May 21, 2011 Gianluigi Buffon's agent Silvano Martina has reiterated that his client will not be moving to Roma in the summer and has indicated that the goalkeeper's future is at Juventus. With the Bianconeri missing out on the Champions League and American businessman Thomas DiBenedetto taking control at Roma, a move to the capital for the 33-year-old had been rumoured in the press. It is widely known that Martina is a personal friend of Walter Sabatini, Roma's new sporting director, and the pair have been sighted together recently, adding fuel to the transfer speculation. "I am a friend of Sabatini, we have travelled together, but the rumours are absolutely false. In terms of Gigi to Roma we had no contact," the player's representative told Romanews. The former Parma stopper has played for the Turin club since 2001, and has picked up the Serie A goalkeeper of the year award a record eight times. A new man between the sticks is reportedly on the Roman club's wishlist, as both Doni and Julio Cesar have shown inconsistency this season. May 28, 2011 Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has indicated that he will remain at the Turin giants next season, despite media speculation of a move for the Italian international. Buffon's future has come under scrutiny following a poor season which left the Old Lady without European football. The 33-year-old has been linked with Roma, and while his agent Silvano Martina said he was happy at Juventus on Friday, he added that a great offer would be hard to refuse. However, the shot-stopper has looked to set the record straight, by noting that he remains tied to the club. "Will I leave? The same things are always being said, but I have a contract with Juventus," he told the press. Buffon's current agreement at the club he joined from Parma in 2001 runs until the summer of 2013. Jul 6, 2011 Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has voiced his belief that Atletico Madrid attacker Sergio Aguero's high wages won't cause fraction in the Turin side's squad if the Argentina international moves to the Turin-based side this summer. The 23-year-old forward is Juventus' primary target in the summer transfer window and the Serie A side seem determined to lure Aguero to Turin ahead of the 2011-12 campaign. "The numbers are dictated by the times and depend on the form of the player and the team. I have never been jealous of what my team-mates earn and regardless of everything, if someone earns a certain amount then there is always a reason behind it," Buffon said to Tuttosport. "I don't have a preference between Aguero or Giuseppe Rossi. The most important thing is that someone really wants to play for Juventus and wants the best for the team. They will become part of the group of players who decide the fate of this club next season. Juventus should never be a stepping stone or a second choice." Aguero's representatives have already revealed that the Argentina international, who is currently playing at the Copa America, is interested in a move to Juventus, but his hefty price tag could prove to be an obstacle for an Italian side. Aug 24, 2011 Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon says he is confident the club can return to the top of the Italian game by mounting a serious Scudetto challenge. The Turin-based club head into the new campaign with hope, rather than expectation, having finished only seventh in Serie A in the last two seasons. Juventus have signed the likes of Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal in order to improve their fortunes, and though Buffon reckons a big challenge lies ahead, he added that the fans fully support the squad. "Along with this enthusiasm there is a great responsibility, because we know we have to start almost from scratch and we know that Juventus' history calls for an immediate rebirth. We have to challenge from start to finish," Buffon told the Corriere dello Sport. "There is so much enthusiasm, after two bad years from Juve it is normal that the desire for revenge is so intense. "Juventus are ready and the fans are fond of this squad. Any fan would be a little dissatisfied after these two years, but instead there was not one day in which the training camp was not filled with people." The 33-year-old custodian added that he hopes to put his fitness problems behind him after being afflicted by injuries in the last couple of seasons. "I expect to play continously. In the last few years I have not been able to train and play in a continuous manner. After I was operated on, I have never got an injury again, which is a good sign. "I feel fine and I think I have proved it in training. I hope to play at least 35 of the 38 [serie A] games: I will skip the last matches because we will already have won the title by then!" Buffon said with a smile. Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

The midfield maestro has been singled out for praise by club stalwart Gianluigi Buffon, who believes his side has benefited immensely from the discarded AC Milan player. In an interview with Radio Monte Carlo, the veteran goalkeeper expressed his joy at the 32-year-old's arrival. "When Andrea told me that he would come to Juve, the first thing that I said was 'Thank God!' "I think that a player of his level and merit, who came for nearly nothing, has been the deal of the century," argued Buffon. "And yesterday when I saw him play I thought to myself, 'God exists because his football cleverness is truly embarrassing.' "This summer when I saw [Milan CEO Adriano] Galliani I thanked him and said, 'Thank you because you truly tried to make the league more balanced,'" cheekily stated Italy's number one. Oct 5, 2011 Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has stressed that the Turin side will have to keep up their current form if they are to be successful this season. They recorded a 2-0 Serie A win over AC Milan at Juventus Stadium last Sunday and currently sit top of the table. But Buffon has voiced his opinion that that victory will prove worthless if their performances drop later in the 2011-12 campaign. "Juventus have not yet peaked. We played a great game against Milan, but at the end, what's left? Only three points, plus an injection of confidence," Buffon was quoted as saying by Tuttosport. "If we do not play well, we are just a good team without making the leap. "The injured will recover," Buffon added, referring to the relatively poor starts made by Milan and Inter while making it clear that Juventus must maintain their level of play. Buffon is currently preparing to face Serbia and Northern Ireland in Italy's final two Euro 2012 qualifiers. Juventus have a two-week break from Serie A fixtures. Oct 11, 2011 Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has hit out at Pescara's Zdenek Zeman and stressed that he would never work under the Czech coach. The well-travelled 64-year-old has been involved in a long-standing feud with the 27-time Scudetto winners since making allegations of doping, which were later found to be false by the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Zeman accused the Turin giants of using performance-enhancing substances during his spell in charge at Roma from 1997 until 1999, and Buffon has not forgotten those comments.
