Juventus director Roberto Bettega has quashed the persistent rumours surrounding Gianluigi Buffon, saying that the goalkeeper will stay with the Turin outfit.

Buffon has been linked with a move away from the Bianconeri this summer, but Bettega has labelled the Italy shot-stopper as "untouchable", dismissing earlier reports that the 32-year-old was gearing up to leave the Old Lady.

"In regards to what was written about Buffon and his possible sale, I want to reassure the fans that Gigi is untouchable. He will remain at Juventus," the director affirmed.

Bettega is also confident that the Bianconeri can shake off their recent woes and put together a positive performance against Napoli on Thursday night.

"I am confident that the team will quickly return to showing what they can do, and what they did only recently. All the players will be ready and focused on Thursday's match," he said.

Gianluigi Buffon's agent Silvano Martina is standing firmly alongside Juventus against all the reports which have linked the Italian with an exit.

Newswires around the peninsula on Tuesday suggested the club were ready to cash in on Buffon and redesign the squad. Juventus denied the claims soon after when director Roberto Bettega said "Buffon is untouchable".

And Martina is standing side by side with the club as he speaks out on the player's behalf.

"I am with Juventus. For once and for all, Buffon is staying at Juventus," the agent told Tuttomercatoweb.com.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Bayern Munich were all linked with the Italian goalkeeper. But Martina has rubbished the whispers.

"These are all rumours without foundation, especially when they say he wants to leave the club," he added.

"He is happy at Juventus and has no intention to leave. I think Juventus have also said he is not for sale."

Gianluigi Buffon has said his future at Juventus does not depend on where the club finishes this season as new questions are raised as to whether he will stay.

Buffon was visibly annoyed after Juventus fell to their 13th loss of the season by going down 2-0 to Inter on Friday night.

It's a result that has thrown Champions League football into doubt, but the goalkeeper insists results will not influence a decision on his future amid reports claiming an interest from elsewhere.

"The fact that I stay or go does not depend on where the team finishes," he told Tuttosport.

"20 days ago the club released a statement and that's where my future is written. We should stop reading in between the lines."

Gianluigi Buffon's agent Silvano Martina has given the strongest hint yet that the Juventus goalkeeper will be at the club next season.

On the day Juventus' Champions League hopes ended, Buffon appeared uncertain over his future, claiming he had "two more games left at Juve".

Questions were immediately raised as to whether Buffon would be staying amid reported interest from both Manchester City and Manchester United.

But Martina has said the Italian international will see out his deal in Turin.

"There is nothing new, apart from the fact that Buffon has three years left on his contract, and so I cannot see why he should leave," Martina told Tuttomercatoweb.com.

"I never hear about Francesco Totti leaving Roma or Diego Milito leaving Inter, so why should Buffon go?

"Anything can happen in life, but for now Buffon is a Juventus player and he is tied to the club for the next three years."

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon says that he may not have any intention of leaving the Bianconeri at the end of the season, but should the 32-year-old leave, he would like to play in the English Premier League.

Buffon has another three years left on his current contract, but earlier hinted that he is a Juventus player "for two more games, then we'll see".

"My will to leave Juve is the same as their will to let me go," the Italian international said to La giornalaccio rosa Dello Sport. "At the moment, there is no offers, but anything can happen in the next two weeks.

"Should I leave Juventus, I think that a move to England would be my next destination."

Superman also says that it is the entire team's fault that the Bianconeri season has not gone to plan.

"Not everything needs to be redone. There were many good things, and plenty of good players to keep," he stated. "But there are some things that need to be relooked at, otherwise we risk going through several seasons with the same problem.

"Everyone is to blame - including the player - as we have gotten things wrong as well. At the start of the season, we believed that we were a good side, but 4-5 good results does not make you a champion team."

The shot-stopper also knows the difficulty the national team will face in South Africa.

"The team knows how hard it is to win a World Cup, but to defend it is even harder. But if we present ourselves as being ready to play and in good physical condition, we will be tough.

"Even if we are at 95 per cent, we should be able to get a positive result," concluded the 'keeper.

Juventus will use Gianluigi Buffon and Felipe Melo to entice Arsenal into a mega move that will see Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie head the other way, reports Tuttosport.

Buffon is wanted in the Premier League with Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City all vying for his signature. It's no secret that the Gunners are keen on Brazilian midfielder Melo, and this could pave the way for a super swap.

Buffon and Melo to Arsenal, with Fabregas and Van Persie, or Bacary Sagna to Juventus is the plan being floated in Turin.

The Old Lady are among a host of clubs keen on Fabregas, but their failure to qualify for the Champions League is unlikely to tempt the player.

Furthermore, he has always pledged allegiance to Arsenal, and the club have always maintained he is a key player who is unlikely to leave.

Chelsea and Manchester United are also said to be on standby. Buffon worked alongside Carlo Ancelotti at Parma, and he could be used in a deal that would see Branislav Ivanovic move to Juve.

Gianluigi Buffon has been tipped to leave Juventus and join Premier League side Arsenal, according to Sky Sport 24.

After nine years with the Old Lady, Buffon is set to pack his bags and head for the north London club.

A dreadful league season, no Champions League, three managerial changes, three presidential changes and a worse goals against record than relegated Atalanta have got the alarm bells ringing for the Italian international.

Two weeks ago Buffon said his intention was to remain in Turin, but that he wouldn't mind moving to England should the club decide to part company with him.

And it's in the Premier League where he has the biggest following. Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal are all keen.

United are looking for an alternative to Edwin van der Sar, while City are relying on their millions to attract Buffon.

But he recently said they were not considered a big enough club, and their failure to qualify for the Champions League has also put a downer on any move.

Thus it's Arsenal who remain in pole position. It's no secret they need a goalkeeper, and Buffon's experience fits the bill for Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal have apparently all but reached an agreement to sign Juventus keeper Gianluigi Buffon according to Italian daily Tuttosport.

The 32-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time and if these reports are to believed, his next destination will be the Emirates Stadium.

Former Juventus goalkeeper Stefano Tacconi has commented on the club's current situation, after a disappointing seventh place finish this season has forced the Bianconeri to rebuild.

On Saturday, the goalkeeper took part in an event organised by Yahoo! in the Piazza Castello in Milan and he also spoke to Goal.com about a number of topics including the future of Gianluigi Buffon and the start of Andrea Agnelli's reign at the club.

So Stefano, what will happen with Buffon?

"It depends on him at this point. We must see if he has the desire to remain at Juventus. I think he has demonstrated his commitment to the club, even going to Serie B, but everyone has their goals and ambitions. Juve must rebuild and will not play in the Champions league for a little while, so I don't know if he's content to stay."

If the club decides to sell for cash, would they use the money to purchase another great goalkeeper and more players?

"Well, if he leaves, Juventus will buy another goalkeeper. Indeed, from what I know, the club have already bought him. I think they have bought Cagliari goalkeeper Federico Marchetti with the intention of moving him to another team so he can get to his real objective. Marchetti should go to Fiorentina."

How would you rate the first day of the Agnelli leadership?

"It wouldn't be normal if things were simplistic, but the arrival of Marotta is already a good sign for the fans. He's a great director and I think he'll do very well."

"I play for fun and I have my team which plays for charity, but in other games I play as a striker, because in goal I get bored."

Then can you give us your opinion on some of the Bianconeri's objectives? What about Giampaolo Pazzini? Would he like to join Juventus?

"When players like Pazzini, Palombo, or Pastore of Palermo are for sale they are...beautiful pieces that can make up a mosaic, but beyond that who knows."
