Feb 1, 2011 Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio has stated that the squad must stick together and stay focused in order to pull themselves out of their current slump. The Bianconeri have been sub-par in January, suffering back-to-back defeats to Parma and Napoli in the league and crashing out of the Coppa Italia. On Sunday Juve lost 2-1 to Udinese and are now outside the top six. The Old Lady have relinquished all hopes of a Scudetto but Marchisio believes that they must regain their confidence and start February on a positive note. Mar 11, 2011 Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio has revealed the Bianconeri must put their recent results behind them and focus on defeating Cesena this weeekend. The 25-year-old Italian international says that if the side plays like they were during the start of the campaign, they can get a positive result and end their three-game losing streak. "It is not a good time for us," the midfielder told Juventus Channel. "Everyone knows this. "At the moment, we must not look too far behind or too far ahead, only focusing on the present, which is the match against Cesena on Saturday. If we play like we know how to, we will win. "We must walk onto the pitch without any fear of conceding an early goal, knowing we can overcome this setback." Marchisio believes only one victory is required to get the Old Lady back on track. "I think that a win could unblock us," he continued. "After Cagliari, I thought that we had done this, but then we fell back in. "We need continuity in our results. During the week, the players work hard only wanting to do well." Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Mar 31, 2011 Italy international Claudio Marchisio could be on his way out of struggling Serie A giants Juventus at the end of the season as the midfielder is unhappy with the progress of contract talks between the two parties, Tuttosport reports. The 25-year-old midfielder signed a contract extension until the summer of 2014 two years ago, but Marchisio's status with the Bianconeri has since changed. Marchisio was still a relatively inexperienced player when he signed his current deal, but he has since become an integral part of Italy's national squad and wants to be rewarded for his development. Juventus have acknowledged that Marchisio's new status should earn him a pay rise, but they're reluctant to meet the midfielder's demands and the two parties are still far away from reaching an agreement. Therefore, Marchisio is starting to look around and the former Empoli star could very well opt to leave La Vecchia Signora if they don't meet his wishes. Juve are eight points behind Lazio who are in fourth place, but despite Sunday's 0-0 draw against Fiorentina which appeared to have dented the Old Lady's Champions League hopes, the 25-year-old midfielder strongly believes they are not out of the race just yet. "We have five games to win," he told the press. "We said it before the game [against Fiorentina] and we have to say it again now. We must win all of our remaining matches, only in this way can we say we did our job." The result at the Artemio Franchi did nothing to make Juve any less sensitive to criticism, but Marchisio, who has scored four goals in 29 games remains positive. "We are disappointed by the result in Florence, but we have to think that we have earned good points from the last few games. Now we play Catania, it will not be easy," he said. "We have to give everything because every point is a good one." Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

May 3, 2011 Claudio Marchisio believes Juventus can win the race for the last Champions League spot in Serie A. Marchisio hopes the late victory over Lazio on Monday night will be the springboard that will propel his side into the top-four as they are now four points behind the capital city club with three games remaining. "Maybe we did not even think we could have returned to being back in the race for a place in the Champions League," he told Tuttosport. "Now we are, and we are favoured by our head to head records in case we arrive with equal points at the end. "Our objective now must be to win all our games and then we will see what happens in the end." Lazio felt Sergio Floccari should have been given a penalty following a challenge by Giorgio Chiellini. Marchisio agrees it was a valid claim, but said Juve had one denied too. "I must say the penalty on Floccari should have been given, but the referee also went against us on a penalty call. Therefore it's equal," he said. Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Jul 3, 2011 Italy international Claudio Marchisio could be set for a Juventus exit this summer as AC Milan have joined Roma in the race for the midfielder's signature, La giornalaccio rosa dello Sport reports. The reigning Italian champions are eager to add some fresh impetus to their midfield in the summer transfer window because of the departure of Andrea Pirlo to Juventus, and they see the 25-year-old as a valuable addition to their squad. Marchisio has also attracted the interest of Roma, as the Stadio Olimpico side are hopeful that Juve will include the highly-rated creator in the proposed deal that would see striker Mirko Vucinic move to Turin. Marchisio signed a new contract until 2016 with Juventus back in May, but his future at the club is in doubt following the arrival of new head coach Antonio Conte. The tactician reportedly prefers the likes of Pirlo and Felipe Melo, while Conte has also asked general director Giuseppe Marotta to make a move for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Arturo Vidal, thus further reducing Marchisio's chances of getting regular playing time. Jul 27, 2011 Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio has expressed his satisfaction with head coach Antonio Conte's decision to play him in central midfield again, rather than field him as a left-winger. Marchisio was deployed on the left in the recent friendly game against Sporting Lisbon, but played alongside Andrea Pirlo in the centre of the pitch in Tuesday's 1-0 friendly win over America. "I'm a centre midfielder and not a winger. I have never had any doubts about this. The coach has now told me that he sees me like that too and I'm very pleased with his comments," Marchisio was quoted as saying on the club's official website. The 25-year-old then discussed his side's friendly victory and stated his delight with Juventus' performance, as winger Cristian Pasquato netted the only goal of the contest. He added: "The coach doesn't want us to lose possession and just hit the ball forward. We have to rely on each other and should use the goalkeeper whenever necessary. That's exactly what we did. We were not afraid to take a bit of risk and quickly moved the ball around. This progress is important for the future." Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti
Socrates 8335 Joined: 04-Apr-2006 133189 messaggi Inviato July 31, 2011 Claudio Marchisio inundated with pleas from fans to remain with Juventus The 25-year-old midfielder is the subject of transfer speculation but the Juve faithful do not want the Italy international to leave the Turin club. Jul 30, 2011 Juventus supporters have been pleading for Claudio Marchisio to remain with the club beyond this summer's transfer window. The Turin native rose through the youth ranks at the Serie A outfit and has been a first team player since 2006. With the arrival of Andrea Pirlo over the summer on a free transfer, however, Marchisio's future is far from certain. Reports emanating from Italy today claim that Juventus might be enticed into a deal by exchanging him for Roma's Mirko Vucinic. But that deal does not please the Juventus faithful as they left thousands and thousands of messages on the club's official Facebook page pleading for him to stay. Many fans on it call him a ''Future captain'', as they express their disgust at the club contemplating any deal at all for Marchisio. ''Do not touch Marchisio! I prefer him a thousand times over Vucinic! Marchisio forever - black and white," one supporter wrote on the page. Roma and AC Milan are the two clubs which are most strongly linked with a move for the Italian midfielder; but with a contract signed with Juventus until 2016, it would take a lot of money for him to be leaving Juventus. Aug 7, 2011 Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio has voiced his belief that the Turin giants are on the right track with matchday one of the 2011-12 Serie A campaign only three weeks away. The Turin side have recorded some mixed results during pre-season so far, but Marchisio is quite pleased with the progress they've made. "In this period, we're all working hard to integrate the ideas of the coach. We're improving day after day, we're on the right track. But we know that there's still much to do before the beginning of the championship," the midfielder said to the Juventus website. The Italy international then went on to clarify that central midfield is his natural position and that he'd rather not play on the left wing. Marchisio has been used as a winger more than once during pre-season, but prefers a central role. "The press puts me in so many roles, but I'm really a central midfielder. I've shown it time and time again and I'll continue to prove it, although I can also play on the wing in an emergency situation." Three of the five selections were taken from the opening Serie A weekend, as Juventus fans came out in force to support Marchisio's effort. Sep 18, 2011 ANALYSIS Juventus' sprightly pre-season and dazzling opening day win over Parma have seen many raise an eyebrow and wonder aloud whether they might be about to take the step back up to Champions League contention in 2011-12. One of the key points that observers are pointing to when putting forward the theory is the new-found competition for places at Vinovo. No more is that the case than in central midfield, where coach Antonio Conte now finds himself having to choose between Claudio Marchisio and Arturo Vidal for one spot alongside Andrea Pirlo in the boss' favoured 4-2-4 formation. While the youth product has been a first team squad member since 2006, he has thus far failed to cement himself as a regular in the centre - often being shifted to the left.
