Pierpaolo Bisoli admitted he was moved by his players' celebrations as they equalised against Juventus, and praised their response to recent criticism.

The former Cagliari boss was under scrutiny taking the team into Wednesday night's match, with the team goalless and pointless from two games played.

However, Daniele Portanova's goal earned a point for the Rossoblu, and Bisoli thanked his players, and spoken of the importance of the result.

The Turin club's head coach was rather disappointed with the final result,

Juventus coach Antonio Conte has expressed his satisfaction with his side's performance in the 1-1 Serie A draw at home against Bologna on Wednesday evening, although he was slightly disappointed with the final result.

The Turin side were reduced to 10 men shortly before the interval when Mirko Vucinic received his marching orders, but they managed to keep Bologna under pressure and came close to netting the winner on several occasions.

"It's a shame that we didn't win the game, but I

Andrea Barzagli remains positive despite Bologna draw

The former Wolfsburg centre-back insists that there is still cause for optimism

after share of the spoils on Wednesday and suggests that the Turin side are better than last season.

c3media1342793immaginex.jpg

Sep 22, 2011

Andrea Barzagli believes that Juventus have already shown tangible proof of improvement in comparison to last season's performances as he reflected on Wednesday evening's 1-1 Serie A draw against Bologna.

The Turin giants had to settle for seventh spot in the table last term, but have impressed in the opening weeks of the 2011-12 campaign, and Barzagli is confident that they will continue to improve.

"It's only the third game of the season, but we have already seen that this year we have something more [compared to last season]," Barzagli was quoted as saying by Tuttosport.

"We must continue to improve to win games like the one against Bologna. But I think that Wednesday night there was a lot of bad luck, and their goalkeeper made some great saves."

Despite dropping points for the first time this season, the Turin giants remain level with fellow league leaders Udinese and Genoa.

Quagliarella and Luca Toni rampant as Juventus warm up

for Catania with 14-goal demolition of Lascaris

The Turin club's forwards rack up goals as a side comprised of players absent

for the midweek draw with Bologna demolish Serie D opponents in a practice game.

Sep 23, 2011

A Juventus representative side comprised of players who did not start Wednesday's draw with Bologna hit 14 goals against Serie D outfit Lascaris as the Turin giants began preparations for Sunday's trip to Catania, Tuttosport reports.

The Pianezza-based side faced a team including Fabio Quagliarella and Luca Toni in attack. Both Italy internationals staked their claim for a place in the starting XI on Sunday, with Quagliarella claiming six of the goals, and Toni four.

Eljero Elia also scored twice, with Marco Motta and Luca Marrone completing the rout.

In what was a strong line-up, Antonio Conte also sent Fabio Grosso, Arturo Vidal and Leonardo Bonucci to face the minnows. They were given a full run out with the exception of Vidal, who only featured in the first half after playing against Bologna.

Vincenzo Montella is set to make several changes to the Catania squad that fell apart midweek against Genoa, in what was a 3-0 reverse at the Marassi.

The alterations begin in defence, as right-back Alessandro Potenza looks likely to be dropped in favour of Pablo Alvarez. Furthermore, Adrian Ricchiuti should be preferred to Pablo Ledesma and in attack, Gonzalo Bergessio is set to be replaced by Davide Lanzafame, a youth product of the visiting team. However, there is still no sign of injury-hit pair Nicola Legrottaglie or Cristian Llama returning to the fold.

Meanwhile for Juventus, Antonio Conte will also act in similar vein to his Sicilian counterpart Montella and make a few changes to his set-up too, after a disappointing share of the spoils against Bologna, where Mirko Vucinic was both hero and villain for his goal and sending-off.

Fans of the Old Lady will be pleased to see Eljero Elia regain full fitness during the past week, and as a result, he looks ready to be thrusted into his team's midfield, replacing Simone Pepe on the left. In addition, a new strikeforce is being prepared, with Alessandro Matri and Fabio Quagliarella set to form the visitor's attack, as Vucinic is suspended and Alessandro Del Piero is being heavily tipped to begin on the bench.

Antonio Conte happy with his side's progress

The Turin outfit have started the season with two wins out of three games,

and their former midfielder feels his team are on the right track for success.

Sep 24, 2011

Juventus coach Antonio Conte has revealed that he feels his team are on the right track for success, and is looking for three points away to Catania on Sunday.

The Turin side have started the 2011-12 campaign well, winning two of their first three games, with improved performances from last term.

Despite a 1-1 draw against Bologna on Wednesday night, the former midfielder is content with the season to date.

"So far I have been satisfied, the boys have always interpreted the events in the right way," Conte told Corriere dello Sport.

"In the second half against Bologna, although outnumbered, I saw a team determined and firm. I have seen [a team] disappointed in the dressing room and this is positive, and means that we are on track."

Juventus travel to the Stadio Angelo Massimino on Sunday, and the 42-year-old is confident of a win.

"I want to see players with unlimited mileage. We need a victory against Catania and I am convinced that we will do everything to win," he concluded.

Serie A Preview

Sep 24, 2011

Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero has stressed the importance of taking three points at Catania tomorrow.

The Turin giants enjoyed consecutive wins before being held to a 1-1 draw by Bologna in the last round and Del Piero is hoping to get back on track at the first opportunity.

"We must win at Catania to confirm the good work we have done so far,'' Del Piero said.

"We played to win against Bologna and we played our way and managed to put them under pressure.

"I didn't see a lack of willingness or determination from my team-mates against a team that defended very well.

"However, Mirko Vucinic's sending off hurt us as we had to play down to 10 men for the entire second half.''

Juve will have to overcome the absence of pivotal striker Vucinic.

The Montenegrin forward, who scored in midweek, will serve a one-match ban on Sunday.

Eljero Elia is expected to make his Serie A debut this weekend and will replace Vucinic in Juve's attack.

Catania coach Vincenzo Montella wants his side to show more focus after their 3-0 defeat at Genoa in midweek.

The Sicilian outfit gave away two goals in the space of five minutes to concede their first defeat of the campaign.

"We had six minutes of amnesia and we lost,'' Montella said.

"We have to be more focused and determined.

"We cannot make the mistakes we made and think we will escape punishment.''

Lack of goals has been Catania's main problem so far with the Sicilian outfit having found the back of the net just once.

Montella will be hoping Davide Lanzafame and Alejandro Gomez will open their goal accounts against Juve.

The hosts will be bolstered by the return of midfield pair Sergio Almiron and Mariano Izco, who missed the game at Genoa through injury.
