Manchester United Transfer News: Paul Pogba

Agreement Reported, Latest Rumours

Manchester United have reportedly agreed to terms "in principle" with Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba and are preparing a €120 million (£102.5 million) bid for the Frenchman.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio (via Get French Football News), United are prepared to pay their former player €13 million (£11.1 million) per year to return to Old Trafford:

Manchester United are preparing a €120m offer for Paul Pogba & are willing to offer the player €13m a year, according to@DiMarzio.

Breaking | Manchester United have a contract agreement in principle with Paul Pogba, according to @DiMarzio.

Pogba, 23, left United for free to join Juventus in 2012 after failing to break into the first team at Old Trafford under Sir Alex Ferguson.

He has since become one of the world's best central midfielders and is currently a key part of the French national team attempting to win Euro 2016.

Per Di Marzio (h/t translator David Amoyal), Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, will present United's offer to Juventus after the tournament.

New United manager Jose Mourinho has already made three signings this summer, bringing in centre-back Eric Bailly, playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan and veteran striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The central-midfield area at United is still weak, though, with 34-year-old Michael Carrick the key man in the Red Devils' engine room.

That will all change if United can pull off the signing of Pogba, a genuine box-to-box midfielder who is already world-class despite being some way short of his peak years.

He has been the hottest property in Europe for some time and was originally thought to want to join Real Madrid, per Bleacher Report's Dean Jones:

Per Sky Sports News' Kaveh Solhekol, Real manager Zinedine Zidane and club president Florentino Perez believe Pogba wants to sign for the Bernabeu outfit.

However, it is United who have seemingly made the big move, offering terms it would be difficult for either Pogba or Juventus to turn down.

The Italian champions have long said they do not want to sell their star player, but football writer Tom McDermott does not think they will reject United's €120 million (£102.5 million) bid:

Juventus to reject €120m? They will have been aware of the offer a long time ago. Can't see them refusing. #Pogba #MUFC

It would be a world-record transfer fee, smashing the mark set by Real when they paid £85 million for Gareth Bale in 2013.

And while astronomical, it could be worth the outlay from United, as they have long been lacking an inspirational figure in the middle of the park, and Pogba could be one of the world's best players for the next decade.

RUMOURS: Pogba wants Real Madrid move, not Man Utd

The Juve midfielder has his sights set on the Santiago Bernabeu if he is to leave Turin,

though his representative is not ready to take him out of the shop window just yet...

    Jul 7, 2016

Paul Pogba has reached an agreement to play for Real Madrid, according to Sky Sportscorrespondent Guillem Balague.

The Juventus midfielder is in high demand and has been linked with a return to Manchester United, but it is claimed the Frenchman has eyes for only one club.

“Pogba has made it very clear, to Real Madrid anyway, that he would like to be a Real Madrid player this summer," Balague said.

"He has had conversations with Zinedine Zidane and he wants to play for Zidane. However, that doesn’t stop his agent, Mino Raiola, from getting other kinds of agreements.

"It has been reported that Manchester United may have a personal agreement with Pogba and it wouldn’t be the first time more than one agreement had been reached.

"In any case, while we’re unsure as to Raiola’s priorities, Pogba’s is to go to Real Madrid. We will have to wait a while to see how this pans out but one thing is certain, both Real Madrid and Manchester United want the player."

    Neto: ‘Rumours don’t affect Pogba’

    http://www.football-italia.net/86972/neto-‘rumours-don’t-affect-pogba’?

    Jul 7, 2016

Juventus goalkeeper Neto says Paul Pogba “doesn’t let transfer rumours affect him”.

The French midfielder is constantly being linked with a move away from the Bianconeri, with the latest reports claiming that Manchester United will offer €120m.

“He’s a very calm person,” Neto explained to ESPN.

“He doesn’t let the talk and transfer rumours affect him. He works and doesn’t listen to the stories, and you can see the fruits of that labour on the pitch.

“He’s a very humble but spectacular person, and the rumours in the newspapers don’t interest him at all. For me it’s pleasure and a source of great satisfaction to play with him.

“Not just for his football qualities, but for the person he is. He’s a great friend, a person who it’s natural to be bound to.”

Juventus' Paul Pogba can be one of the best

    ever midfielders - Thierry Henry

    Jul 7, 2016

Manchester United target Paul Pogba can be "one of the best midfielders in history," according to former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry.

Juventus star Pogba, 23, is set to start for France in Thursday night's Euro 2016 semifinal against Germany.

Sources have told ESPN FC that United are keen to bring Pogba back to the club this summer, with an asking price of £100 million mooted.

But Pogba is staying calm about the transfer talk surrounding him, goalkeeper Neto has told ESPN Brazil.

And former France international Henry expects his compatriot to become of the best players in the world if he fulfils his potential.

"Forget about France, I think he can be one of the best midfielders in history," Henry told Sky Sports News HQ.

"He has the quality to do that. He needs to make sure he concentrates on what he can do well.

"What I love about him at the moment is that he's doing what the team's asking him to do; maybe he's sometimes a bit more fancy at Juventus but because [Antoine] Griezmann is playing behind [Olivier] Giroud for France, he has to defend a bit more.

"That's the sign of his intelligence. He's playing within himself in a way, to make sure the team has the right balance."

Addressing the possibility of a return to the Premier League for Pogba, who left United for Juve in 2012, Henry added: "We all know about the quality, how good he is on the ball.

"Hopefully he can come back to the Premier League -- it would be great for us and for whoever got him -- but he's still a Juve player, and they're not going to let him go [easily]."

Reports: Manchester United 'ready to offer'

    €120 million for Paul Pogba

It could be something. It could be a load of crap. You decide.

    Jul 7, 2016

The Paul Pogba rumors will never die. They're basically as constant as us getting up in the morning, shaking the cobwebs out of our heads and then getting our day started. They're nothing new. They will be around for the entirety of Pogba's career at Juventus — no matter if it's two more weeks, another month or another season or two.

The latest batch of rumors — and take them as you want them — include a potential bid being made by the team that Pogba arrived from nearly a half-decade ago. There are reports out of both Italy and England about said bid being prepared by Manchester United. Here's what the Italian end, in the form of Gianluca Di Marzio, had to say on the matter:

Manchester United's interest in him remains high. Manchester United are ready to make an important offer for Pogba: 120 million euros, which Raiola will present to Juventus at the end of the tournament.

Juventus consider Pogba very important, we now have to see how they will react to such an offer. Manchester United already have an agreement in principle with the player: 13 million euros per season net of taxes.

First, if United want to offer me €13 million a year to do something, I'm down.

Secondly, this is a lot of money. Record-breaking with a large margin kind of transfer fee happening, too.

Thirdly, who knows if we should actually believe it because it could just be the next step in a long line of Pogba rumors that have turned out to be utter nonsense. It goes way back to even when Pogba wasn't a Juve player. How many times did we hear he had signed for Juventus before he, you know, actually signed for Juventus?

This rumored pursuit by United may end up being true. Or, we could just see Pogba signing a new contract with a BIG pay raise whenever he comes back from his post-Euro 2016 vacation. It wouldn't be the first time something like the second part has happened. And knowing that Pogba is a wanted commodity, Juventus could very well ease things with a nice little bump up in his already very good salary.

We know this won't be the last Pogba-related matter we'll hear about this summer. Who knows how much of it will actually be something that merits acknowledgement, though.

For Paul Pogba, strong Juventus bonds

could prevail over big offers once more

    -paul-pogba-strong-juventus-bonds-could-prevail-over-big-offers-once-more

    Jul 8, 2016

As far as goodbyes go, the departure of Simone Padoin this week hurt, and Juventus fans are hoping that Paul Pogba will not follow the cult hero out of the club.

Juventus have been bullish about keeping Pogba, even more so than in years past. When asked who will be at the club next season on Fabio Fazio's Che tempo che fa talkshow, coach Massimiliano Allegri said, "Buffon stays." A playful smile emerged on his face.

    "And Pogba?"

"Pogba stays," he said. The only player he pulled a face at was Alvaro Morata, who is returning to Real Madrid -- a decision out of Juventus' hands because of a buyback clause in his contract.

More cause for optimism came in the form of a La Gazzetta dello Sport interview with Pogba's best friend, Paulo Dybala, conducted a fortnight ago. "I've heard from Paul," Dybala said. "He's definitely staying."

General manager Beppe Marotta was just as confident while showing the head of Italy's Olympic Committee around Juventus' new bespoke medical facility. "Offers for Pogba haven't arrived, above all because we don't want to sit around a negotiating table," he said. "He is indispensable for our present and our future. Juventus are not a selling club. In order to win, you have got to have the strength to keep your champions."

It helps that the club are richer and the team stronger over the last five years. In fact, this is doubly significant. On one hand, it means Juventus are under no obligation to sell. On the other, repeated success on the pitch makes them as attractive as ever -- not only to prospective new recruits, but to existing players as well. Juventus are able to give the impression that they can match the ambitions of even the most enterprising players. This will be the pitch they will make to Pogba after Euro 2016.

Getting transfer business done early isn't merely the mark of a well organised club that knows what it wants, it allows Juventus to turn to the likes of Pogba and say: "Look at what we're building here." Last year, deals for Dybala, Sami Khedira and Mario Mandzukic were already completed in June. This year, Miralem Pjanic and Dani Alves were signed before the summer transfer window even opened. It's a statement of intent to Pogba and others that the best thing for their career is to stay where they are.

Juventus firmly believe that next season is their time in the Champions League. Reaching the final in 2015, and the manner in which they played against Bayern Munich this past campaign, has given them the conviction that they can win it. The final pieces of the puzzle are being put in place this summer; Pjanic isn't a replacement for Pogba, he is a successor to Andrea Pirlo. And Alves, like Khedira, Mandzukic and Patrice Evra before him, brings another layer of Champions League-winning experience to pass on to younger players.

Leaving now, at a time when Juventus are in a position to take the final step and obtain the ultimate sense of fulfillment by winning the only trophy this group of players is missing, would be a wrench that is not to be underestimated. Particularly given the fact that Manchester United --- Pogba's most determined suitor, the club that wasn't prepared to play or pay him enough four years ago -- won't be in the Champions League this season.

That isn't to say that there wouldn't be immense satisfaction on the part of Pogba and his agent, Mino Raiola, if United broke the world transfer record for him and put together a wage packet in the region of £13 million-a-year net. It would be total vindication. But the fact that Juventus believed in his talent when United (and Sir Alex Ferguson) did not is another card up their sleeve.

Watching Italy go out of the Euros on penalties at the weekend, Pogba told French television: "I had a very strange feeling. It was like my team had lost." Seeing his Juventus teammate Leonardo Bonucci miss a penalty in the shootout and his captain Gianluigi Buffon and Andrea Barzagli cry "hurt a lot." Pogba has learned so much from them.

His bond with manager Allegri is also strong; anyone who has seen the videos of the two staying back after training to play basketball and other games can vouch for this. "I'm always telling Paul he's found a coach who is a better sportsman than him," Allegri laughed. "Paul said he wants to challenge me to a boxing match next year, but I said: 'No.'" Next year...

Significance has inevitably been attached to the use of Pogba's image to promote Juventus' away shirt for the 2016-17 Serie A season. In truth, it means little. It didn't stop Zlatan Ibrahimovic's move from AC Milan to Paris Saint-Germain, and the fact that two of United's big summer signings are also Raiola clients (Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Ibrahimovic) has not gone unnoticed. If Pogba decides to commit to Juventus again, Raiola can always offer PSG's Blaise Matuidi to the Manchester side as an alternative.

    soc_g_pogba01jr_1296x729.jpg&w=738&site=
Will Paul Pogba return to Manchester United upon the completion of Euro 2016?

Juventus will dig in their heels. Claudio Marchisio is out until November; Khedira missed 18 league games last season and is injured again, as is Stefano Sturaro. The timing from their point of view isn't ideal, even if Pogba's sale would bring in €120m. Moreover, the groundwork has been laid to sign Andre Gomes as a successor, just not at the €45-50m that Valencia are demanding. To be clear, taking action like that is not indicative of Juventus resigning themselves to Pogba leaving. It is the contingency planning that all well-run clubs consider their responsibility.

Ultimately, as Juventus have always said, the decision rests with the player and what he believes is best for his development. A year ago, Pogba decided to remain at the club even with four mega offers on the table. That was some compliment to Juventus; it reflected their resilience and restored their standing among Europe's elite.

Whatever happens with Pogba this summer, the Vecchia Signora come out looking good.

Obviously it will be a blow if Pogba goes, but the return on an initial investment of £800k -- which Juventus have done everything to maximise by developing Pogba's talent, handing him the iconic No. 10 shirt and holding onto him during the year of the Euros in which he is the poster boy -- will go down as one of the best pieces of business in football history. It will also give Juventus plenty to work with. Should he stay, confidence in this team's ability to win the Champions League will be ever greater.

In the meantime, it depends -- as Raiola says -- on whether or not "an adequate alternative project arrives." That could be United, Old Trafford and the Premier League. Or it might be Real Madrid, the Santiago Bernabeu and La Liga. If not, as Raiola said in March, "we are ready to renew his contract."

This last potential outcome has been lost in the grist of the rumour mill and forgotten amid all the gossip. But don't rule out Pogba staying at Juventus.

Juventus can reject €120m for Pogba

    http://www.football-italia.net/87053/juventus-can-reject-€120m-pogba

    Jul 8, 2016

Sky Sport Italia note Juventus do not need to sell Paul Pogba and the player has no particular intention of leaving.

The English media continue to claim Manchester United are close to a deal worth €120m – not including the €25m fees to agent Mino Raiola.

He would also be offered wages worth €13m per season over a five-year contract.

Juventus cannot even attempt to compete with these terms, as Pogba is already at the top of their salary cap at €4.5m net.

However, the Bianconeri are one of the most financially solid clubs in Italy and can afford to turn down €120m.

If they were to accept the fee, it would be to bring several new players in to other areas of the squad, just as they did with Zinedine Zidane’s sale to Real Madrid.

Sky Sport Italia claim this evening that not only are Juventus in a position to reject the offer, but also that Pogba has no particular desire to leave Turin for a return to Manchester United.

This is the club he left as a free agent when his contract expired in 2012.

As part of that move, agent Raiola netted himself 20 per cent of any future transfer and Sky Sport Italia pundit Gianluca Di Marzio suggests it is the representative pushing for the Manchester United move.

Still only 23, Pogba has become one of the most famous players in the world and Juve are reinforcing with the express ambition of winning the Champions League.

He also has an excellent rapport with Coach Max Allegri, as shown by their viral ‘challenges’ on the training ground at free kicks or even basketball.

The same is also true of Manchester City target Leonardo Bonucci, who today released a video on social media confirming he was "going to rest for a bit to be ready for more Bianconeri battles."

IF MANCHESTER UNITED BID €120M FOR POGBA,

    JUVENTUS MUST SAY NO

The Red Devils are reportedly ready to make a world-record bid for their former player but the Bianconeri need to keep the French international if they are to win the Champions League.

    http://www.goal.com/euro2016/en/article/if-manchester-united-

    bid-120m-for-pogba-juventus-must-say-no/sh173xzer02u10gin8md9i9cq?

    Jul 9, 2016

Former Manchester boss Sir Alex Ferguson still likes to make out that Mino Raiola was to blame for Paul Pogba leaving Old Trafford four years ago.

"I distrusted him from the moment I met him," he wrote in his latest book, 'Leading', which was released last August. "We had Paul under a three-year contract, and it had a one-year renewal option which we were eager to sign.

"But Raiola suddenly appeared on the scene and our first meeting was a fiasco. He and I were like oil and water. From then on, our goose was cooked because Raiola had been able to integrate himself with Paul and his family and the player signed with Juventus."

Ferguson may appreciate Pogba the player, but, even now, it's clear that he doesn't understand Pogba the man. The Frenchman didn't leave United because of Raiola. He left because of Ferguson. Pogba wanted to play. Ferguson wouldn't let him - even in a league game against Blackburn in December 2011 when United were short on options in the middle of the park. Pogba understandably felt his big chance had finally arrived. Ferguson felt a right-back was a better option.

"Paul Scholes had retired; Darren Fletcher was injured - there was no one left to play in midfield," Pogba explained in an interview with Canal+ . "And I was training and I was beginning to get better bit by bit and the coach never stopped telling me, 'You're this far away.'

"And I didn't understand. This far away from what? Playing? From having some playing time? From getting on the field? Or what?.. And there was Rafael in midfield and I was disgusted."

    paul-pogba-france-legend-ps_kt2zz6y0w0gx

It was at that moment that Pogba realised he would have to go elsewhere to realise his ambitions. And those ambitions are lofty. This is not a man motivated by money. He is driven by a determination to be the best he can be - and he firmly believes that he can be among the best to have ever played the game.

"At 23, I have won four league titles,” the Frenchman told La Repubblica earlier this year. “Only four. That is not enough for my ambition.

"I want to write a story. I want to become the greatest midfielder of all time. I want to become a legend like Pele or [Diego] Maradona. A legend of football."

Pogba's next move will thus be based on determining which club can provide him with the best platform on which to achieve that goal. As the reigning champions of Europe, Real Madrid obviously represent an attractive proposition, though they will be slightly discouraged by the fact that Raiola "didn’t like the attitude of Madrid" during previous transfer talks. Manchester United, meanwhile, cannot offer Champions League football but they can offer the chance to work with Jose Mourinho, exorbitant wages and a fee in excess of €120m.

Pogba's current employers would be foolish to dismiss such a bid out of hand. As former playmaker Andrea Pirlo pointed out earlier this year, "Juventus will want to keep him but sometimes you can get a transfer fee with which you can rebuild an entire team."

That is undeniably true. A market operator as canny as Beppe Marotta could do wonderful things with €120m. However, cashing in Pogba now would completely undermine Juve's bid to win the Champions League.

After five successive Scudetti, their primary focus is on conquering Europe. Pogba is a key part of the plan. He is the best midfielder in Serie A - and they have just signed the second-best, Miralem Pjanic, to play alongside him next season. That means that Massimiliano Allegri can now field a midfield of Pogba, Pjanic and Claudio Marchisio, with Alex Sandro and Dani Alves providing the penetration from out wide.

When one considers that Juve already boast the best back-line in the world (Gianluigi Buffon, Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini) and Paulo Dybala in attack, it is clear that this Bianconeri side is arguably only one prolific striker shy of a Champions League-winning squad. Thus, if United do make a move, Juve must promptly ask Pogba why he would leave a club capable of winning the Champions League for one that won't even be in it next season.

    paul-pogba-mino-raiola-ps_1o14f5i8d0vvv1

The Italian champions must also play on the fact that they have provided him with everything he could have hoped to find in Turin: game time, trophies and the chance to play alongside the likes of Buffon and Pirlo, men he now describes as "role models".

"I want to achieve the same goals that they have in their careers," Pogba told theGazzetta dello Sport in May. "I've improved in the last few years and I think that I had to because I was surrounded by great players that are humble, hard-working and make you work hard."

Juve should thus be optimistic about their chances of persuading Pogba to give them at least one more year. From a financial perspective, even Raiola would see the sense in Juve wanting to hold onto their most prized possession for another season. "If Bale is worth €100m, then Paul is worth at least twice as much." Raiola said that three years ago and his client's value hasn't gone down in the interim; it has sky rocketed. It is only going to rise over the next 12 months, too, such is the ridiculous state of the transfer market.

As Raiola himself recently pointed out, “Just look at a player (Michy Batshuayi) who is on the bench of Belgium and Marseille, but is being sold for €40m [to Chelsea]."

Juve and Pogba made what Raiola called "a pact" last year, agreeing that they would let their star man depart if they received "a suitable offer". Crazy as it may seem, €120m does not represent a suitable offer for a player who has not yet peaked.

Furthermore, Juve do not need to sell. They do not need the money. They need Pogba. The challenge will be persuading Pogba that he still needs them.

Should Juventus Sell Paul Pogba? Money Talks!

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2650882-should-juventus-sell-paul-pogba-money-talks?

    Jul 9, 2016

Given the way his every move has been tracked so far this summer, Paul Pogba could be forgiven for donning a Mario Balotelli-esque "Why always me?" shirt or locking himself away in isolation until the 2016/17 season gets underway.

The France international is the face of UEFA Euro 2016, a tournament in which Les Bleus are the host nation, heavy favourites and one of the two finalists set to do battle for the trophy on Sunday. He is expected to power their dreams of triumphing on home soil, just as compatriots Michel Platini (Euro '84) and Zinedine Zidane (1998 FIFA World Cup) did.

That both those iconic midfielders did so while playing for Juventus is no coincidence. Nor is the fact Pogba was the sole player chosen to advertise the launch of the club’s new away kit on Wednesday.

    The Italian Champions never follow.
The 2016/17 away kit signed by@adidasfootball.#FirstNeverFollows

He is also the subject of the hottest—and potentially most expensive—transfer speculation, linked with a potential return to former sideManchester United. According to Sky Sport Italia (h/t Football Italia), the Old Trafford giants are preparing a bid of €120 million and a five-year contract for the 23-year-old.

Reportedly willing to pay Pogba a staggering €13 million a season—roughly treble his annual salary in Turin—such an offer would be extremely difficult for both him and Juventus to ignore despite the club repeatedly dismissing talk of an exit. Juve director general Beppe Marotta explained their stance to Italian news agency ANSA in June:

We haven't had any actual bids for Pogba, above all because we don't want to sit down to the negotiating table. Pogba is indispensable for the present and the future: Juve is not a selling club, in order to win you have to have the strength to keep champions.

Pogba is just fine in Turin, he has grown in these years, he can still improve. At this moment in time we're not opening talks.

But the fact remains the Bianconeri operate at a tier below the financial elite, and even the biggest clubs would struggle to turn down that incredible sum. It is a reality United themselves had to face whenReal Madrid took Cristiano Ronaldo to the Santiago Bernabeu back in 2009, recognition that everyone has a price.

The reasons the Premier League side want to re-sign Pogba are evident almost every time he steps onto the field. Simply put, he has everything a modern midfielder needs to succeed. Combining pace, power, skill, creativity and flair in abundance, he is capable of beating opponents with any or all of those attributes.

Former Old Trafford star Paul Ince told Sky Sports News HQ that the move would be "a perfect fit for him and for Man United," while Thierry Henry was even more effusive in an interview with the same outlet (h/tbeIN Sports):

Forget about France, I think he can be one of the best midfielders in history. He has the quality to do that. What I love about him at the moment is that he's doing what the team's asking him to do; maybe he's sometimes a bit more fancy at Juventus but because [Antoine] Griezmann is playing behind Giroud for France, he has to defend a bit more.

That's the sign of his intelligence. He's playing within himself in a way, to make sure the team has the right balance.

Henry acknowledged, however, that "he's still a Juve player and they're not going to let him go easily," with Pogba’s club working hard to convince him to stay with them and enjoy the culmination of their collective efforts.

Already this summer they have added Dani Alves and Miralem Pjanic, handing depth and even greater UEFA Champions League experience to a squad hoping to become a serious contender in European football’s elite competition.

That United will begin new boss Jose Mourinho’s tenure without a place on that stage is—perhaps alongside the idea of emulating Platini by lifting that trophy while wearing the club’s iconic No. 10 shirt—Juve’s biggest hope of keeping Pogba for at least one more season.

But whether now or in 12 or 24 months’ time, he almost certainly will move on. Whenever he has spoken to the press in the past, it has been evident Pogba has firm ideas bout how he sees his career playing out.

In an interview with Sky Sport Italia back in May, the Paris native spoke of the importance of securing a second domestic double with Juventus—something no Italian team had ever done—before revealing his next objectives.

"The next step is to win the Champions League," he said (h/t Football Italia). "I still have to improve before I can aim for the Ballon d'Or."

A burning ambition to be recognised as the best player in the world will almost certainly lead Pogba to eventually walk away from Juventus Stadium in order to play on an even grander stage.

Absolutely masterpiece of a video! You can not beat@dancolosimoo when it comes to this! ENJOY #Pogbahttps://youtu.be/XBJwq9H-PNw

It would be nothing new for La Vecchia Signora—the grand Old Lady of Italian football has seen Zidane, Gianluca Vialli and Roberto Baggio all move on in search of a new challenge. Each time, she has invested in the future, building a new team that has almost always risen to the pinnacle of the sport.

Over the past five seasons, that has continued. Winning the league title each year, Marotta and his team have gradually improved the squad, signing players of greater quality and adding depth to the options available to coach Massimiliano Allegri.

Working on a budget that pales in comparison to those of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, Juve reached the Champions League final in 2015 and will undoubtedly have a plan to replace Pogba. Paulo Dybala filled the void left by Carlos Tevez's departure last summer. Sami Khedira stepped in to ensure Andrea Pirlo’s World Cup-winning experience was not missed during the most recent campaign.

The prospect of seeing them operate with such a financial windfall would be intriguing, with names of potential targets who would almost certainly lessen the blow of any potential sale already beginning to surface.

Spanish newspaper Marca reported in June that the Bianconeri told Real Madrid they would have to send Germany international Toni Kroos to Turin as part of any deal to sign Pogba, a deal that would provide an immediate replacement as well as a major cash influx.

Elsewhere, La Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t TalkSport) believes Juventus would make a move for Leicester City star N'Golo Kante—who is also a target for Arsenal and Real Madrid—should his compatriot decide to move on.

That a deal for the 25-year-old would reportedly cost just £30 million shows the scope of what the Italian champions could do with the substantial fee they would receive for Pogba, as well as the sheer volume of players they could potentially sign.

Keeping the uber-talented Pogba is undoubtedly their first option, but if he does leave, perhaps Juventus—who run out to the sound of AC/DC hit "Thunderstruck" before every home game—should consider a different track by the Australian band.

"Tailored suits, chauffeured cars. Fine hotels and big cigars. Up for grabs, up for a price," go the words. Money talks indeed.

Report: Paul Pogba wants to stay in Turin,

    Juventus totally okay with it

    -manchester-united--real-madrid-2016-serie-a-epl-summer-transfer-rumors

    Jul 9, 2016

When we wake up, there are Paul Pogba transfer rumors. When we get ready to go to sleep, there are Paul Pogba transfer rumors. Every single day we see it happening. Twitter, Facebook, websites galore — it doesn't matter. Rumors say Pogba will demand a record-breaking fee and that it's either Real Madrid or Manchester United.

But when you see Pogba transfer rumors, what's the thing that's usually missing in them all? It's the fact that maybe, just maybe, Pogba wants to stay at Juventus.

For some, that would hard to believe seeing as some corners of the press have made it seem like a certainty that Pogba is leaving Juventus this summer. But when it comes to what Sky Sport Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio told us Friday night, it's something very different — and maybe not all too surprising — compared to what we've been reading in the press for pretty much the last couple of weeks and/or months.

Gianluca Di Marzio: Paul Pogba won't push to leave #Juventus , it's agent Mino Raiola who wants #MUFC move for 20% of the fee. #FRA

We can throw out all the reports about Pogba supposedly wanting to leave or how we've heard that friends are saying he wants to go to Manchester United or whatever. The fact still remains that, at least when Pogba talks in public, not once has he said that he has the desire to leave Juventus. Not once.

And what GDM is saying above is basically just what some of us have thought for months.

That €13 million salary that United are reportedly dangling in front of Pogba's face like it's a carrot on a string? Nah, not interested. Come again next time!

Is this a way to confirm what a lot of us already feel is the truth? Sure. When it comes to Pogba staying at Juventus, the only thing better than a reputable source reporting that Pogba is going to stay at the club is the player himself saying it. But still, every indication that Pogba is staying is good news — and this is one of those instances.

Del Piero: Pogba facing tough decision over Man Utd move

The former Italy international wants the midfielder to remain in Turin for at least one

more year but admits it would be difficult to turn down an approach from the Red Devils.

    http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892/transfer-zone/2016/07/09/25466412/-?

    Jul 9, 2016

Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero wants Paul Pogba to remain with the club, but concedes the Frenchman faces a difficult decision over a potential move to Manchester United.

Reports this week suggested United were set to bid £100 million for the midfielder they let go to Juve for nothing in 2012.

Such a fee would see the 23-year-old become the most expensive player in history, although he has more on his mind at present with France preparing to face Portugal in Sunday's Euro 2016 final.

"Pogba is a great player, has great potential and has already shown that to everybody," Del Piero, who spent almost 20 years at Juve, told Sky Sports.

"I don't know what's going to happen, there's a lot of talk and I think Juventus want to keep him for at least one more year.

"But definitely United are a huge club, it's also tough for him to decide what's best. As an Italian and a former Juventus player, I hope he stays for at least one more year."

Manchester United Transfer News: Latest on Paul Pogba and Juan Mata Rumours

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2651237-manchester-united-

    transfer-news-latest-on-paul-pogba-and-juan-mata-rumours?

    Jul 10, 2016

Manchester United are ready to offer Juan Mata to Juventusas a makeweight in a move for Paul Pogba.

That’s according to Steve Bates of the Sunday People (h/t theSunday Mirror), who stated new Red Devils boss Jose Mourinhois set to sell the Spain midfielder for a second time, having moved him on at Chelsea. He reportedly feels as though he can use Mata as an incentive in order to bring Pogba to Old Trafford.

“Italian sources claim Mata has been offered to Juve with United desperate to land 23-year-old powerhouse Pogba,” added Bates.

A grim picture for Mata has also been painted by Neil Fissler of the Sunday Express, with the new boss set to ruthlessly wield the axe. It’s suggested Everton will try to lure the Spain international toGoodison Park, with a fee of £20 million mentioned.

While Mata played a part in every league game under the guidance of former manager Louis van Gaal last season, he doesn’t possess the standard attributes Mourinho looks for in a footballer. Indeed, Bleacher Report’s Rob Blanchette doesn’t see where the former Chelsea man will fit in under Mourinho:

I think Rooney and Mata will both struggle to get into a Mourinho midfield, especially when Mkhitaryan rolls up. #MUFC

The player will not want to be on the periphery of things at OldTrafford. He missed out on the Spain squad for the 2016 UEFAEuropean Championship, and there was no consistency in the position he played at Old Trafford last term.

At a club such as Everton, Mata would potentially become the fulcrum of the team. When deployed behind the centre-forward, the ex-Chelsea man is a creative force, able to find space, pick passes and take on opponents. He’s experienced at the top level too, having won the Euros, FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Champions League.

However, as these numbers from league games show, he’s not robust enough in his defensive duties to fit into the way Mourinho wants to operate; Pogba, by comparison, is:

    Midfielder Comparison: Mata, Pogba
      Mata Pogba
    Apps (Sub) 34 (4) 33 (2)
    Goals 5 8
    Assists 6 12
    Shots per game 1.5 3.5
Key passes per game 1.4 1.5
    Dribbles per game 0.8 2.9
    Tackles per game 0.8 2.2
    Interceptions per game 0.6 1.3

    WhoScored.com

The midfield dynamo has been strongly linked with a switch to the Red Devils and valued at a whopping £100 million, per Bates.

It’s a huge amount of money for a young player who is still finding his feet at the highest level. Pogba has made massive progress since moving to Juventus in 2012 and has become the linchpin of the Italian champions’ hugely successful side in recent years. It’s an offer Juvewould surely have to consider, though.

Paul Hayward of the Daily Telegraph is unsure whether Pogba is a footballer who should demand that kind of capital:

This "£100m" valuation of Pogba is insane. Good player, but somehow he's found his way into the Messi/Ronaldo match-winner price bracket.

Juventus are said to be interested in Mata, although they would prefer cash up front if they were to move their star man on, according to Bates. Part-exchange deals are tough to negotiate in the modern game given just how complicated it is to get a standard, big-money transfer over the line.

After the captures of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Eric Bailly and ZlatanIbrahimovic, getting Pogba on board would be another exciting signing from Mourinho, reasserting his team’s credentials as title challengers this season. It’d also send a message to the football world that the Red Devils mean business once again, per sports journalist Liam Canning:

Paul Pogba would be a dream signing for José Mourinho: it puts down a marker to all other clubs, no messing around. A pipe dream perhaps.

    Should United keep Mata?

    • Yes, he's a quality player with something to offer.

      40.5%

    • No, he's evidently not the right fit for Mourinho.

      59.5%

Many associated with United would be sad to see the back of Mata. The midfielder has so much class, has performed well for the Red Devils and netted some vital goals for the football club since his move from the Blues in 2014.

Pogba is the perfect player for Mourinhoto build his United side around in the long term. The Frenchman has both poise and power, and with some fine tuning, he could become even more of a behemoth in the middle of the park.

Paul Pogba's exit from Man United left players stunned - Rio Ferdinand

    Jul 10, 2016

Paul Pogba's departure from Manchester United left the club's players wondering "what the hell is going on?" according to former captain Rio Ferdinand.

Juventus midfielder Pogba, 23, made just seven appearances in all competitions for United before moving to the Serie A side as a 19-year-old in the summer of 2012.

The France international is preparing for the Euro 2016 final against Portugal on Sunday night amid reports that United are set to make a move to bring him back to Old Trafford.

Discussing the midfielder, Ferdinand wrote in the Sunday Times: "He was 17, nearly 18, and before he came into the changing room I said, 'Listen, this kid, I've seen him play for the reserves and youths and he has something.'

"After he trained, not a player in that Manchester United first team disagreed. Everyone was sold on Paul Pogba. When he left United every player was saying, 'What the hell is going on?' But he came to a decision to leave and sometimes these things happen in football."

Paul Pogba made just seven appearances in all competitions for Manchester United.

In his autobiography, former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson blamed Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, for the move to Juve.

Pogba's mother, though, was quoted last month as saying that Ferguson reduced her son to tears at United with the way he was treated.

Ferdinand praised Pogba's character and for moving on successfully, but would love to see him back at United.

"His self-belief in quitting United for Juventus showed his confidence in his ability, and that belief is actually a positive thing," he wrote. "It comes from a drive to improve himself.

"I would love him to return. United need personalities. The Premier League needs personalities. The league needs star players, charisma, and at the moment they are not in England. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is here. Yes, that's a great start, but how long for?"

Real Madrid reject Pogba bidding war

    http://www.football-italia.net/87133/real-madrid-reject-pogba-bidding-war

    Jul 10, 2016

Manchester United appear to be the only club prepared to pay Juventus €120m for Paul Pogba, as Real Madrid back out of the race.

According to Sky Sports News in the UK and Spanish paper Marca, Real Madrid have made it clear they will not attempt to match the latest proposal coming out of Old Trafford.

Because agent Mino Raiola is set to receive 20 per cent of a future transfer, the price-tag would go beyond the initial €100m (£85m) and above €120m (£105m).

That is not including the wages, which are believed to be worth €13m per year – translating as £250,000 per week.

Pogba left Manchester United as a free agent in 2012, arriving as an unknown teenager and in the space of four years transformed into a world superstar.

He will take part in the Euro 2016 Final between France and Portugal this evening.

Italian media are confident Juventus have no intention of selling Pogba, as they are forming a squad to challenge for the Champions League after reaching the Final in 2015.

It’s reported they will also attempt to stave off competition by raising their salary cap from €4.5m to €7m.
Manchester United are spending huge sums on the transfer market under new Coach Jose Mourinho, but are only in the Europa League this season.

Man Utd accelerate for Juve's Pogba

    http://www.football-italia.net/87158/man-utd-accelerate-juves-pogba

    Jul 11, 2016

Manchester United are trying to sign Juventus' Paul Pogba quickly, before Real Madrid decide to make a move themselves.

The French star still represents the dream of many top European clubs, even though the most recent rumours suggested the Merengues were out of the race.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United are now pressing as hard as possible, and are looking to sign Pogba shortly.

Their offer includes a payment of €100m plus €23m in bonuses, whilst Pogba would earn €15m per season. That's almost three times his current salary of €6m yearly.

The idea is to close a deal before Real Madrid can make up their minds to go on a full offensive, bringing their considerable resources and magnetism in play.

Juventus, however, are apparently still firm that they do not want to sell the player.

'Man Utd made a huge error letting Pogba leave' -

Ferdinand wants Old Trafford return for France star

The former Red Devils midfielder left Manchester as a 19-year-old in 2012, opting

to join Italian giants Juve with whom he has won four consecutive Italian titles.

    Jul 11, 2016

Manchester United made a huge error letting Paul Pogba leave the club in 2012, says former Red Devils defender Rio Ferdinand.

The French midfielder left Old Trafford as a 19-year-old, with just seven appearances in all competitions for the club, deciding that a move to Juventus would provide the platform upon which he could thrive.

The 23-year-old has gone on to win four successive Serie A titles with the Turin side and starred for the French national team at Euro 2016, leaving Ferdinand frustrated that his former team-mate decided to leave United four years ago.

"Everyone was sold on Paul Pogba. When he left United every player was saying, 'What the hell is going on?', the former centre-half wrote in the Sunday Times. "Everyone in that changing room knew that him leaving was a huge, huge error.

"He was 17, nearly 18, and before he came into the changing room I said, 'Listen, this kid, I've seen him play for the reserves and youths and he has something.'

"After he trained, no player in that Manchester United first team disagreed. Everyone was sold on Paul Pogba. But he came to a decision to leave and sometimes these things happen in football."

Speculation surrounding Pogba's future has been constant during Euro 2016, with reports suggesting a £100 million summer return to Old Trafford could be on the cards.

"I would love him to return," Ferdinand added. "United need personalities. The Premier League needs personalities. The league needs star players, charisma, and at the moment they are not in England. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is here. Yes, that's a great start, but how long for?"

"This is potentially the £100m kid at 23 years old, he's got huge potential. The thing that stood out for me when I first met him other than he ability was his personality,' he told BBC1's coverage of the Euro 2016 final between Portugal and France.

"This kid wants to be the best, he started this tournament very anxious, like a kid who had something to prove after he'd been hyped up and was worthy of that hype but he's grown into this tournament [for France]. "

Manchester United Transfer News: Paul Pogba

and Blaise Matuidi Plan Amid Rumours

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2651416-manchester-united-

    transfer-news-paul-pogba-and-blaise-matuidi-plan-amid-rumours?

    Jul 11, 2016

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho reportedly wants to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Blaise Matuidi as well asJuventus midfielder Paul Pogba.

That’s according to ESPN's Miguel Delaney (h/t Lee Astley of theSun), who has reported that despite the fact the latter could cost a whopping £100 million, Matuidi is also on the club’s list of targets. Astley noted Mourinho “wants both players to join his red revolution that could see up to eight players sold.”

United could reportedly meet resistance from Juve in their pursuit of Pogba, though. Calciomercato’s Fabrizio Romano (translated by Edo Dalmonte) reported he and defender Leonardo Bonucci are considered as “untouchable” by the Italian champions, and the only way they will each be allowed to move is if they agitate for one themselves.

“So far, this doesn't seem very likely,” continued Romano. “Despite being offered €13 million (£11.5 million) a season by [Mourinho’s] Manchester United, [Pogba] has always spoken fondly of Juventus.”

Indeed, as reported by Paul Hirst from the Times, Juventus are reportedly ready to offer the Frenchman a new contract, while his agent, Mino Raiola, has played down talk of a possible transfer:

Mino Raiola on Pogba: “Maybe he will not leave. He's in no rush to leave, & Juve do not want him to go. They want him to renew his contract

(Raiola ctnd): "Several big clubs are interested in Paul Pogba. Juventus are a club that want to keep their star players.”

The speculation surrounding Pogba is likely to make for the transfer saga of this summer. Here is a look at why there is so much hype when it comes to a potential move to the Premier League:

The Frenchman left United in 2012 in search of first-team football. It’s something he found at Juventus, as well as a platform to become one of the standout midfielders in European football.

Last term especially he excelled. Pogba was given more responsibility by his manager Massimiliano Allegri, and in turn his rumbustious performances at the crux of the Juventus team drove the Bianconeri to another title. They’re the kind of displays that have made fans of every football club in Europe envious.

At the UEFA European Championship, Pogba had a tournament of ups and downs, although Sport Witness doesn’t feel as though it should be a basis for judgement of the player:

Paul Pogba isn't to be judged on the final, just like Premier League clubs shouldn't be submitting £20m bids for Eder.

Pogba had a strange tournament. At times looked liked one of world's best, at other times not so much. He's 23, consistency expected soon.

Indeed, although there would be question marks over his consistency and the transfer fee should this deal go ahead, plenty of United fans wouldn’t be too concerned. Pogba, after all, would be a significant upgrade on the club’s current midfield options and has the potential to be the team’s linchpin for many years.

Juventus Reject €132 Million Offer From Manchester United For Midfielder

    http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2016/07/juventus-reject-e132-million-offer-from-manchester-united-for-midfielder/?

    Jul 11, 2016

Juventus have rejected a huge offer from Manchester United for star midfielder Paul Pogba as the transfer saga surrounding the Frenchman continues.

Pogba and the Red Devils have been heavily linked for weeks and it was thought that a deal would be reached soon as the player’s agent gave the green light for a transfer to the English Premier League.

New reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, however, suggest otherwise as the Bianconeri have declined a whopping €132 million offer for the 23-year-old Euro 2016 runner-up.

It also reported that Pogba would have signed a five-year contract worth €15 million for him per year, which would have made him the highest paid player in England a third highest worldwide, beaten only by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Jose Mourinho and United still have the rest of the summer transfer window to complete a deal to bring Pogba back to Old Trafford, after his stint with them as a youngster, however the current Serie A champions look unlikely to budge.

Juventus want to renew Man United target Paul Pogba's contract - agent

    http://www.espnfc.co.uk/story/2911358/juventus-want-to-renew-man-united-target-paul-pogbas-contract-agent

    Jul 11, 2016

Paul Pogba's agent has said Juventus want to renew the midfielder's contract and that he remains happy in Turin, cooling speculation that a move to Manchester United is edging closer.

Sources have told ESPN FC in recent days that United are hoping to speak to Pogba, 23, this week to try to convince him to return to Old Trafford, with intermediaries already having agreed basic terms with both Juventus and the player's agent.

Their hopes of signing the France international, whose preference had been to join Real Madrid, were given a further boost as Sky Sports News reported on Sunday that the European champions had ended their interest for financial reasons.

However, Italian reports have long suggested that Juve remain highly reluctant to sell, and Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, has suggested he could now prolong his stay with the Italian champions.

"There is a lot of talk about Paul's future, but maybe he will not leave Juventus," Raiola, who also represents new United signings Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, told The Times.

"He is in no rush to leave, and Juventus do not want him to go. They want him to renew his contract. Paul is not desperate to move. We are very happy at Juventus and they are a club that want to keep their star players."

The agent added that "several big clubs" remain interested in Pogba.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Monday that United are offering €100 million up front for Pogba with a further €23m in bonuses, and a €15m annual salary.

However, the Italian newspaper said Juve remain determined to retain the player they signed after the expiry of his United contract in 2012.

Spanish newspaper AS had earlier reported that United had agreed to meet Juve's €120m asking price and had accepted Pogba's salary demands.

Paul Pogba’s agent says the midfielder is “very happy at Juventus” and “in no rush to leave” for Manchester United.

There has been intense speculation in recent days that the French international will return to Old Trafford, with a potential fee of €120m mooted.

However, the 23-year-old is under contract until 2019, and the Bianconeri have made it clear they don’t want to sell him.

“There is a lot of talk about Paul’s future, but maybe he will not leave Juventus,” Raiola told the Times.

“He is in no rush to leave, and Juventus do not want him to go. They want him to renew his contract.

“Paul is not desperate to move. We are very happy at Juventus and they are a club that want to keep their star players.

“Juventus have treated Paul exceptionally well. They are a fantastic club and they believe in him.”

The Old Lady’s general manager has repeatedly stated that they “will not sell”Pogba this summer.

Despite reports of a deal with Manchester United, Mino Raiola says Paul Pogba may not leave Juventus.

A number of British newspapers have reported that a deal is in place for United to purchase the French midfielder for a staggering €120m.

Speaking to the Times, Raiola has reiterated Juve’s firm intention to keep the player in Turin.

“There is a lot of talk about Paul’s future, but maybe he will not leave Juventus,” Raiola told the paper.

Pogba in 'no rush' to leave Juventus - agent

The France star's representative, Mino Raiola, says the midfielder's future remains shrouded

in doubt but insists he could decide to sign a new contract with the Serie A side .

Paul Pogba may yet decide to sign a new contract with Juventus despite reported interest from Real Madrid and Manchester United, according to his agent Mino Raiola.

France star Pogba has been strongly linked with a summer move away from Turin, with Madrid and United understood to be leading the chase for his services.

United, who sold Pogba to Juventus in 2012, are reportedly keen to re-sign the midfielder for a world record fee of £100m, while Raiola stated last June that talks were under way with Madrid.

However, Raiola claims Pogba - who signed a five-year deal at Juventus in October 2014 - is happy with the Serie A giants who are keen for him to ink a new contract extension.

"There is a lot of talk about Paul's future, but maybe he will not leave Juventus," Raiola told The Times.

"He is in no rush to leave, and Juventus do not want him to go. They want him to renew his contract.

"Paul is not desperate to move. We are very happy at Juventus and they are a club that want to keep their star players."

However, Raiola did claim "several big clubs are in pursuit of his services".

Raiola: ‘Pogba doesn’t want to leave’

    http://www.football-italia.net/87202/raiola-‘pogba-doesn’t-want-leave’?

    Jul 11, 2016

Mino Raiola admits Paul Pogba “doesn’t feel that he wants to leave Juventus” but “don’t rule anything out”.

The midfielder has been heavily linked with Manchester United and Real Madrid, but the Bianconeri have been consistent in saying that they won’t let him leave unless he asks to go.

“Juve don’t want to lose Pogba, they want him to stay for a long time and we've discussed a renewal,” Raiola, Pogba's agent, explained to Sky.

“And he doesn’t feel that he wants to leave Juventus. We're calm.

“Will he stay then? We don’t rule anything out, not even a transfer to another club, because the transfer window is long, it closes in September.

“I'm not ruling out a sale or a renewal. Between Raiola and every club in the world there’s an open channel, not just Manchester United.”

Another of Raiola’s famous clients, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has already moved to Old Trafford, but the agent insists he didn’t snub Milan.

"He was followed by a lot of clubs, but he showed a desire to go to Manchester United.

“Milan? They’re an important team who are in Zlatan’s heart, so there was the possibility of a return. The relationship has always been excellent, which is why there was a chance to come back.”

Finally, there was an update on Mario Balotelli and Gianluigi Donnarumma.

“Balotelli? I’m an optimistic person, I strongly believe in the player, this season wasn’t positive but I think Mario can show his value.

“Liverpool wanted him to come back to work with Klopp, so we’ll see how he finds him.

“As for Donnarumma, there’s every reason for him to renew with Milan.”

Mino Raiola: Paul Pogba 'is in no rush' to leave Juventus

    This is ... not shocking.

    paul-pogba-is-in-no-rush-to-leave-juventus-2016-serie-a-interview

    Jul 12, 2016

Some of the time when we hear agents talk, we throw it out the window because we know that what they're saying is completely out of left field. Then there's the rather interesting twists and turns that come with every single Mino Raiola interview — which could probably be thrown into their own unique category if we feel like going there. (Although it's not suggested.)

Monday brought us not one, but two Mino interviews. And the general message of it is one that is relatively good news when it comes to Paul Pogba staying right where he is. Not just in one interview, but in both of them. What's better than one confirmation that Pogba wants to stay at Juventus? Well, two — even if it's from the same guy and his name is Mino Raiola.

"There is a lot of talk about Paul's future, but maybe he will not leave Juventus," Raiola told the Times.

"He is in no rush to leave, and Juventus do not want him to go. They want him to renew his contract.

"Paul is not desperate to move. We are very happy at Juventus and they are a club that want to keep their star players.

"Juventus have treated Paul exceptionally well. They are a fantastic club and they believe in him."

And yet, later in the day on Monday, Mino had this to say about Pogba's future at Juventus:

"Juve don't want to lose Pogba, they want him to stay for a long time," Raiola explained to Sky.

"And he doesn't feel that he wants to leave Juventus.

"Will he stay then? I don't rule anything out, not even a transfer to another club because the transfer window is long, it closes in September.

"Between Raiola and every club in the world there's an open channel, not just Manchester United."

    (Source: Football Italia)

I don't know about you guys, but to see Raiola come out and say all of this, after all of his other statements this summer, is rather amusing. He is one of the big-time agents for a reason — he doesn't necessarily have any kind of desire to apese the clubs his players are at, but have the best interest of his clients in mind. Do we think that Raiola leaving the door open for Pogba to head to another club isn't related to potentially getting a pay raise for Juventus' No. 10? Yeah, that's exactly what Raiola is going for, if not already starting talks with Juve.

So if we see Juventus announcing a Pogba contract extension soon, then you'll have your answer.

But the main message that is privy to this discussion is the fact that Raiola, who has said some things this summer that have made plenty of us raise our eyebrows, has openly admitted what we all want to hear — Pogba doesn't want leave Juventus and that Juve have absolutely no intention to sell him. Sure, it's agent talk, but considering the fact that the English press is virtually declaring Pogba is on his way to Manchester United, I'll be happy to hear Raiola say Pogba is staying at Juventus every single day of the week if that what it takes to keep Pogba around.

REAL MADRID END PAUL POGBA INTEREST,

TURN ATTENTION TO VALENCIA’S ANDRE GOMES

Real Madrid have conceded defeat in the race to sign Juventus’ Paul Pogba

and have now set their sights on Valencia’s Andre Gomes.

Los Blancos have dropped their interest in Juventus and French star Paul Pogba. They are unable to match up to Juventus’ asking price for the former Manchester United man.

According to SkySports, the Champions League winners are unable to compete with Manchester United, who are the only team who seem to be willing to meet Juventus’ figures, which along with his agent’s fees, are expected to go up to around £105 million [€123 million]. Apart from that fee, Pogba’s wages are expected to come up to around £250,000-a-week for 5 years.

The report further states that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is aware of his side’s inability to match up to Manchester United’s spending power and hence, has withdrawn from negotiations despite reports emerging of the 23-year-old favouring a move to Madrid.

Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has helped see through the transfer of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Old Trafford this summer and his good working relationship with the Red Devils’ is also an added advantage in their favour.

Instead, Real Madrid will reportedly turn their attentions to Barcelona, Manchester United, Juventus and Chelsea target Andre Gomes. The Portuguese was a part of his nation’s European Championship contingent which beat Pogba’s France in the final.

The Valencia star has gown in stature and skill over the course of the past two years and is now one of the finest play makers in Spain. An extremely exciting prospect, Gomes has already won titles with Benfica at an early age and last night, he was crowned European Champion with Portugal. Reports had emerged earlier of Real being interested in the young midfielder, but now after giving up on Pogba, they will be sure to step up their interest as they pursue him.

Barcelona were reportedly willing to offload Arda Turan in order to raise funds and make space for the highly-rated Gomes. Juventus, who are losing Paul Pogba are also looking to replace him with Gomes, who is of the same age as the Frenchman.

Deposed Premier League Champions Chelsea were reported to have already had a bid worth £32 million for Gomes rejected by Los Che, who want a reported £42 million for their star man, with the price expected to increase post his European success. That fee should be no issue for Real Madrid, should they wish to strengthen, and while Gomes may not be as good as Pogba, the young Portuguese is a hugely exciting prospect who could be Modric’s long term replacement.
