Khephren Thuram beats his brother Marcus for goals scored in 2025 Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram has scored more goals than his brother Marcus, an Inter striker, since the start of the year. Khephren Thuram contributed to Juventus’ 2-0 win over Hellas Verona on Monday night with his second consecutive goal across all competitions. ............ The Juventus midfielder has scored two goals in 2025, one more than his brother Marcus. ............ The stat is quite worrying for Inter, given that Marcus Thuram plays as a centre-forward and is the Nerazzurri’s best Serie A scorer this season. ............ His brother Khephren has four goals and four assists in 37 matches with Juventus. Khephren dedicated his goal to Marcus last night, saying his brother is his idol. . The signs of growth that Juventus showed in last night’s win over Verona Juventus returned to winning ways in their match against Verona last night, and it was an indisputable victory. With the Bianconeri now only able to focus on winning the Scudetto, their schedule is far less hectic than it was just a month ago. Given this, they are expected to win almost every match from here on out. Juventus is confident that this will indeed happen, as their players are fully backing themselves to make the most of their chances during games now. There is a sense of belief within the squad that is crucial for the remainder of the season. ............ The Bianconeri showed signs of real growth in this match. The report claims that the Juventus players have not lost faith in their manager, which is a significant development. Additionally, it was evident that they have players who can make a real difference in attack, something that had been questioned earlier in the season. These two factors are incredibly important, especially at this stage, when Juventus needs heroes to emerge to maintain their winning momentum. This victory was crucial in the context of Juventus’s season. They needed to prove that they could perform under pressure and demonstrate that they were still capable of being the team that fans expect them to be. ............ It is hoped that this win is just the beginning of a strong run of results for Juventus, who now have the Scudetto in their sights. ............ . Juventus must not let the current bubble burst soon Juventus now has just one trophy left to play for this season, and that is the Scudetto. At the start of the campaign, the Bianconeri had aspirations of winning multiple titles, not including the Club World Cup, with many fans and pundits believing that this could be their year to shine under the management of Thiago Motta. The squad appeared to have the potential to challenge for several honours, and expectations were high as the season began. ............ As the season progresses, Juve has found its stride, hitting top form in recent weeks. This resurgence has seen them win several important games, including a remarkable run of victories in their last five matches. Their recent success has taken them closer to the top of the league table than most people expected, and this newfound momentum has reignited hopes that they can still claim the Scudetto. ............ Although the season began with a sense of uncertainty, Juventus now seem poised to end the campaign in far better shape than it began. Their current run of form has been impressive, but it is vital that the club protects this positive momentum and ensures that they remain focused on the task at hand. The team has been a joy to watch during this recent spell of good form, and they are enjoying a positive “bubble” of confidence. However, it is important for Juventus not to allow this bubble to burst prematurely. ............ To protect this positive run, Juve must stay disciplined and continue working hard as a unit. By respecting every opponent and maintaining their focus, they can continue to build on this momentum and give themselves the best chance to secure the Serie A title. ............ . Two stats to delight Juventus fans after beating Verona Juventus secured another victory against Verona last night, marking their fifth consecutive win in the league. This impressive run of form has made them one of the most closely watched teams in the competition, with both fans and neutrals beginning to believe they could mount a serious title challenge. Juve remains six points behind the league leaders, but with Napoli and Inter Milan struggling for consistency, the Old Lady could find themselves right back in the race and even go on to win the title. ............ Following their latest win, the club shared some interesting statistics on its official website, two of which stand out. The first is that their victory over Verona marks the first time they have won four consecutive home league games at the start of a calendar year since 2021. The second is that Juventus now have 14 clean sheets in the league this season, more than any other team across Europe’s top five leagues. These figures highlight the defensive solidity that has been crucial to their recent success. While supporters naturally want even more from the team, there is no denying that Juventus are performing better than some would have expected. ............ As the season progresses, the team will need all the support it can get. Juventus have shown they have the potential to push for the title, but maintaining this momentum will be key. ............ . Juventus reignite Scudetto dream with fifth straight Serie A win Juventus’ fifth consecutive Serie A victory has propelled them within six points of leaders Inter, and with the top four separated by a razor-thin margin, ruling the Bianconeri out of the Scudetto race would be premature. Thiago Motta’s side has capitalised on a month of slip-ups from Napoli, Inter, and Atalanta—teams initially seen as stronger title contenders. Once deemed outsiders merely chasing a Champions League spot, the Old Lady has forced their way back into the championship conversation. ............ Next weekend’s clash against Atalanta at the Allianz Stadium presents a golden opportunity, as a win would see the Bianconeri draw level on points with La Dea, further intensifying the battle at the top. ............ Yet, paradoxically, Juventus’ finest domestic run coincides with growing tension around Thiago Motta. Eliminations from both the Champions League and Coppa Italia have fueled speculation over his future, with reports even suggesting unrest within the squad, with an anonymous player allegedly stating he ‘can’t stand’ the coach. However, in the face of media scrutiny, Motta’s camp has pushed back. The father of his agent slammed the rumors, claiming an orchestrated effort is underway to ‘destroy’ the Bianconeri boss. . Juventus 2 - Hellas Verona 0: Initial reaction and random observations Considering all of the chatter, the protests and the whistles raining down from a certain section of the Allianz Stadium crowd ever since Juventus were ousted from the Coppa Italia last week, it was hard to predict what kind of state Thiago Motta’s squad was going to be in once they returned to the field Monday night. ............ This time around, Juve had to wait until the final 20 minutes to see the deadlock finally broken after recording shot ... after shot ... after shot against Hellas Verona. The shot total only went higher and higher as Juve couldn’t break through against Verona keeper Lorenzo Montipo trying to do his best Stefano Sorrentino imitation against Juventus. But unlike when he scored midweek, we could actually find solace in Khephren Thuram finding the back of the net, as the Frenchman’s strike proved to the difference in Juventus’ 2-0 win over Hellas Verona that moved Motta’s squad back into fourth place after Lazio’s victory over Milan 24 hours earlier. ............ With the win, Juventus are now just six points off the Serie A lead — something that wouldn’t have even been imaginable a couple of months ago while they were in the midst of draws and inconsistency galore. Now, it’s not like this fifth straight Serie A win means everything is cured because it very much is not. Just go look at what’s happened during the last two midweek fixtures this team has had as two very obvious examples of that. But, at least when it comes to Serie A competition, they’ve finally found consistent wins for the first time all season. It means that now, in the first week of March, Juventus can finally stake claim to as many league wins (13) as they have draws. It’s taken a while, but we’ve finally seen them get there. ............ Juve launched 13 shots toward the Hellas Verona goal in the first half. They launched another 14 shots in the second half. They dominated the possession from start to finish. It always had the feeling of just waiting for Juventus to finally get the moment in which they could take advantage of all the possession and scoring chances they had. Yet, for all the bad luck they had that came with their finishing and Montipo’s saves, a little bit of good luck came right before the half when VAR wiped away Tomas Suslov’s stoppage-time strike that stunned just about everybody not rooting for Hellas Verona. But that momentary scare, thankfully, didn’t derail the first-half momentum Juventus had even though they didn’t actually score. The command of the game only continued into second half, and again had you wondering when they would actually find the back of the net. Thuram, just as he did in Juve’s disastrous Coppa Italia elimination, was the man to save the day. Although this time it actually gave his team the lead rather than attempt to salvage something out of a very, very bad performance. Add in Teun Koopmeiners’ late goal just on the cusp of stoppage time and you have a scoreline that was very representative of how the game actually played out. Could Juventus have been better in front of goal? Of course — you don’t record that many shots and force that many saves only to be up 1-0 with 15 minutes to go. But, at the same time, Hellas Verona did next to nothing in the Juve defensive third of the field outside of the Suslov goal that wasn’t. Juventus needed a performance like this to try and put the ills of the Coppa Italia loss fully behind them. Take whatever you want out of the protests by the ultras both before and during Monday night’’s game, but Juve needed to shake what happened against Empoli to try and refocus on their push to secure a place in the top four. Lazio beat Milan and forced Juventus to answer — and they did. ............ RANDOM THOUGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS I honestly can’t remember the last time Juventus finished an entire game with over 70% possession, let alone a number more than 75%. When the eye test is very much confirmed by the stats because that was one-way traffic outside of a couple of minutes. ............ Finishing with 27 shots and having an xG of 1.85 seems a little bit disappointing. More encouraging: Khephren Thuram continuing to be awesome. He was one of the summer signings I was the most excited about, and Thuram has done nothing to really deter that preseason hope and excitement. He’s Juve’s best midfielder and he’s only getting better now that he’s starting to score goals. It also makes you wonder why — if there’s a reason other than physical and a subsequent minutes restriction — Thuram was not starting on a consistent basis the last couple of months. This Juventus team is so very clearly a more dangerous side with him in the lineup, and he now needs to be there these final 11 games of the season as long as he’s healthy. ............ Teun Koopmeiners heard plenty of whistles when he entered the field at the hour mark. Then he went and scored a goal, his first brilliant free kick against Cagliari in the Coppa Italia back in December. His teammates celebrated as such. Good for him. He’s had a tough season and has obviously not lived up to his price tag after his move from Atalanta, but he’s a genuinely good dude who deserves some good things to try and turn things around down the stretch. Juventus passes attempted in the final third in the first half: 78. Hellas Verona total number of passes attempted in the first half: 84. Credit where credit is due: Lloyd Kelly had a very good game and deserves to be complimented for it. ............ I’ve never been so happy to see Pierre Kalulu than I was when he came on for Gatti and showed that he’s ready to go for Atalanta this coming weekend. Andrea Cambiaso finished with exactly 100 touches. Love a nice and clean number like that. Cambiaso key passes against Hellas Verona: 4. Randal Kolo Muani key passes against Hellas Verona: 4. Hellas Verona key passes as a team: 4. Manuel Locatelli’s passing numbers were pretty solid overall, but there was more than just one or two occasions in which I thought to myself “Boy, he really is taking a long time to get rid of the ball” or was just a little too slow in combining with a teammate. ............ Trying to block a shot off the foot of Kenan Yildiz seems like impending pain. That young man goes for power ... and then even more power when he wants. When it comes to shoot, finesse is something that Yildiz doesn’t always go for. ............ Yildiz needs a goal. Nico Gonzalez needs a goal. These guys need some goals. I like when Thuram scores, but the forwards not named Kolo Muani do need some more goals. But Juventus won. They played a solid game and won. That’s better than we can say about the last time they played at the Allianz, so we’ll take it and move on to another home game this coming weekend.. Juventus Player Ratings vs Verona: Khephren Thuram Ends Montipo’s Resistance ............ Juventus (4-2-3-1) Michele Di Gregorio – 5.5 ............ Timothy Weah – 6 ............ Federico Gatti – 6.5 The Italy international looked composed at the back, although he didn’t have much to do. Darted forward repeatedly but couldn’t hit the target when provided with the opportunity. Lloyd Kelly – 6.5 The Englishman is growing familiar with his surroundings. These quiet days at the office certainly help his settling process. Andrea Cambiaso – 7.5 The Man City target was outstanding all over the pitch. Won his duel with Suslov and was a menacing presence on the left wing. Provided the assist for the opener, and could have grabbed a few more had his teammates been more prolific. Manuel Locatelli – 7 A commanding display from the Juventus captain who was more adventurous than usual, but just couldn’t find the back of the net. Orchestrated the play for his team and picked up Cambiaso on the ‘pre-assist’ for Thuram’s goal. Khephren Thuram – 8 A formidable display from the man of the hour in Turin. The Frenchman was dangerous from the get-go, but after losing out to Montipo on a couple of occasions, he managed to break the deadlock with a clinical shot. Kenan Yildiz – 6.5 An impactful display from the Turkish teenager who connected well with his teammates, but just lacked the final touch. Weston McKennie – 6 ............ Nicolas Gonzalez – 6 ............ Randal Kolo Muani – 6 The Frenchman made himself available for his teammates and did well to hold up the play, but he could have done more with the couple of chances that came his way. Substitutes Teun Koopmeiners – 6 It was a listless cameo from Dutchman until he sealed the win by scoring the second with a shot that one would have expected Montipo to save. Alberto Costa – 6.5 An impressive outing from the January signing who won back possession on the ball that directly led to the second Juventus goal. Pierre Kalulu – 6 ............ Samuel Mbangula – 6.5 The Belgian provided the assist for Koopmeiners. A lively cameo overall. Dusan Vlahovic – N/A . Juventus sneak back to Scudetto race by beating resilient Hellas Verona Juventus made it five straight wins in Serie A by overcoming Hellas Verona in front of their home supporters at the Allianz Stadium. Thiago Motta started with a 4-2-3-1 formation spearheaded by Randal Kolo Muani who was flanked by Kenan Yildiz and Nicolas Gonzalez, while Weston McKennie played in midfield in front of Manuel Locatelli and Khephren Thuram. The backline was constituted of Timothy Weah, Federico Gatti, Lloyd Kelly and Andrea Cambiaso. ............ The Verona goalkeeper was absolutely imperious in his goal, pulling off a string of saves to deny Manuel Locatelli on a couple of occasions, as well as Kenan Yildiz, Weston McKennie and Khephren Thuram who squandered a glorious chance from close range. ............ At the end of the first half, the visitors thought they had snatched the lead with their first real chance of the match as Tomas Suslov’s astonishing long-range effort left Michele Di Gregorio stranded in his goal, but it was disallowed by an offside call. After the break, the Bianconeri resumed their onslaught, and were eventually rewarded for their efforts in the 72nd minute. Locatelli picked up Cambiaso on the left flank and the latter played a back-pass to Thuram who sent a shot through a crowd of players to finally beat Montipo. In the final minute of normal time, a trio of substitutes combined to score the second goal for Juventus. Alberto Costa won back the ball and brought it forward to Samuel Mbangula who in his turn freed up Teun Koopmeiners. The Dutchman’s shot wasn’t the most powerful, but it somehow evaded the goalkeeper. ............ . Juventus vs. Hellas Verona match preview Within an eight-day span, Juventus’ European and domestic cup competition hopes went up in smoke. Champions League? Gone. Chances of winning a second straight Coppa Italia? Gone — and at the hands of the worst team left in the tournament. It has been, to put it simply, a pretty rotten week for a Juventus squad that has had plenty of disappointment over the course of the first seven months of the 2024-25 season. That leaves 12 games on the schedule — all of which are in Serie A. And still plenty to play for, too. Juventus welcome Hellas Verona to the Allianz Stadium on Monday night with there suddenly being more than further consolidation of fourth place at stake. Thanks to the matchups between Inter and Napoli on Saturday finishing 1-1 and Atalanta dropping points to relegation-threatened Venezia earlier in the day, Juve have a chance to very much make the Scudetto race a four-team party in the first weekend of March. A victory over Hellas Verona — a squad that has just two wins in 2025 — and Juventus moves within six points of league leaders Inter and, somehow, actually have potential aspirations of making a run of things as we hit the final quarter of the season. Not to mention with Lazio grabbing a somewhat controversial stoppage-time winner against Milan Sunday night, Juve now have to answer back if they want to end Matchday 27 with the same two-point advantage in fourth place like they had coming out of last weekend. ............ Juventus, as we hit the first game in March, still have more draws (13) than wins (12). They are, again, dealing with a lengthy injury list that few others in the league can compare. They are still very much in the kind of state in which you wonder if this season is going to get any better or provide yet another massive body blow following the elimination from the Champions League and Coppa Italia within the span of a week. We’re again wondering how Juve will respond following the exit from the Coppa just like we did the week prior when they lost to PSV Eindhoven. It makes the meeting with Hellas Verona all the more important to try and stabilize things just a little bit during the rockiest of rocky roads Thiago Motta has faced as manager. It makes for a night in which the atmosphere at the Allianz Stadium is expected to be .... kinda awkward. ............ Juventus have 12 games remaining this season. They have 12 games to try and secure Champions League football for next season. They have 12 games to try and make something out of this season that has already had so many disappointing moments. That is all that is left to play for. So no matter what this summer will see take place, these next 12 games are very much important to how Juventus’ season will look come the fall. They are playing for the present, but there very much are stakes for the future as well. ............ TEAM NEWS One Juventus player is back in the squad after missing the last month due to injury. His name is Pierre Kalulu, who has been sorely missed. Kalulu is not expected to start against Hellas Verona, with a return to the lineup likely set for next weekend against Atalanta. As Kalulu returns, another Juventus player will miss out on Monday’s matchup with Hellas Verona. His name is Francisco Conceição, who is dealing with some sort of muscle discomfort in his thigh coming out of the Coppa Italia loss to Empoli. It’s unclear at this time just how much time Conceição could miss due to his new injury. ............ Thiago Motta is not expected to start both Dusan Vlahovic and Randal Kolo Muani from the opening whistle as he did against Empoli midweek. It’s Kolo Muani who is likely to start up front in Motta’s 4-2-3-1 formation. Andrea Cambiaso is the only Juventus player who is one yellow card away from suspension. Considering Atalanta is next up on the schedule after Monday night’s game, that seems like it’s a little more important to keep in mind compared to previous weeks. Juventus have won 13 of their last 14 home fixtures against Hellas Verona in all competitions. JUVENTUS PLAYER TO WATCH In the last five games, the young man who wears the Juventus No. 10 jersey has only started twice. Because of that, there’s been plenty of questions as to why Thiago Motta has decided to go in that direction knowing just what has been at stake in those games. ............ But, for the most part as those on the outside looking in, we don’t know why Kenan Yildiz has been out of the starting lineup for much of the last couple of weeks. It could be a tactical choice by Motta. It could be a decision made looking at how much Yildiz has played already this season compared to the entirety of last season. No matter what it is, Yildiz’s impact has mostly been off the bench of late. That is expected to change Monday night with his likely return to the starting lineup against Hellas Verona. ............ Yildiz’s last goal was on Jan. 11 against Torino. His last assist was 3 1⁄2 weeks earlier against Cagliari in mid-December. Since then, he’s played well and had some highlight-reel moments because that’s just what he does, but the thing that has been lacking has to do with the goals and goal contributions. So for as much as somebody like Kolo Muani has come in and found success right away, Yildiz’s end product — even before you take into account his performance from the penalty spot against Empoli four days ago — has come up empty of late. . We don’t know if he’s hit a physical wall considering he’s already played 2 1⁄2 times more minutes this season as compared to a year ago. But if Yildiz does kick things into gear again during a time in which Juve desperately need their best players to be just that, it would go a long way to trying to secure a place in the top four (and maybe even more). MATCH INFO When: Monday, March 3, 2025. Where: Allianz Stadium, Turin, Italy. Official kickoff time: 8:45 p.m. in Italy and the Central European time zone, 7:45 p.m. in the United Kingdom, 2:45 p.m. Eastern time, 11:45 a.m. Pacific time. . Juventus vs Hellas Verona: Preview and Prediction Juventus will look to bounce back from their midweek cup disappointment when they welcome Hellas Verona to the Allianz Stadium on Monday. Following a bitter Coppa Italia quarter-final exit, the Bianconeri must now shift their entire focus to securing a top-four finish in Serie A, while their visitors arrive with the sole objective of escaping relegation. ............ However, on the league front, they remain in strong contention for a Champions League return, thanks to an impressive run of four consecutive Serie A victories in February. Last time out in the league, Vlahovic made an immediate impact in his first start of 2025, scoring early to secure a crucial away win against Cagliari. But their midweek setback has left their morale at a low point, and Thiago Motta’s future remains a topic of intense speculation. Despite their struggles, Juventus have history firmly on their side heading into this fixture. They have never lost a Serie A match at home to Verona, winning 28 of their 33 previous encounters in Turin. The visitors have also suffered in recent meetings, losing five of their last six clashes with Juve while failing to score in all but one of those games. ............ A victory for Juventus would strengthen their grip on a top-four finish, while Verona will aim to defy the odds and record back-to-back league wins for the first time in almost a year. Given the contrasting ambitions of both teams, this encounter promises to be a crucial one for their respective campaigns. Team News & Tactics Juventus Juventus continue to struggle with defensive absences, as young full-back Nicolo Savona and Chelsea loanee Renato Veiga have recently joined a growing list of sidelined players. The Bianconeri are already without Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal, both of whom are ruled out for the rest of the season, while Pierre Kalulu remains unavailable. Given the lack of options at the back, Thiago Motta is expected to deploy Federico Gatti alongside Lloyd Kelly in central defense. In midfield, Douglas Luiz is also unavailable after suffering a flexor injury shortly after returning from his latest layoff. His absence reduces the manager’s options in the center of the park, with Manuel Locatelli and Khephren Thuram expected to anchor the midfield. The attacking setup could see some adjustments, particularly regarding the strike partnership. It remains uncertain whether both Dusan Vlahovic and Randal Kolo Muani will retain their places in the starting XI, or if one will be rested. Vlahovic, in particular, has a strong record against Verona, having netted six goals against them in Serie A, including a brace in Juventus’ 3-0 win at Stadio Bentegodi earlier this season. Michele Di Gregorio is expected to start in goal, providing stability between the posts. Timothy Weah and Andrea Cambiaso are likely to be deployed as full-backs, with Federico Gatti and Lloyd Kelly forming the central defensive duo. In midfield, Khephren Thuram and Manuel Locatelli will be tasked with controlling possession and breaking down Verona’s attacks. Ahead of them, a trio of attackers featuring Francisco Conceicao on the right, Weston McKennie in a central playmaker role, and Kenan Yildiz on the left will provide the creative spark. Leading the line, Randal Kolo Muani is expected to get the nod, though Dusan Vlahovic remains a strong alternative, particularly given his history of success against Verona. Probable Lineup (4-2-3-1): Di Gregorio; Weah, Gatti, Kelly, Cambiaso; Thuram, Locatelli; Conceicao, McKennie, Yildiz; Kolo Muani Hellas Verona ............ Probable Lineup (3-5-2): Montipo; Dawidowicz, Coppola, Valentini; Tchatchoua, Niasse, Bernede, Duda, Bradaric; Suslov, Sarr Key Stats Juventus have won five of their last six Serie A matches against Hellas Verona (D1), keeping five clean sheets in that period. This marks a significant turnaround, as they had failed to win any of the four meetings prior to this run (D2 L2). Hellas Verona are the team against whom Juventus have played the most home games without losing in Serie A history. The Bianconeri have won 28 and drawn five of their 33 previous meetings in Turin. Juventus have won four consecutive Serie A matches for the first time since December 2023 and January 2024 (five in a row at that time). They ended February 2025 with a perfect 4/4 record in the league, marking their first such feat since February 2023. Juventus have won each of their first three league games at the Allianz Stadium in 2025. A win against Verona would mark the first time they have won their first four home matches in a single calendar year since 2021 (7/7 in that case). After their victory against Fiorentina in their most recent outing, Hellas Verona could win two Serie A matches in a row for the first time since March 2024, when they defeated Sassuolo and Lecce consecutively. Player to Watch Randal Kolo Muani Juventus will look to Randal Kolo Muani to provide the attacking impetus against Hellas Verona. The French striker has been growing in influence under Thiago Motta, using his pace, movement, and finishing ability to unsettle opposing defenses. ............ While still settling into his role in Turin, Kolo Muani’s dribbling ability and versatility make him a key attacking threat for the Bianconeri. His performance in this game could play a crucial role in Juventus maintaining their strong start to 2025 and securing another vital three points in their push for a top-four finish. Prediction Juventus 2-0 Hellas Verona Juventus may be reeling from their Coppa Italia disappointment, but their strong Serie A form and impeccable home record against Verona make them firm favorites for this clash. Despite their inconsistencies, the Bianconeri have been defensively solid in the league. ............ Verona’s recent victory over Fiorentina was a morale booster, but their lack of attacking threat — having scored just three goals in their last eight league matches — will be a major concern against a well-organized Juventus defense. The visitors have also historically struggled in Turin, failing to find the net in their last three visits to the Allianz Stadium. Juventus are likely to control possession and patiently break down Verona’s defensive setup. Expect them to find a breakthrough in the first half before sealing the victory with a second goal after the break. Another clean sheet should be on the cards for Thiago Motta’s men as they continue their push for a Champions League return. . Thiago Motta discusses big outburst: “I was angry because I love my players” Thiago Motta regained his serenity and composure after lashing out at Juventus players on Wednesday night following the Coppa Italia exit. The 42-year-old has often cut a calm and collected figure, but the embarrassing elimination at the hands of Empoli instigated his first major media outburst since joining the club in the summer. ............ But after a few days of reflection, a much calmer Motta appeared in front of the media on Sunday to preview tomorrow’s Serie A contest against Hellas Verona. ............ “It wasn’t easy, because losing a game the way we did wasn’t simple. But at the same time, our duty is to think about the next game, prepare ourselves, train and be ready to face the next opponent as best we can,” said Motta in his pre-match press conference. “Our opponent tomorrow is Verona, it will be complicated, but at the same time we have great energy and a great desire to transform this anger and prove we are superior. “There is great disappointment from everyone. I was angry after Empoli because I love my players very much and because I know them. My relationship with the group is excellent. There is honesty, sincerity and communication. “In my role, I make decisions for which I spend a lot of time to avoid making mistakes, because I love the guys, but then there are decisions that I have to make, and for this reason our relationship is fantastic.” ............ “Our captain is Manuel Locatelli. There are many leaders in this group. The relationship has always been excellent with everyone. We are a united team, then when the results don’t go well, there is criticism. We are called to always give our best, that’s why I was angry after the game, also because I see how hard they work and how much they commit in training.” ............ “Hellas Verona is a good team and they come from a good victory over Fiorentina. Fans have the freedom to express themselves. We feel the same disappointment that the supporters felt. We have the same anger as them. We don’t want to repeat what we did in the Cup and we want to give our best. I expect a complicated match.” . “No humility” – Sacchi blames Juventus players for Thiago Motta’s shortcomings Former Milan manager Arrigo Sacchi points the finger at Juventus players when trying to explain the club’s underwhelming campaign under Thiago Motta. ............ Sacchi continues to defend the 42-year-old, instead blaming the players’ attitude for the club’s shortcomings. ............ The legendary Italian tactician suggests some players tend to become a bit complacent after securing a transfer to Juventus, losing the hunger and determination that earned the big move in the first place. “Thiago Motta is a hard worker, but it seems to me that he ended up in an environment where the players believe they have already reached their finish line,” he said. “I don’t see, in their behavior on the pitch, that humility and spirit of sacrifice that are necessary to achieve success. At Juve, they tried to make a cultural revolution, but they now find themselves in the middle of the Ford.” ............ .
