on social media.

“It is a moment of sadness, I have to say, because I am going to another team. I am ending an adventure that started very well and I am very happy because of that.

“I’ve grown a lot and learned so much from Juve and  you Juve fans. It is a book that closes and another that opens elsewhere, but I want to thank Juventus, all the players, staff and fans who believed in me and you will always be in my heart. Thank you again, thank you everyone.”

He scored 28 goals in 124 appearances for the Bianconeri over four seasons, but leaves a club building a squad for the Champions League in order to join a side that will only compete in the Europa League this term.

Former Inter Coach Mourinho also commented on the transfer for the Manchester United site.

“Paul is one of the best players in the world and will be a key part of the United team I want to build here for the future. He is quick, strong, scores goals and reads the game better than many players much older than he is.

“At 23, he has the chance to make that position his own here over many years. He is young and will continue to improve; he has the chance to be at the heart of this club for the next decade and beyond.”

OFFICIAL: Man Utd complete Pogba signing

The France midfielder has returned to Old Trafford from Juventus, a mere four years

after departing the club for a nominal fee, and becomes the most expensive transfer ever.

Manchester United have completed the signing of Paul Pogba from Juventus for an initial £89.5m.

Pogba left United to join Juve in 2012 but Jose Mourinho has now re-acquired the France international midfielder for a world-record transfer fee.

The 23-year-old, who has long been linked with a return to Old Trafford, has now become the most expensive player in football history, overtaking the deal that took Gareth Bale from Tottenham to Real Madrid in 2013.

"Manchester United is delighted to announce that Paul Pogba has completed his transfer from Italian club Juventus," the club wrote on their official website.

"Paul joins on a five-year contract, with the option to extend for a further year."

Pogba is reported to earn an astonishing £104m pre-tax salary over five years, a figure that put off Real Madrid, who were also in the running for his signature, with Cristiano Ronaldo the only Los Blancos star to earn more than that amount.

Juventus confirmed in a club statement on Tuesday that they will receive €105m (£89.5m) initially, with a further €5m payable if both sides activate certain clauses. That would take the overall transfer fee to £93.8m.

The Frenchman made just seven appearances for United during his initial stint with the club, and failed to complete 90 minutes in the Premier League under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson.

But while there was some bitterness on both sides at his departure for Italy, Pogba has made the decision to rejoin the club as they look to vastly improve on the fifth-placed finish secured under Louis van Gaal in 2015-16.

The transfer represents the latest arrival under Mourinho, with United having embarked on a major recruitment drive this summer having already acquired the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly.

Paul Pogba to Manchester United: Latest

Transfer Details, Comments and Reaction

Manchester United officially signed Paul Pogba from Juventus on Tuesday for a reported world-record transfer fee of £89 million, per Jefferson Lake of Sky Sports.

United confirmed the news on the club's official website and included a statement from Pogba:

I am delighted to rejoin United. It has always been a club with a special place in my heart and I am really looking forward to working with Jose Mourinho. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Juventus and have some fantastic memories of a great club with players that I count as friends. But I feel the time is right to go back to Old Trafford. I always enjoyed playing in front of the fans and can't wait to make my contribution to the team. This is the right club for me to achieve everything I hope to in the game.

Pogba also tweeted his appreciation for Juventus and their supporters:

Thanks @juventusfc and all Juventini. Goodbye means nothing, it is the time we spent together that matters

Juventus confirmed the financial details, noting "Pogba has completed a move to Manchester United for a fee of €105 million to be paid in two financial years. The consideration may increase by €5 million on achieving given conditions in the course of the duration of the contract."

Returning to United will allow Pogba to settle unfinished business with the club. The Frenchman left Old Trafford as a 19-year-old to pursue first-team opportunities with Juventus and heads back to Manchester as one of the game's upcoming stars.

Though not in the same mould as Red Devils legend Paul Scholes, he'll be tasked with filling the void the Englishman left at United when he retired in May 2013: a midfielder who can create opportunities for the team, dictate the pace of games and contribute goals in equal measure.

Here is a look at why many have tipped Pogba to reach the top of the game:

Under Antonio Conte and then Massimiliano Allegri, Pogba made massive progress with Juve. Previously nervy with the ball at his feet, he has become capable of grabbing games and turning them the way of his side.

He slipped into Juve's No. 10 jersey last term and seized responsibility with comfort, and after Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Carlos Tevez moved on last summer, there was an onus on the France international to inspire the team in the attacking third.

As WhoScored.com noted, he did exactly that with a string of wonderful performances:

Paul Pogba: Was the highest rated (7.81) player in Serie A this season, scoring 8 goals & registering 12 assists

Despite his technical quality, power in possession and burgeoning maturity, Pogba can still be better. His flaws were scrutinised by the watching continent at the 2016 UEFA European Championship, and every move he made in the France shirt was analysed in detail.

Pogba showed at Euro 2016 he still has improvements to make.

Pogba can cling to the ball too often and has a tendency to overcomplicate things. When operating in a double-pivot midfield, as he did for France, he has also shown some naivety in his defensive positioning.

Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe noted it'd be harsh to assess the player based on the performances he turned in at Euro 2016, though:

#MUFC need to add star quality to central midfield and Paul Pogba fits the bill. A complete presence. Physical, technical, dangerous.

Claiming Pogba's overrated based on #Euro2016, where he wasn't utilised properly, is foolish. Record for Juventus is immense. #MUFC

Mourinho will know that while he has landed an extraordinary talent in Pogba, he will have to usher in improvements and do so with the pressure of the enormous fee accompanying the 23-year-old.

Pogba has shown the temperament to suggest he is capable of doing that, and it'll be worth watching how he develops under the guidance of the illustrious coach.

Getting Pogba is a massive statement for United. The club paid a mammoth fee, however, and plenty will suggest the midfielder can't live up to it. But there's potential for the Frenchman to become one of the finest players of his generation, and the Red Devils will hope he achieves that status at Old Trafford.

Paul Pogba thanks Juventus and fans,

calls departure 'moment of sadness'

Paul Pogba has called his departure from Juventus "a moment of sadness" in the wake of his long-awaited move to Manchester United.

The 23-year-old France international completed a deal to join the 13-time Premier League champions for a record-breaking transfer fee of €105 million on Tuesday morning.

Pogba spent four seasons with the Bianconeri after moving from United on a free transfer in 2012, helping the Italian giants to four Serie A titles, two Coppa Italias and a berth in the 2015 Champions League final during his time in Turin.

In a video released via social media, the superstar midfielder expressed his gratitude to the Old Lady and their fans.

"Good morning to everyone, fans and all of Juve," Pogba said.

"It is a moment of sadness, I have to say, because I am going to another team. I am ending an adventure that started very well and I am very happy because of that.

"I've grown a lot and learned so much from Juve and you Juve fans. It is a book that closes and another that opens elsewhere, but I want to thank Juventus, all the players, staff and fans who believed in me and you will always be in my heart. Thank you again, thank you everyone."

Pogba will return to United on a five-year contract, with an option to extend the deal for a further season.

In his previous spell with United, Pogba made just seven appearances -- all during the 2011-12 season -- including three in the Premier League, three in the Capital One Cup and one in the Europa League.

Juventus say 'merci Paul' after Pogba

completes record Man United move

http://www.espnfc.co.uk/story/2925644/juventus-say-merci-paul-

after-pogba-completes-record-move-to-manchester-united

Juventus have thanked Paul Pogba for his time at the club following the completion of the France midfielder's world-record return to Manchester United.

Pogba, 23, sealed his €105 million move back to Old Trafford in the early hours of Tuesday four years after he left the club for just £800,000.

After winning Serie A titles in each of his four seasons in Turin and helping them reach the Champions League final in 2015, Pogba bid the Bianconerifarewell with a personal message and now the club have reciprocated.

A statement on the club's official website reads: "The switch sees the Frenchman return to the club with whom he made his professional debut in 2011 and brings an end to a truly remarkable four-year stay in Turin, a city in which he lifted four of the Bianconeri's five history making consecutiveScudetto titles to go with a trio of Italian Super Cups and a pair of Coppa Italia trophies.

"On an individual level, Pogba's arrival at Juventus Stadium in the summer of 2012 and continued excellence in the heart of the side deservedly saw him progress from a promising youngster into a world-class performer, being first named European Golden Boy in 2013 before closing a magnificent 2015 with a place in both the UEFA and FIFPro teams of the year.

"While Manchester would be the scene of his first steps in the game -- and indeed now of his future -- it was in Turin that Paul became a world-renowned star and developed into one of the most imposing and explosive midfielders on the planet."

Pogba left United after being unsatisfied with the limited amount of playing time he was getting under former boss Sir Alex Ferguson and failing to agree terms over a new contract. His decision to move to Juventus began to pay off almost immediately.

"Typically, Pogba would introduce himself to his new supporters in truly spectacular fashion," Juve's statement continued. "Just a month after making his bow for the club at home to Chievo in September 2012, the then 19-year-old would net his first Juventus goal against Napoli in a move that has since become synonymous with the Frenchman: one touch on the edge of the box, a sight of goal and an unstoppable finish into the corner.

"Variations of that Pogba template -- eventually dubbed the 'Pogboom' by the home fans -- came in their droves in the ensuing seasons to the extent that seeing him score in outrageous fashion became no more than a normal occurrence.

"For all of the remarkable technique required for the strikes that followed against Napoli twice more, Udinese, Sampdoria and Sassuolo to name but a few, moments of their nature were typical of his time in Turin and the norm for a player and character who rarely does things in half measures.

"To limit Pogba's contributions to goals, however, would do him a disservice. Stepping up to the plate following the departures of a handful of influential names in the summer of 2015, a case could be made for Paul's last Juve campaign being his greatest of all.

"Not only did the 2015/16 season see him rack up a personal best tally for both goals (10) and assists (12) in all competitions, it also signalled a new development in the Frenchman's career as a key player in the side, taking on more responsibility than ever before, not to mention the club's famous number 10 jersey.

"Indeed it would be his extraordinary opener in the Derby Della Mole last October that ignited the Bianconeri's formidable charge to the title, while his crucial if uncharacteristically scrappy effort at the San Siro the following April seemingly confirmed it.

"In Europe, assists for Mario Mandzukic in Manchester and Stephan Lichtsteiner in Monchengladbach were arguably the highlights of the team's progression to the knockout stages and a fifth-minute tap-in at the Allianz Arena would add a first Champions League goal to his collection of all-important actions on the biggest stages in the game.

"Most importantly, courtesy of a fourth Serie A title and second Coppa Italia crown, Pogba would end his final season at the club in the only way he knows how: as a winner.

"Everyone associated with Juventus Football Club would like to thank Paul for his unforgettable four years of service and wish him the very best upon his return to England with Manchester United.

"Merci Paul."

Man Utd transfer saga was 'annoying' - Pogba

The France star, who rejoined the Red Devils for a world-record fee on Tuesday, has expressed

his frustration at how long it took for his move from Juventus to be completed.

http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2016/08/09/26346032/-?

Paul Pogba admits he became “annoyed” by the delay over his protracted transfer to Manchester United from Juventus.

The 23-year-old finally completed a move back to Old Trafford in the early hours of Tuesday morning, with Jose Mourinho's side paying out a world-record fee believed to be in the region of £93.8m.

United's announcement that the deal had been concluded brought to an end a lengthy saga that dominated the current transfer window.

It has been widely reported that the overall transfer fee and also how much Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, would be paid were two reasons why the deal dragged over the course of the summer.

Pogba concedes that the decision to return to United was far from straightforward, but says the wait to finalise the deal was as frustrating for him as it was for the fans.

Writing in a series of Instagram posts, he said: "It is difficult to explain so much in a few lines but I made a decision guided by my heart and nothing else.

"This transfer took so long because it was a huge decision and involved lots of thinking and work. The wait was as annoying to me as it was to you.

"To all supporters who wrote on my pages about transfer rumours, I have read you all and thank you for the passionate messages. My apologies for not responding before, by law I could not talk.

"Leaving Manchester when I was 18 was a mutual decision between the club and me and the right thing to do at that moment. Now it's time to go back and forward, Old Trafford here I come!

"My deepest respect to the clubs who considered having me. Juventus will always be a part of me and I will always miss, love and be grateful to the club, the team and especially the supporters. I hope you can respect my decision. The most beautiful part of friendship is to understand and be understood."

Manchester United's Paul Pogba wants

to be best in the world - Andrea Pirlo

http://www.espnfc.co.uk/story/2925733/manchester-uniteds-

paul-pogba-wants-to-be-best-in-the-world-andrea-pirlo

New Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is hungry to become the best player in the world, his former Juventus teammate Andrea Pirlo has said.

Pogba has rejoined United from Juve for a world record fee of £89.3 million, having left Old Trafford in summer 2012.

New York City's Pirlo, a midfield colleague of Pogba in Turin, said there had been disbelief that United were prepared to let the France midfielder go.

He told the Daily Mirror: "He is, of course, a great player but sometimes, with natural ability, some players think that is enough.

"That's not the case with him. You are getting a player with a great attitude.

"He wants to be the best in the world, he wants to learn off the coaches and the senior players. He is hungry to be the best."

Pirlo said he would "always remember the first day Pogba had training at Juventus" and added: "He was only young, but we could see he was special.

"There was almost a disbelief that Manchester United had let this player go.

"A lot of people have a lot to say about what the fee could be and if he's worth it.

"But when you pay a big fee you just have to ask one question -- can this player play a big part in us winning trophies?

"If he can do that, then it will always be worth it for the buying club. We know Pogba can do this, and we know he can do it for a lot of years to come."

Pirlo said players "do not care at all" about transfer fees, explaining: "That is just something a player leaves to his agent and the clubs.

"As a player, you just want to be at a club where you can achieve everything you want to."

Bryan Robson: 'Paul Pogba has matured at Juventus'

http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/man-utd/news/

robson-pogba-has-matured-at-juventus_278509.html

Aug 9, 2016

Manchester United legend Bryan Robson has said thatPaul Pogba matured as a player during his four-year spell with Juventus.

The 23-year-old left United on a free transfer in 2012 due to a lack of first-team football, but earlier today completed his return to Old Trafford in a world-record switch thought to be worth around £89m.

Robson believes that the Red Devils have secured a player of "great talent", and hinted that leaving the club initially was the right move for the France international.

"If you've got to go and buy someone like Paul for that type of money then that's the way it's got to be. I remember him quite well because at that time I had quite a bit of spare time. When Paul first got into the squad to be training with the first team, I used to go in once, twice a week and stand with Sir Alex and watch training," he told Sky Sports News.

"Paul was very good at that age, and I don't really think that David Gill and Sir Alex [Ferguson] wanted him to leave because you could see the potential. But his agent wanted first-team football for the boy and he wasn't going to get that at that time because we had Giggsy, Scholesy at their peak still, so he wasn't getting games.

"I think he's matured by going to Juventus. It's great experience for him playing a different type of football in Italy, and last year he had an outstanding season. He has got great talent and a good temperament as well, that's what I like about him."

Pogba scored 34 goals in 178 appearances during his time in Turin.

How much did Juve get for Pogba?

http://www.football-italia.net/88996/how-much-did-juve-get-pogba

Aug 9, 2016

Paul Pogba completed his transfer to Manchester United last night, but there is still confusion over the Juventus figures.

The Bianconeri released a statement confirming “the definitive transfer of the registration rights of the player Paul Labile Pogba for a consideration of €105m to be paid in two financial years.

“The consideration may increase of €5m on achieving given conditions in the course of the duration of the contract.

“The economic effect is positive for about €72.6m, net of solidarity subsidy and auxiliary expenses.”

These figures are causing some confusion, as Juventus signed Pogba as a free agent from Manchester United in 2012.

Calciomercato.com have calculated that the profit is so low because Juve took on most of the commission owed to agent Mino Raiola, in the region of €25m.

Raiola also evidently received commissions at every contractual renewal in Turin for a total of €6m.

The Bianconeri also owed Manchester United a €2m development fee for taking him as a teenager.

Raiola hasn't finished earning off this move yet, as he's reportedly set to receive a proportion of Pogba's €13m per year wages at Old Trafford.
