Dybala, Bonucci set for renewals

http://www.football-italia.net/94077/dybala-bonucci-set-renewals?

Nov 8, 2016

Leonardo Bonucci and Paulo Dybala are both reportedly set to extend their Juventus contracts until 2021.

The Bianconeri have been working on a renewal for Bonucci for some time, with Chelsea and Manchester City having shown interest.

Now Tuttosport reprots that an agreement is very close, and the centre-back will commit until 2021 on a salary of around €4.5m per season.

In addition, the newspaper reports that Dybala will be given a new deal of the same length, earning €5m per season plus bonuses.

After joining from Palermo last summer, the Argentine scored 20 goals and provided nine assists in all competitions, and he already has four goals and two assists this term.

Bonucci: ‘Football not great but…’

http://www.football-italia.net/94443/bonucci-‘football-not-great-but…’?

Nov 17, 2016

Leonardo Bonucci admits Juventus “are not playing great football” but “right now all that counts is scoring points”.

The Bianconeri are top of Serie A, and will go top of their Champions League group with a win at Sevilla next midweek.

However, Massimiliano Allegri’s side have been criticised for their style of play so far this season, but Bonucci is not concerned.

“I’m objective: we’re not playing great football,” Bonucci told reporters.

“We’re in November though, and there’s time to improve. Right now all that counts is scoring points, then in January and February we’ll be able to train consistently and try something more.

“With [Paulo] Dybala and [Marko] Pjaca we’ll raise our level in training and also the game.

“We shouldn’t even think about the idea of failing to get through in the Champions League, that’s our goal. We’ve watched Sevilla, they cause problems for everyone in the Spanish League, but we’ll go there with the right awareness.

“Honestly, if you look at the other groups this year it’s really relative finishing first or second, then you have to be lucky in the draw.

“We have to be convinced we can come top though.”

‘Bonucci at the top of his game’

http://www.football-italia.net/94456/‘bonucci-top-his-game’

Nov 17, 2016

Franco Baresi believes Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci “has reached full maturity”.

The Bianconeri centre-back has been praised heavily in recent seasons, with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola naming him as one of his favourite players.

Now one of the all-time great defenders has given his opinion, with the Milan legend also hailing Bonucci’s contribution.

“Bonucci has reached full maturity,” Baresi told Corriere dello Sport.

“He’s a pillar of the Azzurri. Every defender has his own characteristics, and Bonucci combines physicality, quality and intelligence.

“That allows him to fit well with [Andrea] Barzagli and [Giorgio] Chiellini, creating a winning journey which has allowed them to open up a winning cycle.

“It happened with my Milan too.”

Juventus face full-blown injury crisis

as Bonucci set for two months out

Massimiliano Allegri's side have been dealt another blow to their hopes of retaining

the Serie A title, with the Italian defender added to their lengthy injury list.

Nov 28, 2016

Juventus will be without another of their key players as Leonardo Bonucci has been ruled out for two months, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The defender is the latest of Massimiliano Allegri's players to have their name added to the injury list, after pulling up just 33 minutes into Juve's 3-1 defeat to Serie A.

Recent signing Dani Alves, who came to the club in June from Barcelona, also went off injured during the defeat, and faces three months on the sidelines with a broken leg.

Bonucci's thigh muscle problem will keep him out of action until the new year, meaning he will miss matches against Roma and Milan as well as the visit to local rivals Torino.

Allegri's side currently sit at the top of Serie A, just four points clear of Roma and Milan, with Lazio and Atalanta just a point further behind.

The Bianconeri have suffered numerous injury problems this season, with Andrea Barzagli and Paulo Dybala also missing time, while Allegri was even forced to call upon 16-year-old Moise Kean to fill in as Gonzalo Higuain was sidelined with a muscle problem.

Higuain missed Juventus's 3-1 Champions League victory over Sevilla, which guaranteed their place in the knockout stage of the competition with one game remaining.

Bonucci and Alves are certainties to miss Juve's last Group H game on Wednesday, as Dinamo Zagreb come to Turin.

Official: Bonucci renews with Juve

http://www.football-italia.net/95897/official-bonucci-renews-juve

Nov 19, 2016

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci has renewed his contract with the club until 2021.

Amidst interest from Chelsea and Manchester City, the 29-year-old took to his Twitter account to break the news.

“I have renewed until 2021! I chose the place where I became great among the greats. I have only one objective, to keep winning!”

The contract is thought to bring the player in line with other top earners at the club with a reported salary of €4.5m per season plus bonuses.

Calciomercato.com report that this means the defender has almost tripled his salary in less than two years.

The Viterbo native has become the third player to renew with the Bianconeri this week, with extensions for Daniele Rugani and Stefano Sturaro having already been announced.

OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL: Juventus defender Leonardo

Bonucci signs contract extension through 2021

-leonardo-bonucci-extends-contract-through-2021-serie-a-team-news

Nov 19, 2016

Last week, we saw a pair of Juventus’ youngest players receive contract extensions that pretty much showed that Daniele Rugani and Stefano Sturaro are viewed as long-term contributors. Monday brought a contract extension for one of the club’s true cornerstones.

In what has become a theme over the last week, as the clock struck 12 noon in Italy, Juventus were taking to Twitter and announcing a contract through the 2020-21 season. This time it was for defender Leonardo Bonucci, who, along with baby-faced striker Paulo Dybala, has been one of the long-rumored contract extension recipients over the past few months. Just for added measure, Bonucci also announced on his personal Facebook page that he had signed a new deal through 2021, adding a pretty heartfelt message along with it about staying in Turin for the next five seasons at the very least.

Good news? No.

Great news? Yes!

Once a mistake-prone young defender who had somewhat of a reputation for getting rattled in big matches, Bonucci has now become one of the best in the whole damn world. There are few defenders in the world who can combine Bonucci’s ability to not only defend as well as anybody but also play the ball out of the back and be the initiator in a lot of what Juventus does offensively. He has become one of Juve’s most consistent performers — something that might not have been imaginable during his first few years in Turin after his impressive performances with Bari.

Already one of Juventus’ highest-paid players, Bonucci, 29, is certainly going to receive a nice little raise with the announcement of this new contract, one would imagine.

A former Inter youth product, there are few players who show their love for Juventus more than Bonucci does. How many times have we seen him spending time in the curva with the fans when he serves a yellow card suspension or is out injured? He loves this club as much as anybody, and this contract extension is just another sign that he is going absolutely nowhere. And don’t let the English press tell you otherwise.

I guess it’s time to take bets on who the next Juventus player to have a new contract announced will be. Three common occurrences are considered a trend, and Juventus certainly have announced three contract extensions in the past seven days.

Bonucci: 'Proud to renew until 2021'

http://www.football-italia.net/95899/bonucci-proud-renew-until-2021

Nov 19, 2016

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci admits that his choice to renew with the club until 2021 'gives him enormous pride.'

The Viterbo-native had been subject to interest from both Manchester City and Chelsea, but spoke of his desire to improve with the Bianconeri.

"I have renewed until 2021," the Italy international told the Juventus official website. "I'm glad and proud of this choice to continue on a glorious and increasingly victorious path until 2021.

"It makes me feel responsible, in a nice way. I feel part of a big family and that gets you working hard.

"It makes you want to always put yourself at the disposition of your teammates, helping in times of difficulty and celebrating together in moments of joy and happiness.

"These years are been full of victories and we are aware that from now on it will be increasingly difficult to get results, but life would be no good if there wasn’t anything to fight for.

"Our goal is to play every game to win and to keep getting better and better up until 2021. After that maybe we will go even further together, collecting many trophies.

"I always said that my improvement will end when I hang up my boots. It is a trivial phrase but it reflects my desire to improve myself, to always question my performances, and to never give up."

Bonucci: 'contract helps me improve'

http://www.football-italia.net/95900/bonucci-contract-helps-me-improve

Nov 19, 2016

Leonardo Bonucci reveals that his contract renewal gives him the 'incentive to be better every day'.

After detailing his pride in a new deal that will run until 2021, the defender also took the opportunity to thank the people who have been instrumental in his success.

"At Juve I have found some really great people in a technical, tactical, sporting, and moral sense that have helped me to grow," Bonucci continued in an interview with the Juventus official website.

"From the Coaches who have made me what I am today, to the President and figures such as [Pavel] Nedved, [Beppe] Marotta and [Fabio] Paratici. They give me and my teammates so much on a personal level.

"Off the field I'm lucky to be supported by an amazing wife who has given me two beautiful children.

"Not least I was lucky enough to meet a person who has given me so much in the way of motivational advice, and has helped me to grow so much from this point of view.

"Everyone knows that  [Alberto] Ferrarini is important to me and a thank you goes to my agent [Alessandro] Lucci who has worked so hard for this renewal.

"He is proud that this Bonucci-Juventus duo will continue together. It’s a great love that started six, almost seven years ago and we're fine, we are a family.

"I have so much desire to return to the field, making myself available to Coaches and teammates and to win with this shirt.

"I have many goals which are to become even more of a legend at this club, to still improve myself personally, and to continue to have this passion inside that helps me in times of trouble.

"I have to keep improving and we have to continue on this path made of humility, and sacrifice with the desire to always improve.

"I am even more responsible after this great renewal but for me it is only an advantage and an incentive to give more every day, in every training session, and every game.

"In every game I give something extra for this shirt, which feels like my own shirt."

'I want to be a legend' - Bonucci reveals Juventus goals

The Italian defender feels added responsibility to perform, having

signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract at the Turin club.

http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/3276/serie-a/2016/12/19/30657692/-

Nov 19, 2016

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci wants to become "even more of a legend" at the club after signing a new deal.

Bonucci signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract on Monday, tying him to the Italian champions until 2021 – a one-season extension to his previous agreement.

The Italy international, 29, joined Juventus from Bari in 2010 and has won five Serie A titles as well as two Coppa Italia crowns in Turin.

Bonucci has made 291 appearances for Juve but still has the time and motivation to enhance his legacy.

"I am pleased and proud to continue our victorious, successful journey until 2021," Bonucci told the club's website. "I obviously have a lot of goals, clearly to become even more of a legend at this club, to improve personally and maintain the passion I have within me.

"That helps me when the going gets tough and really brings out my playing style. It shows I'm ready to improve at this moment in time because the best is yet to come.

"I'm at the peak of my powers and I'm up here to be shot at so it's up to me to withstand the pressure.

"Looking forward, I will have even more responsibility due to this great new deal but I just see that as an advantage and motivation on a daily basis, in every training session and match, to give that bit extra for this team which really feels like my club."

Bonucci feels part of a family with Juventus and cannot wait to return to action, having been out with a thigh injury since last month's defeat to Genoa.

"I feel an important part of one big family," he said when asked how it felt to be a Juve favourite.

"You achieve this by working hard and always being there for your team-mates, helping out when the going gets tough and celebrating all together in successful periods.

"We have won so much over the last few years and we know that going forward it will be harder than ever to get results. That said, life would be dull if you didn't have something great to fight for.

"Our aim is therefore to play to win every match and lift lots of trophies between now and 2021 and, who knows, perhaps even beyond.

"I would also like to thank my agent who worked so hard on this new deal. He is also proud that this Bonucci-Juventus partnership will go on. This love affair began six, nearly seven years ago. We are a lovely, happy family.

"I'm so keen to get back in action and be available for the coach and my team-mates, and to keep winning things for this club."

Juve face AC Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana in Doha on Friday.

Dec 19, 2016

Gianluigi Buffon describes centre-back Leonardo Bonucci’s Juventus renewal as “great news”.

The Italian international had been linked with Chelsea and Manchester City, but this morning it was officially announced that he has committed his future to the Bianconeri until 2021.

“It’s great news, because Leo had been on a path of exponential and continuous growth,” Buffon told Mediaset Premium.

“He’s a reference point for Juve and for us players, and the certainty that he’ll remain at Juventus for many more years is something very important and which will help all the fans sleep soundly at night.”

Bonucci almost quit after son's illness

The Juventus and Italy star has had to face up to his child dealing with a serious

medical condition and it made him consider his future in football.

Dec 27, 2016

Leonardo Bonucci has revealed he considered quitting football after his son Matteo was diagnosed with a serious medical condition.

Bonucci, who signed a new four-and-a-half-year deal this month, saw his world turned upside down when Matteo was taken ill shortly after the Juventus and Italy star returned from Euro 2016.

But Bonucci said things were now looking up for his son following a swift recovery from surgery.

"[It is] the end of the fear that lasted from July until a few days ago," Bonucci told La Repubblica. "For Matteo we now often repeat a mantra: you are our champion, you have won the most difficult game.

"He's started playing with his brother again, soon they will even be fighting!

"Finally it is going well, physically and psychologically."

Describing the series of events that left Bonucci facing up to the greatest challenge of his life, the 29-year-old revealed the anguish that made him give serious thought to retiring.

"He'd had a hernia treated, but we felt he wasn't the same boy anymore," he explained.

"A wonderful doctor at the Regina Margherita Hospital then detected a serious condition, and we had to intervene immediately, something had to be done the next day at eight AM. Matteo didn't come out until four in the afternoon.

"As he entered the operating theatre, Matteo roared like a lion at us, as if he wanted to make us feel braver, not himself.

"I sat in a corner and had a chat with God: 'your will be done, I told him, but please remember that he's only a kid'.

"In those weeks I considered quitting football, I just couldn't think about work, I had really put it to one side.

"Matteo was back home on August 10, 13 days after surgery - a record recovery."

Bonucci: ‘City? My heart said Juventus’

http://www.football-italia.net/97686/bonucci-‘city-my-heart-said-juventus’

Jan 30, 2017

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci admits it was “hard to say no” to Manchester City, but “my heart prevailed”.

The centre-back is much admired by City manager Pep Guardiola, and the English side tried hard to bring him to the Premier League in the summer.

Having been awarded the Player of the Year prize at the Gran Gala del Calcio, the Italian international explained his love for the Bianconeri was the reason he stayed.

“There’s so much Juventus in me, it’s a matter of heart and skin,” Bonucci explained to Sky.

“Every time I wear the shirt it gives me this incredible energy. I hope I can be important for Juventus, as Juventus is for me.

“Man City? It wasn’t a decision taken lightly. When you see one of the top Coaches in the world show so much respect and appreciation for you it’s hard to say no. My heart prevailed.

“But I’m playing for one of the biggest teams in Italy and the world, and we can win in Italy and Europe.

“In Serie A we must never drop our concentration, while we must change our attitude in Europe. With this new formation we can go very far.”

Given his devotion to Juve, was Bonucci angered by Paulo Dybala’s angry reaction to being substituted on Sunday?

“Paulo realised that he showed a lack of respect to the Coach and the entire squad. We’re one group, and in these situations we have to prove it.

“Paulo apologised and understood the lesson. Dybala is crucial for us.”

Bonucci: It was hard saying no to Barcelona & Manchester City

The defender says he found it difficult turning down approaches from

both clubs but feels he made the right decision to stay in Turin.

http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892/transfer-zone/2017/01/31/32162742/-

Jan 31, 2017

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci claims he found it difficult to turn down close-season moves to Barcelona and Manchester City – hailing Pep Guardiola as the best coach in the world.

Guardiola took charge at City last July, having expressed his admiration for Bonucci after his Bayern Munich side tangled with Juve in last season's Champions League.

City chief executive Ferran Soriano stated Bonucci contacted the Premier League club to sound out their thoughts over a potential move, although Juventus were not keen to sell.

Bonucci signed a new contract that runs to 2021 in Turin last month and he has his sights on adding European success to Juventus' domestic domination, although he told Corriere dello Sport he also had his head turned by Barcelona.

"Saying no to Barcelona and Manchester City was not easy," he said. "How could it be if wanting you was the best coach in the world.

"I made the decision pondering everything. It was not a choice I took lightly because Interest came from Guardiola, who is the best there is.

"But now I am happy to be at Juventus and I want to win in Italy and begin to do so in Europe.

"In Serie A we must never take anything for granted. In Europe we need a decisive attitude and with this form and [head coach Massimiliano] Allegri I'm sure we can go all the way."

Bonucci also addressed the furore surrounding Juve forward Paulo Dybala refusing to shake Allegri's hand when he was substituted during Sunday's 2-0 win at Sassuolo.

Dybala has four goals in six appearances since the turn of the year, having initially struggled for last season's prolific form this time around.

"Paulo realised that he had been disrespectful to the whole team and to the club rather than to Allegri," Bonucci added.

"He apologised and we have forgiven him because he is young. He wanted to give more in the game against Sassuolo.

"That is why he reacted that way. Dybala is crucial for us."

Bonucci: 'Juve believed with Barcelona'

http://www.football-italia.net/98184/bonucci-juve-believed-barcelona

Feb 10, 2017

Leonardo Bonucci admits he “really thought Juventus were going to win” the 2015 Champions League Final with Barcelona.

The Bianconeri defender sat down with UEFA.com to discuss the 3-1 defeat.

“I will never forget the date, June 6, as we reached the Final so fired up,” said Bonucci.

“We proved that we could fight it out with Barcelona on the field, but perhaps at the very moment we really thought Juventus were going to win, that’s when we lost it.

“After the equaliser we pushed so hard for the winner that we allowed those spaces at the back, which we hadn’t done until then.

“Barcelona had found their goal on our positional error, but hadn’t really created very much after that, despite having a galactic selection of strikers.

“We had done really well in defence, then once we believed that we could go on and win it, we left spaces and you cannot do that against players like Leo Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.

“It’s a shame, but that defeat taught us to remain concentrated at all times and never take anything for granted.”

Bonucci not only had to mark Messi in the Champions League Final, but also helped Juve defeat Cristiano Ronaldo’s Real Madrid in the semi-final that year.

“They are two world class players, each in their own way. Messi has more natural talent, he’s supernatural, while Ronaldo constructed himself more.

“They are two phenomenons and playing against them was truly stimulating, because you are forced to give 110 per cent. 100 per cent is not enough.

“It is always exciting for me to be up against certain champions, because… I don’t even know why, but at moments and in some games something within you bursts out, something you don’t get in a normal game.

“Perhaps that is what I must improve on this year and until the end of my career – giving that 110 per cent in every game.”

Allegri: 'Bonucci has much to learn'

http://www.football-italia.net/98540/allegri-bonucci-has-much-learn

Feb 18, 2017

There was again tension between Max Allegri and his Juventus squad last night, as Leonardo Bonucci reacted angrily to the Coach.

The incident occurred towards the end and after the final whistle of their 4-1 home victory over Palermo in the top flight.

Bonucci was seemingly very angry at Allegri and they exchanged insults complete with swearwords.

Allegri told his defender to "shut up you..." and at the final whistle Bonucci told his Coach to "go to..."

What truly surprised many was that Bonucci ran off into the locker room straight after the final whistle, without participating in the traditional salute to the fans.

It comes after Paulo Dybala yanked his arm away to avoid shaking hands with the Coach on the touchline following a substitution earlier this month.

Stephan Lichtsteiner also appeared to be irritated when replaced during another game.

“These things happen,” shrugged the Coach.

“I had three players who needed to be substituted because they had cramp. There was a misunderstanding, but it’s no issue, these things happen.

“Is Bonucci already studying to be a Coach? It may well something he does in future, even if he still has do much to learn.”

There are now reports Bonucci will be fined for the outburst.

Bonucci fined by Juventus

Feb 20, 2017

Leonardo Bonucci has reportedly been fined by Juventus for his outburst against Massimiliano Allegri.

The centre-back was seen arguing with the Coach during the 4-1 win over Palermo, though Allegri played it down in his post-match Press conference.

Despite this, Tuttosport believes the Bianconeri have taken swift action against the defender, fining him for his actions.

The newspaper reports that there are no problems between Bonucci and Allegri after the incident, with attention now turned to Wednesday’s Porto game.

In addition, today will be a decisive day for the fitness of Giorgio Chiellini and Andrea Barzagli.

The pair have been struggling with injury, but are working to be fit for the first leg of the Champions League Last 16 clash.

Real Madrid and Chelsea seek Bonucci

http://www.football-italia.net/99015/real-madrid-and-chelsea-seek-bonucci

Feb 28, 2017

Both Real Madrid and Chelsea are reportedly preparing huge summer offers for Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci.

The centre-back had already been at the centre of a bidding war between Chelsea and Manchester City, reaching a rumoured €50m.

Bonucci’s problems with Coach Max Allegri – which saw him sent to the stands as punishment for the Champions League Round of 16 clash with Porto – may well have changed the dynamics.

He had been determined to remain in Turin, but at this point could consider an exit if the offer was right.

According to Mundo Deportivo and As, Real Madrid see Bonucci as the ideal replacement for Pepe.

Meanwhile, The Sun insists Chelsea will make another stab at getting the Italy international for Antonio Conte.

The offers on the table are in the region of €60m and Juve could well give them some serious thought.

The Bianconeri have already secured their defence for the future, buying Daniele Rugani and Atalanta’s Mattia Caldara.

While Caldara is on loan with Atalanta until June 2018, his impressive form could prompt a quicker than expected call to Turin.

Paratici: 'All about what Bonucci wants'

http://www.football-italia.net/99124/paratici-all-about-what-bonucci-wants

Mar 2, 2017

Juventus director Fabio Paratici discussed Leonardo Bonucci’s future and Premier League offers. “What the player wants is what really counts.”

The defender turns 30 in May and was the subject of a massive bidding war between Manchester City and Antonio Conte’s Chelsea.

That could well be revived over the summer following his touchline row with Coach Max Allegri and consequent punishment, sent to the stands for the Champions League trip to Porto.

“We signed Bonucci when he was young, but by now he has moved on to the level of the most experienced players,” said Paratici at a charity event this evening.

“He was like Roberto Gagliardini, Andrea Petagna and Andrea Belotti, but has now played over 300 games for Juve.”

Paratici was asked about Bonucci’s future and the many phone calls he must’ve received from other clubs.

“Aside from the phone calls, what the player wants is what really counts.”

Bonucci: 'Face to face with Allegri'

http://www.football-italia.net/99127/bonucci-face-face-allegri

Mar 2, 2017

Leonardo Bonucci said he “cleared the air, face to face” with Max Allegri and will pay for a team dinner, but “Juventus decide my future.”

The defender was at a charity event this evening and was asked about the now infamous touchline row with his Coach, which saw him then sent to the stands for the Champions League trip to Porto.

“We cleared the air, face to face, with Allegri,” said Bonucci.

“I will pay for dinner with the entire team next week due to what happened with Allegri. After that clarification, things are even better than they were before.

“You need to take the positives from anything negative that happens and it further cemented the group together.

“The morning after was worse than the night before. As far as I was concerned, it ended there and the Coach felt the same way, but then there’s a group that needs to be taken into account and a Coach who decides for the good of the group.”

Both the Italy international and Allegri have been linked with a future in the Premier League.

“I don’t know if the Coach will go to the Premier League, but I am owned by the club until 2021 and the club decides whether to sell me or not. I hope to honour the contract.”

At the same event this evening, Juventus director Fabio Paratici commented “what the player wants is what really counts.”

Chelsea and Manchester City were in a bidding war for Bonucci over the summer and are expected to try again at the end of the current campaign.

Leonardo Bonucci was learning English
but now wants Juventus stay

Mar 6, 2017

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci has said he was learning English last year but now plans to see out the next four years of his contract with the Italian champions.

Bonucci, who has been linked with Manchester City and Chelsea over recent months, was involved in a row with coach Massimiliano Allegri in February that sparked fresh rumours over his future.

However, after scoring the equaliser in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Udinese, the Italy international told Mediaset television: "I am part of this club's heritage and I signed a contract here until 2021.

"I'm here and I feel important for this club and I don't see where the problem is. If I had wanted to leave, I would have pushed to leave last year when I received offers. I had even started studying English."

Bonucci, who joined Juve from Bari in 2010, added: "I play, score and fight for Juventus, who are a great club."

Manchester City CEO Ferran Soriano said in October that Bonucci had made contact over a move as he wanted to play under Pep Guardiola, but Juve refused to sell.

Barcelona monitoring Bonucci?

http://www.football-italia.net/99286/barcelona-monitoring-bonucci

Mar 6, 2017

Reports in Spain suggest that Barcelona are the latest top side to show interest in Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci.

Speculation linking the Italian international with Manchester City and Chelsea has been circulating since last summer, with the player admitting he had been learning English before signing a new contract with the Bianconeri.

Since then, the 29-year-old was suspended by the club for the Champions League match with Porto after a public spat with Coach Massimiliano Allegri, leading to these rumours being reignited.

According to fichajes.com, Barcelona have also been keeping a close eye on the situation with the Viterbo native, with the aforementioned Premier League clubs still interested.

Bonucci has repeatedly stated his desire to remain with the Bianconeri however, and such a move would require a hefty transfer fee, with the defender under contract until 2021.

Mrs. Bonucci: 'We considered City'

http://www.football-italia.net/99372/mrs-bonucci-we-considered-city

Mar 8, 2017

Martina Maccari, wife of Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci revealed that 'they considered the offer from Manchester City'.

After discussing the infamous argument with Coach Max Allegri and the Torino allegiance of their son Lorenzo, she also went on to reveal one of the Italian international's vices.

"Leonardo is greedy, he can’t resist Tiramisu!" Martina told Tuttosport.

"But he gets rid of it the next day when he runs."

What is home life like in the Bonucci household?

"I made them discover the beauty of communication: at first there was a wall of silence. At home he’s often on the couch, playing with the kids.

"He’s a great father. His argument with Allegri? I was sorry to see him in the stands, sitting on a stool, because I know how keen he is to play.

"The important thing, as both have said, is that things have returned to normal. Leonardo is very calm.

"Manchester City? Obviously we talked about it between us. The ' go or not go' discussion lasted a day, unfortunately after that we had much more serious thoughts than [Pep] Guardiola.

"Matteo was sick, it changed our lives.

"My son Lorenzo supports Toro? Yes, his loyalty comes from his best friend at nursery.

"The first time he said ‘Forza Toro’ at home we turned around in amazement.

"Me and Leonardo told him to feel free to cheer for whoever he wants. Lorenzo's idol is [Andrea] Belotti. Just before Christmas we met him in the centre of Turin and he was so excited."

Bonucci: ‘Bring on Barcelona!’

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci is keen to face Barcelona in the Champions League Quarter-Finals - “it’d be a big motivation”.

The Bianconeri were defeated by the Catalan outfit in the 2015 final, and the centre-back is keen to get revenge.

“I think it’s fair to say this [reaching the last eight] is the intermediate objective for a team like Juve,” Bonucci told Sky.

“We’ve reached the top eight in Europe, and now it’s up to us to improve again. What excites me most is Barcelona, they pulled off a great comeback and it’d be a big motivation to meet the team which beat us in the final two years ago.

“After the PSG [Paris Saint-Germain] game they’re the team in the best form.

“If I had to pick a team to avoid I’d say Bayern [Munich]. They’re a complete team, with [Carlo] Ancelotti they’ve found a new way to play but they’re always winners.

“They’re a difficult team, anything can happen in a one-off game but across two it’s more complicated.”
